I'm totally lost when it comes to clothing, so I wandered into the store without any real direction. Fortunately, one of the floor staff Rocio was there to help me make sense of the types of clothing and the tag size/markings meant. I got a ten minute boot camp for all things men's formal and casual - more information than I've learned in the past ten years (I don't really do clothes shopping on my own and pretty much wear whatever someone picks for me). I now have a lot to process and think about because clothing is more complicated than I had originally thought. They have super slim but too slim not so good for muscular arms. Lots of colors to choose from. My rating system for stores is a possible star for: organization, affordability, quality, fitting rooms, and service. Organization: +1 star. Neat and tidy for the most part. Easy to navigate. Affordability: +1 star. It's an outlet, so yay discounts. Even full price, the clothes are a good deal for the quality. Quality: +1 star. Love how soft and comfy their clothes are. My favorite place to get jeans. Fitting rooms: No star. The fitting rooms were a DISASTER! There were empty hangers, a pile of clothes, and garbage on the floor. WOW. Service: No star. The line is always long and moves slowly. When I went to the fitting room, there was no one inside to let me in a room. There was an employee about 2 feet away from me folding shirts. He looked at me, but didn't acknowledge me or ask if I needed to get in (which I obviously did). I asked him if he could let me in and he said yes. Weird. read more

Express is my favorite place in the Great Mall. Being super skinny, it's hard for me to find clothes that fit. Not to mention, at most places, "Medium" is the new "Small". Only in America. After searching unsuccessfully for a nice coat at a dozen places, I gave up hope of ever finding something that would fit (my body and my price range). But one day I found myself at Great Mall walking by Express, and I remembered that a friend had recommended it, so I figured what the hey. And lo and behold, on a clearance rack of several store-brand men's coats, there was a single one in size Small... and it fit pretty well! It was nice and heavy, looked good, and was just $104 plus tax. I couldn't pass it up. Meanwhile, the wifey who was with me started getting a little jealous and decided that she should have a new coat too! Fortunately, this Express is divided evenly into a men's and women's section (not common; at most clothing stores, the women's section is much bigger). She found herself a nice, heavy store-brand coat on sale for $100 plus tax. Express carries a lot of store-brand items (like Express and 1MX), which is how they can offer quality items like our coats at reasonable prices. But not everything is reasonably priced, in my opinion. $80 for jeans and $60 for dress shirts? Noooo thank you, I'll get those somewhere else. Final tip: If you sign up for their email newsletter, Express will send you a coupon for 15% off your next purchase (excluding clearance items). The coupon can take up to a day to arrive in your inbox, so you have to plan your visit in advance, which is not good for people who drop in here on a whim. (You can return your stuff and re-buy it with the coupon, assuming the sale prices are still in effect, but we didn't bother to make the drive back). read more

My son and I were in this store to get an outfit for his prom. It was this past Wednesday, April 17th, around 1:00. My son knew what he wanted so he pushed my wheelchair over to the right section. A young man approached us, gave a polite greeting then went on to stocking clothes. This perhaps should be addressed to the management. During checkout, I handed the young man my credit card. And yet, he hardly made eye contact with me addressing my son instead. Who, like most kids, had his face on his phone the entire time. I kept answering his questions. "This shirt is $50, but if you buy 3 it will only be $80" while looking at my kid. Me "no, thank you". Your total is $... He barely glanced at me the entire time! Perhaps uncomfortable that I'm in a wheelchair? Maybe he is unsure how to talk to someone who is disabled? Tip: just like how you talk to everyone else. I would have left, but the idea of going to another mall was just too overwhelming. Express management,please train your employees to be respectful of everyone. read more

I've been looking for an affordable cardigan sweater for an upcoming Christmas party and this place had it! Yes! For a store that is supposedly a Factory store, the prices weren't rock bottom. The selection is somewhat similar to what you'd find in a regular Express store, except perhaps there are older styles. The store was really fond of the gigantic lion logo that takes up half of your chest. I'm still not convinced that this store has good deals though - I got two shirts for the boyfriend that were extremely plain and I still ended up paying about $30. read more

