Rocky was excellent, he came the very next morning and changed the locks quickly and superbly. He's also very nice and was Covid safe. I would highly recommend Rocky at Garo's Locksmith! read more

I'm an apartment manager, this place has been the only place in the area that has ever been able to handle the type of key need replicated. Awesome! read more

5 stars = 5 reasons i'm glad my wife went to Garo's today. 1. It took less than 90 seconds for her to get 3 keys made. 2. THERE IS PARKING 3. she paid WAY less than i have paid at hardware stores. shockingly less. 4. she was treated well. 5. she was quoted a really good price on a key that will need a manufacture's chip. much less than the dealership would quote me. My keys were stollen last night, and if the cops don't find them, i'll be going back to Garo's to get my Car Key as well. read more

Many years ago I used a locksmith that was recommended to me by a friend. His helper was the locksmith that now owns Garo's so I have continued with Garo's since my original guy has retired. In the past, I was very satisfied with his service. But now I have reason to go elsewhere. Rocky (Garo's) came this week in my response to a no longer working bedroom door lock in our historically designated home. Rocky suggested he would pick up two replacement locks (as there was some problem with another one and I thought I might need two). He arrived with the two, reproduction locks, in silver, not gold finish to match our home. Not a big deal as I only wanted to use the guts of the lock and keep my antique doorknobs and plates. Changed the one out and said just keep the 2nd one as you may need it later. Huh, I thought, well OK. On the receipt he charged me $150 for two installed locks plus a $48 service charge. Adding tax means I wrote a check for $211.50. On a hunch the next day I went to Home Depot to look for such a lock. There they were for $21.97. Yep, he charged me 200+% mark-up per lock. I am now looking for an honest locksmith. read more

Copied 2 sets of 4 keys (8 keys total!!) for $20. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. He copied even the ones that say Do Not Duplicate on them (mailbox and lobby key). Other locksmiths I asked require a letter from the apartment manager or some bullcrap. So much trouble for lost keys. His hours are on and off, depending if he gets an emergency call or not, so I would call to see if he's there before heading out. read more

These guys are awesome! I lost my keys when I was in San Diego for the weekend, and AAA had to come and make me a new key for my car. All my spare keys had to be programmed to the new key that AAA made, so I called Garo's via a reference. Very honest, friendly, straightforward and reasonable. They quoted me around $60 for one key over the phone (depending on how difficult it would be to program). It ended up taking longer than expected (45min - 1 hour) and I brought an extra key to program. He charged me a total of $70. Extremely reasonable, honest, and friendly people. Highly recommend them!! read more

Good experience. I believe he went by Rocky. He was great. Super nice and extremely efficient. He copied the keys faster than I could take them off my key ring. Reasonably priced. I paid 2 bucks each. I had about 20 keys copied and I think I was only there for a total of 5 minutes. The keys appear to be well done. I will find out when I test them tonight. I recommend this vendor. read more

Rocky is the kindest, most compassionate man. I am so glad I had to have my rental car key replaced (the service at the car rental place was so poor that when I called them, they were like "Uhhhh...call a locksmith?") I was stranded on Sunset in the heat and I called Rocky. He was by my side in less than half an hour, didn't leave me until I could safely get in my car and drive away (the car rental place gave us incorrect info about the car so it took a long time to get the key correct. He was so kind and patient and didn't leave my side.). I am so appreciative of his quickness, kindness, friendliness...I was on vacation in LA and this incident could've ruined everything. Instead, I made a friend. Thank you, Rocky!!!! read more

Garo's Locksmith - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I would give him 10 stars if I could! Everyone else I called to let me in my locked apartment wanted to charge me over 100$ for one lock! He was here in 10 min, opened my door in 2 min and charged HALF of what everyone else did. I cannot recommend this place more! He will be the ONLY locksmith I use in LA from now on. Really don't waste your time or money with anyone else! read more

5 star service. I have this man on call for a building a friend manages. He is always prompt, quick to resolve the issue, and reliable. Hard traits to find these days. Makes key copies fast with little wait time. He can cut most car key, but some he cannot do, which vary from vehicle to vehicle. The store is located on Santa Monica and Normandie in a small front on Santa Monica. Parking is available on the street and the parking lot in the shopping center. Looking for a quick and painless locksmith with reasonable rates? You found it! read more

I was in a sticky situation on 12am. I lost my keys to get in the house and my door was locked to my room too. I had to stay at my friends house til the morning. I called and the owner picked up and called back with cell phone and I text him my address. I was lucky to have the guys at Garo's to come to my house and unlock my door in a couple mins. He charged me $55 dollars. Was worth it. If I am ever in a similar situation or if you are do call Garo's Locksmith. Friendly, fast and affordable. 5 star business! :) read more

Garo is one of the best.... Works with us locally at our business all the time and hasn't failed on a single job. Timely and professional. Highly recommended. read more

Rocky was awesome! He is expeditious, diligent, professional, and down to earth. Changed my locks in no time, charged a reasonable price, and even assisted me in bringing down a broken TV. Thanks again. read more

