Fantastic set done my Tina at G Nails. Her and Kieth have always gone above to make my dream nails come true. Highly recommend this spot. Great prices, amazing attention to detail, and overall great people. Their salon is always clean and relaxing. I cannot recommend them enough!!
Best Nail Salon in Davis. GO HERE!!!!!! They are understaffed because of the pandemic, and as a result, do not do walk-ins, but by appointments only. You can easily get an appointment for the next day. My appointment was for 12:30, was seen right away, and I believe I was out ~1:45. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi, no gel. Not only did Keith give me a long and strong massage, hot stones that were actually hot, callus removal, lotion, hot towels, cuticle care, etc, but watching him effortlessly put the polish on, in seconds, was so satisfying!! We talked the whole time and he told me about his kids in college and their career goals and aspirations, along with how hard it's hit their business during the pandemic. It really makes you want to support this business, like many Davis locals do. The female nail tech was super friendly as well, smiled and asked how my day was and asked what shape I wanted, asked how I liked it throughout her shaping my nails as well. They accept cash, card, Venmo and Zelle. Entire treatment was $43, without tip.
They're good. I got acrylic nails which ended up being dip acrylic instead of shaping the acrylic mixture which I was used to so that was unexpected and not my favourite but not bad. I will mention they only take venmo, zelle, or cash which was unfortunate for someone like me from out of the country, however they have an atm inside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I just wish this had been advertised to me on the website or something.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall not a bad experience for the one time I went, would consider going back.
3 weeks later and still going STRONG! These nails just won't quit. I have a lot of grow but I'm rolling with it because not a single nail has chipped. I'm not sure how they did it. I'm super active and not the most careful person in the world and they're in great shape.
Update: just want to show you guys how good it looks a month later. No peeling or chipping, just grown out they did such a careful job shaping my nail to what I wanted. They're always so good to my nails and do such a good job with gel, it lasts for a while (3 weeks) the only reason I get them redone is bc my nails grow out. Annnnndd all for $25 love th
I've gone to G Nail twice for dip nail extensions and had appointments with Tina, and both were very pleasant experiences! It took 3 weeks before I had any lifting and needed a fill and I work with my hands a lot so I was surprised. Tina always makes sure I'm happy with the nail length and shape, and always does an amazing job!

I had a great experience at G Nails & Spa! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The nail technicians are amazing, professional, and so welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My nail technician was very gentle on my hands and paid attention to every detail for my manicure from start to finish. The nail shop is decorated with lovely photographs of Vietnam that were personally photographed by the owner and showcase the authenticity of Vietnamese culture. They have very fair pricing at this location. Make sure to call ahead just in case to see if they're taking walk-ins or if they require appointments ahead of time. I'll definitely be coming back as a regular. This is truly a gem in Davis. read more
Hooray! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Had a great pedicure and super nice chat with Kim at this spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was able to walk in and have my tropical pedicure right away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was the only one here. Davis gets kinda slow in the summer even for pedicures because of the UCD students being away. So I enjoyed the quiet time. $45 for my treatment which was one step up fro the base pedicure price. The massage was so relaxing. (Note - they don't take Apple Pay and charge +3% on credit card charges) read more

Absolutely gorgeous I got my nails done by the owner and she did the most amazing job. I got a Full Set of Gel Powder in the color #510. Cost $60. She was extremely welcoming and we chatted the whole time. Very gentle with the nail file and meticulous. The shop is family run, been up for 12 years and their experience shows. They are short staffed so I would call in for an appointment before coming. 10/10 would come back. Thank you!!! read more

I went there to remove my acrylic nails. The lady didnt soak my nails first, instead she tried to take it off brutally by using other fake nails. THIS IS NOT THE PROFESSIONAL WAY TO REMOVE ACRYLIC!!!BUT THEY SAY IT'S OK !!I told her it hurts so she soaked the other ones remained. I asked her why she didn't use it at first, she said because it takes too much time to remove it. (so she rather makes her customer feels extremely painful than using the proper way)After soaking my nails, she used the drill and accidentally went to deep that hurt my actual nail. It was too painful that I screamed and told her to stop. The guy (manager?) asked me to leave and told me this is how they remove acrylic nails. i went to other nail salons in davis and they said what she did was a total bs and she was just trying to save her time. Look at my nails they look so awful. No apologies. No compensation. But ask me to leave with a really bad attitude. read more

