However, the experience was quick and efficient. The store clerk was so kind and patient with us. Also, they have a lot of games for half the price or even cheaper for the original price of games. A few things to consider shopping at this location on University in Georgetown. Yesterday my husband and I walked in said hello to the person behind the counter no reaction no hello no can I help you find something, just plain Rude! My husband and I looked strong then went to the counter to ask questions about a refurbished Xbox 360, asked her twice before she responded to us she never looked at us once, it's like we were bothering her. I said excuse are you able to assist us she nodded, I said to her I'm sorry us that a yes or what, what do you need she says hire rude is that! I'm coming into your business looking to buy and you treat your customers like that as if I was bothering her!!! I asked if they had any Xbox 360 refurbished she didn't say yes it no she walked to the back was gone like ten minutes, she mumbled I don't know what she did back there she came back looked at her screen she said no, No what! No you don't have any; her response yeah so yeah you don't have any yeah we don't have any. I asked her what does the refurbished Xbox 360 have in it, her response I don't know we don't have it! She could answer a simple question!! Why is this person even working there if she doesn't know how to treat customer, geesh the generation nite a days there like robots don't care about anything and we are a burger to them!!!!! I came into this store last night after having dinner at Fish City Grille. I just bought my fiancee a Wii for his birthday. Neither of us are really into games but we decided we could play boxing games and get active and burn some calories while having some fun. We stopped in to ck out the preowned games and wow we found some cool games *(for us. . .) but may not be cool to the average GAMER. We bought Wall- E, Wii Fit (with 5 different kinds of games, boxing, tennis, golf, bowling, etc ), Madden 10, and Cabela's Big Game Hunter for $38. You cant beat that. 4 games for the price of 1. I enjoyed my trip there. I'm not a gamer by any means but I just want to play a few games for fun. read more

Ignore their ads about how they pay more than anyone for electronics. First- it took me over a week to get an offer because they kept telling me they didn't have enough cash in the drawer. What? Then when they were finally willing to buy it, I didn't bring my HDMI cord because in my opinion it's not technically part of the system, so fine, that's on me. They then wanted to sell me a cord for $15 in order to buy back the system. Then they pulled up my controller to some weird system and tell me that it doesn't work correctly, mind you, I had just used this exact controller on one of my other 2 PlayStations that afternoon and it works perfectly fine...but she knocks $50 off of the price that was quoted on their website for my "bad" controller. (Which she wanted to keep) They don't even pay $50 for controllers. So how does that make sense. Then she says it's going to have to be sent out for cleaning? It's a used system of course it has some dust on it but it works perfectly fine. She didn't even plug it in to see if it works or anything. Then offers me $150 less than what was quoted on the website. For a system they resell for $399, is quoted to buy for $230, they offered me $120 minus the 15 dollar cord that's $105. Scam artists. I took it down the street to game exchange, didn't wait a week, $140 cash and got to KEEP my perfectly fine controller. No hdmi cord necessary. read more

