Went in for a clogged catalytic converter. The customer service at Future was fantastic. Excellent communication and Tiko was able to expedite the parts I needed. The original estimate was extremely high, which scared me, but after discussing all the alternatives and discounts, we were able to get the repair into a more affordable range. I have gone to this place for two oil changes and some maintenance after receiving referrals from others on Next Door. Rafo and Carlos have consistently provided excellent customer service. They never fast-talk or rush me. Carlos walked me through the process to contact my car warranty company so they would cover the cost of a replaced engine mount. He went the extra mile to help and the issue was resolved asap. Rafo has taken care of overseeing my oil changes. Always quick and courteous. My car blew up, yes, you read that right. Of course it was a weekend and my normal mechanic was closed. After a truly horrific experience with the tow truck driver who left me in the middle of the valley with my dog in high temperatures, I walked to a local coffee shop to wait for someone to get us so we wouldn't be hurt in the heat. I got a phone call from Future Auto and expected the worst, however, they were able to diagnose the problem and fix my car within 48 hours. They were empathetic to my situation and were kind and listened when I was panicking over having no where to go with the dog since the tow truck would not allow her to ride with me. When I picked up the car, the front office was able to assure me there was nothing I could do to prevent the situation and gave me a break as much as they could. Chalard's auto repair is the best! On my way to work, I got a call from home that my car had leaked fluid all over the driveway. I was told my car was not safe to drive since we didn't know if it was brake fluid or power steering or oil so I had to take it to a mechanic ASAP. I found Chalards on yelp with great reviews, so I called. He doesn't take walk ins, but since I called in the morning before 8am and explained that it was a bit of an emergency, he said I could bring my car in if I was able to leave it all day. I did that and decided to just pick it up after work. Well it turns out that my oil filter was cracked and was spilling oil all over the place. I had just gotten my oil changed at Jiffy Lube the week before so I was confused. Turns out the idiots at jiffy lube screwed the oil filter back on with a wrench instead of by hand, cracking the filter in the process. Because of their incompetence, I lost over half the oil in my car. If I hadn't taken my car in that morning, the lack of oil could have killed the engine in my car. Chalards was very straight to the point and wasn't trying to trick me or overcharge - he replaced the filter and refilled my oil for just $20! He is seriously amazing and I will always take my car here from now on. Moral of the story - Chalards is the BEST place to go (just call ahead first) and NEVER GO TO JIFFY LUBE EVER AGAIN... I wish the rating system went up to 20 stars for Future Auto Service. Every business, especially the bigger dealerships and repair centers, could learn a few things from these guys. We bought a car from Carvana and about 4 weeks into having it we had MAJOR issues. Carvana's warranty company, SilverRock (our dislike of them aside) had Future Auto on their list of preferred repair places. While SilverRock is a tremendous corporate pain in the ass to deal with, we were very fortunate that they introduced us to FAS, where our rep Andre has, through every step of the way, provided us with a calming and comforting demeanor that I have never received from any mechanic. When the warranty company had us pull our car from them to bring to a dealership for a cheaper solution to the diagnosis, we received calls from the new dealership that there were all kinds of new issues on with the car. Andre was amazing enough to stop whatever he was doing to jump on a conference call with me and the guy at the dealership and go to bat for us and call them out on their BS, horrible ethics and lack of experience. We haven't even gotten our car back yet, but I can already tell you that Andre and the rest of Arthur's team over at Future Auto Service have ensured that we will never bring either of our cars to any other place for service. So my battery/alternator warning light was one and scheduled to make an appointment the following Monday. On my way to the shop, my car battery died just a mile out. Triple A was going to take around 2 hrs just to get out there. Luckily Aaron and one of his coworkers (sorry I didn't catch your name man), decided to drive out and install a temporary battery and offered to drive me back to the shop as I was shaken up. I needed to bring my Honda Civic hybrid in for an oil change and to check my front left tire because it continuously loses air. I had just gotten off work so I decided to just wait while they did their thing. The price was beyond fair, considering my hybrid has to use synthetic oil (which is more expensive), and I waited less than an hour. Their waiting room is very nice and comfortable as well. What a great experience. I live in Sherman Oaks, but I work in Burbank. I'd already had a good experience here before, so I decided to wait to get this stuff fixed until I was in Burbank again with time to waste. No regrets. The catalytic converter was stolen out of my '08 Prius twice in one month, and Future Auto Service had it fixed quickly each time, and even ordered and installed a Cat Shield for me the second time to avoid a third incident. Ok, real talk. I was hesitant to come to Future for the first time in 2016 when the old owner Chalard was gone. I went to him for 7 years and he was as honest, hardworking and one of the best mechanics in all of LA- EVER! I read some reviews about the new owners and were not impressed, but I wanted to find out for myself and I'M SO GLAD I WENT AND DID NOT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS! Everyone can't be happy so you have to go for yourself. They fixed my EGR valve I needed to be installed on my older 2000 Suzuki (a car for which doesn't really exist anymore) and they fixed it to the point where my old car ran like brand new. This was all on Christmas Eve of 2016. Fast Forward to now in 2017, I had some other problems to fix and Rafo was always available to help and to fix what I needed. This time I had to leave my car overnight (for which I NEVER DO), but I did this time and once again, Rafo and his mechanics fixed the problems with my car just in time for me to go to work later that morning. I couldn't believe how incredibly fast they worked and how incredibly easy it was to come back and pick it up. The pricing was the best after calling around to eight different places. Fast Forward again to July 5th, I came back because it's a car, things happen no matter how well you keep it up and fix it. This time, my car was locked in PARK and would not shift out due to a security feature I never knew about my car in all these years. Then my electrical went out and I had no blinkers, no AC and some other problems, all of this happened on my birthday just two days before I brought it in. I was able to jimmy the emergency lever release feature to get to Future Auto that morning and Rafo greets me with a smile same as usual. I was in and out in 30 minutes. A blown fuse was the culprit and he fixed it with ease. I have been more then doubly blessed to follow my instincts and give them a try and I am so glad I did. At first I left a positive review but the next day I drove out of town to Newport Beach and my car started wobbling. I went to Just Tires to find out the problem and they told me that my tires were over filled. Future auto service put 45 pounds in ea tire when they were supposed to only have 30. One of the tires is completely ruined because it caused irreversible damage. I'm going to have to replace the tire. When I called Future Auto Service, Rafo completely denied he did that and refused to help me out at all. You would think he would offer to at least refund the oil change which is the reason I went there in the first place. Instead he just kept denying he overfilled them. They were the only people that even touched my tires so it was definitely them. He was not friendly, sorry or accommodating at all.
