We ventured to Gauchos last night before seeing a show at the Paramount. Here, Gauchos deserves only one star. The wait staff, although very nice, was incredibly inexperienced, not prepared for a crowd, and couldn't make heads or tails of honestly anything that was going on. Drinks took 45mins-1 hour to come out. We ordered a Sprite, a Club Soda, Two Beers, an Old Fashion and an Espresso Martini. Unbelievable it took 45mins to an hour to come out. Had we not been going to the show at the Paramount, we would have left right then and there. In fact, we did see about 4 tables get up and leave for lack of service and attention. Sides were tastey, but the servers did not provide any utensils for the side dishes and didn't provide napkins. When asked, we never received serving utensils, but did receive little cocktail napkins. Really? Cocktail napkins? When the rodizio came out, now about 1:30 from when we sat down, it was tasty, but the service was so slow that it felt like an eternity until the next meat came. This is quite a shame because the price for the rodizio experience was not Pennie's, therefore, we definitely did not get our monies worth. Now, as noted above, we were there before the show at the Paramount. We had a reservation at 6 pm thinking it would be plenty of time for the 8:00 show. Nope! After experiencing the snail-like service, we asked for the check around 7:40. We asked for the check three times. Finally, enough was enough - we went to the bar and grabbed our check, paid and left. For a party of 6, 4 cocktails, a sprite and a club soda, the tab came out to $400 before tip. The atmosphere was nice, but thinking about this more today, it was the equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig. Honestly, we should have walked out after the drink situation and went to Whiskey River. Respectfully, we will not be returning to Gauchos any time soon. Finally got to Gauchos to try it out. We had an awesome time. Prepare to be there a while as good food takes a little time - but is so worth it. The chorizo was amazing. The chicken wrapped in bacon was juicy and the meats - amazing. So tender and all very well seasoned. Drinks were delicious as well. And prices were very good too. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. We were 5 people but plan to come back with a large group next time we do a group dinner. Warning - don't eat for 12 hours before you go. So I asked my partner how to do this one as neither one of us could find a single redeeming quality to this place (0 stars!). The following review is a service to unknowing (potential) future patrons! There was SO much wrong here I really don't where to begin! But when you walk into a Brazilian restaurant and hear Mexican or Latino music blasting, order a Caipirinha and it's served in a cocktail glass with an oriental umbrella AND made with syrup... YOU KNOW IT ISN'T AUTHENTIC BRAZILIAN! NOT real churrascaria and NOT authentic rodizio. Ambiance: POOR. However this place was previously decorated is how it's decorated now--The History of Peekskill in pictures (on the walls). Weird! New furniture in the front, and whatever was found when they moved in is in the back. Service: POOR(ER). Prepare to be ignored when you walk in and completely forgotten about once seated! Went to the bar 3x's to ask for things--of which we're 'still' waiting! Never got our salad first; never got balsamic vinegar as requested; was never asked if we needed anything or wanted more drinks, and never got pepper! But there IS salt on every table! Slooooooooow too! Don't have theater tickets! Waiting for the check? Hahahaha! Food: POOR. I'm 100% certain they don't start preparing what few lousy meats they use until at least 6 people order rodizio. When they 'finally' brought it out, it was all at the SAME time! Never seen meat served on a plate either--it was as if they found something in the back that couldn't be put on a skewer, "This is hamboogah... end cut for you, Sir?" Don't expect Black beans either--it's only a Brazilian restaurant, right? They serve 'Spanish' beans here! Couple that with the most tasteless unseasoned (boxed) white rice too! Low quality fatty meat, noticeably poor quality food used. Dessert choice... Churros! Really? Price: SHOCKINGLY OVERPRICED FOR WHAT IT IS, VERY EXPENSIVE LOUSY RODIZIO! You can eat gourmet rodizio ANYWHERE else (White Plains, Yonkers & Danbury) and it will cost less for substantially more! Authentic Brazilian ALWAYS includes an extensive never ending buffet salad bar. Here? NO! A single bowl of shredded Iceberg lettuce with a piece of tomato--and that's only if you 'choose it' as a side! And a 3% debit card charge! Overall: Real rodizio is more than 5 low quality, overpriced meats, a bowl of shredded Iceberg lettuce and certainly NOT a 3+ hour commitment! I went to Gauchos last night but was quite disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive, which is the one of the only good aspects I can write about. We ordered the Churrasco Mixto para 2. For $62, we anticipated a bit more food than what came out. There was one sausage sliced in half, charred ribs with little meat, very thin "sirloin", etc. The meats were also very dry. The chicken wrapped in bacon was a nice touch, perhaps they should turn that into a full menu item! For the price and the wait time, I can't say Gauchos lived up to expectations. read more

The ambience is nice the food is absolutely terrible horrible quality and the wait staff doesn't know how to do much the kitchen is run poorly as the food takes over an hour to come out I don't see this place being in business much longer unless they're making their money from drinks and a late night crowd they should just stop serving food all together read more

Hey! I'm sad to see the poor reviews! I have been here twice and had a great experience. I got the Rodizio twice and have no complaints! Cooked well, tasted great. Tasked exactly what you would expect from a Fogo De Chao. My girlfriend got the beef skewers those were great too. I think the service was good. Especially for how busy they were. I did not expect it to be packed, but I felt like they handled it well. I have a feeling the owners and operators are newer to the restaurant business which is fine, I think they are trying their best. Focusing on 1) Food, 2) service. Ambiance! We had live music, he was talented singing both English and Spanish. I will be back. Sorry to see the bad reviews, again, give it another try. read more

Not ready for prime time. Took more than hour to get food for 2 people and we did not order alot. Had Paramount tickets and made mistake of coming here. Had to ask for food many times and shoveled down to get to theater. Waitress tried but kitchen was slow. Glad we didn't order the AYCE Rodizio as not alot was coming out of kitchen. Hostess should seat folks give menus and take drinks. They serve no comps, not one slice of bread. And didn't offer anything for terrible experience. I rated 3 because didn't want to burn them but husband would have given 0 stars. On plus side, shrimp was very good. read more

I had high hopes for this place because it gave me fogo de chao vibes... we walk in and it's completely empty.... The food comes out and it's just horrible ... worst food I've ever had. All the meat was too salty and dry. I paid 60 dollars and I think I ate about 1/3 amount and I usually eat my moneys worth. I would recommend not coming here. While the dinner started off slightly rocky, the quality of the service definitely increased. The owner was an extremely personable host and made us feel welcomed. The ambience is nice, very comfortable and interesting stuff on the walls plus waitstaff was lovely and very attentive but the steak sandwich I got was half fat. How could the chef not see this and trim the pieces? I would not order it again. read more
