I went to G Pub a couple weeks ago. The service was great. For an app I had the fries with truffle oil and the pretzel bites too. they were very good I ordered the Ramen and I ended up sending it back because the waitress asked me if i liked it and i told her it was okay pretty much just edible. She offered me a new dish and I got the fish tacos which were also just okay but at that point I wasn't going to send that back. So pretty much the 2 Entrées I ordered typically have alot of flavor, these were just bland. I'm sure the burgers and hot dogs are awesome but as far as their Ramen and Tacos I would probably just stick to the basic pub food. The place is visually amazing and the service was also very good. I'll definitely give the place another shot because of the service I received. read more

We came to G-Pub for the first time on Saturday night. We had walked by previously and it looked like a people were having a good time and enjoying their food. We had heard it has a Karaoke room and the place just looked very cool overall. We made a reservation in advance (party of 6) that was easy enough and we were seated right away. It is definitely a cool place, the decor is industrial and was packed. Our server was very nice and as attentive as she could because it was so busy. She was very well versed on the menu as well as the bar selections. We had Calamari and pretzel snacks to start. The calamari was delicious would definitely get that again. The pretzels were ok, nothing to write home about. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, it looked great when I got their presentation of the sandwiches on cutting boards was cute. Unfortunately my sandwich was cold, so i sent it back when it came back it was at best luke warm. All in all the sandwich was not good the only positive was the bread. Two of my friends also received cold food and they had fish tacos, but those seemed to be good. One person ordered a burger it was cooked perfectly so it wasn't bad. Another person had a turkey sandwich, complaints there and the last person had a chicken sandwich which was good but they were a bit stingy on the toppings. We also got fries with the sandwiches which were good. Although, this experience was so great we are going to try it one more time. Hopefully I can write a new positive review then. read more

Very very cool space. Feels like the Googleplex and decaying Detroit got together and birthed a basement gastropub. Great little beer menu. Organized by tap, bottle, and can. Was there on a Wednesday night around 10 and it was busy but not too loud and had no wait. We ate off their late night menu which starts at 10. My wife had a slider combo that came with a lobster roll, slider burger, and what you may think is a mini sloppy joe but is actually a Dynamite - an old school RI concoction! She enjoyed it. I had the chips and dip, which were just OK. My wife's friend had good things to say about the pretzels. Seemed like a good mix of hipsters, suits, bros, and regular folk. We'll be back, for sure. read more

Food is very good but they really need to do something with the acoustics of the place. You cant hear the people right near you even when its not busy. They also need to dim the lighting a bit. read more

Went to GPub's Rooftop Bar (entrance at 100 Dorrance St) on 6/28... a perfect spot for dinner on a balmy summer evening with views of the Providence skyline including the Biltmore. Everything we ordered was excellent, of the highest quality to be found in a gastropub, and the atmosphere could not be beat. Excellent customer service from our server despite the fact that she was obviously very busy since the place was full. Noise level a bit elevated (the place was busy) but not excessively so. Will definitely be back. read more

Awesome place for awesome beer list and good cheap eats. Our server Gregg was excellent and took excellent care of us. Water refills were timely as were the beer refills. Had the gansett pastrami sandwich with a side if slaw and fries. All were excellent. Big place located in the basement of the old gas company building. The bar was massive and staffed with 3 bartenders and a bar-back. read more

My husband and I went to dinner here before going to PPAC. The atmosphere is nice and the servers were very attentive. The menu sounds great, but was slightly disappointing. Specifically they have 4 different burgers and each sounds amazing, however when I asked to have it medium rare they said it wasn't possible because all the burgers are made to the same temperature. The waitress explained that the burgers are actually two very thin patties so it's virtually impossible to have any temperature other than well- done. It's sort of a glorified fast food burger. That was a real let down. I hope these guys decide to splurge in the future for more quality meat. If I can't have my burger made the way I like it then I don't think it's worth the $. I'd probably not go back. On the other hand, my husband had a very good Cuban sandwich!! read more

