Viet (owner) gave me a citrus scrub and the aroma smells goodt with a T at the end because she is talented! Ends the pedicure with a lotion massage and hot towel. I loved this place! I had to get my nails done for a wedding, I showed up early to the salon and the owners were so kind to me. They offered me drinking water, and were so attentive throughout the whole service. They both took their time, one worked on my hands while the other worked on my feet. Like I said, high attention to detail and they took their time with me. I loved chatting with them while they worked, I could tell they were just two down to earth parents working hard for their family. I got gel mani and pedi and the total before tip was $75. The parking lot the shop is located in does charge for parking, I didn't want to pay so I found street parking which was easy to find. I decided to try out Moon's Nails and Spa. Emmy helped me and she was so detail oriented - from start to finish!! From continuing to warm the water for my pedicure (ensuring the water stayed hot); to testing out different colors. She was very meticulous with trimming and nails. I felt very cared for! Regular pedicure came with a nice leg/ foot scrub. Hot rocks, a lotion massage, and a hot towel to end. I'll be back next week for my gel manicure! read more

I went to this location for a fill on almond nails that I got done at a separate location. I went as a walk in on a sunday about an hour before close but there was no one there and the man who helped me was more than happy to get started. He was very kind and made conversation the entire time, asking about where I work and if I was a student. The french design he did was perfect and just as thin as I liked. He finished in about 45 minutes and I was very pleased with the results. After 2 weeks my nails were starting to lift quite a bit and I noticed that possibly the color of the acrylic powder he used was clear in comparison to the pink one I had on previously, so perhaps this made it lift quicker -- either way as time went on it began to look cheap and not cute because it was quite obvious the difference in colors and how it looked as it grew out. I went back to get the set remover which this fine was done by a woman (I'm assuming his wife). She was also kind and made slight conversation while she soaked off and filed my nails which I was surprised about but appreciated! I've only had nail technicians want to pop them off so this was a pleasant change. After leaving I did notice 2 nails still had acrylic on them so I filed it off myself. Overall my experiences here have been good but not great. I appreciated how friendly they were both times and their speed in getting me in and out. The husband is very sweet and accommodating. Honestly super disappointed with the service. Really wanted to give this place a chance with all the good reviews and crowd I see while driving by. Went in for grad nails just some simple coffin shaped white acrylics. The person who did my nails was really nice but did not do a good job. As someone with sensitive and weak nails who does not get acrylics often, I thought I shouldn't be surprised by a cut or two. But I have cuts on ALL my fingers. The nail tech noticed the fresh cuts appearing as she went from nail to nail and just giggled and apologized - but it kept happening. As a result I had redness and pain/stinging under water for 3-4 days after :( I thought it would be worth if it the nails turned out well, but that did not happen either. Some nails are filed crooked, others the powder/nail polish doesn't cover my full nail. I really think the drill and file were overused (shape) and not properly used (cuts). Maybe it was just my experience or my nail tech, but I don't think the service was worth the $50 :( read more

Figured I'd give this place a try since it had so many great reviews but in the end I was very unhappy with my experience. Both husband and wife were working and the salon was super slow so need to rush but it felt as though the husband was rushing. The gel nail polish came out very thick with bubbles making the surface of the nail not smooth. He was very rough and cut my fingers a few times. I had to ask him to clean the powder underneath my nails which made him annoyed. I'm only giving it two stars because the person that did my pedicure did a great job. But lets talk about the nails.. So I asked for my natural nail to be painted a french tip. There was an older woman there who I later learned was the owner of the store, who insisted that she put the acrylic on my nails instead. I allowed it to happen under the impression that she knew what she was doing.. and she didn't. The acrylic was super nubby and caked on. On multiple fingers I could see how the acrylic was not evenly applied to the nailbed, cracking towards the cuticles. Despite using the drillbit, they were not evenly shaped and the french tip design wasn't consisted at all. It was very clear that the person that did them didn't have the skills necessary to correct the issue. In the end, I went somewhere else for them to correct the mistake, however, that's not why I'm leaving this review. I called them the same day and informed them that the design wasn't great, and because of my plans I couldnt come back at the given time to consult them. I was told I'd be contacted again but then I was promptly ghosted. I had to get my nails fixed somewhere else. I called them 4 days later to catch up on the incident, and they told me to come into the store to discuss a refund. I met with the woman who did my nails, and she didn't want to see the pictures I took of her nail job at all. She was infact very short with me and said she'd give me $20 back so long as I never called or consulted them about my nails again. There wasn't really any accountability held when it came to the fact that she did a bad nail job. She was pissed with me that I had something to say about her work. I tried to be understanding of the pressure she was under, having to cater to many women the same day that she did my nails. I thought maybe it was just a matter of pressure, but I quickly realized after today that she was not open to recieving feedback. I wouldn't come here to get an acrylic set ever again. read more

