Review for a men's hair cut, I was in need of a complete new style for me, something of a departure for myself from my usual hairstyle cuts. There is a wonderful talented woman who works there who sat me down and asked me...."What do you want?" When I mentioned the type of cut that I was looking for she smiled and said "No problem, I make you handsome!" and much to my surprise she did just that.... I received so many compliments from people at my work but the one that really got me was from a complete stranger at Costco who said they really liked my haircut. Very pleased with my $25 one color gel manicure today! I went during Sunday morning when it wasn't busy and had a great experience. This place is located in the save mart mall between Aggie Ace and Guadalajara. Parking is plentiful. DT nail salon has a Wide variety of nail color choices for gels and basic manicures. I was indecisive between three very different colors, (orange, blue, purple) so my stylist brought all three to the table to try them out. It was so nice. We had a great, authentic conversation too, it was so sweet. After deciding on purple, the color didn't work out ( it was too light and they tried moving it around but the consistency wasn't right). I chose blue and I'm very pleased with 2 coats! Check out the pics. There were only two workers and they rotated in between me. I was nervous at first but the staff was patient and considerate of me. I came here for a pink French tip and I swear the woman working there did not know what she was doing! Over the phone she had told me 35 and then when I came into confirm the price she switched it up to 40. When I told her what they quoted me on the phone she said "we'll discount you for today"? The French tip was super uneven. When she proceeded to put the pink clear coat for the French tip she dabbed it on beneath the French tip instead of painting a full coat? She also left nail polish on the side of my finger and when I proceeded to point it out she cleaned up only part of it with acetone and left the majority of it on! BEST salon place in Davis ever. I've been coming for three years now. I always walk-in and rarely ever have to wait. I think they give student discounts here too, which is always a plus. I come here frequently to get my eyebrows done and they always seem to do a perfect job. The woman with short hair and glasses is very gentle and takes her time to ensure you leave satisfied. My eyebrows are never too thin, and she gets the shape that I want. It's usually $12, but they charge me $10. My roommate got her nails done here and she was shocked by how cheap the price was. She was pleased with the end result, and said the staff was professional and pleasant. I've never had a mani or a pedi here, so I can't say. Now for hair, you have to know that I'm absolutely terrified of new people cutting my hair. I always get it layered and I have crazy long side bangs that cover my left eye (which I probably won't be changing for a while since I'm boring), and I'm always paranoid that someone is going to mess up on my bangs. I went in last week, and Harry did an amazing job! He layered my hair, and trimmed the ends to make my hair fall in a "v" shape, and did not screw up my bangs at all. And it was only $15! I'm totally coming back...even when I move to the bay. I swear, I wish they would set up shop there. Simply put, these people are awesome. You won't regret your experience there! read more

This place is good but not great. They're not bad at all, just nothing beyond average/mediocre. The staff is pretty friendly and accommodating. They have stayed way past closing for me several times, and I'm sure they do the same for others! The pedicures are pretty basic. They clean your cuticles, cut and file your nails, massage your feet and calves with oil and lotion and then pat you down with a warm cloth afterwards... Other places throw in the exfoliating scrub and hot rocks for the same price. I think there's only one lady who does acrylics, so she gets really busy and it puts everyone back a bit. Also, the gel job is a little weak... The last two times I went the polish was transparent, because I don't think she had me put my nails under the UV light long enough. But overall this place is okay. It's not my favorite in Davis, but they usually do a good job and they're at a convenient location for me (which is in the North Davis Savemart plaza). read more

After reading all these great Yelp reviews, I decided to go try this place myself and this place really is just okay. I showed the two ladies (don't know there names) there a picture of the ombré manicure I wanted. Both of the ladies worked on my nails and after an hour and a half (way too long for just a gel manicure), it came out like kindergarten art. There was no gradient to it, just a single base color and a glitter mess. I really did not want to spend another hour there so I did not ask the ladies to redo it. I left unhappy with my manicure and $25 less. If you're looking to get a very simple, single color manicure done, this place is fine. But if you're looking to get any designs or want to have Pinterest-pretty nails, I definitely would not recommend this place. read more

DT Nails is BY FAR the best nail salon I've ever been to -- and I'm admittedly a total nail snob. Milly and Le are both incredibly talented, and can free hand virtually any design you want (much more than just the typical flower that most salons offer). I get so many compliments on my nails it's ridiculous, and I always refer them to this treasured place. Milly and Le are both so sweet and friendly too, and when I messed up my toes by putting boots on (oops), I came back and they fixed it no problem. They also listen to every specific concern and request you have, which I have found many other salons to have a problem with. Walked in for the first time today and had a lovely experience. Such nice people; lovely environment; and great work - all for a great price! I pretty much spent the whole afternoon here today: gel mani, pedicure, and a haircut for a total of $65. That's unheard of. Nelson was so sweet to chat with while he was working on my gel pedicure, and Lee did a fantastic job with my pedi/leg massage. I used this time to catch up on some reading for school so everything about the last few hours was a win-win. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman who did my haircut, but I was happy with the outcome. I only needed a trim, layers and my bangs cut and came out with a, thankfully, lighter head of hair (my hair is thicker than a lion's mane). The haircut was very no frills; no wash/dry/styling. I just needed a trim though and planned on going to the gym after so it didn't really matter that much to me. I wouldn't come here for a dramatic haircut change though; I don't think they have the equipment for that. I'll be coming back as a regular! read more

