This is a GEM of a place. Getting Irish products can be hard... or pricey! This lovely store had all my favorite products and even chocolate. The owner is so nice and even loaded my groceries into my car. I didn't just buy the Irish products, which were very reasonable, but I got stew meat as well. This shop is a little ride from my house but I will most definitely be back. The service alone is something to come back for. read more

You know why it's 5/5 consistently? This is the only place I'll go for good meat anymore. An older Irish gentleman runs it with a lot of young guys helping him. To a man, every one of them is "yes sir", "how can I help", "thank you, sir". The music playing is all from the 1940's. The selection is small but it's quality. Walking in is like stepping in to a time capsule, when service was good and people actually cared about their jobs. read more

Fantastic service, and I mean like it's 1946 full service with uniforms 1946, back in the day when clerks called you sir, people actually wanted to wait on you, and maybe they even carried your groceries to your car. Yes. indeed I am a ranting, raving and screaming fan of Emerald Meats. I actually stopped in here completely by chance on my way home from the grocery store and had forgotten to get cold cuts. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a place in Tatanuck. Haven't experienced many other butcher shops sadly but this has made me regret that I hadn't. It goes without saying the staff here is incredible... super friendly, informative, helpful, knowledgeable and the greatest part? Most of them are so young and it makes my little heart swell to see kids working so hard and so professionally. Score 1 point for humans. The owner of this place must be the kindest person ever, if you get the pleasure of speaking with him you'll see why this place is so popular, its got a solid foundation! Had a super bowl get together an ordered up a platter and wings last min. They had it all ready earlier than quoted and with everything I needed with a smile. Even after I called them a hundred times during such a busy day for them. Just outstanding. Deli meats are all boars head. All kinds of items available to take home and bake/fry/grill up and great house seasonings! Try the garlic herb spread - MMMMM!! This is probably the best meat shop in Worcester in terms of cleanliness, friendliness, and quality products. My fiancé and I go to Emerald Meats at least once every two weeks, if not more. The cold cuts are delicious, especially the pastrami, and the cheese is super fresh. We've also tried both of the marinated steak tips they offer and they are DIVINE. Honestly, best and most tender steak I've had - it was like I'd gone to a restaurant, yet I was able to eat such quality meat in my own home. We've cooked those same steak tips for friends and they could not stop praising my fiancé, wondering how he'd managed to marinate the meat so well. We let them in on the secret of Emerald Meats and they assured us they'd make a visit whenever they were back in Worcester. Try this place out if you haven't. You won't regret it. Yes the service is unbelievable and most of the meat is also. But tonight l bought 3 lamb kabobs and they were $24. Not a problem if the lamb wasn't so tough. I am a regular at the store and tried to call and leave a message, but couldn't leave a message on the system. So l am yelping. I wanted to know what part of the lamb is on the skewer. Definately not a tenderloin, which would be the best. It was very chewy, and l can cook. It wasn't the temperature, it was the meat. Sorry. Wanted you to know. read more

The customer service here is amazing, and if I were rating this place on that alone it would be 5 stars. But the quality and variety of the meat they sell isn't impressive for the price. I mean, it's basically the same selection as you'd find in Stop and Shop. I'd really like it if they worked out something with like, John Crow Farm or somewhere similar, and offered a delivery point for the CSA or just sold more specialty / organic meat products. But... I still go in at least every other week because in the end, the service is just amazing and I do like supporting a local business. read more

Cold cuts aside, this is one of the finest butcher shops in Worcester. The staff is beyond friendly, courteous, and helpful. Their meats are top quality, and their kabobs are out of this world. Five stars doesn't do our experience at Emerald Meats justice. Stopped in for our first time on Father's Day morning to grab some steaks. We thought it would be just a normal "grab some meat, then run" but both my wife and I walked out of there in a phenomenal mood, starting our day off perfectly! We were greeted with a welcoming "hello" during a very busy time for them- all the guys were cheerful, energetic, and hospitable, literally putting a smile on our faces. The fact that I didn't lead this off talking about the quality of steaks, speaks to the great shopping experience we had. But speaking of the steaks. . . phenomenal quality! THE BEST! This is your local, family-run Butcher Shop, and the owners sell Premium Quality, Fresh Meats here. Believe me, the difference is noticeable. I would never buy any meat from supermarkets again. The Owners are also super friendly and helpful, along with all of their other employees. The place is run like a tight-ship, very well disciplined (just as it should be in the good ol' days when Americans were disciplined workers), and I want to very much congratulate the owner for keeping this Tradition alive, which is inherit of the hard-working nature and family-oriented nature in the Irish Spirit and ways.
