Everything all the other reviews is true, this old evil man is just running a scam, that's it he is scamming innocent people . I should have known better of my first instinct but I drove all the way there so I gave him the benefit of doubt, he took me for the $100 up front fee. It was difficult together my receiver back then he got very aggressive when I refused to sign his receipt. He plays dumb over the phone when trying to get my receiver back after over two weeks but his English and comprehension was very good while taking my $100. What he is doing is very wrong, not sure why he has not been shut down, looking at the reviews this has been going on for years . read more

Created an account just to write a review on how horrible this company is and I advise you never to use them for any of your needs. Guy on the phone was the rudest person I have ever spoken to and even yelled at me saying that he doesn't want to waste his time talking to me. Yelp needs to make a zero star review reserved specifically for this company. read more

Mr R review is spot on. Tried telling me my powered subwoofer is from 1961! Gave all this BS about how he wished he was me as it is a very rare item. What a con man. I purchased it brand new from Best Buy in 2020. Said no parts are available and said repairs would be $4k! He is off his marbles. Very unstable personality. Just take a look at his place of business. Stay away ! read more

My LG 48" television set had no picture. Galaxy TV & Appliance had an in-home service and I called them to find out what was the problem and to fix it. The technician came and after a 5-10 minute look, said that to repair it, parts and labor, would be "over a thousand dollars" and that I should get a new one instead as it would be cheaper. I took his advice and ordered a new one and gave the old set to a handyman to dispose of it. The handyman took it home, was going to dump it the next day, and found that there was a blown fuse in the back of the TV set - which probably cost less than $1.00 - and replaced it. And the TV worked! read more

The old man is a Crook & Thief! Do Not use him. He demanded $100 cash up front and said it would be applied to the Repair. He had my Turntable for 6 weeks without an update on what the problem was and how much it would cost to repair. He had one excuse after another. It was a struggle to get it back and when I did he dropped it and broke the Stylus completely off. He will be reported to the Better Business Bureau and possibly the Police for Fraud. He should be shut down. Hope no one else uses him ever again. read more

This guy is a piece of work. I brought him a receiver to get fixed - no HDMI or optical output. He went on and on about how no one but him could fix this, only him! Long involved story about how he would "forget" what it was, and when I dropped it off, and that he had it. Later he called claiming he had learned that the part was $1000 and it would be $750 in labor. He kept talking over me, changing meet times, not answering my questions. I finally got super-frustrated and went to the time he insisted upon meeting at a storage place on Keeamoku in Honolulu at rush hour. (Not the place given on his website.) He kept going on about how my receiver was "rare" (it's not particularly) and trying to imply it was worth spending the money on. Basically accused me of stealing it because it was Japanese, not American. (Again, it's not, it was sold in box stores when it was new. I got it from Craigslist.) If he believed it was indeed rare, the only result I can think he was trying to achieve was making me so frustrated that I abandoned it and he could then fix it and sell it. But now, I think he just isn't capable at all and merely steals the "inspection fee". $89 in my case, down the hole. He even tried to physically intimidate me, getting up in my face when I grew loud and clenched my hands in frustration. Liar and thief. With the ugly economic practices of our capitalistic overlords, it's gotten very hard to repair things - they just want us to throw it away, pollute the environment and buy a new one that is designed to break down quickly and restart the vicious cycle. This sociopath is of the same type, just lower down the piranha chain. Guys like this make it harder and harder to maintain well-designed gear and make us mistrust our local repair folks. Happy ending: I "saved" $1700! I found the HDMI board for $50 on eBay and the receiver's now working great! Took 30 minutes to open it up, swap the board and solder three simple wires. Sounds fantastic! read more

I'd give zero or negative stars if I could. Extremely rude. Legit the most horrible experience I've ever had with any company.

