After a water container leaked in our pantry and seeped underneath the laminate, we wanted to replace the laminate with a more waterproof flooring material but were having difficulty finding a company that does both laminate and tile installation for smaller projects. I was very excited to find Interior Technique Flooring through Yelp, as many of the reviews mentioned how helpful they are with repairing flooring after flooding and that they specialize in all kinds of flooring as well. The reviews also mentioned how friendly the owners and installers are, and I couldn't agree more after working with them on this project. Dustin was very helpful and creative and offered several different solutions to help us use existing floorboards to repair the area in front of our pantry so that the color match would be seamless. We decided to make our whole kitchen tile to help prevent future flooding problems and also provide a fun pop of color. We selected the tile from the ones they had in their showroom, and Ryan was very helpful with getting us a sample to take home and giving us info on the tile options. Mike made sure that scheduling went smoothly and our kitchen was back to normal within 5 days which was so helpful given we have a three year old daughter who wanted to check out all exposed sub flooring. We also have to give a shout out to the laminate and tile installers and the plumber as well. Everyone did a great job and was very clean and polite. We definitely recommend Interior Technique Flooring and are grateful that our flooding situation ended up being a happy accident as we love our kitchen even more now than ever, thanks to Dustin, Mike, Ryan and the rest of the team. read more

My husband and I are extremely grateful to Nick, Dustin, and Mike at Interior Technique Flooring for all their devotion and hard work on our recent remodel. I'm sure the Rollers would agree that none of us had any idea of how much our remodel work would expand when we all started working together. We originally thought we would be doing a significantly smaller, partial remodel and ended up redoing the entire space and we couldn't be happier with the end result! WOW!!! We worked mostly with Nick, some with Dustin, and a little with Mike. They are all very kind and patient people and easy to work with, and I really have to commend them for that. To say I'm quite particular on details would be an understatement; thankfully, the Rollers also have super high standards and are dedicated to producing a beautiful, top-quality result. Nick is a wonderful problem-solver who is always looking for the best solution and is open-minded to various ways to achieve it without rushing the process. We used some of the Rollers' sub-contractors for our project and also went with some we found on our own (we had already had worked with our electrician in the past), and we greatly appreciated the Rollers' openness to that. Their demolition/framer/dry wall contractor Carlos is truly amazing and helped us through many unexpected challenges along the way. Carlos did a beautiful job smoothing our walls for a very reasonable cost. I'm so over the knock-down and orange-peel walls that are so prevalent in Southern California, and if you are doing a major remodel of your home you should at least check with the Rollers on what it would cost to have Carlos smooth your walls as this made a huge difference in the finished look of our home. Smooth walls are so very soothing and light-reflecting, and they make a space look bigger and more open. Carlos's framers also made what were dream wishes of ours become realities, including making another opening into our kitchen and knocking out unnecessary soffiting and a fireplace flue that blocked our view between the dining and living rooms. We can cook on our range in the kitchen and see outside on both the north and south sides of our condo!!! The difference this makes in our enjoyment of our home is impossible to describe. We replaced our gas fireplace with an Eco-Smart fireplace that uses bio ethanol fuel, so no need for a flue...bye bye! Carlos's framers and drywallers did an oh-my-goodness-so-stunning job making the fireplace flush with the wall and the wood trim at the bottom of the cable railing. They did a very similar drywalling finish on our oak-trimmed doorways in our master bathroom area. I'm running out of adjectives to describe how lovely it all looks! It was a huge challenge to even source the Italian Lalegno wood flooring finish we wanted. It was not only a brand new selection but we were also dealing with frustrating supply-chain issues in 2021. This didn't daunt the Rollers, though. They have long-standing relationships with their vendors and somehow got the seemingly impossible-to-get finish we wanted, which is called Lazio. The Rollers are experts in flooring installation and it clearly shows in our home. Their sub-contractor Stone went above and beyond floating our tract-home floors so that we didn't need any transition pieces where our gorgeous Lalegno wood flooring meets our stunning spa-like Arizona Tile Shibusa Bianco tile (24" by 48"). Stone took a lot of care not only with the floating work but also in the selection of the planks in each room so as to showcase both the beauty of the wood and our space. We enjoy admiring Stone's meticulous work every day! Their sub-contractor Zach did a beautiful job installing and finishing with Rubio Monocoat Oil plus 2C (Cotton White) our quarter-sawn white oak doors. Zach also built our floating shelves in our master bathroom area as well as custom shoe shelves for our closet. I couldn't find any ready-made shoe shelves that would fit well, so Zach came to the rescue and we're super happy about that because nothing ready-made could compare with Zach's gorgeous work! While we used our own contractors for the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops, Nick was very involved in helping us along the way with both the design and rough