So Gamestop had a sign up sheet for pre-orders on the new XBox. They claimed they were going to call out once they were available for that pre-order. I was 3rd on the list supposedly & never was called & now they have already filled availablepre-orders. Next time you claim to be following a process, you may want to stick with it. I'm writing this review as the store manager is "helping" us in the most condescending manner. This will be the only and last time we visit this location. The location is clean, not too busy, but the customer service displayed by the site manager is awful. We came in to buy 2 games after reserving them through their online system. When attempting to pay with a credit on our account, we are met with "that's not possible. We need a physical card." We were never issued a card, just a receipt with the "card" info on it.. We have used this method twice before. "At one point you were definitely given a card." No sir, we were not. Then he goes on to pull out a card to show the pin that they need. "See. You had to have been given a card." We're not stupid, we know how this works. He then goes on to tell the other employee in the store what's going on, loudly, as though we can't hear just how stupid he thinks we are. My blood is boiling as he goes on to tell everyone he comes into contact with how we lost the card and don't realize why this is a problem. I get why, but a previous store manager has is the credit this way. We were NEVER issued a card. We did not forget it. We did not lose it. I've worked my fair share in customer service. Even if you think the customer is full of it, you don't treat them like that. I rarely post review rants, but I can't complain directly to the store manager first because he's the problem. DO NOT SHOP AT THE WOLF RANCH GAMESTOP! I bought Wolfenstein Youngblood Deluxe Version Sat July 27th. The Buddy Pass Code Did Not Work When Entered. I was told to bring it back for a new copy by the employee answering the phones. When I arrived she wasn't there unfortunately the Regional Manager Priscilla was there and was not only her condescending and rude self. She refused to exchange it like her employee had promised and made me wait 45 mins while she gave inaccurate information to Sony about what had occurred. Then told me the code was on another console and I would have to spend another $40 or call Bethesda (HAHAHA) the publisher for a new code (there is no way to contact them via phone or email. The only good employee she has left works 2 days a week because they pay $8 an hour even when promoted. So he left to make $11 at Dollar Tree. That is why all of the current CS reps are not knowledgeable about games, their own policies, and will lie to you when they promise you an exchange on a $40 game I can't use. Plus the regional manager hires thieves - I lost 400,000 points because a retail worker used them to buy hundreds of dollars worth of giftcards. When reported to Priscilla she said it was my fault that her employee stole my points. She is the most ineffective, rude, condescending and bitter woman I have ever had the misfortune to run into that thinks her Regional Manager Badge makes her Queen or something. Other than the items I have pre-ordered there (since they wont transfer it to a reputable Gamestop). I am never shopping there again. Buy the way the account with the buddy code after buying a copy - it doesnt work either - so thanks for stealing $80 from my family. Not that you care. But I take solace in the fact that you Priscilla are a very unhappy person (and take it out on your customers), but I despite having only years to live due to a chronic and incurable disease will die having lived a fulfilling life because I treat people with kindness, respect and dignity. Opposed to being a bitter shell of a person. Thanks again for your horrible customer service while implying the whole time I was wasting your smoke break time (that despite being the only person in the store). I will also call gamestop to let them know how you treat staff and customers. This location is full of the most sullen, unfriendly employees with some of the worst attitudes that I have ever seen. I would give this review zero stars if I could. We went in to this store at 6:00 pm on a Thursday and there were three employees wandering around the store. We were bringing in items for trade and the extremely rude boy working the counter dropped parts out of the gaming system into the floor and then told us he couldn't accept the system because it was missing pieces. He then proceeded to say "Next" and when we pointed out the missing parts were on the floor where he dropped them, he looked at us with a blank stare, and then said, "I can't help you right now." The other two employees simply stood in the back of the store, staring. If you want customer service, go to the GameStop located at La Frontera. It is the BEST GameStop with the most helpful employees. We will never go back to the Wolf Ranch location. The manager should close for a day and retrain the employees in customer service. read more

I love going here. Some of the games are a bit overpriced, but I've found plenty that are very reasonable. But what keeps me coming back every time is their customer service. Whenever I have a question or need something explained to me, they take the time to tell me what I need to know... which is great because I usually have a lot of questions!! I love this place. I have visited here for many years and have been taken care of by the staff. Micheal, Deborah, Austin, Travis etc all of them are great but Micheal and Deborah are my go to employees and Managers. I love that you can purchase USED GAMES and are able to return them for full price within an alotted time. Once you open a new game any where else, you cant get your money back. Most places have a 24 hr return policy if unopened because no other place really sells preowned games as is. (Lame) But gamestop is great. Their employees are knowledgeable and are always super friendly. They also provide phones, Headphones, tablets, and more entertainment other then games. Thank you all!! read more

Ever since this Gamestop got a new manager, it's gone completely downhill. The employees that work here are some of the most depressed-looking, unfriendly workers I have ever seen. This, I am guessing, is partly due to the new manager. The old manager, Mike, was much better and enthusiastic, and so were his employees. I hate walking into this Gamestop, because every time I do I just get an overwhelming feeling of dread that emanates from everything. Let me stress this: I 100% believe this is all the new manager's doing. I once witnessed her walk away from a busy counter to answer a call, leaving the customer who was waiting at the register to stare in confusion. We looked at each other like 'did that just happen?'. Oh, it did, and no apologies or excuses were given. You will not get such a cold, hostile, unfriendly environment anywhere else in Georgetown. How this manager still has a job is mind-boggling. She is very condescending, extremely rude, and just a straight-up horrible manager. If you don't believe me, or think I'm exaggerating, I suggest you wander into the fluorescent, dismal pit that is the Wolf Ranch Gamestop and get a first-hand experience of the uncomfortable, hostile atmosphere. This is the GameStop that is the closest to where I live, and good thing it is also one of the best locations that I've ever visited. Every time I walk in I can be assured that ill receive a warm welcome and am always asked if there is something they could help me with. Every time I have a question, whether it be about the content of a game or an honest opinion about they're favorites, I always get an answer that satisfies and I walk out with a purchase I'm glad I made. Also had an awesome conversation with one of the staff members (who shall remain nameless) on labour day weekend that went on for over an hour and I found out pretty much everything I wanted to know about a game that I was getting and then some. All in all great location and excellent staff, glad to call this store my home store! read more
