Definitely taking advantage of gamers who don't do their research. Went in to buy injustice 2 legendary edition for ps4 and they were selling it to me for 20. Which is the retail value for the game sold brand new. Tried to bargain for the used copy and worker ignored me. Then priced some old game magazines at 15 a pop each. No wonder there is so many games. Way too overpriced. You're honestly better off going to gamedude or even GameStop at this point. read more

I posted my review over a year ago, he still sends me messages in a mocking manner. As I was just posting my review with honesty. What kind of owner treats people like this. I think all his 5 star reviews are paid or given for a discount. My review was on par with the rest of the other 1 star reviews because there true. There complaints on either the price, the store, or the owners customer service, like the one with the little boy. I don't know about you. But if this is how the owner responds over a truthful review, I would hate to see how he reacts to returns or any other things that inconveniences him in the slightest. Buys beware! Spend your money on offer up, Craigslist, or Facebook market place, as they will appreciate your business better than the owner of game hogs. Me and my buddy made the drive to check this place out and we were blown away by the selection of games. I've been to mostly every retro video game store in the OC and LA area and none of them even compare when it comes to the amount of game titles this place has. George the owner was really cool too, we were laughing and talking with him the whole time. I'm definitely gonna be going back soon. I also don't really understand why people choose to give this place one star reviews over the prices, this place has a HUUUUUUGE selection of games I definitely hadn't seen anywhere else so I don't understand why people expect thrift store or swap meet pricing when it comes to the games. I drove all the way from Ontario trying to sell a game , and when I got there I saw that they were selling the same game on their counter for $80; when I asked how much for my game they told me $30 store credit, I wasn't offered a cash value for it. I decided to not to take the offer and browsed the store when they showed me a box of used accessories all being sold for $10 each. I saw this Pokémon case and took it to the counter to check out and the dude helping us out had to send a pic and message his boss how much for this specific case, it's funny how it went from $10 all the way to $40. This used to be the spot for vintage games and hard to find items when I used to live nearby , but now it's just overpriced and getting my games valued as if I were to walk in to GameStop. I am better off going on eBay and finding the items for half the price. I would not have driven down here to get charged for way less/more than the value you can find online IF YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH. Going based off the track records and reviews this business has on yelp, I await a smart backhanded answer from the owner George. Update// owner is saying there was no $10 box of accessories when that's what his employee said that day before I went digging through the box. This store is the reason people are going back to online auction sites and Mercari. Their prices are about 20% more than you would pay anywhere online. I know video game nerds are difficult to work with and that they can be hard to please, but this store has no gray area. You are either an idiot with a lot of money to pay for their overpriced games or you're a broke person with no understanding of pricing If you balk at their prices. Overpriced games and most of them aren't even in good condition. They do have a large library of games but you're better off buying online or a nearby store like OG Collectibles that are reasonable with prices. read more

I told them what I was looking for and they made some helpful recommendations. They tested the equipment and games to make sure they were in working order! I got a great price for everything! I've been in search for an N64 for some time and I checked the usual suspects. OfferUp, EBay, etc. I've seen this store a few times but never made the trek to get there. The store is great! The dudes in there are nice and the selection is fantastic! If you're looking for an N64 there is a massive stack at the front door for $85 a pop. They come with original cables or aftermarket (your choice) and an aftermarket hyperkin controller as well. If you are to get an OG controller they have a bin for you to dig through and pick your own. (Most of them have some floppy joysticks so dig well and good) The consoles themselves can be tested and cleaned on purchase along with any other OG controller. Is the store the cleanest in the world? Eh. But who cares the selection is great along with the prices they offer. Sure you can probably find things cheaper here and there BUT the testing and guarantee that the game is there is the real attraction. Nostalgia is a price to pay. read more

Went searching for retro video games and GameHogs turned out to be an excellent choice. Convenient parking, amazing game selection for every system you can think of. The owner is very knowledgeable and will work with you if you make a reasonable offer. Recently expanded so they have toys, comics and other collectibles as well as an incredible selection of video games. Owner encourages you to dig around and explore the store to find what you want and I found this to be quite fun and a welcomed change not having to ask to see each game one at a time.
