We arrived early on a Friday evening, and thankfully it wasn't crowded. Since they don't take reservations, getting there early is definitely the way to go. We ordered the Dealer's Choice, which was refreshing, balanced, and beautifully presented. We also tried one of their stronger signature cocktails, and they definitely don't hold back -- there's a reason they limit those drinks to two per person! Both drinks were creative and well-crafted. The bartenders clearly know their craft, and the drink presentation was outstanding. Service was good, although not especially memorable, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. One thing that would make the experience even more immersive would be if the entire staff wore cowboy attire to match the Old West theme. With the speakeasy setting and vintage decor, it would add a fun touch and make the experience feel even more authentic. Overall, Twain Speakeasy offers excellent cocktails, good music, and a unique atmosphere. I would definitely come back again, and my recommendation is to arrive early since reservations aren't available and I can see this place filling up quickly on busy nights.

Typical bar pub food that nothing stood out but we did just order appetizers. With 5 beers and 2 sodas, the bill was only $117 which was actually surprisingly cheap to me.

Set menu planning was easy, and Lucy helped project costs to make sure we met the minimum. I was blown away when I saw it all come together. Kelly, the owner, took such careful care of us. She photographed the event and shared the photos with me afterward, and she took the time to walk us through each dish and the thought behind the ingredients, which made the food taste even better. She gathered the whole group for a photo, and once everyone left, she offered me a cold drink to help me unwind (she must have noticed how stressed I was, lol). Good variety of dishes from pastas to burgers to steaks and seafood. For my dinner selection I went with the NY Strip (medium rare). It comes with a baked potato and some veggies (broccoli and carrots). There is a pat of bleu cheese compound butter which you can use to add some extra flavor, although I didn't think my steak needed any. Solid restaurant with great vibes!

The server gets 10,000 stars for being the major reason I'd go back. When servers go out of their way to treat me kindly and by providing creature comforts I didn't even know I wanted or needed? I feel like we could have been checked on more and I waited 15min after my first sip of that drink to replace it with another one and then waited another 10min for the replacement for almost half an hour of waiting for a drink that was drinkable. Then we asked for a printed receipt and she just clocked out and never gave us one. The ambiance was fine and like I said, Jon Dutch made the evening worth it. Otherwise I would not come back unless he was here providing entertainment. If I come again, I'll try all new things as I wasn't impressed with anything I ordered this first time I tried the place.

Extremely disappointing experience. We tried everything possible to make a reservation. I had been calling since the restaurant opened and couldn't get through. I also tried making a reservation online, but the reservation system wasn't working. Since neither option worked, we decided to show up in person and give them a chance. We gave the hostess our phone number and were told the wait would be approximately 30 minutes. That 30 minutes quickly turned into a frustrating experience with little to no communication. We repeatedly had to ask for updates while watching other guests arrive after us and get seated. When we questioned the hostess, we were told that the tables were booked and that the only option available was lounge seating. Who seriously expects people to eat steak comfortably in lounge chairs? That's not a reasonable dining option, especially when you're waiting to be seated for a full meal. The biggest problems: Terrible communication - We had to constantly chase down the hostess for updates instead of being kept informed. Poor accommodations for waiting guests - The environment was cold, and there were no heat lamps or warmers to make waiting outside remotely comfortable. Extremely limited seating - The setup is nowhere near as accommodating as the West Covina location. The West Covina location is significantly larger and, based on our experience, provides much better service. Reservation system needs serious improvement - If your phone isn't being answered and your online reservation system isn't working, what exactly are customers supposed to do? Overall, this was an incredibly frustrating experience. We came prepared to spend money and enjoy a nice steak dinner, but instead we spent our time waiting, asking for updates, and being given poor seating options. If you're planning on coming with a party, save yourself the headache. Do not expect to simply walk in and get a table. Unless you have a confirmed reservation, you may end up standing around in the cold waiting with very little communication from the staff. After comparing this experience to the West Covina location, there is absolutely no comparison. This location has a lot of work to do when it comes to organization, communication, seating, and customer service. Very disappointing and definitely not the experience we expected. read more

