Kielbasa and two kinds of pierogi made for the perfect birthday dinner. By luck I was in the neighborhood just before closing time on Memorial Day Friday. First glance around the stocked pantry shelves and display windows lifted that Old World feel. Friendly staff greeted me with a smile, handed me my order and quickly helped me find the best options for me: garlic kielbasa, and a dozen each of potato cheese pierogi and sausage and greens. Five adults ate well with a sixth meal set a side for the following day - birthday girl's lunch. Used to be my favorite shop, now not so much. The staff have been rather rude lately when I've gone in. Although the selection of food is still decent, the prices have skyrocketed (for example the turkey slices that are selling for $19 a pound). All three of the grocery stores carry pretty much the exact same stuff. Great meats from Blue Seal, canned and pickled goods, candies and other odds and ends. Nice bread and some fantastic Kielbasa. I finally found Golemo's! I made it back to Worcester and it was irking me that I could not find the place last time so I was determined to return and find it. It a very clean and well organized store. They were out of glalumkis so the staff recommended some freshly made specials (I dont have a clue was they were) but had them for dinner and was delish. So many pierogis to choose from....and the deli fully loaded with kielbassa and lunch meat, bacon. Store has a good amount pantry sundries. You wont be disappointed here! read more

This place, is, without a doubt, one of the best places I've been to. No frills. No whistles. Just serious f*****g meat. It can be a little intimidating if you have no idea what you're looking for specifically, but my first time left me with pasztet, blood sausage (which I was looking for), and their classic sausage with garlic. We always make at least two trips to Golemo's to stock up with Polish specialty items for Christmas and Easter meals, and usually make extra trips for the excellent kielbasa -- there are usually 6-8-10 types hanging behind the butcher's cooler. Good, but every time I buy chocolate it's white. I have started to notice a lot of expired products on their shelves. I was in there yesterday and a gift chocolate package I was going to buy expired in June. It's now September and it's still on their shelves. If you go there please be careful with what you buy. For my dollars I am going accross the street now. Fresher stuff. Yesterday I went and bought my gift chocolates across the street instead and they had the same ones with a 11/14 expiration date. Subsequently I have also found a lot of very sketchy legal and exploitative stuff about the Golemo family on the internet when I googled so I'm done. OMG this place is wonderful- I am lithuanian and grew up with polish food and kilbasa my whole life- I will make the trip to come here again- sausages kilbasa and desserts were authentic and better than i remember. Of the several Polish delis on Millbury Street, Golemo's is the biggest and the best stocked with staples like jars of pickled mushrooms, different mustards, canned herring, holiday fare, etc. They may have the widest selection, I am not sure. They tend to be very busy and the service is not as personal as I have found at nearby delis on Millbury Street. read more

I recently relocated to Worcester. My family has been looking for a replacement deli for Easter fare since our New York go to spot closed on the Lower East Side a few years back. What a great experience and a trip back in time!!!!! I am Czech and not only do the personnel speak awesome eastern european languages but they are so nice, humble, helpful and over the top friendly. I cannot praise them and their store enough. Even the customers that are obviously regular and converse with the staff in their "language" are an absolute delight. Each and every customer I have encountered in my 30+ visits since moving from the Worcester area in late 2013 (I currently live in Naples, Florida) are an experience one cannot miss. The multitude of Kielbasa choices both made on-site and brought in daily from New York delis are very good. All of the employees are friendly and willing to help you if you are not sure what you are looking for :) They have a ton of yummy polish food and candy. I like to get their kielbasa (Which they have a variety of different kinds). I also like the pierogi they have in the freezer and of course all of the Polish candy is delicious.
