Came here under duress. My super pregnant wife was not having a good airport morning. Delays, swelling, and me existing were all personal attacks in her book. A young girl walking in to clock in for her shift. She hadn't even punched in yet, but she saw the meltdown happening at Gate B5 and jumped in like a popcorn paramedic. She suggested we try their caramel corn to take the edge off. No hard sell, just real talk: "Salt + sugar fixes most airport moods." We walked two gates down to her restaurant and grabbed a big bag. Result? Instant attitude adjustment. My wife went from plotting my demise to sharing the popcorn and holding my hand. The rest of our trip was smooth sailing after that. The popcorn: Fresh, warm, perfect sweet-salty balance. Hits the exact craving you didn't know you had. The service: 10/10. The employee wasn't even on the clock yet but still cared enough to intervene in a domestic airport crisis. That's above-and-beyond customer service. The vibe: Lifesaving. If you're traveling with a super pregnant, upset spouse, find this place. The popcorn is great, but the staff's emotional intelligence is Michelin-star level. Will be buying bags for every flight from now on. Thanks for saving my marriage and our vacation Jessica! read more

Stopped here to try a fresh batch. It was great. I was able to tell them how much of each since I'm more of a salty vs a sugary guy. Came out great. Medium bag was about 8 bucks which isn't bad. Line moved quickly. Watched couple in front of me order a huge tin....not sure how they will get onto the plane but. Rang out quickly and had a snack at the terminal. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean. read more

This was a quick stop at the airport and to my delight there was a Garrett's right next to my gate! Thank GOD! I definitely got the cheeses and caramel pecan crisp. So flavorful and fluffy this popcorn is. The service was quick and courteous. Hey is an airport so it's a busy location. The only reason Garrett gets 3 stars is because the popcorn is delicious. As I was on my way to my next gate. I walked over to see what flavor they had it wasn't a lot maybe 5 at best. I asked what the Garrett mix consist of and the last said, cheddar and caramel. I ended up ordering a petite tin ($13.50) The customer service was absolute trash. The 2 employees there they never smiled nor greeted me and kind of looked like they didn't want to be bothered the way I felt rushed to make my purchase. They never said, Thank you! For me customer service is everything. The little store front is cute however. I would stop by again though as the popcorn is good. read more

Just as I remember it over my lifetime. The fact that they have two locations at Midway Airport kept me from having to ride downtown to get some from the Michigan Ave store. Prices are ridiculous though. I remember getting the same size (L) for less than $10 as an '80s kid. Now it's $35. Grand total $39+change, tax included. Who knew the popcorn business was going to turn out to be so lucrative? Yikes. Luckily it's still delicious...smoky, caramelly, deliciousness. I only get the caramel. Service was nice and the place is cutesie, as they extracted all of my money. read more

OMG the staff was spunky and attentive. Prompt service. Loved getting snacks for the SWA crew to brighten up their day.

Garrett is always a stop on the off chance I end up with a layover in Chicago! While I really like the Garrett mix (caramel and cheese popcorn) I could eat far too much cheese popcorn if left to my own devices! (Wish I would have purchase a bigger bag this time around!) read more

I am a sucker for Garrett's Popcorn and was excited to see their expansion within Midway. The first Garrett's we went to was closing down for the night, but luckily this one is open later. Popcorn options are standard and IMO the Garrett's mix is always the way to go. There wasn't really a line while we were there and got and in and out quickly. The popcorn was as tasty as usual! read more

Best airport snack! Found this Garrett's near Gate B14 in Midway. Despite the mid-week airport rush, the staff moved the line fast. We opted for separate jumbo bags of CaramelCrisp and CheeseCorn this time to mix at home. Great service and even better popcorn. An essential for any Chicago layover. read more

