She made sure to listen to what I wanted because I was rly trying to restore my nails. I LOVE this place! I moved to Babylon recently, and was looking for a place nearby for fills and pedicures. Not only is SHI SHI careful, but my nails look fantastic. No lifting, chipping, etc. I only got the basic pedicure, but that was great and there are many options available. Pricing for both my fills and the pedicure was terrific, and a few dollars less than where I used to go in Deer Park. The nail designs they offer are incredible too! And also affordable! My wife had high hopes for this place but ended up very disappointed. I got acrylic tips on a Saturday, and because they were applied pretty far from my cuticle, by Monday the nails looked very grown out (see picture). A number of people told me my nails looked poorly done and unprofessional, and when I called on Tuesday and explained the issue to the manager I was scheduled to come in Wednesday afternoon. When I came in, I was told my nails could be fixed and that they would do a fill in. After calling her boss, who was not in the store, the girl who did my nails informed me that I would need to pay for a complete fill in, despite the fact that I had paid for a full new set 4 days prior. No one should need a fill in that quickly, my nails were not done properly to start with. Apparently the only thing that is complimentary here is a color change, but this place won't take responsibility for their own mistakes or even offer a discount for the inconvenience. Would have remained a customer if someone was willing to compromise or recognize that the fault was not my own. I will not be returning. read more

Okay so I don't think I've ever written a review before but I feel as though I have to. This place is AMAZING. First of all they were so booked up even for the upcoming week (which is a good sign!). I have a crazy schedule and share a car with my husband so I kept having to call them back and ask if they had certain times or days available. I must've called them at least 4 times and the guy didn't get annoyed with me once lol. Anyways I got my fill in on August 31st and they came out great and the service was wonderful! Normally every place I go to after a few days and definitely after having a fill in for a week my real nail underneath starts to show. These nails lasted so long before that happened I couldn't believe it. They basically looked as thought I just got a fill in even after a week and a half. Afterwards I was really tight with money and didn't have the time either to make my next appt for another fill in. So I basically was just waiting for the nails to start falling off so that I didn't have to spend the money for a fill in. They WOULD NOT budge at all! They weren't even starting to lift up at the end towards the cuticle which would normally happen after a couple weeks! I eventually got a fill in last week on Wednesday which was October 10th! So these nails lasted me almost 6 WEEKS and none of them fell off AT ALL! Obviously they didn't look flawless towards the end of those 6 weeks and I was definitely wayyy overdue for a fill in but the fact that they stayed on for that long amazed me!!! 5 stars!!!! read more

This place is pretty good. Since moving back to LI from brooklyn, I couldn't get my nails done. My childhood salon closed down and my neighborhood isn't exactly known for acrylics. I made the choice to come based on pictures of Shi Shi"s work. I made the right decision. My nails so far are how I like them - narrow, skate edged and very thin. The only issue I had was my most recent appointment, that I made on a Monday, was not written down. It's a 30 minute drive here so to hear my appt was given to someone because the leader forgot to write it down is disappointing and I had to get my nails done by someone else. I would have given them 5 stars had thks snafu not occurred. I will update this based on the quality of my nails from this different technician. read more

Was visiting a friend for the weekend and decided at the last minute we wanted to get gel mani's. I decided to check this establishment out since the yelp reviews appeared decent. Never tried the gel powder ( which is suppose to last 3 weeks) so I decided to give it a try. The technician applied the gel so thick that my polish cracked and chipped after 10 days. I went to G Nails yesterday and had a set of Silk Wrap Tips put on by Shi Shi (spelling?)! The results are gorgeous and I was very pleased with the attention to detail that she gave me during my session. The price was very reasonable too ($50 for a full set) and I had no qualm about giving a very generous tip. I had acryllics in the past but they completely destroyed my nails. After much research I found that silk wrap tips would be the best option and offer the least damage to my natural nails. I found G Nails based on the great reviews on Yelp and I really was not dissappointed. My appointment was for 5:30 but they let me come in earlier without any fuss. I arrived at 4:30 and my nails were finished a little after 6pm. I felt I was getting all the attention to detail that I deserved. I have been on the hunt for a great nail place since I have moved to Suffolk County... For all of you out there who appreciate a great massage after a manicure this may not be the best place for you. However their selections of gel colors and designs beat out any place I have ever seen. They are also a bit more costly than most but seem to be relatively competitive for the area. They expect you to tip them over 30%... 20% isn't enough for them. If you do not tip 30% and they remember they now tell you you are no longer welcomed back. They have a very poor business practice.
