Wonderful experience, the last review by L.A. pretty much sums up our experience... so read that for the details. But, I wanted to chime in and say that my meal (especially the fact that I ate 1000 clams) was the best one I have had in a while. Service was outstanding, my pasta was fresh and delicious, and the tiramisu was great too. Pro Tip! Don't go to a Italian place that makes homemade food and order spaghetti and marinara sauce... get something you couldn't make yourself for $3. read more

What a great place- The family and I stumbled upon this place after a long day of stress driving and Goonie filled Astoria fun. It had been about 12 hours since we'd eaten anything that didn't come out of a gas station and we were looking for someplace to make some memories. This place was it. The service was outstanding- our waiter was catering to several late night diners (around 930pm) and we never felt ignored or like we were putting him out- just a really salt of the earth guy. The food was very good too- We started with the Piatti di Oliva and Spedini apps and were blown away- the entrees were good- the family was much more impressed than I was but it was very good- it's hard to impress and East Coast Italian boy with Italian food- but everything was very good- presentation, taste, price. If I was in Boston I would give this place 3 stars, but in Astoria, this is a 5 star place. We got a lot for not much price- were treated like family and it's a night that my family and I will remember for a long long time. read more

We had reservations on Fathers Day, and when we arrived, there were few people. We ordered a simple appetizer, and three entrees. Several other people came in after us, and after 35 minutes, no appetizer. We asked about our good, as two tables seated after ours received their entrees before our appetizer, and then miraculously all of our entrees appeared, no appetizer. They were fair and removed the appetizer, but the timing was less than stellar. Food was good, tea was bad, and we're willing to try again. Not the Fathers Day Night out of our dreams. read more

This is a large, well-furnished and extraordinary restaurant. Located on Commercial street in Astoria, this 2-part deli and Pastaria is an excellent blend of Italian and local cuisine. Succulent pasta entrees are served right alongside sturgeon caught just the day before. Sporting an extensive menu combined with great service, this restaurant is a great choice for every person, whether you're a native or a traveler. read more

Fulio's - Crustless lemon cheesecake in a sun-dried cherry sauce - Italian Near Me - Astoria, Oregon

I sooooo wanted to like this place. We were visiting Astoria for just a night, splurged a bit for a nicer-than-normal hotel room and decided to eat here for dinner. We've had so much good luck in Astoria lately, I think we thought we could do no wrong. This was not a bad experience by any means, don't get me wrong, it was just a bit disappointing. The service started out a bit awkward, but that was more of a personal preference thing. I don't really like being asked where to sit beyond "booth or table." I ended up picking a place that walled us off from the other diners, which made me feel like more of a tourist than I needed to be. Other than that, the service was great. The drinks were great. The food . . . well, the food was not great. I tried to defend it when it came out. I said the Parmesan cheese probably just looked like it was out of a can, but was actually fresh. That was really all the defending I could do, though, as when I dug in to my pasta, I ran into clumped together noodles. I soon realized that my dish sat under a heat lamp for awhile while the boyfriend's was completed (yes, this is conjecture on my part). It was all fine, but it did not match our expectations. I have had better food at some of the chain restaurants, but I've also had worse. I'd probably try Fulio's again, but I'd want to go to some of the other fantastic restaurants that Astoria has to offer first. read more

My time at Fulios was nothing short of incredible. Astoria truly has some amazing restaurants and Fulios falls right into that category. It's small, friendly atmosphere and the food rivals restaurants of higher class. You will have a wonderful time here. I recommend 2 things, if you like steak, you have to get the fillet. Best steak I have had in a long time. If you want pasta, get the butternut squash ravioli. Yes I know it sounds weird, but its out of this world and there is nothing else like it. If you can't, get both :) the fillet with a side of butternut. Incredible! The also have normal Italian cuisine there, which is good, but try what I just listed and you will go home happy. read more

Went here with some family and were very pleased. The rib eye steak was one of the best steaks I have had at a restaurant in a long time. It had that charcoal grilled flavor, along with being cooked exactly how I wanted, which was medium rare. My wife had the fettucine alfredo with chicken and mushrooms, and it was delicious. So many at restaurants are too garlicky, or have too much parsley. This version was very good. We ordered the bread with olive oil and balsamic. there was too much olive oil to get through to get to the balsamic. Also the oil and vinegar wasn't seasoned with any herbs or salt and pepper. there is salt and pepper on the table, but some herbs would be a nice touch and a bit more balsamic and less oil. We ordered the charred caesar salad, and it was a different and delicious treat that we would have again. It would be nice if the core at the bottom of the lettuce was removed before serving. Other than that it was great. Will return again, especially to try the AYCE Steamers!! read more

This was a nice find for a day when we had upset stomachs. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the service was great. However the food was just average. I did enjoy my stay there in Astoria and most likely would return again. read more