I had a Gift Card my boss had given me. I finally had time to use it so I thought I'd treat myself and get a deluxe pedicure (rather than my regular basic gel pedicure). The place seemed clean, but nothing was remarkable about it. Time came to pay and I produced my Gift Cert and was ready to supplement any additional with cash. Instead, the pedicurist called the Owner over. She told me she was the new Owner, she had recently bought the place. Mind you it still had the same name that was on my Gift Certificate. She refused to honor the Gift Certificate. I was disappointed because I was now out a bit of cash that I wasn't expecting to spend, nor would I have splurged if I knew my Gift Certificate wouldn't be honored. If the new Owner had a business/customer service mindset, she would've honored the Gift Certificate AND secured a life long customer. I didn't even want to leave a tip at this point but I didn't want to punish the pedicurist for her bosses poor decision. So I left with a very unsatisfactory experience. Even disregarding the GC situation, nothing was great about my pedicure. None of the employees even attempted to make conversation or made me feel welcome. The pedicure was odd in the way that the color wasn't on my entire toe nail if that makes any sense. So I just dealt with it until I could go back to my regular spot in Woodland where at least I feel like they want my business and don't mind doing the leg massage, etc. read more

I've been here for a couple of pedicures, a full set, and three fills. Every time I come my appointment starts on time, everything is clean, and it's a great environment. I'm a nail biter so my fingers were pretty beat up, but my nail tech was really gentle with me! When she put my tips on, we realized that the particular clear nail/white tip design I wanted wouldn't look good with how short my natural nail was, and she helped me find something else that I loved just as much. I am not sure that I'll be back after my most recent visit. I don't know if I went in on an "off" day - but it wasn't the most pleasant experience. I needed the remainder of my dip nail polish removed from my left hand. I had already done my right hand on my own. The price ($10) was fair, but when the tech was removing the dip from my nails, she buffed my nails too low. It caused some bruising under my pinky nail. Also, normally, they'll brush off excess debris after filing and buffing the nails before applying the cuticle oil instead the cuticle oil was applied with all the nail debris on my fingers. I've been to this establishment a few times and it really depends on the technician you get. The skills amongst the technicians are clearly not the same. The technician I had today was rough with my feet( other reviews call them out on being too rough), rushed my pedicure, asked me what color I wanted without providing me the basket of different nail polishes, pushed the pricing list and basket of nail colors in my face while I had my computer on my lap, and did not paint the color neatly which is what I expect from this place. I hate that I had this experience especially with this not being my first time here and I've had better experiences. My advice is DONT BE A WALK IN and make an appointment with a tech you know/ like. Actually don't even bother coming to this place unless you want lumpy, messy, crooked, nails for $56. Im just glad I didn't leave bleeding (almost did) like others. read more

