We made our way here after hearing a lot of chatter online with plenty of people recommending this bakery. I never knew it was here, but my husband had seen it plenty of times but never stopped. We stopped in on an early Sunday afternoon looking to try their grinders (subs, hoagies etc for those not from these parts). I stayed with a traditional Italian and my husband ordered the Bomba panini (it's really not a panini, because it wasn't flat at all, but they told us that when we ordered). They told us we could have a seat in the cafe and they would bring it out to us when our sandwiches were ready. We wondered over to the cafe which is a short walk with shelves of all sorts of imported cooking staples to buy. The cafe has about 10 tables or so and they also have a coffee bar in there where you order coffees and such. They brought our sandwiches out and they were huge. My Italian was delicious and my husband said his Bomba was one of the best sandwiches he ever had (yay! I found another good place!). After we were done (I was stuffed) my husband got a piece of tiramisu and loved it, I also grabbed a bite and I had to agree it was great. We would have grabbed more baked goods to go, but it was extremely hot out and we weren't planning on going home for awhile (next time we'll bring a cooler!). Our 2 grinders, a bottle of water and the tiramisu came to $28. and change. We are definitely adding this to our list of great places to grab a quick bite!! read more

Eggplant Parm sub is awful. Just a mess of a sandwich with soggy eggplant parm broken up on bread. Italian sub was okay- not the best not the worst. Bread on both sandwiches was delicious. Also got some cookies but noticed that quite a few pastries/cookies looked like store bought and unpacked onto a tray to look home made. The rainbow cookies are absolutely just unpackaged from the cake bites brand :( read more

After seeing the great ratings on yelp and finally being in the area to give this gem a try - I am happy to say this great little family owner bakery/sandwich/coffee shop was phenomenal. I had an amazing chicken cordon blu sandwich , it had lots of flavor, nice tender chicken and all fresh ingredients. Portions are large for the price. Very reasonable ! Driving home from Boston to NYC, on the highway and I asked my son to find us a place for a breakfast sandwiches about 20 minutes from where we were. Walked in and thought "mom and pop spot, could use a facelift". Well, after I ate the food, I could care less about the decor!!!!! WOW. Fresh made bread daily!! Thought a couple egg sandwiches and a coffee and we were good, until I saw that mound of Italian meat staring at me!!!!! I went Italian combo, but with fresh mutz instead of provolone. Dont judge me, I love fresh mutz!!!! It was amazing. Son went with eggplant parm hero and daughter had Mediterranean chicken sandwich. They were all phenomenal. And now the good stuff!!!! The rainbow cookies were good, as good as most places. But the lobster tail pastry, stuffed with custard/cream mix was outstanding!!!! The baklava was great. The cannoli cake was excellent. My caprese salad was not to my satisfaction. Very disappointed. No fresh basil. There was only 1/2 cup shredded lettuce you would put on a sandwich and the tomatoes were not local or fresh and two out the four had a large core in the middle. Very plain looking bakery with a lot of flavor. Ordered subs and cookies for a quick family dinner. The Italian sub was delicious. I ordered it with hot peppers which made it perfect. The bread was nice and crusty. Other sandwiches were roast beef and turkey. The cookie assortment was very tasty which included Annisette, lemon cookies, pistachios leaves, and raspberry almond. My favorite was the Annisette, but all were delicious. Specialty grocery imports included salamis, pastas and jars of hot peppers, pickles and relish. Olive bar had nice selections. read more