I am always happy to leave a good review and I am reserved about leaving bad one's because things happen, and someone could be having an off day, however to echo the sentiments of someone here, I should have checked Yelp. It would seem this person ( Michael Kim ) is a serial scam artist. I Lost $170 and time. I lost my receipt, and found it 9 months later and when I called, I asked him why he never called me. It was very difficult to get him to agree to allow me to pick up my equipment, at first he indicated the parts would be hard to get, and the repair would be north of $900 to repair each item of two total. I believe he does this to avoid doing any repairs because he is not qualified to do so, and he just wants to keep the money. On the second attempt to arrange pick up, He told me parts are no longer available, when I know this is not true, and so I just picked up my stuff, and told him to his face that he is not telling me the truth, as I have had various pieces of equipment fixed before, and am aware that depending on the age, you can obtain parts equivalent values, often superior to the OEM parts at a reasonable price. He was very confrontational, and kept coming up with excuses. I could see I was getting nowhere with him, he was just stealing more of my time. He just took my money, gave me nothing in return, except the equipment I left with him, which there are no signs that he did anything, and refused to give my money back, and no diagnosis. I am going to report him to the attorney Generals office in hopes he would receive a cease and desist order. I have considered taking him to small claims court, although that will likely be a hollow victory, as its unlikely a person of such poor character, unless compelled will pay the damages, it will be just more wasted time. From the reviews listed here he is making good money just scamming people. He lives at 708 22nd st, and I leave this as someone who does not want this to happen to anyone else. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service and very rude. When calling to verify an appointment, the owner/operator didn't even address the appointment but rather placed blame on "sending him to voicemail" and followed it with "do you understand what I am saying... I called you." Completely redirecting the conversation from me calling to obtain an appointment to placing blame for not picking up a call... As a fellow business owner, I would never address prospective business the way he has within the first conversation. Will never recommend. read more

Very unprofessional and the technician is very rude. They came but didn't tell us about the house call fee of 139$. The unit is still under warranty. They will give you the run around and blame everything except the machine and charge you their house call fee without prior authorization. Mind you they didn't do nothing yet. Just look at the machine and turn it on and off and the machine would have an error message. They are the only LG service center in Oahu and I wouldn't recommend them. Returning my LG and looking for a different brand of dishwasher. The old technician had the gall to raise his voice to my father and almost threw hands and fight over the fee which was totally unexpected. We had to show them the door and told them to call LG for their fee which was ludicrous. Stay away from this LG service center technician very rude and disrespectful and unprofessional. read more

If you are referred to this company for a warranty repair, demand to be referred to another company, you will thank me. Starting from the initial contact to confirm our appointment that we were given by LG online. Language barriers are NO excuse to be rude and obnoxious to your customer! He continuously repeated himself about a RN# which turned out to be LG's fault for not providing us with it, but there is no need to yell at us for it! The owner and a woman arrived to my home after making us feel like we were a huge inconvenience and telling us that other customers will be upset, which is not our problem. Your business operations are not your customers problems. Why we thought his face to face interaction will differ from from our phone call was foolish our our part. He continuously told my mother to "stop talking" while simultaneously repeating himself gets us nowhere. He kept repeating he needed approval! Which I find foolish as the new washers tell you the problem code and LG booked this appointment. They should be able to call for approval instead of having to return to waste more time. In conclusion, we lose as PAYING warranty customers as my washer is still not fixed and my mother is aggravated and disrespected for no reason. Shame on LG for referring you to this company, while looking at all the terrible reviews dating back to 2018. I will be writing to LG as well. It's so sad that local repairmen treat local residents this way. read more