This location is in the Chicago midway airport in concourse B. I happen to have a lay over in Chicago and wanted something cheap but quick. Sometimes there's a long line but they go super fast and the service is really amazing! I recommend going here if you want a quick snack because most of the places that sell food are WAY TOO expensive and honestly not good. It's not really a sit down place just where you grab and go. I debating on whether to get the Garrett mix (cheese + caramel) or buttery and decided on buttery just to be safe. It's honestly good for what popcorn goes except it's technically not fresh but I don't mind! It's super buttery just like movie popcorn. If you don't like salt/butter probably would go for one of the sweeter flavors! The small was the perfect amount for me so I recommend getting smaller portions unless you want left overs. read more

We had a layover in the Midway Chicago airport, and I got a small bag of buttery Garrett popcorn for a snack. Like everything in an airport, it is pricey, but I felt like I got a good portion for the price. The smallest size bag is still shareable, but my husband prefers Chicago mix, so I ate the leftovers the next day- still delicious! I'm not sure how many days it keeps, but I would recommend erring on the safe side with a smaller size. Garrett's popcorn if you don't want a whole meal, but also don't want to spend money on a packaged snack from a shop. I love buying local products when possible, even on an airport layover. read more

Carmel popcorn mixed with cheese popcorn. Sounds weird like it would be a mashed up mess, but it is like Stacy Lattisaw and Johnny Gill...a perfect combination. The salty savory cheese is the perfect foil for the cloyingly sweet, when solo, caramel. It is addictive. Super fresh popcorn with huge kernels makes it even better. I tried the buttery flavor but it was just good, not life-altering like the cheese/caramel. I will try other flavor, maybe, one of these days. I wish they had fresh butter for the plain that you can add at the stand. The line at the airport moves fast. There are a couple of stands, but this one was by the Southwest flights. Just sniff, you will smell it. The staff was nice and the prices a little high, but well worth it. Get the biggest bag you can fit in your carry-on and be sure to get some little bags for friends and family back home (and for the flight). Five stars for my favorite popcorn other than what I make at home. read more

I already know that Garrett's Popcorn is the best anywhere! But, what I didn't know is how would an airport location of Garrett's compare to getting Garrett's at one of their locations? Usually it seems that whenever eating from a location at an airport, the quality is not quite the same as what you would get from going to the actual destination. Garrett's recently opened a location at Midway airport. I thought of that line people say about pizza. Even when it's pretty bad, it's still pretty good. Well I have had some excellent pizza, and unfortunately I have had some pretty bad pizza. And it wasn't pretty good. Regardless, being anywhere near a Garrett's required a taste test. There was a pretty good line of people waiting which usually is a good sign. I got a medium of their Chicago mix. I conducted a scientific taste test. I tasted a few pieces before our flight and then again some the next day. The results? That popcorn tasted every bit as good as every other time we have had their popcorn. Yay! Now the next test is how does their buttered popcorn at the airport compare. Can't wait until I fly out of Midway again. read more

The best part about a layover in Chicago is the opportunity to pop into a Garretts for popcorn. Here's the thing: It's stupid expensive for what it is. The experience is engineered to make you buy more than you need or want. And at the end of the day, it's maybe more than a little bit gross with greasy orange cheese powder that literally stains your fingers so powerfully that there isn't a known quantity of napkins that can help get you clean. So here's the answer: Get the smallest size possible. Thank me later. Personally, I always ask for a modified version of the Chicago Mix. For me a 1:1 ratio of cheese to caramel just doesn't work. As potent as the cheese may be, that caramel is so ridiculously sweet that even a paired piece of the orange goo can't compete with the sticky sweet sugary goo. I need two pieces of "cheese" to make the one piece of "caramel" palatable. And the inverse of that is just as true. I need one piece of the "caramel" to make two pieces of the "cheese" enjoyable. On their own, neither would be worth the calories. One is far too salty and orange. The other is way too sweet. So I ask for a modified mix with two parts cheese to one part caramel. And I fastidiously eat my bites three popped kernels at a time. Which is how I know when I get down to the bottom of a bag, how well the clerk did in abiding by my ridiculous wishes. In downtown Chicago, they do very well. Here at the airport? Maybe not as much. C'est la vie. When you are flying through this is still the only option worth a damn. So maybe splurge on one size up from the smallest, just to make sure. read more

