I eat fusian @ least twice a week ... it'has always been great. Especially the hard working staff (Kenwood location ) !!! This past week ( Jan 28th,2019 ) the Chicken has been horrible. This Monday and Wednesday. They seem to be using ALL the parts of the chicken. The dark meat has been hard and unedible. I wish they would change back to the way the chicken was last year (more white meat ) but I'm sure Food Cost takes it's toll. Very disappointing :((( read more

I like Fusian, simply for the fact that its quick, simple and fresh. If you are concerned about calories or what is in your sushi you can look the menu you up online and it will show you how much is in each roll or you can even check it on myfitnesspal, a lot of people have already uploaded it there. It's pretty healthy if you choose brown rice, seweed, protein and veggies, Your really can't go wrong. I love how you watch the food being made and you choose how you want it. My only complaint about Fusian is that they are still working out a few kinks in the expedience of building your sushi rolls, but I have noticed this at every new Chipotle or Piada restaurant I have been to, which have a similar structure to Fusian. They are training people and that's understandable. So, now that my only complaint is out of the way, here's the rave: this is a really smart place. It seems that the people who started this chain truly care about a high quality product at a reasonable price. I was wary about getting sushi in the "pick your ingredients" format of restaurants such as Fusian, mainly because I didn't know how long the fish would have been sitting out. But, nothing to worry about folks, it is fresh and delicious. Quick breakdown of the ordering process: choose soy or seaweed wrap ... choose brown or white rice (which then gets cranked out of an awesome wrap + rice machine) ... Choose protein (among the choices are tofu, crab stick, salmon, and CHICKEN?!) ... choose veggies ... choose toppings ... and then your sushi roll is put into a machine similar to a paper cutter that cuts your roll into 10 (not 8!) pieces. I love the fact that you get 10 pieces; it's really the perfect amount of sushi. There are a couple of sides to choose from, and some really yummy drinks, too! My favorite was the gingerade. I also have to note the PB&J roll. My coworker and I ordered this to try and, being the peanut butter fanatic I am, didn't have any doubt that it would be good. And it was. Soy wrap + white rice + peanut butter + jelly. Would be a good way to get your kids started feeling comfortable with sushi! Oh, and soundtrack = awesome. A lot of alternative stuff playing, and they write what is on the playlist on their chalkboard walls/pillars. Pretty cool, and makes for a welcoming atmosphere. Give this place a shot. Even if you aren't a huge sushi fan, I think you will enjoy yourself. Another reason to try it out? It's a small chain (as of right now) based out of Ohio, and part of their philosophy is, "We believe you should know what you're eating. You should see it, and feel good about it. That's why we use simple, natural, and (when at all possible) local ingredients." I may just end up going here more often than Chipotle. read more

Great place for a quick, simple, cheap bite to eat! You're not going to get gourmet sushi here, but you'll get a delicious and fresh simple roll catered to your favorite ingredients picked by yours truly, yourself. So combine everything you enjoy into one roll. I must warn you, if you're anything like me and love vegetables, you'll end up with a humongous roll which will be almost impossible to eat without stuffing your face :). My favorite combo is seaweed wrap with white rice, tuna, green onion, asparagus, carrots, cucumber, avocado and cream cheese (of course) topped with spicy mayo, sweet soy and a ton of tempera flakes (all for $7.50). I wasn't kidding, worlds largest sushi roll! I love the vibe of the restaurant itself, it's modern, sleek and environmentally conscious!!! Never seems to be too crowded and the line has never been out of control in my opinion, fast and friendly service! read more