Awful service (12/29) I've had very good experiences at G-Pub in the past and was excited to bring 3 friends there for the first time on 12/29. The service was embarrassing. Out waiter Dylan missed our drink orders several time and we had to keep reordering them. Out main dishes were brought out BEFORE our apps and he blamed the kitchen. The apps were sitting on the counter and were cold on arrival. Finally, we asked to take home the left-overs (our appetizers which came late) and waited at the table over 20 mins--it never arrived. When I walked over and asked Dylan about it he said he thought we didn't want it so he threw it out. The food was good--but the service tonight ruined the entire experience. I sensed that other tables were having similar issues... Will definitely go back because the food wasn't bad--but will definitely ask for another server... read more

This place is a hidden gem if you aren't aware of it. So you walk up to a double glass door with a well lit foyer. I did not expect to walk down the stairs & see a huge floor plan. It was cool. Pool tables, T.V.'s, a huge bar, and a chef who makes deconstructed culinary magics exist on your plate if you want, or gourmet bar food if your not adventurous (be adventurous, it's much tastier!). I had a deconstructed beef stew... so mind blowing. they ordered wings with some kind of asian inspired sauce like general tso chicken, fantastic! We were drinking tequila and had a great time. Even the guy who brought us water was super friendly and accommodating (love ya Shane). We will definitely be back. I went with my wife & her cousin, not rowdy, but a lot of really cool high energy in the atmosphere (very fun to be around). read more

Great atmosphere. Food and beer is good, if you don't mmd waiting...and waiting. This is a unique place in Providence, in that it is really well designed and laid out. Really cool place, with good food, pool tables, and beer selection on tap. The problem is that the service is SLOWWWWwww ... They don't have enough servers, and there is zero urgency in their step. And no wonder, the manger sends too much time standing outside, on his phone or smoking. With a leadership/attitude change, this place would be fantastic. read more

Business lost. Signed up for Yelp solely to express my disdain for how my reservations were handled. I decided to check this place out for my girlfriend's birthday, but never made it there and will not be trying again. I made an online reservation today on OpenTable for 9:15 just to be sure because my girlfriend was coming down from Boston. I received a voicemail three hours later telling me that there was a private event and the kitchen would be closed at 9 and they wanted to know if I wanted to keep or cancel the reservation. When I called back and asked what the latest reservation I could get before 9 was, I was told I could keep it, I just could not order food ...isn't that point of a reservation? I don't know of any restaurants that take reservations for getting drinks? Anyway... I clarified one more time..."so the private event is until 9, and the kitchen is closed after it?." She explained again I could keep it but not get any food, so I canceled it. The part that gets me is, not a single "sorry" - "for the inconvenience"...etc... So, apparently G Pub is unapologetically ok with taking online reservations on days when they are shut down for a private event and just letting potential patrons just go... read more

This place can be described as a best kept secret in downtown Providence due to their signage. GPub is this interesting mix of an exciting sports bar and casual restaurant. When I heard the name GPub I was not exactly sure what to expect. Here you will find everything from shuffle boards, pool tables, and karaoke rooms. There are big flat screen tvs plastered everywhere- everywhere!! Despite the aforementioned, this can really be an entertaining place for anyone. The food is absolutely delicious. Their nachos are a must try! The food is definitely not your typical sports bar food. However, the food selections are not vast and the plating of entrees can be challenging to consume due to the plate size. If you are looking for friendly staff, this is not your place although they excel in every other area. Especially quick service! Overall, GPub is a great place to go with reasonable pricing on every menu item. Great for any college student or anyone else looking for a change of scenery. Unless you are not a sports fan or can tolerate loud conversations and additional noise at times. I definitely will be back!!! read more

Awesome early dinner, food was great on all levels and upscale for a Pub. Nice basement atmosphere too!

