This place is tiny inside and it's on a highly traveled street. I mean very busy, with vehicular traffic, pedestrians, and your food delivery guys on their (mostly) electric bikes zooming by. So, parking is a ball breaker. After you get situated with finding parking, better yet, take mass transit if you can, you'll find a non descript pizzeria. It's CASH ONLY ** they have ATM's inside for your convenience, which I had to use and I think the fee was 2.50$ but I'm not sure. The pizzeria slices are HUGE.-ginormous- colossal!! I thought it was going to be superficially large pizza with a horrible taste. ON THE CONTRARY - NO! The pizza was delicious and I found the salt content to be reasonable, perfectly salted. I paid 38$ for the super sized pizza. My kids devoured it, while my wife took pictures of of the kids eating their kite sized pizza slices. I highly recommend this "Bronx Style" pizzeria. Yes it a big slice. Probably the biggest you have seen and yes, it is a big pie. Probably the biggest you've seen. But the fact of the matter is the quality of the cheese and dough is not up to par. The pizza resonates of low quality mozzarella cheese and poor quality bread. I've been eating here on and off for many years and the quality of the product has deteriorated. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they wanted to "try that place that they heard of on social media or from a friend who ate here 20 years ago. it's just not worth it. They are better pizza places in the Bronx (Circle, Yankee Pizza, Ernie's, Tony's on Throggs Neck, Pugsley Pizza)z If the owner were able to improve on the pizza by incorporating better quality ingredients, I would definitely give it a shot again. The place is as tiny as ever, there are only 4 bar type stools and a ledge to place your food which is right across from the serving counter. If you don't like the heat do not sit in here or perhaps maybe you should so you can sweat off the 20lbs you gained from eating this yummy behemoth of a slice . Any time we were in the mood for pizza Cross Bronx Pizza is where we turned to. This pizza is the right amount of crust to cheese to taste. They have regular size slices but this place is known for their Jumbo Pizza slices. It's a mouth watering slice that people can go pick up after school or order a pie to bring home. The owner is always so nice and greets you as you enter. You can go inside and order and they also have a window on the side of the pizzeria when it's to packed to order inside you can order from outside. These slices are just the right amount of cheese to to bread to crust. I also ordered a beef patty with cheese and cocoa bread. With every bite all three of these items melts in your mouth. Good, clean sauce, cheesy, and crust perfectly ties all that together for a very inexpensive price Huge slices for the price can't be beat, and the best part is, they're not part of the gimmicky social media posts like Pizza Barn, so there's no line, and no tourists. Only downside is it's very small, no bathroom, nowhere really to sit, so it's more of a grab and go kind of place, but I'm more than willing to make that trade off for the value and quality. Another Huge Bronx Slice Here's one of my favorite dining rooms. Just 8 chairs and two tables. You have about 6 feet from the counter to the wall and fears of the entire building collapsing are not unfounded.  There are two sizes of slices. One for whole pies, and one gigantic size for by-the-slice. If you want the real experience, get it by the slice. Each individual one measures about 16 inches in length. Picking it up makes you feel like a clown or Alice in Wonderland. It's so big that if you order 2 slices, you are a moron. It seems like they gave up on plates a long time ago, so now they serve slices on sheets of wax paper. Wax paper.  The pizza tastes garlicky and cheesy to the fullest, and properly sauced with tomato and grease in between. The coastline can get very big, but considering the size of the thing, proportionally it is fair and balanced like FOX News. If you talk to other customers, you will see how passionate their regulars are - and for good reason, this is the slice that memories are made of. Now I live in this area and have always seen this place and never stepped inside. For some reason I did when I was craving pizza. It was all good until I paid for my pizza. the stores son came in asking for pizza fair enough. he started flirting with me. Girls talk, and usually they agree- Bigger is Better. This place has a very big slice, and great minimalist atmospher- but taste is really not that great. Have to be brave to go here? Wow. Some of you guys must live in Greenwich, CT and never come out of your houses! Castle Hill is a very busy road (I grew up there) and yes, there is crime but don't let that scare you away from grabbing a good slice from Cross Bronx Pizza. If you're really that scared, park near the bus stop and don't even get out of your car - just yell over to the pizzeria counter and have them bring out a slice for you. Don't get car-jacked in the process... If you want to talk about the pizza quality, I'd rate it a 3.5/5. I've been here at least 50 times and they make good pizza, but I've been to better pizzerias...one just down the road near the train station (Roma).
