Had a very nice breakfast here next to George Street, where Major Taylor and many cyclists before and after him have ridden up this very steep hill. Staff was friendly and helpful and I loved the big omelette I had. The side of fruit was generous, and I loved that they had fresh brewed iced tea, and that when I asked for a large, that is actually what I got. So many places give you something not much larger than a Dixie cup and have the nerve to call it large, but not here. I appreciate being dealt with honestly. Some construction going on in front when I visited, so had to enter through a side door. Food came out quickly. No complaints. read more

This Brazilian Burger delivers. Wasn't expecting it to be big. The combination of burger patty with fried egg, bacon, ham, provolone cheese is absolutely mouth watering. Bring your appetite. Fries are also good. Staffs are also friendly and the place is clean. There are enough seats. Went there during lunch time, and it was busy. The building seems to be in construction but the place is open and have great food. read more

This place is open early which is GREAT for the rare night shift worker like myself who is looking to relief-binge when I get home from work. We ordered from here for delivery recently. I love the mediterranean options offered from here, for our mains, I ordered a falafel wrap and my GF ordered a hummus and tabouli wrap. We are WHORES for appetizers and had to try their homemade spinach pie. I was also particularly in the mood for something slutty and cheesy AND wanted to give the lipase in my GI tract something to do while all of the other digestive enzymes were working on the falafel wrap, so I tossed in an order of their mozzarella sticks. Finally, I do not know if I am capable of not ordering fries when they are offered so I added an order of those. I went back and forth between small and large but ultimately large is literally only $ 0.76 more than the small so I had to be financially responsible. The spinach pie was THICK and LOADED with spinach and feta. This was pretty good and authentic-tasting. It came with a greek salad that was frankly fucking delicious. The lettuce was romaine, not the bullshit iceberg, and all of the ingredients were fresh AF. The fries were not of the typical frozen variety. They were definitely fresh cut somewhere down the line and had a unique flavor but unfortunately were soggy AF by the time they got to us. I was too lazy to throw them in the air fryer which would have helped but this was disappointing. The mozzarella sticks, on the other hand, were definitely of the frozen variety and were disappointing. The falafel wrap that I had contained incredibly crispy falafel with fresh and plentiful veggies, including romaine and tomatoes. I personally would have preferred a pita instead of a wrap. Finally, the "sauce" was a very bitter and aggressively-tahini flavored. I LOVE a good tahini sauce as much as the next bitch but this was just not good and really detracted from the enjoyment of the wrap. I probably wouldn't order this again. As par for the course, whenever I ask my GF how her meal was, her response for the hummus and tabouleh wrap is "good". This time she added on "it was satisfying" which unfortunately doesn't help me much and doesn't really help you but it is what it is. Ultimately this place was just meh. read more

This place is awesome. The food, no matter what you get is homemade and fresh. I've had the eff.lemon soup, chicken rice soup, and tomato rice soup and all were served piping hot and fresh. The chicken kabobs and rice were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The cape colder chicken salad served on toasted wheat phoenomenal. The Greek salad wrap fresh and chock full of vegetables. The staff are so friendly and accommodating every time I visit, they never have a bad day. I highly recommend this place. read more

Ordered breakfast to - go just a sandwich and hash browns. Everything was super greasy and the hash browns were definitely frozen ones that were very poorly/under cooked. Not a great first impression I'll definitely stick with other local options. read more

Great employees, excellent food. First time here and I can clearly see why they are so busy. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good all day breakfast cafe. read more

Grab&go for those busy bee legal types, employed by the adjoining courthouse. And on a sleepy Saturday, when Armsby Abbey has a line out the door for their Founder's Breakfest celebrating Stoutfest, Garden Fresh is there to take you in. I was actually surprised at some of the inventive dishes on their brunch menu, which is also their all-the-time menu, as brekkie and lunch are served all day, every day. Eyes pulled to the New England Benedict - two poached eggs atop sliced turkey and arugula, finished with a cranberry-orange hollandaise. Fun, in theory, but here what was served: two over-poached eggs atop Boar's Head bird and baby spinach, finished with the same hollandaise you'd find anywhere else. Okay home fries, all for $9. She was lukewarm about her French toast, which she described as too heavily battered and way undercooked. Crispy bacon, fresh from a warming tin. Perhaps lunch is the sweet spot here, and if breakfast is a bust, you can always grab a smoothie or a bag of Skittles from the make-shift mart by the register. All the food of a standard diner, none of the boxcar. read more

I was planning on a lunch date with a friend during a weekday and I ended up Yelping this cute little place. Not realizing it was literally a food court style interior, although the name of the place obviously was a dead giveaway. Even though it was a weekday, the place was surprisingly busy but service was extremely fast. They have breakfast and lunch options. I ended up getting a waffle with strawberry toppings and an egg and sausage on the side. Can I just say, if you're looking for more dessert for breakfast kinda option this place is definitely a must go to! Their waffles are the perfect crunch on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside with fruit topping gave it the perfect extra something. PS It's street parking near downtown so it might be difficult to find parking... Prices are super reasonable! Staff overall extremely quick and friendly! read more