This salon is conveniently located five min away from my apartment, so it's my designated nail place. The people who have done my nails so far have been very gentle, which I highly appreciate! The pricing is not too bad -- $35 for a shellac pedicure or manicure. Also, the ambience is cute. I haven't explored other nail salons in Davis, so I don't know how this one might compare to others, but I would recommend it to people living in North Davis. read more

My group of five friends went in before graduation, and they were consistent on the quality of poor work on each of us. They didn't clean my friends cuticles and when she asked them to, one of them told her it would take "weeks." Worst service we have ever received, nails weren't even painted in the lines. I loved this place! The girl did such an amazing job with my pedicure, and it was only $20!! It was so awesome, I gave a five dollar tip!! The message was good and the massage chairs are really nice! The very nice girl did an excellent job trimming, cleaning, and scrubbing my feet. They don't have the best selection of polish. They had plenty of gel/shellac, but I prefer regular polish. I'd probably bring my own color next time. Other than that, this was the best nail experience I've had in Davis and it's an awesome price for awesome service! Despite this place is owned by my friend's parents, I went in with minimal expectations because of some of the mixed reviews. However, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and give it a try. I was very pleased. My best friend and I make a point to meet up once a month to get mani/pedis together. We decided to try this place last month and it was great! The massage chairs were wonderful, the staff was friendly and the ambiance was relaxing. I was pleased with my regular pedicure the first time (it lasted at least 2 weeks). The second time, I went in with the upgraded pedicure, which came with probably the best feeling foot and leg massage ever. It's been another 2 weeks and the pedicure is still in tact! My friend got a gel manicure and it's still in tact too! :) The owners knew I was relatively new their store, so they threw in a complimentary "flower" design ($5 regularly) on my pedicure. It was a pleasant experience and wonderful customer service! I got my eyebrow waxed from here too a few days ago. I'm pretty pleased with the job they did. She made sure I was completely comfortable and talked me through the process as she was waxing my eyebrows. (I had never gotten my eyebrows waxed before). DT has a great location for me. It's easy to park at too. The owners are friendly and accommodating. I did stop getting my gel manicures there because on good days they came out average, and on bad days the shape and longevity of the polish was poor. Recently I decided to go for a pedicure for convenience sake, and because of their inconsistent outcomes, I am sorry I did. Just the overall job, of cutting (too short), shaping and polishing was unsatisfactory. I tip very well, at around 20-25%, so I expect decent service. read more

Honestly, I've been a loyal customer of theirs since 2010, mainly because of Nelson (and before he started working there, a girl named Nancy.) Nelson always did an amazing job with everything - from the basic mani/pedi, to pink and white, to nail designs I brought in that he would try to duplicate. If there were bubbles or imperfections, he was quick to apologize and fix it or even re-do my nails. Even though I work in Fremont now, I wanted to get my nails done here before Vegas just because its really become a habit. I was sad to hear from the owner that Nelson no longer works here. I decided to go with one of the other girls who has worked there awhile...but in the end, the quality really just isn't the same. I've come here 2-3 times since Nelson stopped working here, but I think I will have to find another nail place. I came here last weekend to get a pink and white done, but was told to come back on another day because none of the girls there knew how to do it... I guess it's time to move on and find another nail salon! Hopefully I find someone as detail-oriented as Nelson. read more

Management changed. My old manicurist Nelson is gone. Last time I went, I wanted a gel manicure in a solid color. A new girl was doing my nails and the owner was instructing her on what to do, step by step. It was taking forever. Not once did they as me if it was okay to be a test mule. As they were setting it, it began to wrinkle...... So they redid it, and it continued to do the same thing. So they removed it and I left because I had already spent an hour and a half there and I had class. I don't think they have enough training to be doing gel manicures. read more

This place was great! 3 of us got in quickly for Pedi's and mani's. The décor is really cute and modern, they are sanitary (I know because I am a cosmetologist) and they even gave us a glass of wine. It was so cute! The music that was playing was music that would put me to sleep (sounded like xmas music still) so one of the employees asked what I wanted to listen to and changed it for me. We seemed to be high maintenance but they listened to what we wanted and were very accommodating! It was excellent service. =] My pedi and mani look great still--I got the gel on my hands and regular on my feet. Can't beat their prices too!