Four of us had pedi appointments for 10:00 made over a week in advance. We arrived just before 10:00 and were immediately greeted and seated. Then the disappointment began. Despite scheduling four pedis, there were only two staff actually available. Two of us sat waiting while the water got cold. I don't mind a chair massage and soak, but it took over 30 minutes (see screenshot of photo taken at 10:28) for someone to even come over and begin my pedicure. Maybe don't schedule customers if you're not going to be able to accommodate them? Eventually a third employee arrived and started assisting with our pedicures. My annoyance only increased when a customer came in and announced that one of her nails broke; one technician got up immediately to go help that customer. WTF. Horrible customer service. I absolutely loved my experience here. It was so fast too! My nail tech was super speedy when he removed my gel and I didn't have to wait longer than I needed to for him to start my new nails. His technical skills were exemplary and he didn't leave space between the end of my nail and my cuticle. I find that some places do this. My girl friends and I got a mix of manicures and pedicures and I think they were all happy with the results. I am excited to see the results of my next visit. This was scary. But I do feel partly responsible because I didn't say anything. I was too shocked & afraid to. I called to make a nail appt. & I asked if I could also get a pedicure after my finger nails were finished. He asked me to hold on and he began to speak in Vietnamese to the woman (I guess that is who Moon is?). He said if I could wait 1 hour to come in then they could accommodate me. I agreed & showed up 1 hour later. As he was finishing up w/my nails women started coming in asking if they could have their nails done. I was supposed to be next to get my feet done. Moon kept allowing these women to come in and in fact, she immediately began working on one of the women. He said something to her and he glared at her. Then when another woman tried to come in, he spoke up and said "No more...we have too many now." He told me to go sit in one of the pedicure chairs. I did & waited & waited. He kept speaking harshly in Vietnamese to her. She never came over to me to explain why she was 'blowing me off' after telling me she could give me a pedicure right after my nails were done. I said I would just return tomorrow. He said "NO! You will stay! I will do you!" Well i immediately felt uneasy about this. I've never seen a Vietnamese man do feet.....never. Well he was not happy about it....that was easy to see by the loud words (whatever they were) he shouted at her. Then he began with my feet. I knew i was in trouble when he grabbed my calf and pushed my leg into the water. Everything he did was super rough....especially when he began to trim my toe nails. OMG! He was scaring me. Then he began to file my heels. Finally I began to feel a sharp burning sensation and when he finished I realized he had cut me above my heel on the side where he shouldn't have even been filing. I was in total shock.I'm usually pretty good about standing up for myself but I didn't say a word. I can't explain why. I really think I was in shock. When I got home my friend looked at my foot and said "Teri you are injured. What on earth was he trying to do?" Well he did injure me and it wasn't pretty. He must have known he goofed up and hurt me. Funny thing is, they have both been so kind to me in the past. I don't know wheat was going on between those two. I'll never ever go there again.My feet did not look good. He clipped my nails too short. It took my foot over a week and a half to heal. It was a horrible experience. He was very angry and he shouldn't have been doing a pedicure when he was feeling such extreme anger and also because he doesn't ever do them. But he wanted the mightly dollar. Anyway, BEWARE! Thao is a perfectionist! For acrylics ask for her! She seriously was so nice and took her time perfecting every nail and checking and double checking. Seriously I felt like I was family or her best friend (and not just a random customer) with the way she was so methodical. She was so gentle and careful! I highly recommend!! I have seen other mixed reviews but it seems those might be explained by them rushing when busy (ie from walk-ins). If you are expecting perfection, call ahead and ask for Thao. Thats my advice!! This is my favorite nail place in Davis. They consistently do a great job and are really friendly. I love coming here and inviting friends to get their nails done there with me. Today my friend and I got gel pedicures and we got to sit on the massage chairs and relax as the ladies made our toes pretty and soft and gave us a nice leg massage. I went to moons nails last week and I got a gel mani and a regular pedicure. I wasn't too pleased with the service as my gel mani had a lot of bumps and unevenness that I only realized once I left the spa. I think this is due to them being short of staff and so they rushed me due to too many people coming in, even though I came first. I also wasn't too happy with the vibe they had a huge tv and it was constantly switching channels and just was kinda intense. It didn't have the relaxing spa element I was expecting. Unfortunately, my rating had to go down. This is my second time getting my nails done here, the first time being about a year ago. Me and some friends wanted to get our nails done during my visit and we chose this place because of the good reviews. We made an appointment for four people at 12 pm. It took 30 minutes for all of us to have our appointments started. Some were helped right away and some had to wait. We wanted to be finished at the same time, so it was disappointing. When I made the appointment, I told the lady that I had dip acrylics on (extra $10 to remove). The lady who helped me attempted to pop off my dip nails using an acrylic tip. This was very painful and I told her that it was hurting. I suggested that she file the nails because thats how my manicurist removes the dip powder from the nail. She tried to pop it off again and it wouldn't budge. So after damaging one of my nails, she opted to file. After that, the experience was better. Her polish skills were good and my gel manicure came out nice. I won't return because I do not like how they take care of the natural nail. read more