Love this guy! Got a sticky key? No problemo...he'll make you a new one that works just fine, using your old, busted key as the "original." And he charged me a dollar. A dollar! You can even bring in those specialty keys painted like your sports team, and he'll make a key that outshines Home Depot every day of the week. I've been here twice, the key worked so well, I had him replace my other ones. Don't replace your sticky lock, first try having a key made here...saved so much money. read more

Garo can copy Medeco keys, which is reason alone for five stars. He seems to allow himself sort of flexible hours and can't copy typical mailbox keys (don't know if that's just temporary)--but still, five stars. read more

He's the only guy in Los Ángeles that can do medeco keys and work. He's amazing and saved my life

The key to my Saturn was worn down and thus it was hard to start- required a LOT of random wiggling around and such. However, it still worked fine in the door. Ralphie (think I'm getting his name right) pretty quickly diagnosed the problem: Not only was my key worn but the weight of my keychain over the years was wearing on the ignition as well. That's why it didn't seem to work the same in ignition vs. door. So, he made 2 fresh keys - one that works great in the ignition and one that works great in the door. A simple solution to a tricky problem. He was really friendly, no-nonsense, and affordable. Awesome. Cash only. read more

Fast, simple, no fuss kind of place. Cash only!

Fast. Friendly. Easy parking in lot. Good prices. Had 20 keys made, all of them worked properly.

Great locksmith. Very friendly and fair man. And great prices too. But if you need his services, be sure to call ahead. He has his locksmith office at the above address, but he also offers mobile service in which he will come to you instead. And if he's not at his store, he will schedule a convenient time to meet up with you. I'll continue to use his services as long as he's still there in business. read more

I am from out of town and needed extra keys; he quoted a price that was very fair, and even came to the house. I am very pleased with this service. I have kept his business card! read more

Extremely helpful and informative. Great customer service. For someone that loses their keys as often as I do, I need a place like this.

Rocky definitely went above and beyond to get us copies of our apartment key that required a specific type of blank. He told me that he was going to get the blanks and 2 days later, he had them so I i brought my key to him and they all work like a charm! read more

Rocky brought the sunshine to what could have been a very cloudy day. I needed my car keys to be replaced because they had worn down a lot over the years. They weren't locking my doors as well and it was always a guessing game of whether or not I'd be able to unlock my car. Thanks to Rocky's expertise and speedy repair in 15 minutes, I was up and running in no time!! read more

Called him very early in the morning and was at my truck within 15 minutes and had my key within a half of an hour would very much recommend very friendly read more

Having problem with entrance key, had to call my usual locksmith (Archer's Lock in Glendale), Archers Lock did not have the courtesy to return my call. So i called Garos Locksmith on Monday and they were very quick to respond my service call and the problem was fixed very professionally and reasonably! Highly recommend Garo's Lock smith! ( Being a loyal customer of Archers' Lock in the past, they totally ignored me when I needed their service most. I will never use Archer's Lock service again.) read more

Truly Exceptional Service. I needed replacement keys for my vehicle on a Saturday. I called up Raffi who made the keys specific to the make and model of my car, but we then discovered that a previous owner had changed the lock. Which meant Raffi had to take apart the entire ignition on the spot so he could fabricate a new key. The amazing thing is he told me he was getting off work when he started. So I told him it could wait, but he insisted on getting the job done done. It took almost 2 hours, and he charged me a rate that was considerably better than what I was quoted on the phone from other companies. Not only that, but he advised me how I could get partial reimbursement from AAA! If you have need for a locksmith, don't bother looking through Yelp further. Raffi is as honest and professional as they come. read more

Helpful and informative person, but he was unable to help me duplicate a Medeco key, unlike what a previous reviewer had stated. Just a heads-up. read more

Had to get my car key reprogrammed (the key itself, not the fob), and Garo did it quickly. This was about a month ago, took about 20 minutes on Saturday morning, cost 70 in cash and he may have not given me a receipt (I can't exactly remember) which may be an issue if for some reason the reprogramming didn't take. Not sure if that's a thing. read more

Garo was so amazing. He made a new car key with transmitter for $50 less than I was quoted elsewhere, came to my apt in super convenient and efficient timing, waited while I had AAA install a new battery and did so with a great attitude. I would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

Great guy. Not only saved me money by confirming that the car key I needed copied did not have a chip and was just a standard $5 key, but helped oil out my car locks to make the key work again, thereby solving a mystery, at no charge. All this on a Saturday as well. read more

I'm house/ dogsitting in East Hollywood for a friend spending the summer in New York. The place is a veritable fortress of bars, steel doors, and deadbolts. Perfect for the upcoming zombie apocalypse, less than ideal when door shuts with dog, keys, etc inside. I looked on yelp, Garo's seemed close, so I gave a call. He was there in less than 10 minutes. He was extremely courteous and within another 5 minutes, the door was open. The only other time something similar happened in the area my quote ended up being a fraction of the final cost. Not so this time...the damage? A very reasonable $55. This is the only locksmith I will ever go to or refer others to. If I could give a dozen stars, I would. My friend thanks you, the liberated dog thanks you, my stomach lining and blood pressure thank you. read more