I went In before having to serve on a jury at the court house. The sign listed one price and the register rang in another. I can't believe they are charging 4+ dollars for a bagel that wasn't toasted and cream cheese on had to put on my self. It was the worst place to go. I do not recommend going there. They were not busy at 730 am. And had more staff than they needed. People just standing around not working just talking. Sad sad place. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!! read more

Lunch dishes are thoughtfully prepared. I've had the Reuben and chicken parmigiana sandwiches, and both were excellent. Can get crazy at lunch for pickups (district courthouse is right across the street, and they appear to be back in session), so ordering ahead is a good idea at lunchtime. read more

There are no lots for public parking. EVERY lot stated that if you didn't have a parking permit, your vehicle would be towed. That said, your only option is to find some metered off street parking. If I recall correctly, it's $0.25 per 15 minutes. Oooh, dear. Worcester, you need to upgrade your parking game! My H and I had a few things to do while we were in Worcester... and took longer than anticipated. This was convenient and near the shop- so we had to make a stop in. Upon entering, the cafe's a great size for a spot in downtown Worcester. It reminded me of one of UConn's cafeterias... but with muuuch nicer staff. As soon as you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a man or woman (family members?) who ask for your order. There were lots of Thanksgiving specials, so I took advantage and got the Thanksgiving Lunch Special for $8.99. The turkey was ok- it wasn't really seasoned but the portions were generous and it was moist. The stuffing was decent- I liked the touch of dried cranberries and walnuts. The red mashed potatoes and butternut squash were the best part of the dish, but how can you really make that wrong? My H ordered a corned beef Reuben and had no complaints. Overall, if we're in the area, we'll definitely stop by again. It's a great place to get a decent, generous portioned lunch. read more

Stopped in for lunch and grabbed a sand hand fries. To my surprise it was $16, no tip or drink. The food is not as good as the price. My sandwich and fries both came out cold even though it was before the lunch rush. Price was bad, food was okay. read more

Pretty good breakfast and lunch spot near the Worcester courthouse. I got an sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on an English and it was tasty and well cooked. The home fries and iced coffee were also good. Although it's walk up cafeteria tray style ordering the cashier was very friendly and nice and said she'd bring my food out to the table when it was done, which was nice. I like the place and the food was basic but fresh and good. read more

This is the restaurant I have most frequently been to in Worcester. I've gotten take out the most often but have also dined in numerous times. I've had a lot of their dishes but my favourite is the buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. You must have their sweet potato fries they're devine. The staff is all friendly and their service is quick. There is also a 10% discount for MCPHS students. The only problem is they close fairly early. read more

Great food, service and friendly staff. Great energy and feels like a family-run place with real food and staff that care

An interesting mix of cafeteria and diner, with breakfast and lunch served all day. Order at the counter and have your food brought to you at the tables. As it was 9am, 3/4 of us ordered breakfast food, and one person ordered the molten lava that they claimed was soup. I never heard if the soup she had for breakfast was good, just that it was traumatizingly hot (I was horrified by the idea of soup for breakfast anyway.) I went with two eggs over medium with bacon (shocker), white toast, and a bottle of water. It rang up to about $8 plus tip. First of all, I was so thrilled to actually be served "over medium" eggs! It's nearly impossible at the finest establishment, yet they pulled it off with ease. Not sure what seasoning they used on it but they were very good. They actually gave me so much bacon I couldn't finish it all, which is bizarre. The veggie omelette and a hash omelette were also sampled, both of which I believe were also good. All in all, definitely worth a stop in. read more

The atmosphere in here was confusing for me, but the food put my anxieties to rest. And I actually mean anxieties because going into this place around lunch time for the first time ever was overwhelming. It's crawling with MCPHS students in their summer sessions, but also with other people of Worcester. Word on the street is that they give discounts to MCPHS students? Which is pretty cool. Anyway, it's confusing when you walk in because their menu stretches as long as their kitchen counter. I felt rushed, not by the restaurant, but by myself to pick something. The others I was with ordered the steak and cheese and that sounded pretty amazing at the moment. So I ordered it with mushrooms and American cheese with an iced tea. All of the employees behind the counter were super upbeat and helpful, which was surprising for such a humid day. The (I'm assuming) housemade iced tea was satisfying and perfectly sweetened with the sugar I asked for. The steak and cheese was hot and cooked to perfection on a grinder roll! Not bad for a $9 meal. This place confused me only for the fact that I couldn't tell if it was a sit down and be waited on kind of place or not. It definitely had the potential to be. The food was standard as far as pricing goes and pretty good! My sandwich was only $7. read more

This is a great place-- really spacious, the food is really great and despite what the reviewer wrote a week ago they do take credit cards. I stopped there on New Years Eve Day and the service and food was equal to or better than the times I've gone before. The only complaint about the place I have is that it closes way too early-- otherwise I'd grab dinner there once in a while. read more