Glad I stuck with this salon from my first experience... They are so friendly and excellent at what they do! For removal of old dip, Pink/white French dip with no extensions $50. I also got a sparkly red pedicure just in time for the holidays for $40 ($5 to remove old gel). He gave me an extra long leg massage free of charge when I mentioned I had just been in the car for 8 hours the day before and used the hot stones!! So divine!! Got to also bring my MIL here and she loved the experience and the service as well! Definitely will be my new nail place!!! read more

This salon has nice ambience and fair pricing, but my experience today was pretty disappointing. My pedicurist was a bit unprofessional in the fact that he left a lot of polish on my skin, didn't ask me the length/shape I wanted before trimming my nails, and left a small cut on my toe without mentioning it. My friend came with me and hers turned out great so I think it's just circumstantial. read more

Made an appointment on Friday for today (Sat) at 3pm. When I arrived it was the tail end of a busy period, I was ~5 mins late to the appointment. I don't think it was necessary to have one to be honest. They have an appointment book but were taking walk-ins too. I waited longer than expected, about 20-25 mins for my appointment. To be honest, this doesn't bother me that much because I just waited on my phone and chose my gel color. I was acknowledged three times and apologized to which I think was fair as well. This was done by Tina. Tina was my manicurist. She was very nice; I appreciated that she seemed content talking or sitting in silence comfortably. I have gel or dip over natural nails lately. I asked her to cut them short and do a rounded shape which she did. She did three layers gel and 2 layers top coat which I felt meant she was wanting it to last for me and taking her time. My nails came out really nicely with pretty meticulous and clean edges, etc. The shaping could've been done more but I did ask short and universally, in my experience, shaping is always less perfect when you have your nails at the tip of the finger or just past. It did not feel rushed, which was appreciated. It felt clean and tidy. The tools looked clean and/or not previously used on others. She used fresh gloves as well. I saw their sanitization station clearly by the hand washing station. They had marked out waiting areas on the floor (and seating). They also had plastic guards on the manicure tables. Masks required for everyone of course. Location is across the street from Philz Coffee and the used bookstore on 2nd street, it's next door to the fish restaurant. It has a photography studio inside the shop too. Parking was not much of a problem. If the pandemic was not happening, I'd say give yourself 15-20 mins to park. With Covid, I'd say 5-10 mins is plenty. I don't know if they reduced pricing during the pandemic or this is standard. It was $28 for a standard gel manicure which I thought was super fair. Bay Area is usually closer to $35 (I just moved back to Davis after 3 years in October). So that is something to consider. I will certainly be back as this is one of the better nail salons in Davis! They have an ATM in the shop. I do not believe they are cash only. But I just pulled out cash at the Bank of America right down the street because it is easier and with this pandemic I know it's more desirable for many. I would just say pay in cash at any nail salon if you can right now. Plus, after my last nail salon visit to a place in Sacramento that made me pay in cash despite having a debit card machine and no signage even requesting cash payments, I felt it was better to be safe than sorry. Cleanliness: 4/5 Location: 4/5 Staff friendliness/attentiveness: 4/5 Manicure: 5/5 (was just slightly rough on the tip of the nails on some fingers). They do put cuticle remover at the start and cuticle oil at the end before doing the alcohol wipe off. Pricing: 5/5 read more

THEY ARE OPEN SUPPORT THIS SMALL BUSINESS! Tina never disappoints. I am so glad they are back at it. They are getting new salon chairs and I got to be the first one to try it!! I really appreciate Kiet and Tina 100%. They do quality work with amazing customer service. Tina always does my nails and she knows exactly how I want them. I will forever come here. They are currently practicing COVID 19 measures. Masks requirements, signed document, hand sanitizer and social distancing. Call ahead to make an appointment. read more
This is the best pedicure I have ever had!!! She paid so much attention from the massage to getting rid of the dead skin. It was so relaxing and the massage was phenomenal! My hubby got the kings pedicure and nearly fell asleep. I got the chocolate pedicure and it smelled amazing! It is so clean, soothing and the technicians are very friendly! read more