plumbing particulars in those spaces. The Rollers helped us in so many ways that it's impossible to remember everything, and I don't even want to imagine how the remodel would have gone without them. Everyone who comes in our home cannot get over how beautiful and modern the space looks now. Have to say that this was just the best possible experience I could have had. If you are looking for a nice, timely, and cost-effective team that does great work. You have found them! After months of searching for a contractor and not getting a response from dozens, I got in touch with the team at Interview Technique, and they got back to me the same day, had a video call to do an initial assessment, and then came by the following day to provide a quote. When Dustin (the owner) arrived, he went way above and beyond to explain everything to me and provide a quote. The item that was just so above and beyond was his attention to detail, friendliness, communication, and promptness. I know?!?! It is unheard of with contractors. Amazing company to work with. I popper into their showroom one day on a whim and Dustin dropped everything to help me. Their knowledge of the product is so extensive and they have a huge variety of samples. Our house is only 3 years old but the LVP started to shift and even lift up and chip. I called around and of course we had three companies come out. When I told them to let me think about it, all but one said "How about if I do it for this price?" How cheesy. Anyway, Interior told it like it was and said to give them a call when I was ready. A month later I called back and Dustin remembered me and the type of floor I wanted. Interior Technique has great customer service, no pushy sales people, competitive prices, and their installers do great work! We moved into our home five years ago and quickly noticed the laminate flooring was coming apart. I was clueless about flooring so I did some googling to figure out what options we had. I came across Interior Technique's online business listing and decided to visit their store to see floor samples in person. My first visit to the store Dustin helped me. He was extremely friendly and not pushy at all (I hate pushy sales people). He first helped me understand the different flooring options we had and the pros/cons of each of them. After the basic flooring 101 he showed me a variety of floor samples. I left their store with the make and name of a few floors I liked and a much better idea of what it would take to replace our floors. I went back a few times and got help from several other employees. Everyone was great there. I shopped around online and also called/visited other local flooring companies. Interior Technique's prices were really competitive and their customer service was the best. We eventually decided to go with Interior Technique. Everything went smooth and was on time. Their installers were nice and got to work quickly. One of the installers, Zach, was especially great. A week after they started, our beautiful new floor was installed! Words can't explain how much of a difference the new floor made. We loved it! We've had to reach out to Interior Technique for advice on maintenance through the years and they've been really great. We're extremely happy we chose them; especially when considering some of the nightmare stories we have heard from our friends who got flooring through someone else. It's been almost exactly one year since Nick came to install my floors. I heard about Nick and Dustin when I looked into laminate flooring from IKEA for my condo; it was absolutely the product I wanted but I was not confident that we could do a good job installing in ourselves. IKEA gave me the business card for Interior Technique Remodeling and said they were the only contractors they ever recommended to install IKEA floors. I held on to it for months before I called, and I am sure glad I did! Dustin talked to me on the phone and gave me an estimate based on my square footage and number of doorways and appliances that needed to be removed. We did all our own demo and removal of existing floors first, and Nick and a friend he was training came up for the install. They got it done in record time, and along the way I got to talk with Nick about our mutual love of IKEA and all the contracting work he has done for them in their showrooms all over the west. He really knows their product, especially regarding floors and kitchens, and was able to give me advice about what lines hold up well and what I should pass on. As a bonus, Nick went the extra mile to figure out an under-the-floor solution for my installed cable, which previously just went under carpet. I had planned to ask his advice on it but was pleasantly surprised that he did a little extra work to create a neat and complete solution. My floor has held up really well over the last year. It was a great choice for what will likely become a rental property eventually, but my friends like the way it looks and I love living with it now. (While I am sure that Dustin and Nick would do an equally neat job with a nicer product, the cement floors of my second story unit are far from level, and a nice wood floor that would be gouged by pets or ruined by a dishwasher flood was just not a good idea for a rental.) The total price of the floor and install was still far cheaper than our original cheapie plan of Home Depot or Lowes, and I am positive that both the floor itself and my experience with Dustin and Nick were of higher quality than I could have gotten from the home improvement warehouse. My dad got the new baseboards on a while later, and I have already decided that when it's time to tear out the kitchen, we'll be calling these guys again! Yes, I dragged my feet writing this review, but a year has passed and I didn't change my mind, it's still 5 stars! Zero complaints. read more

Dustin and Nick are awesome. They have great prices, and the job they did was flawless. 5 stars to Interior Technique!

