I usually go to Hot Topic since they sell very popular brands from anime, music, etc. Although that they have vast varieties of items, they don't have everything in the store since their locations are usually smaller. You have to purchase from online if you want to look for specific items that you want to get. I think that they only sell items in-store that trend the most. They display shirts usually at the walls, but some don't align with what's at the rack. You have to ask the staff to see where they're at. The good news is that they usually run a 30% discount for something. Not sure what it is though, but they usually promote that everytime I go to one of their locations. read more

So first off. Serina, at the Great Mall location is amazing. went in looking for an item i had seen on TT. unfornatly, i was not the only person because i only found the item in one size. Serina helped me look at the area for more. we never found it, they took the time to look on the computer to see if any other stores in the area had the item. we sound some store, and they offered to call the store to ensure they had item in stock, but i opted to have them shipped to home instead. all in all, Serina was very helpful and provided multiple solutions for me to find and purchase the item i wanted. keep up the amazing work, and thank you. This location will always be a favorite of mine even though they aren't the largest around or have the greatest selection of items. The employees here are always friendly and willing to assist and will take the time to help you find specific items. I like to come here for Hot Topic exclusives but the clearance section is actually pretty decent considering that it's just one small area of the store. read more

I drove to this store because it had a shirt I wanted, but I wanted to try it on and see how it fits. I come to the store the service is good and they have the shirts, but it's so disappointing they didn't have a fitting room available. The whole reason I drove further was to be able to try the shirt on... I would've just ordered online if I knew I wasn't going to be able to see how it fits. This Hot Topic has a really good Funko POP selection. I spent a long time browsing here because they had a 3 for $27 deal. I bought Rory from Doctor Who, Kurt Cobain from Nirvana and Diana Prince from Wonder Woman. I've been to a lot of Hot Topics, and I think this one has more variety of merchandise. They seem to have way more POP figures than other stores. read more

What can I say I'm a fan of Hot Topic! My GF likes some of their shirts, and I love collecting Funko Pops. So we always make sure to stop into any Hot topic we run across to see what fun things we can find. Staff is helpful diggin for Pops, store is well stocked. They got the goods! Oh yeah! Buy one item, get the second item half off. (the cheaper of the two) This place has a lot of cool stuff. You love Totoro the forest spirit! They have his merchandise! Oh yeah! Funko Pops? They got 'em! Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise? Yup. They got it. The employee's are the goth type, but are very nice people and they don't judge. Do they really have to make the customers feel uncomfortable by standing/following you in every section of the store you walk to? I can't shop with workers staring into the aisle I'm trying to browse with my partner. It's super obvious because they just pop right into the aisle and not do anything. And by the way, I won't buy anything if you're going to keep staring thinking I'm some sort of shoplifter. LET CUSTOMERS SHOP AND LEAVE THEM TO BROWSE. Even after you buy stuff their workers will follow you thinking you're going to steal. They also don't ask if you need help or anything, so they already have an idea of who might steal. That's why you get the silent treatment, AND you get your very own personal worker that stares and follows you while you shop! Great customer service for their "luxury" hot topic items. read more