Been here a few times and was happy with the food, prices, and service. The first time I went here, I got pancakes...awesome, awesome pancakes...oh and some bacon too. What? I was hungry!! The price was pretty average as far as I'm concerned, but I don't usually go places in the Worcester area. The second time I went, it was pretty packed. As the name suggests, the place is right across the street from the courthouse, so at 1pm the court crowd winds up here for lunch. Even though it was busy that time, there were still plenty of tables and they brought the food right over to us. I got a burger and fries that time. No complaints. They also have good cinnamon rolls. The menu has a lot of options and the staff is friendly. They DO take credit cards. They have tvs and newspapers around too, which is a nice distraction if you've got time to kill. read more

I grabbed a breakfast sandwich here today, just egg and cheese on a bagel. Easy, but other places have ruined less. The egg was cooked well, plenty of cheese, and a fresh bagel. The woman taking our order was very friendly and was doing a great job dealing with the full restaurant of people. My husband had a coffee which he said was just regular old coffee. I'd stop back in to have a sit down meal or try their lunch options. read more

Although we had set out for another place we found that one closed - lucky us - this was fantastic. The woman who greeted us - I think she must be an owner -- she was so friendly and helpful. She told us about the specials and made recommendations. Thef ood was prepared fresh, to our specifications, and brought to our table (you order at the counter). I had one of the best burgers ever! The french fries were hand cut. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. ( Ladies room very clean! ) Would definitely go back! read more

I just had coffee. I find myself in Worchester, MA with hours and hours to kill so I thought "I should plop down in a Cafe and search the webs for things to do!" We stopped in the Courthouse Cafe for a quick lunch after hiking through Purgatory Chasm. The service was quick and friendly, and the food is fine. I'd give it a 3.5 sooner than a 4 but...well, you know. Courthouse Cafe offers breakfast and lunch all day. The menus are pretty extensive and everything is reasonably priced. I ordered the gyro ($6.99) and it was ok. The sandwiches didn't come with any extras so we ordered a side of fries, which was very generous. Overall the Courthouse Cafe was ok but not great. It's nice inside and very large, but I probably wouldn't go back. It's fine if you want something safe but it won't wow you. read more

On to the good: The Pecan and blueberry pancakes were awesome and were equally matched by the amazing cream cheese and fruit filled french toast. The Coffee kept flowing, the servers were friendly. This is a Good looking place inside and out with ample, very comfortable seating. It's a nice, fun place to hang out with friends and family or a cool breakfast club. On to the bad: One order of eggs was little under cooked but was happily taken care of by the server. The food took a little longer then expected. Home-fries were tasty, but a little on the luke warmish side. When ordering my kielbasa and eggs, i was not asked how i wanted my eggs (scrambled). I was served sunny side up eggs, not my favorite but still tasty. ----We would absolutely come back to the Courthouse Cafe for its cool atmosphere and delicious breakfast food. read more

Busy restaurant across from the Court House. Food is fresh and prepared the way you want it. All the help is great.

I have only been here for breakfast, but it is so good and so reasonably priced. They made me an egg white sandwich with mozzarella and turkey bacon on a "bulkie roll" that put Starbucks to shame, to say the least. I asked for a side of fruit and was told to take a container from the cooler. The fruit was ripe and perfect and there was a lot of it. I agree with the reviews that mentioned how friendly and quick the staff are. read more

I have my coffee (actually tea) here four days a week. I meet with a group of other lawyers and we pretty much take control of the front room....so I'm biased-sue me. This is a cafeteria style restaurant where the food is fresh, well prepared and served in large prtions. They have 8-10 soups daily and they are actually always very good. They make a wide array of sandwiches and prepared meals....and they have fresh, healthy alternatives if you're watching the wasteline. The staff is great, the owners are always around, the place is impeccably clean and the food is extremely good....can be a bit pricey (especially for breakfast) but is worth it. read more

Great place to grab lunch. Menu has lots of solid options, and the sweet potato fries are excellent.

the place was WAY over priced you do not get get what you pay for very small portions. the food was very average, nothing at all to write home about. they have a great location and no real competition in the area so they have no need to give you good food. its a place that cares about the profit and very little love is given into the food. The workers were very pleasant very helpful. Its to bad that such nice and friendly people arent allowed to feed you what you pay for read more

I was in town with my family this past saturday. We stayed at the Hilton Garden (2 blocks away), which has an Uno restaurant attached to it; but being from Chicago, we wanted something different. There were other places to choose from, unfortunately none of them opened until after 4pm. It was 130pm while we walked around and found The Courthouse Cafe. A previous review stated they were unsure if it was a sitdown with wait service or if you had to order from the line. We were told that on weekends only they have staff to wait in the tables, during the week you order from the line and seat yourself. In my opinion the food was great. I ordered an egg sadwich with house chips (fried potatoes), which had more eggs than any restaurant from memory puts on a similar sandwich. All the house made muffins (we had cornbread and apple) were delicious. The portion sizes were large enough so we didn't leave hungry. All the staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. Wait times for food was normal. I'll say that it wasn't very busy when we were there, and I haven't eaten there during a busy week day. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for all day breakfast or lunch. We had a party of 5 and the bill was under $50. Great value for the amount of food we got. I look forward to eating there next time I am in town. read more
