I've been coming to G Pub for years, but I've found myself here even more often recently while watching the World Cup, and every visit has been an absolute blast. If you're looking for a place to catch a big game in Providence, I honestly don't think there's a better option.
The first thing you'll notice is just how much space there is. Even when the place is busy, it rarely feels cramped. The open layout gives everyone room to spread out, and with TVs seemingly everywhere you never have to fight for a good view. Whether you're there for soccer, football, hockey, or March Madness, it's one of the best sports-viewing setups around. No matter where you're sitting, you can keep an eye on the game.
I also love the atmosphere. The industrial tavern look with the exposed ductwork, brick, and historic columns gives the place a lot of character without trying too hard. It's casual enough to grab a beer after work, but nice enough to spend an entire evening with friends.
The food deserves just as much praise as the atmosphere. This isn't your average pub menu. They take familiar comfort food and elevate it without making it overly complicated. The OG Burger is outstanding and one of my go-to orders whenever I'm there. If you're with a group, don't skip the Everything Bagel Pretzels. They're perfect for sharing and disappear from the table much faster than you'd expect.
The beer selection is another reason I keep coming back. They have an impressive lineup of craft beers with a great mix of local Rhode Island breweries and regional favorites, so there's always something new to try alongside the classics.
One feature that doesn't get talked about enough is the valet parking. Anyone who has spent time driving around downtown Providence knows parking can be frustrating, so having valet available makes the whole experience that much easier. It's also in a great location if you're heading to a show at the G Hospitality theater. We've met friends there before performances, grabbed dinner and drinks, and simply walked over when it was time for the show.
What really ties everything together is the energy. Whether it's a packed house during the World Cup, a busy Friday night, or just a random weeknight, G Pub has a fun atmosphere that keeps people coming back. The staff has always been friendly, the food is consistently good, the drinks never disappoint, and the whole place just knows what it wants to be.
I've been here more times than I can count, and I fully expect there will be many more visits ahead. If you're in downtown Providence looking for great food, excellent beer, and one of the best places in the city to watch a game, G Pub is an easy five-star recommendation. read more
