About 17 or 18 years ago there was a show on MTV called "Pimp My Ride". In each episode, a good car in poor condition was restored and customized. A later spinoff on Country Music Television was called "Trick My Truck". When I mentioned to one of my children that I had decided to contract with Garage Excell to refurbish my garage, she immediately said "Hm. Sounds like 'Pimp My Garage'." Funny and catchy, but not really accurate. When the Garage Excell crew had finished with my installation, there were no gold chains, rhinestones, neon lights, or Cadillac convertibles involved. Just sturdy, clean-looking tall white-and-gray cabinets with graceful doors. I decided not to have the garage floor redone, because I didn't want my garage to look better than my living room. After all, it's a garage, and (this being San Diego County) I do intend to park my car in it. I got 7 gleaming new cabinets with doors and some overhead racks to hold suitcases. (The racks were probably sturdy enough for me to sleep in, but I didn't want to put anything heavier than a suitcase up there). I am extremely happy with the result. I think it ended up being about the same amount of storage space that I had before, on my wire-rack shelving and plastic shelving, but those shelves were butt-ugly and probably not as strong as they should have been. The master installer who led the installation was breathtakingly skilled. It was great to watch him work. And he uses the same Home Depot brand of lime green power tools that I do. Puffs up my male ego with validation of my tools. Except his were heavily used, and mine look practically new. read more

I won't recommend this company. We were looking for some affordable garage options and this was the best. Of course you get what you paid for. 3 months to start installation. The installation process was a disaster and at the end the slat wall didn't work. Instead our kids almost got into 2 different accident ls because the bikes hooks broke and they almost felt on top of our children. Now they barely answer to our emails and they said there's not reimbursement option. So we are stock with a slat wall that doesn't work. read more

Every house I have purchased I add new garage cabinets. These by far are the best looking ones I've bought! So modern and sleek. A few friends have come by and were impressed! I want to give them a 4.5 because these took longer than they initially said. I've had a couple of cabinet installs from other companies that took less than two weeks. They took about 6-7 weeks from the initial jump. Also, these a smaller than a few cabinets I've owned. I wish they were a lot deeper. I had a major remodel done to the interior of my 4-car garage. I looked on-line for companies that could do the work and Garage Excell, in Escondido, looked like the best option. I met with one of their designers to discuss the project and do the design. I hired a contractor to demo the old cabinets, patch and paint drywall and to do electrical work. Garage Excell had the cabinets built and the epoxy floor done. There was a long delay with the cabinet manufacturing due to supply issues that were no fault of Garage Excell. Their Operations Manager, Binsi, was excellent at keeping in touch with me, managing the project and answering all my questions. We had our three car garage redone by Garage Excell at the beginning of March. The crew (Carlos, Eli, and Ricardo) arrived on time and met their promised deadlines. The cabinets come with locks, are exquisite, stable, and made of high-grade steel that will be durable for years to come. Elevated for easy cleaning, we have also been able to store small things below them. I cannot say enough about Richard Escala the owner. He was honest about our garage floor and advised against coating it due to moisture that would eventually lift the coating. He did not oversell and honored, without question, our desire to keep the rafters open. Definitely a different experience this time around. My first time using Richard was back in 2016 and it was great. He dialed in my garage with epoxy flooring, cabinets, racks, and a tool bench. He was super cool and he was the best priced around. This time around, unfortunately, was awful. Just moved in to my new place and the first thing I was excited to do was my garage again. Called Richard and was setup with an appt the following week. He called and texted me Sunday evening letting me know his earlier appt had cancelled and he was available at 11 so I said sure. 11:30 rolls around and nothing so I call him. His exact words were "something came up so I'll hopefully be there in 30 mins"... and when I questioned why he even rescheduled my appt in the 1st place he said he thought he could make it at 11 and I should have called him instead of texting back. What?!! He texted me to respond. Then comes to the quote. Back in 2016 these guys were priced great. Not anymore. He mentioned inflation and higher cost cabinets but in all reality I wasn't getting epoxy flooring this time nor was I getting the work bench and the price was about the same as getting all the cabinets plus the work bench and epoxy flooring 3 years ago. That's a significant price increase for only being 3 years. And overall Richard was just annoying to work with this time around. He was super quick on the phone and on one occasion after 5 minutes of talking he literally said sorry we've been on the phone too long. Instead I used a different local company for roughly $1,500 less and I'm pumped. The cabinets look great. The owner was awesome and he knocked it out in one day. Sorry Garage Excell but you lost a good customer. read more

Zero stars for them. Scheduled an appointment almost 2 weeks ago for today at 10am. Receive a call 40 min before the appointment that the designers schedule has changed and they can't make it today. This was suppose to be a surprise for my husband for Father's Day. I had to very carefully schedule this for a time he would not be home and also had to rearrange my office schedule and childcare just to receive a call that their designer had a change.
