Went to Gaucho Beach for their advertised oldies & funk brunch, and honestly the best thing they have going is the beachfront location and people watching. We were expecting a fun mix of oldies and funk music, but after maybe five oldies songs it basically turned into a Michael Jackson playlist for the rest of brunch. Food-wise: Steak & eggs: steak was good, but the eggs were rubbery and the potatoes lacked flavor. Chilaquiles: tried both the green and red salsa. The green was good, but the red tasted more like regular tomato sauce. Chicken & waffles: was surprised that it was chicken strips but was even more surprised that they tasted good, but the waffles were very dense, although they did have a nice sweetness to them. The drinks were good and the staff was great, which definitely helped the experience. Overall, more of a spot for the view and vibes than the food.

Came with hubby and grandkids. Food plates too big for young teens but they were too old for kids plates. Service was friendly but a bit thin. We had almost finished our plates when the obligatory' how's your food' question came up. Enjoyed the music and decor. Gaucho salad worth a mention for texture and taste but it was heavy on the raisins.

My gf and I came in for a drink after a walk on the beach. We didn't expect much on a Tuesday afternoon. We tried the signature strawberry basil marg and the Bloody Mary and they were both banging! Also, shout out to Bang, our bartender. We are coming back just for his drinks. He was super nice and my gf loved his playlist.

Pretty cool place for brunch, drinks or people watching! Staff was great! Food was good.

Edit: in response to Tina's last message on here to respond to this one from me -- I'm over your feigned attempts to show concern. If the company wanted to make it right it would have happened already. Thanks, but no thanks! I will never return again. So not surprisingly after Tina's second attempt to supposedly make things right by asking me to reach out to Max again with the receipt details - which I did and messaged her with a screenshot of the email (and , still crickets. The customer service provided on yelp is worse than the service at the restaurant! I've attached our communication on here for your review.

Being from Long Beach but moving away and seeing all the changes that has taken place throughout the city is quite amazing. Long Beach was not what it's like today. Now it's a place where there's so many things are happening and restaurants and shops are scattered everywhere. Cluster of area are trendy, blocks are full of amazing restaurants, massive new apartments complex replacing empty lots all through downtown. And of course this place. I remember when it was just an empty spot where it's just the beach, the park and parking lot. Now it's a pretty cool beachfront restaurant and bar right on the sand and bike path. It's been so long since I left that I'm not quite sure how long this place has been here. I've seen it often when visiting walking the path or meeting friends for dinner down the street. Plus seeing post about this place and hearing from friends, it was finally something that needed to be done. Friday afternoon, just as happy hour was happening we popped in for drinks. Nothing major just something to have while checking it out. Checked in with the hostess which we mentioned that we wanted drinks and not brunch. She mentioned that the bar area was full but followed her anyways which they did have seat available. There were plenty of open tables but not sure if we were able to have one if we were just having drinks. She never offered it to us. Anyways, bar seating was fine. It wraps around. Menu for happy hour was decent, a good amount of drinks as well as food items. We had to get someone's attention so we could order. Normally you would get acknowledged when seated at the bar but it didn't seemed like they even noticed us. Finally someone, placed our order for some drinks and then some food. Drinks, beer on tap and one of the red sangria on happy hour. Beer, you can't go wrong with it. Sangria's, it was nice and refreshing. Had a few fruit chunks mixed in. Food, we shared an order of the mussels. They brought out the meal but no extra plates for the shells. Also, no utensils which we had to ask someone sitting across from us to pass some down that was sitting there. And shells were placed onto a napkin. Anyways, the mussels were quite nice. They were pretty small in sizes but the broth was very flavorful. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. Downstairs has the bar with some nice table seating looking out to the bike path and beach. There's also an upstairs which we didn't get to check out. Overall, the place is quite beautiful. Service was a little slow until we got someone's attention. Drinks were good and the mussels were tasty. There's a small parking lot out back but just to the side , a couple minutes walk is a bigger lot.

Really was excited to try this place out for the first time. I had seen so many awesome videos on instagram that i definitely thought it would be worth the hype, but i definitely was not impressed. Actually I was a little bummed. The service was super slow, the drinks were on the smaller side and very overpriced and the food was not the best and arrived to the table cold. Server was absent most of the meal he forgot the rice to my lomo saltado which sucked because by the time I was able to bring it to his attention I was half way done with my meal. Another thing that didn't sit so well with me was that the restroom was really dirty. All in all not a great experience but definitely an awesome location!

I get the fact that a business is only as good as it's employees. It wouldn't hurt for the bartender female at the bar to smile . At this point, I'm only here for the drinks not the service or atmosphere, but she turned a bad day even worse..

Thanks Beng for all that you do! Great company! Good views! Good food! Good drinks! I highly recommend that this place for the food and I really enjoyed the service from Beng.

I'll give Gaucho beach restaurant and bar a 1 start only because our waitress was super nice and understanding thanks and the location is very beautiful right by the beach, but other than that, the michis taste like Bloody Mary's the fish and chips, are really horrible the fish smells super fishy, the batter from the inside is undercooked and it's more batter then fish! See photos for reference. The only thing on the menu I would recommend are the mussels, even though half of them were shells. The wine sauce was delicious, used it to season everything else. Won't recommend. Only for regular margs or beer on tap. Or fries.

Had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was also very good. Josue helped us out and was a great guide in what to order. I ordered the new crab sandwich and was exquisite and perfect for the weather that's warming up. I paired it with one of their own Gaucho beers and had the Patagonia Blond, which complimented my sandwich.

If you're looking for a place that has amazing food, a great view by the beach, and exceptional service, Gaucho Beach is the place you should be at!!! My boyfriend and I sat on the rooftop and were lucky enough to have Kamilah as our server. She was incredibly attentive and so kind, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying everything. She even suggested their Redbull Coconut Mojito, and I ended up falling in love with it. She truly made our experience even better! If you have her as a server, you're definitely in good hands. As for our food, it was so creamy, juicy, and so full of flavor! I got their Sea Bass and my boyfriend got the Gaucho Burger, both dishes were so filling I honestly wish I had room for more. The best part is how pet friendly they are! We were able to bring our dog to dine with us . Definitely will be back, I loved it here!

Is this place toddler friendly? My little one loves to roam around

Hey Kristina! Of course! You also have a kids' space right next to Gaucho Beach :)

I've seen reviews that you need to tip before ordering on the app. Is that accurate?

Yes it's correct

Are there heat lamps?

Last time I was there they only had a few working heat lamps, and it was a nightmare trying to get one!

Fourth time here, when is the roof top open, pray tell? Only weekends, a waitress just informed me.

Is their outside patio pet friendly? We visit Rosie's dog beach and would love to stop for a bite once our pup is tuckered out from running on the beach!

Yes they are very dog friendly. All dogs and cats are welcome in the outside seating areas.

Since you don' ttake reservations would a party of 13 be able to be seated roof top on a Thursday night about 6:30 pm.?

Not really, it would be a nightmare and they don't really have a way to group enough tables together. Their ordering system is no good. Food comes out at random. Some of your party will be finishing their entrees, while other people will just start… Read more

A very welcoming vibe upon entry, we were greeted by a friendly couple who answered our questions about popular drink flavors. We decided to go with a Hot Cinnamon Dulce Latte and an Iced Blueberry Lavender Latte. While waiting, there were plenty of chairs, tables, a comfy couch and even a bar area to sit and relax. Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! Not to worry, her Blueberry Lavender Latte was also top-notch, with a smooth, not-to-sweet flavor combination. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.