RED FLAG!!!! Don't! There's something OFF!!! I have an LG Washer/Dryer. Perfect fit for condo! But LE error motor lock. I called for repair. This cost me $140 cash. I was so hoping that Mr Michael Kim would be an ethical business practioner. His pricing is inflated and beyond notmal standards. As an individual he is charming in a 77year old man kinda way, which makes you want to believe grandfather would always protect me. But after my personal interview with Mr Michael Kim, in my home, with his "business partner", granfather is charming but his associate was quietly disagreeing with most everything Mr Michael Kim was verbally saying to me. Today I was forwarded on to this service center after talking on the phone with LG Support. I initially thought it was still LG Tech Support until I started to hear how horribly rude the person was. It was then I realized I had been forwarded on to an outside 3rd party company which is 1 of 3 listed on LG's website on Oahu as on-island LG Support. Long story short, it was a horrible communication experience and the guy actually ended up hanging up on me. Keep in mind the entire time he was very rude: Right off the bat he was very rushed asking what my issue was. He even said, "you've been on the phone but haven't said anything. What's your problem?!" (I assume he had to wait two seconds on the call he got that was forwarding me from LG to him, which was very soon after LG told me they'd forward me on to further support). I asked if he could help me troubleshoot my problem which is pink tint on my WBE OLED panel. He wouldn't hear out the issue at all and nonchalantly said that he had to do an in-home inspection. I asked for help via the phone. He kept saying an inspection was the only solution, even without hearing out my problem. After he got my address he then say he'd charge $130 for the in-house inspection. I asked once again for over-the-phone support/guidance and he immediately hung up. There were other things he said I can't recall but were rude and unwarranted. I called LG back and confirmed which service center I had been forwarded on to. It was Galaxy TV & Appliances here on Oahu. They asked if I wanted to file an official complaint with LG and I strongly recommended they remove them as a service provider as the experience was unwarranted and very, very unprofessional. No wonder Galaxy TV & Appliances is not accredited with the BBB even after years of somehow staying in business. The Google and Yelp reviews tell me so much... 1-star everywhere. I rarely leave a negative review but this was needed. Don't treat people like trash. Do not support this business by any means. Take your business elsewhere. Filing a complaint now with the BBB as this company should not be in business, especially after reading everyone else's complaints. read more

January 19, 2023, we purchased an Equator washer and dryer set from Connections Appliances based in Houston, Texas. May 30, 2024 the washer began to shake horribly and make grinding noises during the spin cycle. We contacted the manufacturer but were told the 1-year warranty had expired. Nevertheless, they referred us to Galaxy TV and Appliances in Honolulu, Hawaii - allegedly an authorized Equator repair service -- for inspection and diagnosis. Fortunately, we also had received a 5-year warranty from the vendor. I was instructed by the company providing the 5-year warranty to obtain a written report from the authorized repair service. Galaxy representatives conducted a house call on June 14, 2024. Upon inspection, they claimed that two bolts anchoring the ballast weight to the drum had become stripped leading to its imbalance during the spin cycle, was the source of the problem, and required the drum to be replaced. We paid Galaxy $146.90 for the house call; they only accepted cash; we have a receipt. I requested and was promised a written report of their findings. Galaxy TV and Appliances also volunteered to provide estimates for repair and replacement. Two weeks later, I received a call from Jennifer, representing Galaxy, to advise me they were preparing estimates but awaited shipping costs. At approximately 03:00PM MT, July 2, 2024, not having heard from Galaxy, I called them. Jennifer answered and asked me to text her my name and address to send the report. I did so, once again explaining the purpose of the report. Five hours later, a very rude, cranky older man called me back. He insisted that their verbal description during the house call of the outcome of the inspection was adequate. I repeatedly explained why it wasn't, that I had been promised a written report, and the warranty company required it before proceeding with my claim. This man become increasingly belligerent and argumentative, told me I had to pay for an estimate. I repeated that I wasn't seeking an estimate, simply the written report of their findings promised to me upon inspection. He hung up on me and refused to respond to my calls and texts. I subsequently reported Galaxy TV and Appliances to the Hawaii Better Business. No progress. I then secured the service of another vendor who was wonderful! He came on time, spent 2 hours inspecting and servicing the washer. He was able to adjust the ballast without difficulty, and assured me that replacing the drum at the cost of $1,000+ was not necessary. Draw your own conclusions from my experience with Galaxy TV and Appliances. read more