Funny. When I was in high school, you wouldn't catch me dead in this place. Or maybe you would because I'd just die in here. But now I'm just here all the time. There's always some good promotion going on, their shirts are awesome, and they're a go-to place to feed your Funko pop cravings. Now, this is the Great Mall. Every review of every place here should have an extra star, because it's impossible to just keep any store tidy 24/7. That being said, I knew to come in on a Monday, and I stopped by right when the store opened because I knew it would be at its cleanest, and I needed something I knew would be gone quick. I came in looking for a specific Funko Pop that was also a Comic-Con exclusive that I knew Hot Topic would have. Fortunately, all the SDCC exclusives were arranged at the front desk quite clearly, and I was helped out pretty easily as the associate easily picked out what I wanted and let me choose based on box condition because you know how us collectors can get. As I stated earlier, there's always some sort of promo going on. I had a coupon good for $15 off a purchase of over $50, so I had to get the most out of my shopping. I ended up picking up a couple of HT's soft pop protectors as everything was buy one get one 30% off. I even asked for a recommendation as for which ones to get, and I got honest advice saying I should instead get the harder ones the store was currently sold out of. Day, I think her name was. Or Dae. We'll just call her Bae because I have to admit she was damn cute, and she was totally a chill person to converse with and just made my shopping experience that much better. She exemplified everything you can ever want from a good and helpful associate, so I have to show my appreciation there. Great Mall will never have the cleanest HT store, but I have to stay this staff is probably the most solid you'll ever deal with. I just wish IT would fix the registers because my main annoyance with every Hot Topic is I end up playing musical chairs with whatever register I line up at. They also need more room--it's one of the main reasons why Valley Fair's is more easily shoppable. It's really not out of the ordinary to bump bodies with other people shopping in the store. I asked her a few questions and she was honest and said she knew NOTHING about piercings. At first, I thought.. "ARUGHHH.. get out of my way.. you are NO HELP!!!" However, I was in desperate need of one and was going to purchase anything. When I brought my merchandise to the register, she advised me to go to SPENCERS first and would put my stuff on hold for me. I did what I was told, and got the help I needed at a much more reasonable price!!! EVERY time I come here or call, the people are ALWAYS incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful. Came here about 10 min before closing and was having problems ordering through their computer system and even though I insisted on leaving because it was time to close, they stayed like 20 min after closing to help me out. They were so encouraging and determined to fix the computer and get the sale! I also ordered something on clearance and it turned out to be the wrong size, and even though it says no exchanges online, I called them and they said I could return it. SO FRIENDLY. This review is long overdue. I love this HT location. I'm old AF but I shop here because I'm a nerd and I'm young at heart. They've always been very helpful with trying to resolve issues for me in the past when I've had my online orders screwed up or trying to do an exchange after I've misplaced my receipts. I've never had bad service here. Everyone here has always been super nice. I even made one kid try on a jacket that I was buying for my nephew and he happily obliged. Came in today to pick up an online order. They just recently opened during SIP. There is someone at the door to make sure everyone is wearing a mask upon entering. Markers on the ground so people can social distance while waiting in line to check out. The store is very tight so it's difficult to remain 6 ft away from other customers at all times but they do regulate the number of people that can enter to try to help that. They're doing the best they can to follow Covid guidelines. Great staff. I'm a customer for life. Give everyone a raise. read more

I usually only buy tee shirts from Hot Topic but I'll occasionally stop by for their dresses. I've never had a bad experience until I shopped at the Great Mall location. Most of their staff are eager to help and are generally friendly, except for the Miley Cyrus looking chick with the shaved head and purple ponytail. She either needs to work on her people skills or develop some altogether. On top of that, she forgot to remove the security tags from the dresses I bought. The girl with the dyed natural hair was the most helpful and even picked out accessories to go with the dress I bought. I was really mistreated the last time I was there, so I was hesitant to enter another store location. But heck, I decided to come in and check out this location and I'm super glad I did! This store always has good stuff. I like getting piercing rings here, they can be cheaper than an actual shop. They always have a deal going on when I walk by! For those of you who have favorite bands, they usually have something on sale, which is great for a last minute buy before the next concert. Or the nerdy shirts, which I love! Video games, quotes, movies, etc. You can get almost anything here other than books or fresh produce. The people are always friendly, always prompt with greeting, unless it is super busy. I have never been so rudely treated at a store in my life. I came here with my kids to treat them for doing well in school. While walking into Hot Topic I was following behind my kids, I was stared at and judged by the employees. I later noticed that my youngest was being followed by one of their employees to make sure that he didn't "shop lift". I understand that it is protocol but you don't need to stand 2 feet away from your shoppers to watch them. They even had the nerve to tell my kids not to touch their folded shirts or to make a mess. My children are well behaved and one wouldn't be disrespectful and two wouldn't make a mess. I was so shocked that they would treat their customers like that, that was very uncalled for. We asked if we could try on the T-shirts that we had chosen and were told we had to wait. For what reason I don't know, but I did notice that there was no one in the dressing room. When it came to getting checked out it was still a hassle, they got mad when we didn't want to sign up for their HT card and were very impatient when it came to us paying. I will be taking my kids to the Vally Fair store from now on. Ive been there before and not only is the staff cheerful and nice But they have a bigger collection of merchandise.
