Very good Italian food with excellent service. They feature a wide variety of dishes and the servers are friendly and courteous.

The place itself is dark / rundown and could use a thorough refreshing. Parking lot is rutted gravel. There is a small bar and a dining area lit with strings of small lights. Waitresses come to the table. We take out pizza from Garramone's, because it is better than any place nearby. The dough is Not yeasty and the cheese is not a hard plaque. The mushrooms are not from a can. The sauce is flavorful with oregano and garlic; the sausage has good Italian flavor. We used to like the chicken francaise and meatball sandwich, too. But now "fine dining" is so expensive! So we take out the pizza. read more

Had a wonderful dinner with family. Appetizer of rice balls was amazing. Everyone loved their dinners. Chicken parm, linguini with Alfredo sauce and broccoli, spaghetti, meatball with long hots and steak. Dinners came with salads and bread. Which a lot don't do anymore. So very much appreciated that. Visiting the area from NH (and following a terrible dinner last night at Kratzy's), I looked around for something different. Garramone's was close to my Airbnb, so I gave it a try. As a solo diner, I was seated in the middle of everybody else, but I didn't mind at all, it made for interesting people-watching. My server, Misty, was extremely friendly, super attentive, and incredibly on point. And, it was even her birthday! A local dish intrigued me, Shrimp Riggie, but I'd never heard of it before and decided to give it a try. Misty made recommendations to tweak it (especially adding cheese on top, and adjusting the heat level). It was absolutely delicious! Perfectly spicy, perfectly flavorful. I couldn't have been more pleased with my dinner, or the portion; I gladly had my leftovers the next morning for breakfast. Yes, the building looks dated from the outside and the sign could use updating, and even though right now staffing is a common issue (which was well-posted on the way in), I got no sense of that tonight, no doubt due to Misty's cheerful diligence. We went here for dinner on a Sunday in August (2024). A busy time of year and a night that many people choose to dine out. Thus one would expect that the dishes on their menu would be fresh and ready to serve. NOPE!! We looked at the few specials being offered. My husband decided on the Ahi Tuna dish. The waitress informed us that they were out of it. His next choice was the steak/lobster/chicken trio dish. Again, the waitress informed us that they were out of that, too. I chose the twin lobster tail meal. Ummmm...yup, I was informed that they were out of lobster tails. At this point we were so disappointed and disgusted that we got up and left. My advice? If you're planning to make the trip to Garramone's for a meal...call first to see what they DO have that is actually available on their menu. read more

We only ordered here today because of convenience. We know the food is sub paar. I called after looking at this menu. We ordered a medium with 10 wings and chicken fingers. On this menu, that says Garramones, it is $22.50 for a medium and 10 wings. I said to the young lady taking my order....I would like a medium with 10 wings, that's $22, right? She said yup, we also have a a large and 20 wings. I said ok I would like the medium and 10 wings for $22 and chicken fingers. She said ok. When we got there they had charged us $48! He started arguing with a woman who eventually said the owner is the only person that can do anything. My husband said, ok, may I speak to him. She told him he wasn't there. Then after another minute of telling my husband it was his fault, she goes to get the owner. He comes out and says they don't update any of that, only their Facebook page, and they pay a company to take care of the web page. I would think if you are paying a company you would keep an eye on it to make sure your company is being represented correctly so you do not lose customers, like they did today. Also, when I go to order something I look it up on the web, not Facebook. So, we paid $48 for aweful food. We won't be back....EVER! read more

I am local resident have been going to garramones for years have never had problem, but tonight it was horrible, horrible, I wanted to punch this waitress in the head she was very rude. I understand that you are busy but it does not take 45 minutes for a meal and then we asked what was taking so long she looks at us and says we'll look around you we are busy we had been there since 600pm and it was 7pm when we walked up to the bar to pay for what we had drinks and a salad,she says thanks for coming how was your meal I said wouldn't know haven't gotten are food we would like to pay for what we had so sorry the bartender says, then the girl comes out with our food she says I have your food do you want it by this time my husband is not happy he told her to keep it. Needless to say we will not be back. So thanks for nothing it was a great anniversary not!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Service was the worst! They were out of a lot of things and waited forever for bread and appetizers. When I asked our waitress she got all huffy, went into the kitchen and came back with our bread and Utica Greens and TOSSED the bread onto our table. We made the comment about her throwing the bread on table and she got worse. She left and came back telling us we had to leave now and they wouldn't charge us for the drinks & greens. We didn't leave right away as we're eating the greens and bread and finishing our drink. Then Mr Garramone comes out and tells us to leave. We were trying to explain to him that she threw the bread on table , he said "I don't believe you" . We aren't young or trouble makers. My sister is 74 my girlfriend and I 68, my son 48. I tried to say was a long time customer and been going there since 1973 with my grandfather & father and he said "don't do any name dropping ".Seriously not saying Harrison Ford or some famous person. Anyway we were told to leave and never come back and that he didn't believe us. I don't think we were the only ones that had issues that night as the table of 5 behind us only left a $5 tip Needless to say we'll never go back read more