Should've checked Yelp before going. Lost $100. One word: untrustworthy. This clown (Michael Kim) of 708 22nd Ave. (Kaimuki) gives LG a bad rep. Does not keep his word of appointed times, left my window AC unit in same place on his driveway when i dropped off 5 days prior. I seriously doubt he even checked anything, yet song and dance about all kinds of repairs needed that would cost more than new one. Funny thing i recall he asked about the window shell part (now why would he need that irrelevant part for repair? Unless had plans i would abandon it with him or something, & maybe backdoor sell it). Came off as an "old timer" that knows his stuff (fooled me). When i came at time suggested by him to pickup, no where to be found, no answer to calls. Called out loudly numerous times, as it appeared an older Asian woman was upstairs. I saw my unit open view in driveway, got it and loaded my car, left the area and a phone message, thanking him for leaving it where i could retrieve it (giving him a chance to save face). Later, he called all bent about me getting back my personal property and him accusing me of "entering his house" (ah, bullshit). After a few rude exchanges with him and a female, and a text from them, i set them straight. Avoid this "business" for it is not. Gotta try contact LG and get his representation status terminated. Maybe BBB also. read more

Rude and unprofessional, Would not recommend! Called and asked about getting an LG appliance looked at, didn't understand what I said but eventually we got something scheduled. He didn't mention any estimate fees during our phone call. Skip this company if you need home repairs. Woman who answers phone is rude, repairman is ruder. Woman was exasperated when I was unable to be home for the time most convenient to them. No answers given as to how much the repair might cost or how long it would take to complete the repair, all questions referred to Select Home Warranty. Two people (woman who answers phone and the repairman) both entered our home during COVID lockdown (why? Beats me, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable). I provided hand sanitizer and asked that the repairman not touch my sink but he ignored me and washed his hands and used my kitchen towel. This is the worst possible place to take any repair item to. Michael, who is who I dealt with never did communicate with me. I called and when lucky, he answered. I said I paid to fix sound because you said everything else is good. Now you want me to pay you to fix the picture problem. I told him at the start if it cost more than $300, it is not worth fixing. He assumed me if I fixed sound problem I would have years of good service. He called me at 7 pm to pick up the TV. When I arrived at 8 pm he had the TV in his patio with no lights on. He turned on the TV, In the dark picture seemed OK. Now I know why he had the TV in the dark because in a lighted room the picture would be dark. This company is absolutely terrible. LG told us to use this company to start a warranty service on our dishwasher, the man and woman who arrived looked at the dishwasher for 10 minutes after we already demonstrated what was wrong with it. They did absolutely nothing and when asked what the problem was, they didn't know. They demanded $125 for the house call. They turned it on and off and gave us a run around about how they have to order parts and pay for the parts themselves. I told them that I would pay the amount after they replaced the service part under warranty. They argued with me that the house call fee was $125. I told them I had nothing in writing agreeing to that, and I would pay them only for services rendered and per LG require a diagnosis and assessment which they did not even have. They said the fee was for showing up at my house. In which case I asked them since they had rendered no services to leave my premises and that I refused their further services. They said that they would NOT. I told them they were now trespassing and they still would not leave my house. I started video recording them in my house and refusing to leave and the man started putting his pad up in my face to block his view. They left to their unmarked car which I continued to film. The man told me it was illegal to film his plates! I'm on my own property and their vehicle is in front of my house, and he's taking pictures of me! I had to threaten to call the police if they didn't leave my house. This was the most ridiculous service I have ever had! Our LG 14000btu portable Air Con works fine now, but this seems to be a 1 man shop, run by very senior guy, working from his family home in Kaimuki. Apparently contracted to handle warranty repair on the unit we bought from Home Depot. After calling the 800 number on our warranty, this guy called us to say they don't do home visits for portable units. We explained that we would complain since we paid for the warranty. He called back to schedule a visit. They arrived in a family van, and I had to help him load it in the back of their car to lay it on their personal items. If I didn't ask to take a pic of the invoice that they had me sign, I don't think they would've left me anything. I called after a week because we didn't hear from them. Coincidentally, he told me the part just came in, and that he would call for me to pick up. We called Home Depot to complain about the service. Home Depot told us they spoke to him and he told them it would be done that week. He called me early Saturday evening telling me I should pick up in 30 to 45 minutes. I said no, tho would pick up Sunday morning. When I got there I had to park on the street while someone came out to walk me in. I asked to test it, and while testing he kept pointing out that nobody would do this kind of job. I let him vent. They were never rude to me, except for sharing his thoughts, implying it wasn't a smart purchase. He tried to help me load it in my car, but I felt safer doing it on my own. I didn't ask for another copy of the same invoice they asked me to date & sign again to confirm pick up. Except for the symptoms we reported, there was nothing to indicate the work performed. read more