Went in for a pedi and gel mani. Pedi was okay. When I sat down for the mani, the towel from the previous customer was still there (and very dirty). I requested a new towel and the technician refused. I asked again and showed her the filth, where she just folded the towel in half. As my old gel nails were soaking, the technician grabbed the tools for my nails, which were visibly dirty. I asked for new tools, to which now two technicians began arguing with me that they were clean. I have eyes. They were not clean. I decided to change my mind and asked for a gel removal only. The pics included are how she sent me home. Old gel still stuck, not filed, chipping. Gross. read more

- hi update. I just wanted to say how appreciative I am of this nail salon. I have been going to them for 3 years now (omg) and I really love the work that they do. I'm always so happy with their work and everyone is literally so nice to me. Prices are just the same as other Davis places (even cheaper at some places). And they are all super fair with pricing and services offered. And if they mess up after a day or two, coming after with in 1-3 days (not like a week or two) they are obviously going to fix it for freessss. I have never gotten a bleeding finger, a nail infection, or anything that indicates a not clean salon. Since I'm here all the time smh, I always see them cleaning the tubs and everything after every client (which is why they don't need those plastic linings). Versus some other salons in davis that have given me nail infections to me :(. I never really post on yelp, but when I do, it's because I truly believe in a business. And these people are people that I truly believe in. I'm sure many other people love coming here and agree with me. But these workers are people too, and honestly they are a bunch of family to me. But yes, I just wanted to say thank you and I HIGHLY recommend coming here. Also, plz look at my new fancy nails I got today . read more

First time getting my nails done here. I decided to try this place because it was in walking distance from my home. I am very impressed. I got a gel mani and lemon pedi. Thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing jazz and aroma from the fresh lemon she used on my feet. I will definitely be a returning customer because of their excellent service. They take their time and ask you for feedback on shaping. Overall I had a great experience. Call ahead to make an appointment. Yes I'm feeling good after some nice me time. read more

This is my go-to nail salon in Davis! G-nails is always super reliable and consistent. They have plenty of color options and never fail to impress! I typically get an acrylic gel manicure and it takes about an hour, and they always do a really good job. During my most recent experience, I arrived around 6:30pm, not knowing they closed at 7pm. I asked for an acrylic, gel, manicure like I always do, and they took me, even knowing they would have to stay past their closing time. I felt horrible for making the nail technician work overtime, but she stuck it out and still did a beautiful job (photo included). The staff here are super friendly and will make conversation with you, which makes the experience 10x more enjoyable. read more

Made an appointment for two mani-pedis. My friend and I came and waited 45 minutes to be seated. Mind you, other people who had been waiting LESS were seated before us. Once seated, I chose three different colors for my full set because they DIDNT have the colors I initially chose. (Why have them as options, right?) The service was okay, seemed like she did a good job. We had already been there for TWO HOURS so we just ended up skipping a pedicure. The best part of the story is when two days later the gel polish on my full set started to CHIP. Exactly one week later, my nail completely broke. My friend and I will not be coming back... read more

Took 2 hours for a basic mani pedi. And that was without any wait time. She started my pedi at 1:15pm and I wasn't out till 3:15. You could tell she was inexperienced with the slowness of how she painted my nails, the thickness of polish, and the massage being mostly a rub. When I complained about it the man in charge said it was good for me and he told the woman to spend extra time with me and next time I should say I'm short on time. So basically, my concerns not addressed other than next time tell us ur short on time. The lack of accountability is why I give this place 3 stars. That and the woman, who was nice but spoke little English and hard to communicate with, packed my nail polish on so thick that even after 15 min of fan drying, any pressure on my nails would have caused a smudge.