This is more of a novelty idea designed for folks who like to customize their food (a la Chipotle style). Quality of sushi was just ok, food menu is limited, and you're really paying for the ambiance/hipster environment complete with compostable cups. I am shocked that this concept has not gotten to NYC yet. I would describe it as Chipotle for sushi. The ingredients are very fresh. You can completely customize your roll and its a casual setting. You choose white or brown rice, seaweed or soy, and regular or inside out roll. Then they take you through proteins, veggies, and toppings, then they run in through a cutting machine. The food was delicious, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I found that one roll and a miso soup filled me up. I think for most people 2 rolls would be too much. It was about $10 for my roll because I added some toppings, but again - it filled me up so it was worth the money. Okay....I can get into this concept! Quick service, custom sushi rolls. Is it the best sushi you are ever going to eat? No. Is it a good lunch option if you are looking to get away from all of the other stale lunch options around Kenwood? Yes! A variety of protein, wrap, vegetable, and sauce options so you can get creative with your sushi (think Chipotle setup). Service was friendly (they took time to explain how it works) and sushi assembly was quick - not like some of the other QSR places that take longer to wait in line and prep your food than it takes to actually eat it. I went with the tempura shrimp, seaweed wrap, cream cheese, veggies, and topped with chile sauce. The wrap was a bit chewier than normal but overall the roll was good for what it was. Many have hit it right on the head when they have compared Fusian to Chipotle. The fact is the sushi was good, made to order and you get it fast (like Chipotle). I love Chipotle's burritos but they are not the best burritos I've ever had and Fusians sushi is good but it doesn't knock your socks off as a must have, although it DOES satisy. They keep the healthy selection going with the salads, brewed teas, and drinks and I highly recommend the "Gingerade" which was refreshing and delicious. The selection at the food line is somewhat limited but they will accomodate and cut meats fresh if you don't care for them to be marinated as they are prepared. All in all, we will go back because they are friendly, very affordable and as far as I know the only type of restaurant in this area that offer a convenient place to grab a custom made sushi roll to go. We give it three stars not because they have done anything wrong, but because after all they are a "fast food" restaurant just not your typical one with a drive through. I would definitely recommend this place to all sushi lovers, just not sushi snobs. You WILL enjoy yourself in a clean, decorative, climate controlled atmosphere that cares enough to recycle. read more

I am not a sushi lover and have a gluten allergy, but Fusian was always a place I could have a great meal. Yesterday, my experience was so bad, though, I'll never go back! We ordered online and paid, pick up was set for 1250pm. We drove over and my daughter went to pick it up. I sat for 15 minutes watching people go in one after another. Finally, went in found her sitting, waiting. I asked the person she said was making our food and he said not ready and pointed to bags along the wall and said 5 minutes. He then checked a few people out,went to back table for a few minutes, came back with another persons in house order and then went back. We waited a total of 25 min for a call in and already paid, while everyone that I saw just walk in as I was sitting there in the car earlier was ALREADY taken care of. There were at least 4 employees on the line and that 1 guy in back. I told him that I had watched all those people walk in15 min after my order was called in and still not any food. He pointed to the empty bags on the wall again without so much as an apology. I can't believe I even had to pay for this! I understand mistakes, but when faced with a huge error on part of the restaurant, we got not so much as a hint of caring or empathy. Am so disgusted by the whole ordeal, enough to still be upset the next day and take time to review and I will never return!! read more

It was a week ago but I haven't have time to sit down for a review. But just have to for such a great service. I just got off work and want some sushi but didn't want to go to a real sit down restaurant so I decided to go to Fusian. I was quite late, 20min before closing. However, the staff still giving great service. Still warm welcome, nicely asking what I need. I had special request due to allergies so they have to pulled stuff out from the back and hand cut my rolls. I apologized for being late and the staff was very understanding as keep telling me it ok. I appreciate the great service. One more thing, they didn't follow me to the door to lock it (someplace does, or lock it then they have to follow you out to unlock then lock it again. I was sent off with nice goodbyes and the staff lock the door slowly after I walk away from the door. Would love the store manager praising the staff for giving out such great services. I read more

Fusian is fine for quick to go sushi. They usually give you double meat for free, which is nice! The seaweed can be a bit chewy and they usually use a lotttt of rice. It is good if you are craving sushi on your way home from work. It is still pretty new so I assume they will work out some of the kinks as they go. read more

It's like subway or Chipotle jn that you go down the line and choose the I gredients for your sushi roll. I had salmon with avocado, cucumber, and asparagus. Fusion offers sushi in an assembly line where the customer can pick out their own toppings and innings as the roll is being made. It's assembly line sushi, so how good could it be, right? Actually, their rolls are quite fresh and delicious! They have soy wrap options for those who don't like nori (seaweed) and a peanut butter and jelly roll for the kids. Fusion offers sushi roll just as delicious but just less pretentious as the high end sushi bars. read more