Looking for a place to eat in the area, there aren't too many options. But the menu looked good. They had a warning sign that they were short staffed and it might take additional time, but it really didn't affect our service. Great server and everything we ate was really tasty. We had the Italian nachos (we are already talking about going back for more) shrimp Alfredo and veal parmigiana. Good sized portions, and we had plenty of leftovers that will feed us for a couple days! We definitely recommend this place, and will be taking others here. Oh! They have their issues, but the food is not one of them. Our waitress was very pleasant and the portions are plentiful. If the Italian nachos are on the menu you owe it to yourself to get them. Delicious. I had the Veal Parm with extra cheese. Very good. The sauce is just sweet enough and the veal was done perfectly. And no they did not skimp on the extra cheese. Clam chowder was very creamy and loaded with clam. Very tasty. She had the Shrimp Alfredo. Shrimp were huge, Alfredo was super creamy. Generous portion. Plenty for leftovers. Very disappointed! On vacation with my family, reviews online made it sound really good, old school Italian. Scallops were bland and tiny, weirdly sauced, way over priced! They seem to just not care anymore. Prices are up and service and quality are down. The food preparation person is seriously lacking in any culinary skills. The waitress doesn't notice or care that the plate of food is quite crappy. The owner is just counting the till at the counter oblivious to what's going on in HIS establishment. They won't be here in future years, the writing is on the wall. Such a shame. The best fine dining in the area. Think old school Italian steak house. . Booths with lights on them, Italian favorites and prime rib are what's on the menu. The staff is great. Very family friendly and good for groups. Small fully stocked bar that can make fancy adult drinks as well. High chairs available. No changing station in the restroom. read more

WIll NOT EAT HERE AGAIN! Used to be a regular summer customer here and can guarantee that after the past few visits I will NOT eat there again. To summarize this recent visit in one word I would say embarrassing. Customer service was absolutely terrible and poor. We couldn't even get refills on drinks. Next off the proportions were embarrassingly small. We paid 19.99 for 4 scallops as a dinner item. 8 of us were there eating and not only were the portions small but no one was satisfied with the quality of food. My husband and I had dinner at Garramone's last night. He had wonderful Ravioli with hot pepper and I had this amazing lasagne for only $9. It is HUGE. I will easily get 4 meals out of this. Went here for dinner when we found the Buffalo Head closed for the season. The waitress was very polite. Seated us immediately. Good was okay. Not our favorite, but not terrible. Saranac on tap which is cool. All in all, not sure if we'd go back, but if you're like us and in the area looking for a place to go, this place is okay. read more

Normally I would give this restaurant at least a 4-star rating but after my family's experience a few nights ago, I have to say that I would never dine here again, which does make me pretty sad. The food here has always been wonderful, their hats pasta is made in-house and is always amazing, I get it with every meal that I've ordered there. I am truly saddned that the experience on Saturday, 5/23 was enough to drive us out the door (literally). We made reservations in advance for our party of 11 people (which was really 9 adults, one child and a toddler). I understand that 11 people is a decent sized group, I've waited tables before myself, but I do not understand why it took 45 minutes for people at our table to get even just the non-alcoholic beverages. We have been to Garramone's many times before and have seen the restaurant much busier than it was and have had superb service before with little to no extended wait for parties the same size as the one we were in this night. I understand that some restaurants have off nights but the service this night was particularly bad. Nothing unforgiveable though. 3 of our party ordered the scallops off of the specials menu and all received them cold when our food finally came out. We had to wait for drink refills for a long amount of time and were told when we asked for a pitcher of unsweetened tea so that our server wouldn't have to keep running back and forth for refills, that they "can't do that. Its just not something that we do.". We were able to see that the manager and a few of the servers were having some sort of issue at the ordering station that the orders are put in to, and the manager seemed very aggravated from what we could plainly see in the middle of the restaurant, as could the rest of the dining patrons that were pointing and whispering about whatever it was that may have been going on. The service by the end of our meal was enough that we asked if there was anything that could be done for our check, maybe just a 10% off of the meals that were delivered cold, or even one of the kid's meals that came out after the rest of the meals? That is when the proverbial nail was put in to the casket. The manager came around the corner and, without even giving any of us the opportunity to speak (none of our party were mad or upset by any means, we were unsatisfied customers that had a reasonable request and would have still come back in the future), began to berate us in a raised voice with waving hand gestures loud enough that the other diners in our vicinity gawped at her. She said that it was a holiday weekend, they were busy, if we didn't like the service we were welcome to go dine somewhere else, and told us that they didn't need our business. I tried to say that we understood that it was a holiday but we made advance reservations and said that it just seemed that they were unprepared and that our server should maybe have asked for some help a little earlier on in the night so that things could maybe have gone more smoothly. Or I would have said all of that if she had given me the chance to finish before she made the "shush" hand gesture at me and told me that it didn't matter, we were welcome to leave then. I have never left a dining establishment so angry before in my life. We later found out that the manager on duty was Joanne Garramone, one of the owners. No food is worth being belittled for. I was dumbfounded that a manager, much less an owner or family member of the owner could speak to a table full of loyal customers in front of the entire dining room in such a way. I have never witnessed or experienced anything like that before and hope to never be humiliated like that again in an establishment that is getting my money for any service. There are other places to go in the future, and we will go to them instead of ever darkening the doors of Garramone's again, so is the attitude and level of customer appreciation that we were given. Don't expect the Garramones to have any empathy if you have a problem at their restaurant. Don't expect them to have a civil attitude about it either. Don't try to speak to them about any issues that you do have with their service unless you are prepared to be berated, belittled, and yelled at in front of the entire restaurant. The only reason this review has one star at all is because there has to be a rating and their bartender is very nice and cordial. read more

We have been regular patrons of Garramones for years and usually go there for their salmon dinners. However the last 2 out of 3 times the meal was served with no vegetable. The dinner includes the salmon, a potato, and broccoli. No compensation is offered for running out of the vegetable. What restaurant doesn't have a substitute to offer? Not planning on going back any time soon. read more