Very very bad host/manager... first off, got bumped off from our reservation to separate tables, not a long table. No reasons!!!! We had a party of 20s, spreading 4 tables.... our guest was isolated! managers are awful!!!!!! Did not accommodate for the inconvenience, ppl was standing all over the restaurant. They did not know how to manage the seating/tables, small party or big parties... would not go there again nor recommend this spot! read more

GPub is hidden gem located in a beautiful area of Downtown Providence. This restaurant is the epitome of farm to table. I come here every Sunday. The best part about GPub is the BBQ pulled pork sliders. These sliders and plated beautifully and taste even better. GPub could charge me triple their price and I'd still be a happy customer. You can't go wrong going on any Sunday and ordering 3 sliders and 8 wings for 10$. I don't know what my life would be without GPub because it's now part of my everyday life. read more

G Pub - Gastropubs Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

Excellent lunch. Had a simple grilled chicken sandwich with homemade fries. Delicious. Edamame starter was excellent too. Very nice waitress. Was the exact atmosphere I was looking for. read more

G Pub is a great restaurant to go for a casual dinner, or to watch a sports game. My favorite time to come here is on a Sunday afternoon to grab a beer and some nachos. The pulled pork nachos are out of this world! I've generally found the service to be friendly and prompt, and I've never been disappointed with the food here. The Eiffel Tower burger is one of my favorite things on the menu. G Pub is a casual sports bar with an upscale environment, but is still incredibly affordable. Even though I'm not a big football fan, I don't complain about having to sit through games when I get to watch them at G Pub. read more

I can't believe the ratings aren't all 5 stars for this place! This is my third visit to G Pub and every time is fantastic. Favorites include gravy truffle fries, Eiffel Tower burger, and the salmon. The food has been superior. Love the atmosphere, great service and the pool tables, air hockey, karaoke rooms, etc, are an added bonus! My teenagers insist on going there whenever we are in the area, and I am happy to comply! read more

It's a great atmosphere, one of my favorites in Providence. Food is decent, lots of beers on tap and lots of games. My only complaints are how overpriced it is and how short staffed they are. Takes too long to get food/drinks. read more

Let me first just say how much I love going to G Pub but today just wasn't a good day , a bad experience turned into a great one of course thanks to Justin !!! Such a gentleman , he was a great server/bartender and if it wasn't for his attentiveness and care for the industry he's in this would've been G pubs first bad review but thanks to him they will continue to get my business and they're lucky to have such a hard working man working for them . Thanks again to him and Nikki who took great care of us . read more

Great food, great beer, great place to watch sports. Coming back every Sunday to watch some football!

Our friend was assaulted by security guards for no apparent reason. Music too loud, and staff was extremely unfriendly. We called the police and they were very kind. I'd like to give a shoutout to Officer Diaz for being so helpful! read more

this place has a great rooftop atmosphere and service was very good. however we were disappointed in the actual pizza we got. I didn't think it was good enough pizza for providence. hopefully they'll fix that. read more

Craving a bar food experience, we came in for a happy hour we saw their sign in the financial district. Our party came in separately and got nachos and calamari. Both were average. The prices seemed reasonable but when we got the food we realized why, it was just really basic and unimaginative. We had two rounds of beers, they have a lot of drafts but its stuff you would expect to see at a sports pub. If the beer list was better, we probably would have stayed a little longer but we ended up going to Trinity to show some colleagues their beers. You kind of get the sense they are more about volume here, just pushing stuff out rather than taking the time and care to connect with customers. Not sure if I will be back, we are trying everywhere in the area since our office is in the financial district. read more

Service and atmosphere were great. I ordered the calamari, which was cooked beautifully; however, it was so over salted that I couldn't eat more than a third of it. Very disappointing. read more

Delicious! Fun! A great place for lunch or dinner or just to hang out. My daughter had the clam chowder (10/10 she said) and OG Burger (also great!). I enjoyed the BLT -- perfect mix of ingredients. The fries are an added bonus. Parking on street is easy but there is also valet/onsite parking. Can't wait to head back with friends to hang out, have some drinks and play games! read more

Let me be clear, my husband and I didn't have a good meal here. So why did I give 4 stars? The service was terrific. Our waitress was very attentive, asked the right questions and was genuinely concerned that we didn't eat most of our food (except the cobb salad, that was amazing!). She took it upon herself to make sure the manager knew we were disappointed with our meal. The manager (also great) asked us about our food, and what we didnt like. He ended up comping our entrees, and sincerely apologized for the shortcomings of the food. So rather than write a review telling you what was wrong with the food, I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. The place is brand new, and they are still sorting out things. But the way the manager and server handled the situation made us want to come back and give it another shot. Always try a place twice. read more

Great burgers. Decent pricing on food and drinks considering the downtown location. A go to for sure.

