I dreaded working with an unresponsive contractor who was always late, difficult to reach, and missed the timelines and deadlines we had agreed upon. Thankfully, I was wrong.
We had interviewed a few contractors, but from our very first interaction, Harry was different. He was on time, listened carefully to what we wanted, took detailed measurements and notes, and didn't try to sell us on work we weren't asking for. Later that evening, he sent us a detailed quote that broke down everything we had discussed.
He encouraged us to take our time, consider the numbers, and even interview other contractors. There was never any pressure. He followed up with us kindly and professionally and eventually invited us to one of his active job sites so we could see the quality of his work firsthand.
Once we decided to move forward, Harry mapped out a timeline so we knew what to expect and when to expect it. He even built some buffer time into the schedule.
Everything started exactly as planned.
During the demolition, his crew discovered evidence of a leak coming from the plumbing around the drain. What impressed me most was how Harry handled it. It wasn't simply, "Trust me, you have a leak." He showed us the evidence, used a camera to help identify where they believed the leak was originating, explained what they had found, and then presented us with several potential solutions. After discussing the options with us, they moved forward with the solution we agreed upon.
One of our biggest concerns was that the unexpected plumbing issue could push the project into our daughter's birthday, which would have been a problem had we been working strictly from the original timeline. Harry reminded us that he had intentionally built buffer time into the schedule and he was right. He assured us that it wouldn't be an issue, and he delivered.
Not only did they complete the bathroom remodel, but they were also able to take care of several additional smaller projects along the way, including installing a new garage door rail, replacing a fire door, and completing some minor plumbing work in our other bathroom.
At the end of the project, Harry did a final walkthrough with us to make sure everything was completed to the high standard of quality he had promised and expected from his crew. After a few minor touch-ups, a thorough cleaning, and even power washing our driveway, the entire project was completed within 10 days.
I was honestly surprised.
It's difficult to earn someone's trust when you are investing your hard-earned money into a home improvement project. Harry earned ours.
We also appreciated that Harry respected the scope of what we actually wanted. We were not interested in doing a full bathroom remodel and chose to keep our existing vanity and sink. We made that decision specifically because we didn't want to commit to additional work in case we encountered unexpected costs during the project. Harry had absolutely no issue with that. He never pressured us to spend more money or take on projects we didn't want.
Without a doubt, we would work with Harry and Dreamland Construction again. In fact, when we are ready for our next project, Harry will be the person we call.
We couldn't be happier with our experience and his work.
