What a lovely little spot! Sunny and open floor plan is complemented by the lacquered wood bar/countertops and the subway tile and wood paneling on the walls are nice accents. I absolutely adore the playlist they have and it's at an optimal volume to allow for conversations without being distracting. Also, if you can't appreciate the amount of Edison light bulbs in this place, noticing details is something you are missing out on! The 'plates' are sections from what I believe to be actual trees and they are delightful. The presentation of the food is simply and exquisitely executed. All visible areas of the drink preparation area are super clean and tidy for those who wonder about the state of cleanliness of a restaurant, I assume that the actual kitchen is on the same level. Finally, let's talk the food. I ordered the veggie wrap and a vanilla lavender latte. The latte was perfect and the wrap delicious. However, the wrap did not arrive as advertised. It did not contain the sprouts or any of the three types of peppers as stated on the menu but was nevertheless enjoyable. I had the fresh fruit cup as a side and though I could tell they prepare said fruit in-house, it was apparent that it had been cut some time before I had ordered it. The grapes were delicious, the orange bland, and in spite of the apples being how they should be, they were slightly brown but no big deal, it's to be expected. This place is beautiful inside! It's also very spacious. Their menu consists of coffees, lattes, espresso, organic smoothies, black and tans, and they also offer nitro infused coffee. Foods include avocado toast, pastries, and bakery items. I ordered a vanilla latte, my sister ordered a nitro infused cold brew and a cinnamon muffin. Our coffees were delicious however, it literally took almost 10 minutes for them to be ready. (There were no one else inside other than a couple). They also offer coffee cups and other coffee paraphernalia. Good coffee, nice people. I'll come back for food next time. read more

Everything about this place is genuine, positive, and welcoming!! First the customer service is southern hospitality to the T! I ordered a turkey sandwich with chips, perfect taste and amount! The cinnamon roll is one of the freshest and best I have had in awhile! Lastly, the coffee is smooth, perfectly mixed, and they have plenty of milk alternatives. The only thing I would change is the coffee should be brought to the table. Not because I can't go get it, but they fill it up to the top of the cup and I almost spilled it twice. LOL. I first discovered this coffeeshop on Instagram, and the décor and atmosphere caught my eye and immediately drew me in! White and black tiles, wooden tables, and a modern, minimalistic vibe... YES! I had to know where this aesthetically pleasing coffeeshop was, and I was surprised it was located in Chesapeake of all places. They officially opened their doors as of September 1, 2017 so they're the freshest, newest coffeeshop in town. I visited them on their opening day and was warmly greeted by a welcoming staff. Their menu features the espresso essentials as well as smoothies, breakfast items, pastries, soups, sandwiches, and salads. A good point to add: they will gladly make a custom drink for you if it's not on the menu! The price range is also very reasonable. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich with a fruit cup and a caramel macchiato in a mug (but sadly only drip coffee is served in them) *sad face*, so my drink came in a to-go cup. Speaking of to-go cups, they also have mobile/online ordering, so you can order food and drinks for pick up through ChowNow! The caramel macchiato was served in a 12 oz cup, extra hot, and it's sweetness wasn't over the top like how other places make it. The chicken salad sandwich, which is composed of chunky white chicken, celery, cranberries, marinated artichoke hearts, and pecans was OH SO GOOD! Everything in the chicken salad went so well together, and the chicken was extra chunky. It was love at first bite! The fruit cup on the side contained sweet watermelon, strawberries, and honeydew. I think I made some pretty solid choices on my first of many visits. I think this coffeeshop will do very well, considering there's none like it in the area and within its proximity. Plenty of free parking, free wifi, comfy seating and lots of table space, a healthy menu, and superb drinks--what more could you ask for?? Why have I not been here before? Searched for an alternative coffee shop and lunch cafe near Home Depot in Chesapeake and what a find!! This place is perfect for meeting friends, breaking out the laptop and getting some work done, and just having a moment of serenity. There is a high top bar with outlets, outdoor tables with shade and couches/lounge chairs and then inside regular table/chairs and then comfy leather seat and couch options on the periphery. Water is free. Pastries look delicious. The soup is velvety delicious and the chicken salad is pulled and mixed with dried cranberries but its moist and tasty. The latte is artful and there are a variety of flavor options and some seasonal offerings. The cafe is large and clean and the bathrooms are always clean. Most importantly the staff are kind and professional and helpful. You bus your own plates and everyone is part of a community here. It's definitely quiet enough to study on multiple trips and yet there is a nice background of soft music and conversation. Give this spot a try but save me a seat!! read more

I usually won't ever leave a negative review but I do believe this is justified. I usually stop at Gather out of convenience bc it's right next to the gym. I've never ordered something to-go from this location and there not be something wrong. Either an item forgot completely or they still add an ingredient I've asked repeatedly to omit. Again, I return out of convenience. This has happened about 4 times now. The cashier will repeat your entire order including modifications and they will STILL get it wrong. Timeliness is also always an issue. It will be empty and staff standing around and you'll still wait 20 min for food or a smoothie. It's safe to say my household won't be returning anymore. read more

We took a chance and drove an extra 20 minutes to eat here and were glad we did. I'm not an avocado fan normally because it's generally green paste. It's fresh here, very fresh and they put a thin layer on the BLT. We also had the ham and cheese croissant and chips/hummus. Her coconut creek coffee was delicious and I had the lemonade, which was also really good. The hash brown casserole was good. The bacon in it was cooked, just not crispy enough for us. The price seemed a little pricey but given the quantities and flavor of the foods, we were satisfied with the price. I don't know why I thought I'd already written a review for my favorite coffee spot in Western Branch! I've been a happy customer since they first opened. While the coffee is great, I love the ambience and décor of this place (think Chip and Joanna Gaines). There's a variety of seating from comfy chairs with USB charging ports (strong free wifi!) to bar stools at the counter and window seating. Bathrooms are always clean and there's a cool meeting room available that can be reserved for a fee as well. In addition to the above you can sign up to get rewarded for your purchases. The aroma of coffee and allure of leather chairs and wood paneling greet you in a restaurant that has a very modern feel to it. The beverages are great- I had a latte and my wife a chai tea. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. The baked goods look great and taste even better (the red velvet cupcake was delicious!). Pros: Friendly staff, awesome coffee and I'm in LOVE with the "classic smoothie." They use vegan protein powder and it's delicious. The big con: Staff do not know how to multi task. This is a consistent problem. If I order an item that takes a while to make, such as pour over coffee, please get that item started before attending to other less time-consuming items. Even when ordering simpler items it can take a while to receive order. I disregarded the first few times it happened because there were a lot of customers. Since then I've timed it on four separate occasions and it takes an average of 13 minutes to get my coffee and smoothie. I hope this can be remedied with training or by having the kitchen staff member assist when it's busy. I really love the coffee and other items UPDATE 1/2/2019: Have been back multiple times at different times of day since the last review. They have been packed most times, but there are more staff at the front and orders do not take a long time at all. So glad, as this is a great little coffee shop! read more

Recently revisited Gather and loved it all over again! I tried two items that I didn't try on my last visit and equally liked both just as much as I liked what I had last time! I went for the multigrain croissant which was served warm and with butter and tasted great! For my drink, I tried a frappe flavored with lavender and topped with whip! I loved the drink as it had just enough hints of lavender without making it too flowery or overwhelming! My only feedback is that they don't have skim or nonfat milk to add to frappes so be aware of that if you plan to order!