Trendy, yes. But how many ropes can you fit into one space? I bought a drink at the bar, but the 12 bar stools were taken. The rest of the rooftop was 50% empty, yet every seat had a rope in front of it. Long day at work, 50 empty seats, yet no where to sit! Much too pretentious!!! If you reserved with your group, fine. If your looking for a friendly place to grab a drink in Providence...stay away!!!!! read more

Stopped in for a quick bite before a 7:30 show at the PPAC on a Friday night. Hostess seated us promptly at a high top in the bar area. Table section seemed to be mostly reserved and started filling up after we arrived. Our waitress Leah couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. We had burgers, a tuna wrap and kids meals and everyone thought theirs was excellent. It was just what we were looking for. Will definitely come back and try a few more menu items. read more

As a frequent traveler I am always looking for a friendly place to eat and have a drink after a work. The Gpub is one of the best I have found lately. Jessica and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. Great service even though the place was busy. The menu is fairly simple pub grub but prepared to a level that is rarely found. I had the steak frites, calamari, chowder, and fish and chips on different nights. All were prepared expertly. As an avid user of help I rely on these reviews to choose places to dine. So, if I had one critique of the food, it was the use of truffle oil on the fries with the steak frites. The oil is extremely pungent and was probably over done. But, don't let that stop you from visiting. In a town full of expensive eateries this is a good value. I will visit every time i'm in town. read more

Loved, loved, loved it. We ordered so much food and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. To start we had calamari, which was crispy yet tender with a hot pepper relish. The chicken wings were the best I've had anywhere around, I like them crunchy and saucy not mushy. The mussels were so good I need to ask for takeout container for the sauce. The hot dogs are made from scratch (who even does that) now I'm spoiled for regular ones. Fish tacos are made with a nice white fish, so fresh, Yum. I can't say enough good stuff about this food!! Service was great and the atmosphere is so cool, like nothing in Providence. I would definitely bring my kids here for dinner, but I'm especially excited I've finally found a fun, great place for adults to hang for night out! read more

I went to G Pub for the first time for my friend's 21st birthday and we received extremely poor service. There were about 15 of us, not all of drinking age, and we made a reservation. When we arrived we were directed to a private room with some comfy couches and karaoke! The atmosphere was really cool, but when our waitress Shayna came to take our order she had a huge attitude. In my opinion she was not looking forward to serving a large group of young adults which is no excuse for her behavior. She came back after we decided what we wanted and the four people that were getting alcoholic beverages ordered. Shayna rudely asked each of them for their I.D.'s and snatched them from their hands without any sort of courtesy or pleasantness. Then, she obviously went to speak to her manager about our group and he came to speak to us. He told us that if anyone underage were to be drinking on the premises we would be kicked out to never return. We were completely understanding because that is what a business with a liquor license should do. Time passes and we decide to leave and our waitress ignores our requests for the checks in passing and it takes 10-15 minutes for her to actually deliver the bills. On our way out, a few of us stopped to discuss our complaints with the manager that spoke with us earlier. We were perfectly kind and not aggressive in any way, only expressing our concerns for their poor service. The manager immediately was asking us "why?", "how was she rude?" and "what did she say?". There was no apology or reception of our complaints, only defensive remarks. A better response would have been "I'm sorry, what could we have done to make your experience more enjoyable?" We all attend a hospitality school and I myself work in the service industry, so I know quite a bit about the subject. The service at G Pub was not only awful, but the management was also not understanding. As we left, the manager said he hoped we would come back, but I know I never will. read more

The service was terrible. My date and I both ordered the chicken and waffles. The server did not come back to our table for at least 30 minutes and when he did, he told us that they had run out. We then ordered an appetizer and each a Caesar salad - 1 with chicken, 1 with steak. Another 30 minutes passed by before we were informed there was no steak. So it took over an hour and a half to get 2 salads and an appetizer. Meanwhile, our friends had ordered, gotten their food and finished eating all before the server informed us of not having chicken and waffles. The server did not take anything off the bill as a way to apologize. I would highly recommend the staff be informed of exactly what is not available on the menu PRIOR to service. I will not be returning to the G Pub. read more