Perhaps I am a picky customer and I want things a certain way, I expect communication back and forth and I expect companies to keep their word about doing a good job and 100% guarantee. . .if you are like me then you should not go with these people because as the cliche goes "talk is cheap". It is extremely difficult to pick a company blindly. But if you friends don't know anyone in the business then you have to just hope that you choose the right company. My fear that a company will tell you everything you want to hear upfront, but when the job is done you are left unsatisfied they will be there to make it right.. . .Well the response I got was "tough luck". . and "too bad" you already paid us so if you want us to come back you have to pay us MORE MONEY. Well my fear came true! If you don't care about service, if you couldn't care less about some floor scratches, some minor flaws in the work, if you just want someone to do the job. . .an okay job, and you don't care. . . then this is the business for you. Bottom line is that the company said they would come back and fix a problem, but when I called them on it they said it would now cost me another $250. AND I paid it because I got quotes from other installer that it would cost me a lot more to redo someone elses work. Also the CSLB urged me to stay w/the same contractor. And yes, I did file a complaint with the CSLB against this company. They would not come back unless I paid that extra amount. They originally said I could pay $50 extra which was the original offer, but when I took them up on their word, they said that I would be taking advantage of their company if they came back for only $50. They said it would be for material cost in case any of the transitions broke, but none of them did and they were all reused. Oh, and I had to wait two weeks for the follow up. I got quotes from 3 other installers and they were not the cheapest ones. You should double check the measurements and compare the square footage because apparently an inch is not measured the same way by everyone. They had the highest square footage measurements. Also, when the floor was quoted by all contractors there was NO carpet. . .nothing, the bare floor, wood subfloor was showing. . so I don't see why there should have been any hidden cost because nothing was hidden under the carpet. . .everything could be seen still they had to come up with an extra cost.??!!! So, hey . . .did they do a crap job? NO, but don't expect any follow through on service or guarantees on anything. I have nothing in writing that the install work is guaranteed. I blame myself for not getting this beforehand and choosing this company. I blame myself for believing in the good will of people that they will follow through. I blame myself for giving a young company some business when I should have gone with a more senior company who knows what service is. Service is not saying "thank you" a million times . . . it's being professional, getting things in writing and not taking customer request as personal. I paid them fully each time the work was completed by check and it was cashed immediately so the way I see it, all I can do is write a yelp review since my money is gone. read more

Rock solid flooring professionals... wait, shouldn't it be wood solid flooring? Ah nuts.... Anyway, we interviewed three flooring companies and went with Dustin's team at Interior Technique. Why? Besides the great reviews, it was their attention to detail in the estimate, which was actually higher than the other two guys we met with. That's right, I went with the higher estimate. Why? If you watch TLC, you'll know. With construction on an existing home, there's a lot that could go wrong and time involved when ripping up floors where you don't know what's below (we had a mix of carpet and hardwood) and there's leveling that may need to be done, things to move, etc. That's why they're called estimates. Dustin's estimate left very little to chance. Very minor details, but details that would cost say $100 (minor when these jobs cost much more than that in total) were itemized and included. That mattered to me. Besides that, he was very responsive and realistic. We had ideas on what we liked and he also showed us other options as well. I wasn't here for all of the install, so I only met a few of the guys on and off during the process. All three were nice, courteous and smelled of rich mahogany... ok, not the last part ;-) Other than that, Dustin and his team were quick AND responsive. From Amy in their home office to texts and calls from some of the install guys. This floor should last me quite a while, but if I ever need a team to put another one in here or elsewhere, they're my first call. I'll post pics as soon as we unpack our boxes. read more

I found Interior Technique through the Kahrs flooring website, as they were listed as one of their local distributors. I'm so glad I found them! They've been nothing but helpful, kind and respectful of my budget. The first time I went in, Dustin sent me home with 12 floor samples to help me decide, since I was all over the place. All I knew was that I wanted a sustainably harvested engineered hardwood floor. I eventually picked the Kahrs Artisan Series Oak Earth wide plank floors, and I'm in love with them installed. I told Dustin that I wanted to install the floors myself, and they were so accommodating. He never laughed at me! They delivered everything to my house, and Nick even came over to give me a demo on how to install the floors. When he was here, he noticed that my concrete slab was cracking and bowing, so they came back that same day and ground it down for a very reasonable price. Dustin is hugely responsive, even though I think I must have driven him crazy with all of my calls and text messages during the install. They helped me troubleshoot everything over the phone with photos. I ended up buying several hundred feet of baseboards and door casings from them as well, as I realized what I had installed didn't look good with my fancy new floors. Dustin was great at working with me on price and doing whatever he could to get me a deal. He ordered surplus of the baseboards and casing I needed for his shop so we could get the large quantity discount, which he kindly passed on to me. Dustin also spent time researching how to remove a couple of stains that I had on my floor and then an hour showing me how, again without charging me anything. I can't say enough good things about this company. We were faced with a difficult project. Due to a faulty installation by another contractor years prior we had to do a complete tear out and new install. Thee was a lot of possible hidden issues that could pop up. Dustin took control, he outlined all the potential issues that could arise budgeted for them and we moved forward. His crew showed up on time, meet the issues head on and stayed on schedule. We had to displace my daughters family and two cats so timing was a big concern. The crew stayed late when need and our floors turned out beautiful. These guys took a real negative and turned it into a real positive for us. On top of that they worked with us on the pricing as my daughter is a school teacher and her resources are limited. So many people have renovation disaster stories...and with the help, expertise, reliability and creativity of Nick and Dustin we are not one of them! We hired the Interior Technique team to GC the renovations on our new house. They were able to knock down a weight barring wall, demo and rebuild the kitchen, lay floors and install appliances in 6 weeks! The contractors they brought in were great and represented them well.
