I just walked in for a plain slice, to my surprise the owner Stanley selfishly raised the price of a plain slice to $3.50!!! Not even in Manhattan where the rent is quadruple of what Full Moon pays for there space is a slice of pizza $3.50. As I understand it, all other pizza type plates went up in price as well. One employee said the price Increase was due to the drastic increase price of cheese. I don't believe this whatsoever. Arthur Ave alone has about 3 other pizzerias right on its strip, none of those guys have increased their prices. Must be one helluva cheese. Fact: Full Moon has always been the first pizzeria in the neighborhood to raise their prices before anyone else. Get this.. back around 2013, Full Moon was the first business as a whole that I can think of who raised their 12oz cans of soda to $1.25 each... Because you know, $1 a can isn't reasonable enough in 2013. I didn't check but it wouldn't surprise me if the can was also jacked to $1.50 or better. So now we have a .50cent price increase on a $3.00 slice.. Stanley if you're reading this.. you're a selfish business man causing pizza inflation just to deepen your pockets. My family and I aren't returning to Full Moon pizzeria, ever. Fortunately for us, we live in a great city where there's something called choices! Not only do they have delicious pizza, with thin crispy crust and lot's of fresh toppings and calzones packed with fresh greens, they are incredibly nice and generous. My son and I drove up to the Bronx from downtown Manhattan to explore your lovely parks and food. After a long walk we found Full Moon and ordered up a storm. I reached in my backpack for my wallet to pay, and discovered I had left it at home. We turned to leave with big apologize and the staff made us come back and eat our pizza on the house. Hi I really was so anxious to try a nice and hot delicious slice of there Wonderful pizza. By my surprise when I got.the slice home.i notice something before taking a bite out of it that the slice was kind of shiny. This Pizza joint in the Little Italy section of the Bronx is really really good stuff. The are on the corner of 187 street and the place has a steady flow of customers. I discovered them a few years ago at one of the Italian festivals over there. The ingredients are Fresh and Top Grade. Anytime I'm up around the area I definetly stop here for a Slice or two!!! I've been to Full Moon a few times, always a great experience. The prices are on the higher side for a slice of pizza, but it's definitely worth it for the taste you get! I've only ordered a normal cheese slice or pepperoni slice, nothing else. The pepperoni slice is definitely the better of the two, the dough used has the right flavor and perfect crunch to the bite. A lot of my friends seem to like Full Moon, but I think it's overrated and overpriced. The pizza is decent, but it's the most expensive pizza place on Arthur Avenue; expect to spend $4 or more for a specialty slice. There is a HEAVY emphasis on Sicilian pizza, to the point that it can be difficult to get a slice of a normal pie in anything other than a really basic type like cheese or pepperoni. I generally don't like Sicilian pizza, so this is a big turn-off for me. If you're on Arthur Ave looking to get some good Italian food, you can do MUCH better than Full Moon, and cheaper, too. If you want pizza, check out Ivana's (across the street, apparently not on Yelp yet) or University (Fordham Rd. between Hoffman and Arthur). If you're willing to branch out, check out one of the delis and grab a sandwich (Casa Della Mozzarella and Tino's come to mind). Full Moon isn't bad, but there's really no reason to go here when there are so many better places nearby. read more

Yes, the hype about this place is ALL TRUE. Bring your appetite because the slices are bigger than a 12" paper plate! All I got was a plain cheese slice and WOW.....crust, cheese and sauce...all AMAZING. I'm betting their other toppings don't disappoint, either. Next time I'm going to have to try the sicilian, because it also looked phenomenal. Plus, the neighborhood is completely old school and adorable...we had so much fun eating our slices by the big windows and watching all the people. I love this place!! I been coming here for the past 18 yrs. Now, I bring my kids to enjoy the best pizza on earth - consistenty good!!!! There sauce is so yummy. The siciian is very good also. Prepared in a traditional pizza dough that is prepared and risen properly, the owner takes the time to prepare a dough and sauce that surpasses the typical pizza joint. I have never been disappointed even after returning numerous times over several years.... The workers don't mess around, and like what they do! I can't think of a time where I went there and had a less than perfect slice. Although it's typical NY pizza, it's always timed to perfection and never ever burnt. Awesome plain slice, one of the best I've had. I tried the buffalo chicken slice and that was disappointing. The arancini were massive, but lacking flavor. Parking is a pain, but worth it for that plain slice alone. Place is also tight on seating, maybe seating for 30-40 total, and seems to be packed pretty regularly. read more

Oh, full moon. You are our favorite. It's a very rare treat to go to Arthur Avenue these days, but when we do, a stop at full moon never disappoints. Cracker crisp crust with the nice and subtle cornmeal/semolina dusting on the bottom. Great sauce, great sausage. I love it - the perfect New York slice. The pizza here is an above average NY slice, which makes it better than probably 99% of the pizzerias in the country, but not exceptional for NYC. Given that the Bronx, even Arthur Avenue, does not have the same array of elite pizzerias as Manhattan and Brooklyn, this isn't a critical flaw. For a slice, this place is probably one of the better options in the Bronx. Although I don't like the cornmeal that is always on the bottom of the slices here. That said, if you're serious about pizza I would recommend heading roughly across the street, where you will find Zero Otto Nove, a very good Neapolitan pizzeria owned by the same guys who run Robertos. It's not the best in the city by any means, but a very good Neapolitan pie, and they use the fresh mozz from Casa Della which is the best around. Favorite thing here: Not the pizza, but the calzones. I know plenty of great pizzerias in NYC and even elsewhere, but a good calzone like the one they make here can be tough to find. read more

my son came to this restaurant in march of this year, i wanted to try their pizzas because i had covid and i got tired of eating chicken noodle soup for 1 week, so my son brought the pizzas, and i saw he brought back two medium size pizzas, i wanted small pizzas, he told they are small size pizza pies, so i tried it and even though my taste buds were coming back, the pizza was bland and could hardly taste the pizza sauce, had them as left overs and still the pizza was bland. they ok, but not going to tell my son to back there. read more

Walked by , saw the outdoor cafe. Decided to get a eggplant parm hero and a chicken parm hero to go. I will start by saying that the wait was about 15 mins, when i picked up my heros to go and i got home. I discovered the chicken parm had too much breading, not enough cheese. I'm not a huge Full Moon fan. The pizza only gets an "ehhhh" in my book and I'm always left wondering if they ever actually clean inside. :-/ Have ordered take out from them on several occasions. When I've gotten there, they just put my pizza in. If you're going to take someone's order and tell them to come in 20 minutes you should have their order ready, not make them reorder. we began our day with a subway ride to arthur avenue's "little italy of the bronx." the pizza at full moon pizzeria elevates the ubiquitous pie to a high art of before unimaginable perfection! really, i can't believe how truly superior this 'za was to any other version i've ever had. my favorite was the broccoli, eggplant, mushroom. the slices are as big as your head and the whole underside is perfectly crisp without being hard. i don't know how they accomplish it, but it tastes like the finest freshly baked french bread in the world. the toppings are great quality and are individually cooked to perfection before being added to the pizza. even the pizza covered in veggies was perfectly crisp without any sogginess. chicago-style can't touch this. faaaaaat and happy : ) read more