Bienvendidos!!! Temecula welcomes food variety in our Old Town. I came to Gaucho Grill on day 2 of their opening. I did not have a reservation, but since it was 20 minutes before they opened, and I found out by the Hostess I could just walk to the bar and order from there, I stayed. Five o'clock arrives, so I walk to the outside bar and take a seat. Okay, now it gets interesting... the bartender tells me he can't serve me because the Hostess didn't seat me, plus I need to get a menu!!! I couldn't believe what he said!!! I responded that I spoke to the Hostess and she never gave me these instructions. I never heard of a process like this. He stayed firm in not serving me, so I go to the Hostess, get the menu, and inform the bartender I want to sit inside. He then leaves the bar and escorts me to the inside bar- such a bizarre process!!! I want to know, do I get compensated for getting my menu and doing the Hostess's job? Plus, him taking me into the restaurant made me feel uncomfortable- not like a guest, but someone who was being lead by an authority figure, like a policeman, taking a prisoner to the curb to sit. So, first impression was not good!!! Okay, so George, the bartender serving the guests inside the restaurant, is hospitable, knowledgeable about the items on the menu, is efficient, friendly, and I think you get the drift that he's nothing short of AMAZING!!! He could teach the Hostesses, other bartenders, and servers, what excellent service looks like!!! George more than made up for the negative first impression I had!!! Now, on to the food. Rather than go into detail, I will say the meat could use some spices- garlic, pepper, a dash more salt, and if indeed the meat is smoked, use more potent wood chips to deliver more flavor. Corn and mashed potatoes were excellent, as were the bread, and sauces. I know you're new, so that's why I gave 3 stars. Hopefully, the next time I come, ALL the servers will follow in George's footsteps and that the meat dishes- lamb and steak- will be more flavorful!!! Looking forward to that 5 Star meal!!! read more

Last night, my husband, some friends, and I had dinner at Gaucho Grill, and overall, we had a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful ambiance and stylish aesthetic of the restaurant. The hostesses were also very warm and welcoming. I especially want to give a huge shoutout to our waitress, Bella! She was absolutely wonderful! So friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant throughout our entire dinner. She really made our evening that much more enjoyable, and we were all very pleased with her service. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered! The only thing I noticed was that the manager seemed a bit overwhelmed, and I hope he can show a little more patience toward his staff. Being a new restaurant, everyone is still learning and adjusting, and a little kindness goes a long way. Aside from that, we had a lovely evening and look forward to coming back! Lexy made our visit to Gaucho Grill truly memorable. She took care of me, my wife, and my mother in law at the bar on the second floor with warmth and genuine attention. Our drinks came exactly as we wanted them, and she checked in often enough to make sure we were doing well without making us feel rushed or interrupted. What stood out even more was seeing her give that same thoughtful service to the other guests around us. She made us feel special even though she had just met us, and that kind of care is rare. I'm a retired Navy SEAL who served for 20 years and has traveled throughout the United States and around the world. I've experienced a lot of restaurants, and Lexy's service was among the best I've received. She has the personality, awareness, and professionalism to lead by example. I hope Gaucho Grill recognizes what a valuable person they have in her. Lexy made us want to come back, and we'll be glad to see her again. read more

When we arrive 3 workers were just standing at the host station. We were seated outside on the patio. Tables were so close together couldn't get in and out to use restroom without hitting the people behind us. There was another really loud large party on the patio which made for a not so relaxing dining experience. Order steak medium rare. Came out well. The guys ordered scotch on the rocks and she bought them cherries with it. ??? Server was very absent and only came around every so often. Needed to ask buses for water refills. Then after we were done and getting ready to pay them came by with a plate of 4 unknown items on it. Then while we were waiting for checks to come back another server came by with more. Temecula is our go-to spot--we visit every month. Now that Gaucho Temecula is there, I think we need to go back at least two more Saturdays a month! Their brunch is--OMG--incredible. Especially during happy hour times when they're super busy and most definitely when there's football games on. I've been trying to make my way down their happy hour food menu to try different things but my tried and true items are: poke nachos, fried calamari, carnivore pizza, Wisconsin cheese curds, and chicken lettuce wraps. I've also tried the California roll stacker which is on their regular appetizer menu and it is delicious! I love it! Some other happy hour items I've gotten were: sliders, buffalo chicken pizza, Margherita pizza, seared tuna, chicken tenders, chicken nachos which are hugeeee and easily can be shared with 4 people which is ridiculously cheap for happy hour pricing. We couldn't even complain because no one came to check on how our food was. We will definitely not be going back. We found another place. It's a little bit more expensive but the food is really good. It's in Menifee. It's a hole in the wall. Amazing food amazing stage. I'm not gonna mention the name because I don't want my review to be removed.
