Went here on New Years Eve. The place was packed with people, but our server was outstanding. She was nice and very informative. My party got the Brussels sprouts and pork buns, which I have had before and continue to order because they are the best! I got scallops and my husband got the Wagyu Sirloin cooked to perfection. I have never had better scallops honestly. They were cooked perfect with just a slight sear on both sides. It was a special New Year's Eve menu but I love every item on their menu. I have been wanting to try Gather since it opened and finally pulled the trigger. The drinks were very flavorful and not too strong. I ordered the burrata app which featured tumeric naan...such fresh ingredients and great flavors. For my main, I ordered the elk Bolognese which featured homemade noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly! Finally, I ended the night with a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake was done perfectly, my only complaint was that I had to share it. Nice spot in the downtown area. The service was good. I had a berry mojito. Seemed watered down. It was ok. I got the mushroom pasta and added on grilled chicken. Very yummy! We sat at the bar as we did not have reservations and the bar tender was so friendly and helpful. Food was great but my favorite dish was the mushroom toasts. Stopped in for dinner after a show at the Holland on a Sunday, the hostess was very friendly as was our server and quite frankly everyone we encountered working there. Very convenient to make reservations thru Open Table and we took advantage of their gift card deal and picked some up online prior to coming in. The food here is fantastic. They did a great job accommodating my wife's gluten free needs. The Za'atar Carrots were off the charts. I really really enjoyed their Old Fashioned cocktail. They gave us the biggest appetizer portion of brussel sprouts I've ever seen. I wish everyone would do this. They are quite tasty to boo. My mother and wife each had the pork shank and my wife let me try hers I will get that next time. I truly enjoyed my Elk Bolognese though and highly recommended it. We finished with the flourless cake and we were not disappointed. Its very rich and perfect to share for a nice sweet treat to finish the meal. We plan to be back for sure! read more

Entrees were great (elk and scallops) although in house noodles were a little overworked and truffle pasta could use a little more seasoning; prices can be steep but with it. This place has only been open like 2 days so they have a lot of kinks to work out. Took a LONG time to gets drinks out, app came out first. Of the four drinks ordered, only 1 person was happy with their cocktail. If youre going to charge more then $15 for a drink it better be spot on, these werent. The wagu was ordered medium rare but came out with cool center and was more rare than medium rare. I hate to do this, but I sent it back. GM said the medium rare was supposed to be cool center but I disagree. They took it back and came out with new dish and the waitress said that she hoped this was cooked more to our liking, like no just want it med rare not rare. Way too passive aggressive. This place has a lot of potential and I hope to come back to improve this rating but I'll take some time before returning. read more

This place is amazing. The ambiance, food, and service were excellent. We started with the Crispy Brussels and the Pork Buns. Both were so good! The house made bao buns and pork belly were perfect. The brussel sprouts have a unique flavor combination that seriously made it hard to put the fork down. For dinner my husband had the Elk Bolognese and I had the Truffle Pasta with shrimp. Wow! Both dishes were outstanding. We really enjoyed our meals. The food was fresh and delectable. Our waitress, Liv, was excellent as well. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The garden in the basement is absolutely beautiful and impressive. The lush greens and overall concept is definitely a sight to see. Do not skip this part of the restaurant! Our first visit to Gather was terrific. Great atmosphere and view out of their dining area to the Old Market. Staff was very attentive and helpful, and the food was terrific. I had the Bison with sweet potatoes, beets and broccoli. Everything but the broccoli was very good. But let's be honest broccoli is terrible so it's not the fault of Gather (to be even more honest I didn't even try it so understand this review is from a broccoli hater). My wife had the Elk Bolognese, which she let me try, and I wished I had ordered the same thing, which is saying something because I really liked the Bison. It was that good. Our daughter had the wagyu burger, which I didn't try but got positive responses and smiles from her during the meal. We will definitely be back, and will make sure we get a reservation. We made a last minute decision to go here so we ended up sitting at the bar. Next time we'll try to sit outside, really looked like a great place to share a meal and do some Old Market people watching. read more

I liked this place and menu. I had a group of 13, we had all the apps, they were the best part of the meal. I didn't have any cocktails but my party seemed to enjoy all theirs. I had the Waygu, steak ordered medium and it was prepared rare. The wait staff seemed to be doing their best but they were short of help so I didn't send my meal back. We had a lemon basil sorbet, the cheesecake, and the donut holes. The sorbet was refreshing, and the donut holes were not too sweet. Our waiter would have been a star employee at Applebee's, not the kind of vibe you want when being served a $50 steak. We felt very rushed, timing was off, and he seemed like he wanted to turn the table even though the restaurant was 25% full. We started with the pork buns and Brussels sprouts, both of which were fantastic. You are able to bring your own bottle of wine for a cork fee of $25. For entrees we had MORE pork buns (they were that good), the arugula salad and the porcini dusted cordia. Food was amazing, our server was great and extremely attentive. Such a fun new place! Love the uniqueness of the glow garden. Our waitress Nancy was sweet and even gave us a tour of the restaurant. The food was delicious as well! I had the truffle pasta which had a great variety of different mushrooms, not just your standard sliced white mushrooms. Bread was a little hard even for a baguette. Didn't matter tho much because the sauce was so good I didn't even want bread. My husband had the pork shank and it was truly fall off the bone. Very unique find in omaha. Before you start your dining experience make sure you go check out their indoor plant selection downstairs. It's just fun to see something different and self sustaining in Omaha. We made reservations this time around and it's a good idea for the weekend. We were greeted pretty fast and our waiter attended to us pretty quickly. The drinks are great and the star was PBJ. Everyone at our table ended getting one. The old fashion was pretty good too! Don't skip the pork buns. Very crispy pork belly with a nice warm soft outer bun. The flavor was balanced with a hint of spice but does not overwhelm the taste of the pork. The bun was not soaked in sauce which is a big plus! We had the charcuterie board which also gave a good balance of meat and cheese! Yes, you'll be surprised at how good the chicken liver mousse taste. I don't particularly like patte so this was a nice surprise. The price of the board was a little high for what it is. We also had the salmon for our main dish. Again interesting flavors of sweet and tangy but does not overpower the natural flavors of the bak Choi and lentils. But honestly I had the hamburger and it wasn't great it was overpriced not cooked right but the sauce and the fries were delicious we also had the truffle pasta and it was amazing I was depressed I didn't order it I'm now on antidepressants because of it please pray for my health. We got the pork buns and brussels sprouts for appetizers. Let me tell you...those pork buns are melt in your mouth good. Very soft, slightly salty, a little tangy from the kimchi. The brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious. They are served with dried cranberries, which I was nervous about - not to worry. They were delicious together. I had the fried chicken. Served on a bed of mac & cheese, with a little cup of their hot sauce, covered in little onions and pickles. It was seasoned well, perfectly crispy, tasted great with the hot sauce on it. I felt bad for not ordering something like their wine-marinated bison, which is what my partner got (delicious) but I really did feel like my food was as good as it possibly could have been.
