My switch 2
At T.

Kenny from Milpitas GameStop Ruined My Switch 2 Release Day with Shady Warranty Pushes! (1 star) Where do I even start with this trainwreck of an experience at the Milpitas GameStop during the Nintendo Switch 2 release? I waited in line for HOURS--legit, I showed up at 4 AM, freezing my butt off, just to secure my console on launch day. The line was chaos, the vibes were off, and then I get to the front, and here comes Kenny, the manager, turning my dream purchase into a total nightmare. Kenny didn't even ask if I wanted the warranty--he just SLAPPED it onto my bill like he was doing me a favor. No heads-up, no explanation, just a smug "Oh, you'll thank me later" while tacking on an extra $50 for some shady "extended protection plan" I didn't ask for. Bro, I just wanted my Switch 2, not a side of corporate greed! I was so exhausted from waiting that I didn't notice until I got home and saw the receipt. Sneaky much? And it wasn't just me--Kenny was pushing this warranty on EVERYONE in line like he was getting a commission for every upsell (probably was, let's be real). People were confused, some were arguing, but he just kept flashing that fake smile and saying, "It's basically mandatory for a console this hot." Mandatory? Excuse me?! I heard at least three other customers grumbling about the same thing as they left the store. It's like he saw the hype for the Switch 2 and decided to milk us all dry. The whole release day was a mess--understaffed, disorganized, and Kenny acting like he's the king of Milpitas GameStop, overselling warranties to anyone too tired to fight back. I'm still fuming. I didn't drop $400+ on a console to get scammed into a warranty I don't need. Never going back to that location, and Kenny needs to chill with the sleazy sales tactics. Nintendo deserves better, and so do we. Avoid this GameStop at all costs!

Dylan was helping me do a trade in for my Xbox Series X! Very helpful and nice. Got a good value after my trade in. Will come again! Thanks Dylan!

I was in need of new kontrol freaks and was able to reach out via phone to confirm they had some available and put them on hold. Great customer service. Note* Selection was limited for this type of item.

I am the mom who gets bulldozered by the kiddo to go inside the shop which I have no business with. I guess this is how my hubby feels whenever I go clothes shopping. LOL Anyhoo the place is just typical set up with games galore and game and pop culture merchandise for sale. The kids who come here usually have a glazed look in their faces which I don't know if it is a sign of elation or just an expression you see with people with addiction problems (women and shoes, people lining up at the Apple Store....yada yada yada) They sell cute items like plushies, mugs and tees along with controllers, consoles and other accessories. I see Harry potter themed merchandise and Pokemon. People can sell their old games and game related belongings in exchange for money or another newer game. The guys by the counter seem to know seem to have a gamer vibe but then again who would want to work here if you aren't one. Ehh...

I guarantee you that the Nintendo Switch is going to be the hottest selling game console/handheld this holiday season, so get one now.

Helpful when you ask for recommendations on new games and consoles. They also try to offer you the best deals when trading in games. This may be on the mall and not the Gamestop itself, but their computer system is not very reliable. Therefore, registration for becoming a pro member may take longer than it should.

This location gave me an opened copy and sold me at new game price. Scam! Don't go here.

My first PSA graded cards experience went smoothly. I will definitely come back to grade more cards in the near future.

They took my game to the back, worked on my disc. Took a bit longer than expected but it was a little busy so I understood the wait. I received the disc and was impressed as it looked like it was brand new. Easy, quick and thorough resurfacing. 5 stars for the service and collaboration between two shops to help me get a problem fixed.

When I first walked in, the box was clearly marked at $359.99. I went to the counter, and to be fair, the employee was helpful and gave me a reasonable offer of $365 in store credit, which I agreed to. No issues there. But when we walked over to grab the hobby box, the price had suddenly jumped to $510.99. That's a huge difference, and it happened while I was literally in the store. When I pointed it out, I was told they were "updating prices" and that they could only honor the original price if I had taken a picture of it. That's not how you run a business. Changing prices during store hours--especially while a customer is actively making a purchase--is unprofessional and unfair. Expecting customers to take pictures of price tags just in case they change minutes later is ridiculous. I understand prices fluctuate, especially in collectibles, but updates like that should be handled before opening or after closing--not in the middle of a transaction. This experience left a bad impression, and I'd be cautious about doing business here again.

I visited Game Platform during the holidays to buy a Nintendo 64 as a Christmas gift. Since I…read moreneeded the gift immediately, I didn't mind paying a little more (compared to online prices) and I ended up paying about $235 for an N64 console + 1 controller + 1 game + cables. When I checked out, they gave me a "receipt" but it was just a blank paper with a QR code and a handwritten invoice number. (The QR code led to a broken website that asked for your person information and didn't go anywhere.) I was hoping for a more reliable receipt that included the item prices (just in case I needed to come back and return it), so I went back to ask them to print out another receipt with the item prices. I was glad they were able to print one for me, but if they could print regular receipts the whole time, I'm confused why they bothered doing the QR code thing? The employee told me that I could return everything within a few days for a full refund, but the receipt I got said that everything was final sale. I was basically just taking their word for it at that point. The N64 gift didn't work out, so I returned 3 days later to return everything. The employee running the store ran into a dilemma: the register had just enough cash to refund my item, but refunding me would only leave $20 in the register. They actually called the manager about this, and the manager gave instructions not to issue my return. The employee asked me to come back in a few days because they'd "probably have more money by then" (??) so I left, hoping for better luck another day. I returned 2 days later and luckily, I was able to return my items for a full refund. The whole process was very tiresome and really unprofessional. I could tell the employees were frustrated too bc the register system had just changed and they struggled to process during my return. They seemed very unhappy working here. Had a bad experience overall. If you come here, only get something if you don't plan on making any returns because the whole process wasn't worth it.

The games were durable and held up for the event. Even though we were stalled on booking our games (due to the Venue needed to help with the layout), Luiza was still openly optimistic about helping us and in the end we got all the games we wanted. We opted for Ring Toss, Giant Checkers and Clowning Around (Bean Bag Target type of game - see photo). Except for the Giant Checkers, the prices are fairly reasonable. Please note that someone else may think that the price was reasonable...it's all subjective. Here's What I Think.... They have a ton of games from which to choose. While we do serve the Washington, Oregon, and Nevada areas, please note that due to the extended travel distance, our minimum one-day rental for events in Washington is $18,500 plus delivery."
