A very cute cat themed restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. We had the veal, salt cod with potato and fava beans tapas. We had a small pitcher of red sangria, the bread and olive appetizer and the orange tiramisu which was excellent. Highly recommend. read more

Fresh, inventive, flavorful food in an intimate setting on one of the charming side streets of Alfama. I wanted to find a special restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday and I made the right choice. Waiter/owner Werner charmingly guided us through the menu. The lightly pan-fried prawns with garlic sauce were perfectly seasoned and delectable. I couldn't stop smiling as I ate it. The pork cheeks braised in red wine were intensely flavorful and tender, but not overwhelmed by the wine. We also had the special--an amazing dish of white beans stewed with seafood--I would be hard pressed to choose my favorite of the three dishes. Mario, the owner/baker, made a lovely orange tiramisu and a very creamy light lemon cheesecake which ended the meal perfectly. We came back again to try the black pudding with pineapple---an excellent choice of complementary flavors. We also had the succulent lamb chops which had an excellent sauce. I would have preferred the lamb to have been more rare, but I realize the pieces were quite thin. We also had the perfectly prepared tagliatelle with prawns in a delicate, creamy red sauce. You can tell when a restaurant is run by people who put their heart and soul into their food. This is one of them. Bravo Werner and Mario! read more

This was hardly a minute walk away from our Airbnb. A quiet little place with the nicest staff. It truly feels like a family owned restaurant. We had the starter bread basket, a variety of tapas, and a warm goat cheese salad. Everything was tasty, but the star of our meal was the goat cheese salad. The salad was subtly sweet, with a pear sauce, pomegranate seeds, some nuts, carrots, beets, and topped with a wheel of warm goat cheese. The cheese was cooked to perfection. A slight crust on the edges and fresh flavor. Hands down a must try for cheese and salad lovers. read more

Was in the neighborhood after catching night sky at La Gracia. Happened on this cozy bistro and got a table outside. Shared a Greek Salad, Chicken Wings, Bacalao, and Grilled Shrimp. All delicious and well seasoned. Had room for a homemade orange tiramisu. Wonderful! The restaurant has a cat theme, nice seating and lighting. Quaint little restaurant with charming outdoor seating, especially at night with the glow from the illuminated bell tower of the nearby church overhead. We were served by a friendly and attentive waiter. Our food was delicious. We started with an excellent sweet potato soup. My pasta with sardines was unforgettable. Visited this restaurant last year and then again at the beginning of this year just before Covid lockdown. Food is absolutely phenomenal. Had the prawns and the sea bass delish. I Loved this restaurant! The servers were enthusiastic and funny and it was great service making sure things were perfect. Complements to chef their food came in tiny portions but big flavors all of the dishes were spot on! I would definitely come here if I were in the Lisbon area. I had the pasta with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and oregano. It was probably one the best pastas I have ever had in my entire life. The flavoring was perfect and the balances of spices was spot on! This was probably my favorite meal in Lisboa! The restaurant is really cute and not too touristy. We went early with my son and husband, who both have limited diets due to diet ratty restrictions (no pork, no beef, no shell fish, no lamb! This is difficult in Portugal). The server was very accommodating and made a special meal for my son, gave me a portion of chicken gizzards to try, which was very tasty, and recommended to me the pasta with sardines which was amazing. I absolutely adored the atmosphere here. The waiter was phenomenal and friendly. The food was home cooked delicious. In fact it was the best Portuguese food we had in Lisbon. I ordered the sausage with nettles, and my boyfriend got the shrimp with garlic pepperoncini sauce. The sauce that his shrimp came in was incredible! I am going to try and make it when we get home. The sausage was really tasty too. Like a chorizo but actually good I'm not keen on them typically. Just overall a lovely lunch in a beautiful area. read more

Rude, Rude, Rude, average food and never treated like this in any restaurant anywhere...ever! I want to start by saying I VERY MUCH wanted to like this small quaint well decorated place. A restaurant owner, we adored, recommended this place AND it was a half block from our AIRBNB. We made a reservation for the night before I actually ate there and had to cancel for personal reasons. We tried to call and inform them, at 4pm for an 8pm reservation, as I feel strongly about that, and they did not answer and had no machine. When I arrived the next night the owner, who said hello to me the for the previous 3 days, ignored me and later accosted me and accused me, via a nasty comment and a finger flicking of his nose, for being "stuck up" to miss a reservation! The waiter rushed myself and 2 young Germans so badly, by asking them to order before the kitchen closed and BEFORE he had given them their menus, that they ordered a soup and salad to get out quickly and eat a real dinner elsewhere! The upside was we 3 all talked, laughed and enjoyed each others company so much,(and the Germans informed me when the staff were maligning us in German) that's we had a great travelers experience despite the owner, waiter and average food. When the owner asked how it had been I said fine with the exception of his rudeness and being rushed by his staff. His reply : "Oh well, life is not perfect". Save your money for many wonderful eats in Portugal, like O Corvo! read more

Walking the hills of Lisbon we stumbled upon a man smoking a cigarette who directed us down the hill to this gem of a place. The sangria is amazing the atmosphere welcoming and the staff wonderful I would recommend this place to anytime walking around this neighborhood or even at the end of your tuk tuk tour. read more

Alfama is amazing but we went to this restaurant our very first night. You will NOT be disappointed! It's small, yet personable, with real Alfama feeling. Tucked in a side street- Their food taste authentic and real- local made, and had the best spices/taste. We recommend the duck breast and caprese salad (so good) Cozy with candlelight for those who look for a true Alfama feel. The owner is absolutely awesome making sure you have the best food, and experience, taking the time to sit with us and educate us on the surrounding- we also had a wonderful waitress, Carolina- she was amazing!!! Read the whole menu to us in English, explained Portuguese traditions and made sure we felt special even though we did not know much at all. The chef, the owner, and Carolina, plus their OUTSTANDING food made it a 5 star easy. Don't miss this experience. read more

This was an interesting restaurant we came to visit after we went to the flea market (Feira da Ladra). The staff made space for the 5 of us (it's a small, cozy place with room for a small crowd. They serve salads with a beautiful buffalo mozzarella. Another friend had the curry shrimp and they made a vegetarian eggplant Marinera pasta for me. The food was delicious as well as the cocktails. The dishes were reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. It is a great place to visit and enjoy. It is worth the hike up the hill. read more
