Hands down, the best pizza in the entire city. Arguably the planet. No frills, this Albanian joint keeps it simple and delicious regardless of the time you eat. Whether it's 11am or 11pm, you'll get a fantastic slice of pizza

I've been coming here since high school in 2007! (RKA 141). Their pizza never disappoints. Cheesy, hot, crunchy and just enough sauce. I love that they are so close to my home whenever I'm in New York!

@@ road trip post @@ Pros: * Open until midnight. Obviously horribly planning skills has us going through New York around 11 p.m. and we were all hangry. Most other places we were considering around Harlem/Bronx were closed. * HUGE slides for $3.00. Cheap. * Taste. I wanted to try the Sicilian but we ended up doing two NY slices, one with mushrooms one just cheese. The crust was bomb and the cheese/sauce were good too. * Bathroom is small (very small) but clean. * Despite the place itself being small there's two booths in the back -- or you can eat on the counter. * Can order slices or whole pies. In person, whole pies take about 20 minutes. Cons: * Cash only. I guess there's an ATM close by according to another customer but we ended up having enough cash so I can't confirm. * Pizza on the oily/soggy side toward the tip of the pizza. * A little slow to end transaction. The two guys on the trip didn't like how uninterested the pizza guy was in processing payment (he was making pizzas). I don't relate but he definitely didn't seem to be rushed about it.

Solid slice in the area. Had the pepperoni and the plain slice. Cozy vibe. Accepts credit cards.

    Is it thin crust?

It's somewhat thin. Not too thick or heavy. Hope that helps. It's delicious.

The GOAT of Bronx Pizza. Period…read more If you want to know what real New York City pizza is supposed to taste like, stop looking and get to Louie & Ernie's on Crosby Ave. This isn't just a meal; it's a Bronx institution. The Vibe: Old School & Authentic This place is as "old school" as it gets. It's located in the basement of a house, and walking in feels like stepping back into 1959. There are no fancy decorations or "artisanal" gimmicks--just the smell of fresh dough and a gas oven that's probably seen more history than most museums. * Pro Tip: It is CASH ONLY. Don't be that person who gets to the counter with a card; come prepared. The Pizza: The Best in the Bronx I've had a lot of pizza, but this is easily the best in the borough. * The Crust: Paper-thin, perfectly salty, and has that signature "Bronx fold" with just the right amount of char on the bottom. * The Sausage: This is their claim to fame. They use huge, fresh chunks of sausage that are packed with flavor. It's heavy, it's greasy in the best way possible, and it's legendary. * The Sauce/Cheese: The ratio is perfection. The sauce is tangy and bright, and the mozzarella is creamy and never "rubbery." The Service The staff here are exactly what you want in a legendary neighborhood spot--friendly, fast, and no-nonsense. They keep the line moving, but they treat you like a regular even if it's your first time. Verdict: 10/10. It's simple, it's classic, and it's the king of the Bronx. If you haven't been, you're doing NYC wrong.

Ok everyone, gather 'round…read more What we experienced last night was a game changer. Louie & Ernie's Pizza has been on many New York Pizza list for decades. When I see the Yankees in The Bronx, my go to first stop is always Arthur Avenue. I dismissed Louie & Ernie's Pizza, what if it's like Lucali with a mind numbing line? Well I'm happy to report that I pulled up to a free parking spot. The area reminds me of Queens, it's more residential so there's no parking worries. In terms of being slammed? We walked into a non assuming pizza place. Growing up in New York, it's the same style pizza place in every New York City borough. Walking into Louie & Ernie's Pizza on a Sunday afternoon, I see the TV has the Giants game on. There's the same wood paneling on the walls from the 70s, it feels like a time warp! Do the patrons realize they're enjoying pizza on Eater's The Best Pizzerias of New York City list? I walk in and see a small kitchen with the pizza guys crafting pizza. I ask the hostess do we need to be seated with menus or order here with you? I ordered two pizzas, Margarita and Clam and we all sat with our paper plates. The first pizza comes out, the Margarita pizza. Everything about this pizza is award winning. From the freshly made cheeses to the tomato sauce and thin crust, this is a real New York Pizza. It's something we all grew up enjoying. The Long Island Pizza guys with their TikToc videos and one hundred thousand followers, you're not making the same quality pizza as Louie & Ernie's Pizza. The clam pizza, my brother in law is a clam pizza fiend! I thought it was very good, there was a little heat to it so be aware if you order this pizza. After we left, this spot changed MY entire best NY pizza list. Louie & Ernie's Pizza is a travel to, pay the bridge tolls and enjoy this pizza type of place.

As one should. I ordered the Pasta al Forno, which showed up hot, cheesy, and very much not interested in being subtle. Comfort food doing the absolute most -- baked, sauced, and bubbling like it knew it was the right choice. One would think "Boiled eggs in pasta?", but trust me, the bechamel sauce takes it to the next level. Ms. J. went for the daily special: Radiatori in Cartoccio, cooked inside a sealed pocket of aluminum foil and opened tableside like a little pasta reveal. Steamy, aromatic, and frankly a bit of a showoff -- in the best possible way. And then there was the Tiramisu. We shared it (heroically), and I'm just going to say it: top-tier tiramisu. Not too sweet, beautifully balanced, rich without being heavy -- one of the best we've had in NYC, and we do not make that claim lightly. We both love tiramisu. We both judge tiramisu. This one passed with stars. Zero nonsense, big flavors, and a tradition that continues to age very well. We'll be back. Obviously. ‍

I thought it was going to be superficially large pizza with a horrible taste. ON THE CONTRARY - NO! The pizza was delicious and I found the salt content to be reasonable, perfectly salted. I paid 38$ for the super sized pizza. My kids devoured it, while my wife took pictures of of the kids eating their kite sized pizza slices. I highly recommend this "Bronx Style" pizzeria. But the fact of the matter is the quality of the cheese and dough is not up to par. The pizza resonates of low quality mozzarella cheese and poor quality bread. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they wanted to "try that place that they heard of on social media or from a friend who ate here 20 years ago. it's just not worth it. They are better pizza places in the Bronx (Circle, Yankee Pizza, Ernie's, Tony's on Throggs Neck, Pugsley Pizza)z If the owner were able to improve on the pizza by incorporating better quality ingredients, I would definitely give it a shot again. I wouldn't even mind if they charged seven dollars a slice for that mammoth slice because it is very very big. But in its current incarnation, I would have to pass on a second round. It's just not worth the money because the taste and quality of the slice is so poor. What happened?!??
