    Slice of Pizza

Portnoy rated this joint a 8.6 for a good reason. I'll leave it in the top 5 Bronx Pizza joints. Fresh hot pizza excellent crust. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Old world Bronx charm. Stools at front counter small booths in the back Open till 11 pm (2025) Very good prices Worth the drive.

Thanks for the great conversation, tasty food, fast service and making us laugh!

Tommy's is a hometown local joint with a no frills menu of good pizza. You can order by the slice at currently 2.50 or by the pie. They have a pan pizza with 4 slices for like $7 too. You can eat in or take out. Every pizza is made the way it has always been made with cornmeal crust in the oven by hand. The crust is the right ratio of crispy and doughy with a tasty sauce and good cheese to sauce ratio. You need to make sure that you have cash though since they don't take cards. If you are in the area, check out Tommy's for a slice or a pizza and help keep this neighborhood institution serving up pies for years to come.

Hidden gem. Been coming here since my Lehman days. This was back in the 90's. Top 5 pizza joint in the Bee X, Hands down. Slices are $3 and maintain that Italian flair and culinary integrity. Crunchy crust, modest cheese fill, and oil drippings.

I hardly do Updates, but felt this one was warranted. For me, someone who isn't into pizza much, Tommy's I believe is the best in Throggs Neck. Crisp crust, perfect imo tasting sauce, with a nice distribution of cheese and toppings. When you see Cops, Sanitation workers, Traffic Enforcement, DEP, and others line up in front of a spot, you know it's got to be good. They do one thing, and that one thing well. Definitely recommended. TIP: They also sell the occasional Beef Patty.

If you want to get a slice of the action, Tommy's in the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx is it. This is the spot for us teachers when we want to have a pizza party for our students because these folks offer reliable service and no-hassle delivery. It's my second Tommy's go-around- with my first being back in the Fall of 2019 when I had quit dairy and tried ordering a cheese-less slice and was abruptly told, "we don't make that". Out I went. My co-teachers recently bought a pie for our students' Valentine's Party and quite honestly- not only did the pie look good, but the 1/2 of a slice I ate, was damn tasty and wanted my own for lunch. Tommy's is small inside- so if you don't want to stay inside, place your order then wait outside until your slice is done. This pizza isn't like my fave Patsy's Pizza in East Harlem- but for Throggs Neck, it's really good. The result is a nice-tasting slice that's light on the sauce AND not overly-seasoned which I truly liked. Another impressive part is that Tommy's Pizza isn't doughy at all- nor is it too thin that droops on you as soon as you fold it by the crust. Just don't try to order salads or pastas; this is an old-school, pizza-only joint. To add, Tommy's isn't flashy or serve Neopolitan pizza- so look past all that- because the pizza is really good. Be warned: service can be market-trader curt.

The GOAT of Bronx Pizza. Period…read more If you want to know what real New York City pizza is supposed to taste like, stop looking and get to Louie & Ernie's on Crosby Ave. This isn't just a meal; it's a Bronx institution. The Vibe: Old School & Authentic This place is as "old school" as it gets. It's located in the basement of a house, and walking in feels like stepping back into 1959. There are no fancy decorations or "artisanal" gimmicks--just the smell of fresh dough and a gas oven that's probably seen more history than most museums. * Pro Tip: It is CASH ONLY. Don't be that person who gets to the counter with a card; come prepared. The Pizza: The Best in the Bronx I've had a lot of pizza, but this is easily the best in the borough. * The Crust: Paper-thin, perfectly salty, and has that signature "Bronx fold" with just the right amount of char on the bottom. * The Sausage: This is their claim to fame. They use huge, fresh chunks of sausage that are packed with flavor. It's heavy, it's greasy in the best way possible, and it's legendary. * The Sauce/Cheese: The ratio is perfection. The sauce is tangy and bright, and the mozzarella is creamy and never "rubbery." The Service The staff here are exactly what you want in a legendary neighborhood spot--friendly, fast, and no-nonsense. They keep the line moving, but they treat you like a regular even if it's your first time. Verdict: 10/10. It's simple, it's classic, and it's the king of the Bronx. If you haven't been, you're doing NYC wrong.

Unfortunately, the food I ate fell very short of my expectations. I ordered a few slices of both their regular pizza and Sicilian. The Sicilian slices barely had any sauce and too much dough that was not flavorful at all. The cheese did not taste that good either. The regular pizza slices also lacked flavor and sauce. They were also too thin and the crust was only a little crispy. The fresh mozzarella and tomato slice tasted the worst while the slice with pepperoni was somewhat better. I'm not sure if my experience with this restaurant is an outlier, but I was very disappointed with their food. If I am ever in the area where this pizzeria is located, maybe I might stop in to get a slice to see if eating in person leads to a better experience.

I enjoy the Chicken Parm, Meatballs, Pizza, Mozzarella Sticks & deserts! I definitely have a thing for their Vodka sauce too How's the food? The meatballs are so good.. Tender.. They fall apart which I like. Not big on huge, dense meatballs anyway.. These things taste amazing! You gotta try them.. The Chicken Parm with spaghetti in Vodka Sauce is one of my favorites dishes The chicken is nice and tender, sauce has a great flavor, cheese is nice and melted, pasta perfectly cooked and it's a pretty big portion! The Mozzarella Sticks are like no other! I'm telling you! They make them fresh on-site.. Not store bought frozen sticks where the cheese pops out the casing.. These things are the real deal.. The cheese is stringy, well melted.. And they're pretty big.. They don't skimp.. Good for like 2-3 people.. I can only eat one myself.. The Pizzas are pretty good too! I really enjoy the entry dishes but if I'm with a group, I'll get a pizza to share. They're pretty small anyway. My favorite dessert is the Conollis! They have a nice airy, light casing.. The ricotta filling is so flavorful and fluffy.. So on point The service staff is always welcoming, accommodating and super cool. Really good crew. The place itself is so chill. Layback atmosphere, some really cool music plays in the background, classic Hip Hop, Funk/Soul breaks and more.. historical art decor fills the walls and vibes are always right in the spot. Might even have some games on the TVs.. great spot altogether.. You can see the Pizza cook in their fire oven.. Pretty cool I think. So if you're looking for a really cool spot to munch at in the Bronx Kingsbridge Neighborhood, you should definitely check out Kingsbridge Social Club. It's a vibe! Have a good one yall! -Ray

It turned out to be one of the best recommendations we've received. My mom, my daughter, and I absolutely loved our experience. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but the staff welcomed us with a smile and never made us feel rushed. What made the evening even more special was how kind and attentive they were to my daughter. Their hospitality was exceptional and made us feel truly welcome. If you're visiting Arthur Avenue and looking for authentic Italian cuisine with outstanding service, Zero Otto Nove is a restaurant I highly recommend.
