I shop here often and I get great service every single time. I only shop for my son. One time I had someone follow me around the entire store watching me. It almost made me never come back. I totally felt profiled but I let it go and I've had a great experience every other time. I think who ever is responsible for "watching" for thieves shouldn't follow people around the store I felt uncomfortable. I had my child with me who only 7 months so to keep having a complete stranger stand next to his stroller wasn't the exactly what I hope for when we shop. Shopped here 4/22 and had such a pleasant experience. I came in with an on-line exchange and was looking for a specific pair of high waisted jeans that were sold out on-line in my size. Elias, the store manager, stopped everything he was doing and called 4-5 other Gap stores until he finally found them in Illinois. Also to find out they went on sale from $79.95 to $19.99. WHAT?! I called here the other day looking for a pair of shoes I saw online and they were really unhelpful. I told the woman(sounded like a young girl) that answered the phone that I was calling to check if they had a certain shoe in my size and she put me on hold. I was on hold for about 4 minutes and then when she(or another woman?) picked it back up she said "Hello????" and I said again what I was on hold for. She asked me what shoe I was looking for and I told her the VELVET city flat in red in a size 10. She put me back on hold. When she came back she said "Did you say you wanted it in (couldn't understand this word) red or (couldn't understand this word) red?" I told her the website just lists the color as red. She asked me if it was a leather shoe. I said... no... it's VELVET. It's called the VELVET city flat. She then asked me what size I wanted and I said 10, again. She put me on hold again. She came back and told me that they didn't have it in my size at their store, but that the polk store in san francisco did. I called that store and an incredibly helpful and polite woman informed me that the shoe I was looking for is only available online. um. ok. not sure what they're smoking at this gap. read more

The customer service is dreadful. In Gap's defense, though, it's not dreadful in a malicious way, just a way that implies that the employees skipped their morning coffee. The greeters didn't notice I'd entered the store until I'd been shopping for five minutes. Then, when I was in the fitting room, I asked the sales associate (Jessica, I think) for a few jeans sizes (25 and 26 regular). It wasn't until almost ten minutes later that she came back... with a 26 short, a 27 regular, and a 25 in a completely different style. As for the clothes, they're all right. Simple and not too outlandish, average quality, a little on the pricy side (but what isn't nowadays?) Nothing special. Tl;dr: Customer service is a few fries short; everything else is unremarkable. read more

Been here a few times. Their 40% entire sale signs are misleading. Apparently, it does not apply to baby denim. Argh!

I admit, always been a fan of the classic Gap clothes. What this store may lack in size it makes up for with its friendly, helpful staff. They never seem haggard, they remember me and my little guy Cassius and they are always willing to help you find what you want either at another store or on-line. I really appreciate them. read more

I am not a huge fan of the Gap. I just don't understand the need for an entire store dedicated to jeans and khakis. But if that is your thing, then I guess this is the place for you. I went in there with my teenage daughter last weekend and thought that this was the dullest store I had ever been in. It was wall to wall blah. So what do I do, I head towards the little flip flop selection they had, which consisted of about 5 pairs at best, because they were the only bit of color illuminating from the store. After perusing their vast selection I was ready to roll out. One look to my daughter said it all, she had been looking at the jean skirts, but nothing caught her eye so...we left. I doubt very seriously if I either one of us will be back . read more

I stopped in here the other day to make an adjustment to a purchase I made at the Gap in San Francisco on Market Street a week prior. The sales rep who was working the cashier was super nice, but the manager was a crabby biatch. I understand if you're stressed, or hungry, or worked an 11 hour shift and want to sit down, but please don't snap at customers! I was completely nice too, which made it even more odd that I was scolded. The sales rep noticed her snappiness also and appologized. Sheesh... so watch out for unpredictable managers on top of the small store selection. read more

I would give GAP five stars but this location sucks it. Its on a busy street where people dont know how to drive properly, much less park properly. And its a baby gap too, so if you have to drive down there with an infant--forget it....but if you are out and about with a stroller then it wouldnt be so bad. read more

It's a Gap much like any other. This one has the benefit of being in the Grand-Lake area, means I don't have to go to mall if I need to get a shirt. On my last visit found what I wanted and the service was excellent. Feel this shop is a great hold out of the time when Lakeshore had some normal shops on it not just hipster hang-outs. read more

We love shopping at gap . We usually shop at the one in Emeryville our baby wears mostly gap and H&M clothing . We decided to stop by at this location considering it's closer to where we live . The moment I walked in I felt a bad vibe . I kept gettin starred at by staff , I felt very uncomfortable. Anyways we took our time shopping we were there for about an hour and a half, mind you staff is constantly looking over at us in the baby section which is all the way in the back . We had a big stack of clothes on top of our stroller (handle bar) . Staff wasn't friendly and polite as they are over at emeryville. Didn't ask if we needed help finding anything or if we were doing ok . Walked up to the counter ,didn't get greeted just got a weird look . We Ended up buying the whole stack of clothing we picked out (500$) worth of clothing. Who likes to get starred at while shopping for cute baby clothing !?? Especially when I walked in with an expensive stroller and well dressed kids ?! Come on I felt discriminated read more

This is a smaller store.The salespeople are helpful. I love using my old Navy card, as I get benefits. It's part of my routine when I shop around Lakeshore; I check out the deals and find good buys. I almost exclusively get pants here or Old Navy. read more

I have been a gap customer since 1979. I absolutely love the GAP on Lakeshore. I always find what I want even when I am not looking for anything particular. The sales crew always greets me and let me know about sales and events. This store is always clean and i never really have to wait too long while in line. The only issue about the location is the street parking and the limited parking in the lots. read more