I'm a Fan of express, as a young asian professional who wants to look clean and well dressed at work without breaking my wallet. My wallet doesn't break only when there are good sales here. Don't be fooled by items that are 30-40% off. You can easily find 50%-60% off here! Clean and organized, their clothes are sorted well by sizes. It's great to be able to search your style based on your size. They have all sorts of slim fitted shirts, pants, sweater vests, etc. The other day I was here and was reading to get rung up, I stood in front of the check out area, no one else was in line. I just stood and stared at the sales associate who was behind the register desk. She was just busy sorting a bunch of clothes and I didn't want to be rude so I just waited very patiently. Then she turned around and wasn't directly facing me but to the side. I knew she had to have noticed me at that point. Then some other lady was just casually walking in front of me and the associate was like "oh are you ready? I can help you right here" (to the lady) and she was like "Oh I actually am". When she was finished with her, the sales associate still didn't notice me, waiting in the same position, with the item I want to purchase in my hand. I've been shopping at Express since it was called Structure. So, for me an Express Outlet is clothing heaven. I love the brand, love the clothes, especially the jeans and the cut of their shirts, trim and sleek for the guy who takes care of himself rather than the straight-down trash bag cut. When I need the basics, dress shirts and pants, a belt, etc, Express delivers. I can always find something in the discount section of the store that I will wear frequently. I don't buy jeans anywhere else. The store is nicely organized and well stocked. The staff is helpful. My only gripe is the tendency to have only one register when the line is long while two unused registers and three more employees (who are typically walking around) could relieve the pressure. But, even with that I'd be back. I live in the Dallas area and work part-time in Milpitas. I wandered in here on a free evening to explore some local shopping and left with clothes, which is unusual for me. I'm not an impulse buyer, but couldn't resist 30%, 40% and 50% off. As long as I'm working in Milpitas I'll be shopping here. Great deals on great clothes! read more

Love getting Express clothes at a discount. This is one of the few Express outlet locations, they have one in Vacaville too. I used to come here to buy work clothes like button shirts for 40% off. Express is a great brand, where I have been shopping from this clothing brand since high school. The factory store has great deals, where certain style merchandises are from previous seasons from the actual Express stores. I don't think you can use coupons at the factory stores, frequent Express shoppers can get coupons in the mail each month which is amazing in order to get the additional discounts for your overall purchases. read more

I finally graduated from Forever 21 and becoming a woman with style. With that being said, fashion at Express is nice. It isn't too old or too young, more like a good mix and in-between. I don't feel out of place shopping here, and some of the clothing are more of my style than Forever 21 nowadays. I love the cut and tighter feel of the fit. I recently lost a few pounds, and it shows in more fitted clothing. I used to be a size 8 or size 6, and I decided to why not and go down 1 more size? Well, that was the magic number, 4. I feel incredible and I absolutely adore Express's store in Great Mall, because the prices are half the retail price, and I just get absolutely giddy to try things on here. I am an absolute fan. This store isn't considered an outlet technically so you can use those discount cards that they send. Staff here are friendly and will help you find sizes and pieces that you like. They almost seem bored and a little too eager to help, which isn't a bad thing. Another great edition to the Great Mall! Loving how they adding my stores recently, now the whole family can go to Great Mall and get what they need! Although it isn't technically an outlet, most of the merchandise is older or past season. Which isn't a bad thing either because you can find better deals. Express can be costly, but when they have promotions you really can find good deals. I like how the clearance areas here are maintained nicely and still shoppable. If I could get zero stars I would!!! So I ordered online and when I got my package it was the wrong size. So I come to great mall to exchange it or return it for a refund. The manager said I couldn't return an online order because it would mess up their inventory. WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF LAME EXCUSE IS THAT??? I used to work at valley fair express and my manager (Kristen) said we except all online orders regardless of the situation even if they set me the incorrect size!! This manager is clueless, naive, and untrained. Also sizes in this store are limited, workers are rude and untrained, in an overall sense the store is a hot mess. I'm a big fan of Express, so when I got a recent e-mail saying that there was a grand opening at the Great Mall for a Express Factory Store, I was hyped to check it out. Lo and behold, I walk into the store and everything looks the typical Express store. I still love Express, I was just hoping the store offered better discounts that stood out from the standard store. Worst customer service experience ever! Manager did not act like a manager. Found a coupon online that they did not honor. We had no problem paying what we had to but did not appreciate the attitude we got from the manager. He was this tall asian guy who had very little knowledge of how a customer should be treated. I was with my family and we were talking about the poor service and he just butt in because he didn't like what he was hearing. And was the one upset. We bought about $600 worth of clothes for less than a dollar service. They really need to educate their staff. Wish I could give no star for this review or negative stars.
