I will say I tried to go on Saturday with an appointment but was told there were two people ahead of me once I got there. So appointments on busy days like the weekend really are not effective. Not a problem with staff, but seems to be a store policy to accept walk-ins, even if there are appointments booked. I ended up canceling on Saturday and came back today to give it a second try and was very happy with the timing. Bad cuts, long waits, high price. Pretty much recipe for a bad barber. First time I went, I waited 40 minutes and was told when I checked in that it would take "a few minutes." There were 3 barbers cutting hair and they were all taking a very long time. A gal who arrived after I checked in, who was also a walk in, was arbitrarily helped before me. I asked the barber when she was finished why she cut her hair before me. Both the barber and the assistant tried saying she had an appointment, but I heard her tell them she was a walk in. Then the assistant tried saying "their systems were down." Nice. Only redeeming part of the visit (haircut was acceptable, I asked for a very simple 2 around the sides and back and 3 on top) was she took off a couple bucks for the misunderstanding. Ok, I thought, I'm willing to give them a chance. Next visit, same situation. 3 barbers and a 40 minute wait with maybe 2 people ahead of me. Then I ask to get my haircut and it was very uneven, and the gal was more than happy to do less than what was necessary, all for the cool price of $28. I have been going to Christine for nearly 20 years. I won't let anyone else touch my hair. Today I did go back for a redo only because I felt that the back was too long and everything else was great. The policy is that you can go back for a redo within seven days. I am aware of this, however yesterday I wasn't feeling well and was unable to come in. This made the eighth day. I spoke to the young man at the counter. Explain the situation and he said oh it'll probably be fine. Then I saw Christine and she said oh it's fine. It's a redo and she told, the guy at the counter that. Then when I was leaving, I was stop saying I had to pay and Christine said it's a redo. The manager came out and was extremely aggressive. I wish I had gotten her name and also the name of the guy at the counter because he then lied and said that he didn't say it would be OK. Even though Christine said it would be OK. I feel really bad for Christine. She's the best. The guy at the counter and the Manager- you are horrible people. I didn't end up having to pay. But that manager is really really rude. read more

I'm always hesitant to go to commercial barber shops since you never know what to expect but if you are specific with what you ask for it usually turns out well. I didn't have to wait too long on a Saturday but you should probably schedule an appointment to save time. Came here for a undercut 0 fade and thought the results were solid. I thought Supercuts was a drop in type place. It is if you don't mind waiting for over an hour before a chair is available. If time is valuable to you, call ahead and make an appointment. Time was the reason I considered Supecuts, time had gotten away from me and I really needed a haircut and my regular salon wasn't open when I had time so I gave Supercuts a try. On the plus side I got the fastest haircut I think I've ever had. Friends noticed "Oh, you got your hair cut" (instead of "Oh, your hair is really cute") For the price savings and time savings I had a decent experience at Supercuts and my hair will grow out with time. read more

Crystal was my stylist this time and she really made my hair elegant and defined with curls. They also made really great strides with adhering to covid guidelines. I've been here 3-4 times the past year and have had a great experience every time! As a girl with long hair, naturally haircuts can be nerve-racking due to fear of getting all our hair chopped off. The stylists always listen to how much I want trimmed and never trim extra without telling me. I have had friends with long hair who have had stylists trim off much more than they asked without telling them, because "they needed it" but so far that has not happened here! I have had a different stylist each time and each have done a great job. I have had stylists cut my hair dry and others who use the spray bottle, but both ways it has turned out great. This last time, the stylist used a leave in conditioner that say Olive Oil on the bottle and it smells amazing. She said my hair is dry and the spray will help with the dryness as well as detangle it. Only $12.99 so I picked up a bottle. I have walked in every time without an appointment but have never waited more than 5-10 mins. I'm sure that depends on the time of day though so wouldn't hurt to call ahead. If you're just looking for a trim without spending too much, even if you have long hair, definitely recommend. :) read more

At least in my personal experience with the Supercuts in Davis, it's a pretty average hair salon/barber shop. It doesn't feel like an incredibly unique or amazing experience, but you get what you ask for, usually. The stylists here are pretty nice and are pretty easy to have a conversation with, although I'm more of a guy who just sits back and relaxes during my haircuts. I'd say that my favorite stylist here is Mani because I don't have any complaints when I get my cut from her, but for the most part, a majority of their stylists have a good deal of experience under their belt. All in all, I don't really have anything special to say about this place other than it gets pretty backed up on the weekends. Be sure to call ahead to put yourself on the waitlist and save yourself time. read more

Jess is the best!!! After nearly 3 yrs as a client of the Supercuts on Covell in Davis, I cannot say enough about colorist & stylist, Jess! I have worked with her exclusively for two years. When I go to her, I feel like her attention is focused on me and she does an amazing color and cut. How do I know I am getting great results with her work? Not a week goes by that I don't receive a compliment or two! For years I donned bangs and layers...then Jess suggested our goal be a chin length, A-line with a base color-dark brown,a blonde and 5CM highlights. We are now there and I feel younger every time I go there-a solid 5 week schedule. I also listen to her product recommendations as she really guides you to the products that are great for your hair,(the olive oil leave-in is amazing.) Jess is also very good with understanding her different clients...from children to older folks and all in between. Jess is what makes my Supercuts experience so great! If her boss is reading this, I hope you keep her around for a long time! read more

I don't know her name, but it was an Asian woman who cut my hair. After briefly explaining what I was hoping to get, she quickly started prepping my hair after not asking for any clarification. I suppose you get what you pay for at a chain hair salon, since it very much felt rushed as the stylist saw that her other clients had walked in. It seemed she didn't pay much attention to whether or not the cut complemented my face shape or how the end result would turn out overall. Thus I was left with a bad haircut/bob with choppy layers. I recommend going elsewhere and paying more for quality cut with stylists who care, or make an appointment with another stylist, Christine. read more

If I could give this place a 0, I would. We asked for a fade, not a choppy haircut done in less than 7 minutes. It was even so bad that her own coworker said something to her and pointed to her to fix it but she ignored the suggestion. The side is uneven, it's choppy, anyone else with no experience could have done a better job. Would rather have her not mess it up any more than she already has so didn't even bother having her fix anything else.