I love Garrett Popcorn! When I am in Chicago I love it and when I pass through one of the airports, I have to get some! The line is always crazy so if I have a tight connection, it isn't always an option. Luckily this last time I had a long layover so I was able to stop and grab some popcorn for me and the family. Love the Chicago mix and the cheese. Also love th pecan caramel. The butter is good as well. Luckily I can have it shipped and if you sign up for their emails, they do run deals every so often so I can get it shipped to home if I am not going through Chicago any time soon. Love it and will continue to love it!! read more

This popcorn was spectacular, and the price was not bad either. One of the employees worked like a machine with an incredible memory, while the lady at the register was so incredibly sweet. I gave this two stars nearly based on the service. Awful!!!!! Neither server were friendly. They didn't fill either of our large bags. When questioned, all I got was a glare. All the other locations pack them much fuller. She didn't even take the time to mix the two flavors. Two shakes was all. Wow Anyone who knows the Garrett standard knows it's better than that. When paying, the server never asked if we wanted separate bags. When requested, she said it would be a dollar extra. Really???? Not. Of course who would pay for that!! So rude. I am clearly disgusted with this location. I usually give Garrett a four star but I clearly cannot give this location that. I would've given it one star but I'll give two for flavor. Awful experience and I HOPE they read their reviews. read more

I how amazing this popcorn is from people that knew I was traveling to Chicago. I was glad to see that there was a location at the airport and wanted to grab some for my boyfriend. But, wow, I did not except what followed.... The young woman scooping popcorn not only had an awful attitude but as she was taking my order, she took her gloved hands and picked up the back of her pants, UNDER her shirt. She then proceeded to scoop my ($50) bucket of popcorn... WITHOUT changing her gloves. That goes against any kind of food handling standards. I have a ServSafe certification and this is completely unacceptable. I tried to discreetly get the attention of the cashier to let her know what happened. Her response was for ME to talk to the lady about it. That is also out of line and not customer service at all. The popcorn woman then argued with me that she didn't do such thing, then she, in exact order: - took off her gloves - grabbed a new bucket - put the gloves on - angerly scooped a bucket - tossed it - and pretty sure I her call me a b**** under her breath How about train your employees to handle your food product properly ? And not be awful? That would be awesome! read more

Anytime I'm at Midway or O'Hare I have to stop at Garrett's for my popcorn (or in Chicago)! Midway, located at gates B1, O'Hare located in United terminal gate B7. Follow the popcorn aroma's to this shop, you won't be disappointed. Always long lines, but the team seems to work quickly. I recommend the cheddar popcorn or the caramel corn (buttery and caramely). My favorite is the City Mix, they mix both caramel corn and cheddar popcorn in the bag. It's packaged in a wax paper and a paper bag, so it stays fresh and crunchy for at least 3 days. They sell various sizes from a small bag to a 5 gallon tin (like this will fit under your airplane seat?) perhaps the overhead storage? My favorite popcorn shop. read more

This location has become a regular spot as we pass through during flights out and home. They're open early so it's easy to grab some popcorn on the go, even when you have morning flights. The giant Garrett sign out front is fun to snap a photo with and even when it's busy the line moves quickly. Their staff members are really nice as well and on my latest trip I saw some of the same people working both times I stopped by, and both times they had me leaving with a big smile and plenty of popcorn. They have all the classic flavors and it's all fresh and ready to eat. The smaller bags are great for snacking at the airport and the Jumbo bags are perfect for taking home for plenty of snacks to come. They do offer the tins here as well, but if you're travelling still the smaller tins or bags are the way to go. The big tins are great if you're at your final destination, you can also have them shipped to you online. read more

Neither of them had ever had it before. They cannot wait to try more flavors. We went with the original this time because it's the BEST!! If I was still working, and she lived on Long Island, NY, I would have attempted to steal her away :) I thought u should know about this special young woman, I hope this makes it to her upper management.
