Tommy's is another old school cash only pizza joint with that old Bronx vibe. It's not the biggest place but they dishing out big flavor and great pies. Keeping it simple and just making great pizza. There slices have that corn meal crust which adds to the extra crunch. Staff are quick and to the point like everything else in the Bronx and it ain't a bad thing. Was the great lunch a nice sweet sauce can't go wrong with A Dave Portnoy pizza rating as high as they have. Definitely would love some more of there great pizza. read more

A great neighborhood pizzeria. Looks like it's been around for absolutely ever! Cash only. Tommy himself was making the pizza! It's a small joint full of locals and pictures of all the kids sports teams that they sponsor in the neighborhood. Pizza is simple, with a delicious crunchy crust. We went as a stop on Scott's Pizza bus tour and quickly overwhelmed the space. It was an odd hour so that probably helped and Scott did call ahead for our order to keep up moving and to give them a heads up. All that said, Tommy couldn't have been friendlier. Regulars were friendly and spoke highly of the product. It looks like one of those places where the slices would have been exactly the same 20 years ago as they are today. read more

Tommy's is a hometown local joint with a no frills menu of good pizza. You can order by the slice at currently 2.50 or by the pie. They have a pan pizza with 4 slices for like $7 too. You can eat in or take out. Every pizza is made the way it has always been made with cornmeal crust in the oven by hand. The crust is the right ratio of crispy and doughy with a tasty sauce and good cheese to sauce ratio. You need to make sure that you have cash though since they don't take cards. I hardly do Updates, but felt this one was warranted. For me, someone who isn't into pizza much, Tommy's I believe is the best in Throggs Neck. Crisp crust, perfect imo tasting sauce, with a nice distribution of cheese and toppings. When you see Cops, Sanitation workers, Traffic Enforcement, DEP, and others line up in front of a spot, you know it's got to be good. They do one thing, and that one thing well. If you want to get a slice of the action, Tommy's in the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx is it. This is the spot for us teachers when we want to have a pizza party for our students because these folks offer reliable service and no-hassle delivery. It's my second Tommy's go-around- with my first being back in the Fall of 2019 when I had quit dairy and tried ordering a cheese-less slice and was abruptly told, "we don't make that". Out I went. My co-teachers recently bought a pie for our students' Valentine's Party and quite honestly- not only did the pie look good, but the 1/2 of a slice I ate, was damn tasty and wanted my own for lunch. Tommy's is small inside- so if you don't want to stay inside, place your order then wait outside until your slice is done. This pizza isn't like my fave Patsy's Pizza in East Harlem- but for Throggs Neck, it's really good. The result is a nice-tasting slice that's light on the sauce AND not overly-seasoned which I truly liked. Another impressive part is that Tommy's Pizza isn't doughy at all- nor is it too thin that droops on you as soon as you fold it by the crust. Just don't try to order salads or pastas; this is an old-school, pizza-only joint. To add, Tommy's isn't flashy or serve Neopolitan pizza- so look past all that- because the pizza is really good. I've been hearing about how great this place is for some time now. I was home alone on a Saturday night and figured I'd give it a try. I ordered a small pie with sausage and I have to be honest that I wasn't expecting much, especially after I was handed the box and it felt much heavier than most pizzas I'm used too. As soon as I got in the car I opened the box to prevent any further steaming which is the death of any take home pizza. When I opened the box I was taken back. It was very sloppy and greasy looking and reminiscent of the rubber vomit you used to get in the five and dime as kid. I got home and threw on a hot pizza stone I had going in the oven just to crisp up the bottom as it was in the box and that alone can ruin a good crust. Upon tasting it I was pleasantly surprised as it was really, really good! A bit more cheese than I like but damn good. Don't expect anything fancy from this place. They have pizza and calzones. No salads, no pasta. Just good old school pizza from an old school pizza place. I can't believe I waited this long in life to try this. read more

While driving through the Bronx, I decided to make a quick stop at Tommy's Pizza to grab a quick slice before I jumped on the Throgs Neck Bridge. I first heard about Tommy's from Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports and Lorenzo (special guest on the show) who both highly ranked the pizza. Dave and Lorenzo were both right; the pizza is very good. The sauce is a bit bland, but the corn meal crust and cheese lifted the pizza in my opinion. Now to the service itself...I do agree with all the Yelpers who complained about the unfriendly staff. On my visit, the staff were not even wearing masks (this review was written during the pandemic). Would I return to Tommy's Pizza in the future? If I lived in the area, I'd probably make frequent visits to this place to grab a quick slice. There are other pizza joints in the city that have comparable slices so there is nothing truly unique about this place. If I'm driving across the Throgs Neck Bridge, I'll stop by if I'm craving a slice of pizza. read more