This guy is a real peace of work. I had a specialty piece of equipment (geiger counter) and needed the voltage checked on the transformer (would have taken two minutes). He said he could fix it, even though he had no idea what it was. I had the schematic so thought it was reasonable that he might be able to fix it. I told him the equipment only cost $100 and was over 50 years old. He wanted $30 for the estimate and said it would be applied to the repairs. Again, I told him that what I primarily wanted him to do was check the voltage, and that I did not want to spend much money on the item. He told me he would have an answer in two days. Well, two days later I did get a call from him, but he had no idea who I was. I had to remind him several times that I had the geiger counter and had already left it with him. He said he would call me back later that day. Well, he didn't. So this game went on several more days and finally he called me to say I could meet him to discuss the repairs. When I got there he said the repairs would cost $150 but could not tell me what he was going to repair. Further, he had forgotten what the device was, again. I told him that $150 was not reasonable for such a simple circuit, especially considering that it was 50% more than the unit cost in the first place. He then accused me of lying about the price, then he accused me of lying about the age of the equipment. I feel like I waisted $30 and a week of time and got nothing but aggrivation in the process. DO NOT USE THE PEOPLE!!! Unless you like being treated like a criminal in your own home. This was an LG warranty repair for my induction range. At first the technician was incensed that he had to park on the street as I have no guest parking in my building. Then he and the woman who accompanied home were rude and had no idea how to even work the range. While using my owners manual. Finally they said it was repaired and when I asked if they had tested the temperature, more outrage at how I could possibly doubt their authority. Saying "when you put your hand in the oven it's hot". Refusing to test the temperature. I had to kick the man out of my house for the way he spoke to me. The woman came back with a thermometer and tested the temp and it registered at 478 degrees when set to 350 again saying that "it will cook quickly" and that it is fixed. Again do not use these people unless you want to be treated as a criminal in your own home. And have no repairs done. read more

My experience with this company was very bad. When I called them to come out for a house call, I had a hard time explaining to the person about my problem because he didn't really speak or understand English. Then when they came back to bring my washing machine back, I had to help carry again! WTF! After putting in the washer, they left and told me to test run the machine. Upon testing, water was shooting out of the drain hose. Apparently they didn't put the drain hose into the drain. There was water everywhere. SMH! Worst company ever and should be closed down. The telephone number he texted from is different from his 9225080 number and is listed with BBB as Triple J Cleaning Services ...... rather shady. When he came with his assistant/ translator he complained about parking as well as communicating via text. Hello, this is 2019. He doesn't even speak English so can you imagine having a telephone conversation with him? The problem concerned the TV which for some inexplicable reason had sparks flying from it! To my amateur electrician's/ TV repair person's mind, I guess it had a power surge. So, this person and his assistant/translator came to fix it. To cut a long story short they asked me what the different wires etc were for! Oh, did I mention that I am an amateur electrician/TV repair specialist? Well, as a matter of fact I know zero about TV's and the ins and outs of electricity, so needless to say I said I had no clue what the various wires were for and asked him if he had ever done this kind of work before.
