    Shrimp Riggie
    Bill W.

Visiting the area from NH (and following a terrible dinner last night at Kratzy's), I looked around for something different. Garramone's was close to my Airbnb, so I gave it a try. As a solo diner, I was seated in the middle of everybody else, but I didn't mind at all, it made for interesting people-watching. My server, Misty, was extremely friendly, super attentive, and incredibly on point. And, it was even her birthday! A local dish intrigued me, Shrimp Riggie, but I'd never heard of it before and decided to give it a try. Misty made recommendations to tweak it (especially adding cheese on top, and adjusting the heat level). It was absolutely delicious! Perfectly spicy, perfectly flavorful. I couldn't have been more pleased with my dinner, or the portion; I gladly had my leftovers the next morning for breakfast. Yes, the building looks dated from the outside and the sign could use updating, and even though right now staffing is a common issue (which was well-posted on the way in), I got no sense of that tonight, no doubt due to Misty's cheerful diligence. I would go back here in an instant.

Now that is a platter of lasagna..... I had to add this picture. Delicious. Another fine meal in Forestport. Red sauce was perfect. Reliable Italian food. Always good to the last bite.

That being said the staff were very friendly and efficient, they took great care of us. There is two sides to sit, bar or restaurant. We choose restaurant, from here you can see your food coming up for service and it pretty much ensures your meal comes to you hot and quickly. We had the lobster Mac and cheese and a Delmonico steak. I had a starter portion of the Mac and cheese and it was huge !! It could have had a few more pieces of meat but it was tasty and cheesy. My husbands steak was cook perfectly, juicy and had good flavor. On this my only note would be a salad should come with it, not be a substitute for a veg, but I'm sure thats to do with today's price points. Our meal with drinks, about $70+ and for the food fair, the bottle of soda at $5 was a little steep. All in all a nice place to stop and eat/relax and we enjoyed ourselves, we come to the area from time to time and will stop again.

Our waitress was nice enough - she was also the bartender. We came here to try the wings - which were highly recommended to us. We tried to order the wings, and they were out of both the bone in and boneless wings. Bummer. I tried to order an entree, and they were out of that as well. Ended up ordering the chicken parm. My husband ordered the steak with creamy risotto. We split the fried mozzarella to start. Our meals came with side salads which were mostly onion and served with a very thick ranch dressing (almost like a veggie dip.) Not the worst salad I've had, but weird. The fried mozzarella turned things around for us - this was absolutely delicious. Thick, crispy, triangles with an incredible cheese pull on top of marinara sauce. My chicken parm was MASSIVE, and it was also super delicious. The marinara was good, the chicken was fried and crispy. My husbands steak was perfect. It was thick, well seared, and cooked just the way he likes it. The side of creamy risotto left a bit to be desired, but the steak made up for it. Overall, the food was good but the atmosphere was a bit strange. It was very quiet and bright in the dining area. It felt uncomfortable being the only two in the restaurant and the music was dead quiet on top of that. I can't say that we would come back, but the food was good! It left us wondering why the restaurant was so empty!

Even with how crowded it was, the service was absolutely top notch from start to finish. Attentive, professional, and well-paced without ever feeling rushed. The ambiance is classic upscale steakhouse with a modern feel, lively but still comfortable enough for conversation, making it a great spot for a business dinner or group outing. We enjoyed bottles of great red Merlot, which paired perfectly with the meal and added to the overall experience. We started with a Caesar salad that was very fresh and served with anchovies, which in my opinion is what makes a true Caesar and it did not disappoint. I ordered the sea bass, which had a really cool presentation and was cooked nicely. It felt elevated and thoughtfully prepared. The lobster bisque looked beautiful presentation-wise but was just okay in flavor. It lacked depth and richness and I found myself rushing through it. The family-style sides were excellent and more than enough for our party of six. The creamed spinach and mushrooms were both very good and everyone at the table loved them. As for the steaks, everyone was extremely happy. Our group tried a variety of the available cuts and each one was cooked properly and thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, TS Steakhouse delivered a great dining experience with excellent service, strong ambiance, quality food, and standout sides. I would definitely return, especially for a group dinner or special occasion.

The bar was full, and the food was looking and smelling delicious. We were seated fairly quickly, despite the mayhem. We were given warm bread and butter to start, but we also shared garlic scallion clams. The clams were warm, buttery, and super garlicky. And the bread was great to dip into the extra sauce! I ordered the French onion soup, which was packed with cheese and had a great broth. My Husband got soup with his entree, and he got the soup of the day which happened to be corn chowder. The chowder was super thick and had lots of veggies. He said it was delicious. My Husband got the Delmonico steak as his entree, which came with a twice baked potato and veggies. The steak was cooked perfectly and was smothered with mushrooms and onions. I had entree envy. I got the open faced roast beef with fries. I had the Seafood Alexander (amazing). Their steaks were tender and delicious. The service was top notch. The Owner, Charlie, came around to the tables to check on us. We made reservations at the last minute, so we ended up in the "overflow" room, which was in a seperate room from the main restaurant. We were extra excited by what seemed to be their signature dish, steak and mashed potatoes. Well, we had an 8pm reservation, which to me is normal time, but seems to be like a last seating for this restaurant. The place was full upon entering but emptied out quickly during our meal experience. It was just our immediate family of 4. Started with cocktails and proceeded to order the seafood trio app, which was good. Wedge salad, which was also good. Had a nice waitress who had a good sense of humor. The rest went downhill. We all ordered different types of steaks and 3 of 4 medium rare, one NY Strip medium. Ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and some other accompanying sauces. All 3 steaks came out in variations of well done - gross! On an even more disappointing note, we were told there is no more mashed potatoes, which is why we chose this place, and then told only 2 baked potatoes, so we had to decide who gets it and who doesn't. A TERRIBLE thing to happen at a steak restaurant, in addition to ruining what seemed to be quality steaks. The Brussel sprouts came out overly well done drenched in their sauce. Bite into any of them and they were totally deflated and not good. We couldn't even eat it. The waitress came back and asked how things were... my wife's fillet was so over cooked the waitress even agreed and offered to remake. By this time it was almost 9:15 and she lost her appetite. The three of us just didn't mention how ours were because it would have just caused chaos that none of us wanted. We NEVER send back food, but in this case, hers was insanely overcooked. We asked to have it removed from the bill, which they did. Regardless, we dropped $430, including a $70 tip (because I am generous... waitress should have done a lot more for us when noticing the quality of what was served to us) for the 4 of us, with only 3 main meals. Just a real poor experience. I'm hoping this was just an isolated happening, but completely upset it happened to us for my daughter's graduation, son's 25th Bday and our 27th Anniversary. All that weekend. Advice to owner: please ensure you have enough product for your reservations. We were not walk-ins. Then, listen to the customer's request for how they prefer their steaks to be cooked and serve as ordered. 8pm reservation should not make a difference from a 6pm. I'm just really disappointed and wish we went to Ts instead, but liked the idea of smaller and more intimate.