Fulio's - Italian Near Me - Astoria, Oregon

Allan Laplante and Fulio's catered two group dinners for us at the Best Western Astoria Bayfront Hotel. We had an Italian Pasta dinner the first night and an upscale NY steak and halibut dinner the next. Both were amazing. Allan was super easy to work with, delivered his dinner right on time, and offered us a great value for the money. I would highly recommend Allan and Fulio's for catering needs. read more

While the food is great, my experiences with takeout have been a hit and a miss; i.e. no butter, napkins or utensils sometimes. No big deal. But when you pay $4.00 extra plus tip for shrimp and don't receive it, or utensils, it's pretty frustrating. Ended up feeling I'd paid a bit extra for nothing. I'll take the loss though, the dish (Linguine Crab Pesto) is still seriously good. read more

We came on Thursday, clam day. Whoa! Picture 3 1/2 to 4 lbs of fresh butter clams with a cup of melted butter put in front of you! As a side dish, some of the best fettuccine alfredo and side salad you have ever tasted. Also, fresh bread to dip into olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We were visitors to Astoria. After finishing off the clams, I was crying that I could not take the leftovers home in a doggy bag. The best was, including a couple of beers each, it was way less than we would have paid for a hamburger and two beers each at home. There was also no tax! read more

It's my first time to Fulio's Pastria. What struck me most when I arrived is the decorating - I loved the decor! The ambiance is perfect for an enjoyable meal; whether you are coming in from a beach walk or on a special date. And - oh ya... the food is good too. I had a fabulous meal and would love to come back! read more

My husband and I got a last minute reservation on a Friday night. This seems to be the only fully staffed restaurant that I have seen in a long time. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and my husband ordered a Stella on draft- both were very refreshing! For our meal, I had the Eggplant Parm and my husband had the Veal Parm. The Eggplant Parm had ricotta in it- I've never seen it prepared like that, it was delicious. My husband enjoyed his Veal Parm too! Of course we had to get the tiramisu for dessert which was fabulous. Service was great- we look forward to coming back! read more

Best steak in town! When you have a family that want different dishes this is the place. Delicious pasta and all sauces are gluten free (I never would have known, so good) had the Alfredo, totally recommend. Pasta and steak, we'll be back! read more

Haven't been here since Peter sold. We came for early dinner and ordered off the lunch menu. We were one of three tables at 3:30. The menu hasn't fundamentally changed with the new owner. Hubby ordered the stroganoffs melt. A sandwich full of beef, onions and mushrooms. He loved it. I ordered Alfredo with house smoked salmon. The salmon was in bite size squares...with a great flavor but way overly salty for my taste. Our waiter was good but he seemed forced overly friendly.. not genuine... just an observation. My favorite ravioli with curry sauce is still on the menu, so as locals, we might be back... read more

After some wandering about the streets of Astoria trying to decide where to go for dinner, we settled on this little Italian place. Cute place and we got a window table. The food is eh okay. It is what it is. I had spaghetti with ragu sauce. When it arrived, I found the amount of sauce to be a little minimal so I asked for more, which helped. It tasted fine, nothing extraordinary or better than I could do. My boyfriend's lasagna was fine, again, nothing great. I think there are better eats in Astoria and I'm pretty sure you can find better than what I experienced at Fulio's but if you're left with not too many options on a weeknight and you're ok with mediocre American style Italian, go for it. read more

Came here on a whim, starving, and needed food pretty fast because we had a toddler to get to bed. We were staying just around the corner, called in our order and picked it up all with in 20 minutes. FANTASTIC FOOD!!! Wish we could've eaten in the restaurant and relaxed, but life with our 2yo wouldn't let us. We had spaghetti bolognese with 2 meatballs added, ravioli, and a lemon cheese cake for dessert! So good!!! read more

More 3.5, but it's not outrageously great so it's getting the three. Whatever you do, you should order the spedini, which I'll post a photo of at some point. It's delicious. The sauce bites back with capers and garlic and vinegar, soaks into the bread and makes even the somewhat sub-par bread they give you before dinner tasty. Skip the olives...you've had better elsewhere, trust me. The ravioli di zucca is where it's at unless the have cream of chantrelle soup during the fall, then you might just have that, because it's that good. Pastas are ok, not outstanding. It's a good enough choice if you're in Astoria, pretty much on a par with a lot of the other options available. read more

Our very very favorite! Marinara is great, I love the Putanesca, wife loves the Salsiccia, boy is Marinara. Steaks are amazing, I usually wait for a special. Caesar dressing is great, try the seared Caesar salad, very unique. Prices very reasonable. You won't be disappointed! read more

My wife, daughter, and I were on vacation to Portland and the Oregon coast. My wife was looking forward to the food on the trip and assumed that the best food would be found during our time in Portland. Little did we anticipate what awaited us in Astoria. After a long, windy, and rainy day cruising the stores up and down one of the main streets in Astoria, we found ourselves ready for dinner. We could all agree on Italian so we walked into Fulio's. At first, I was a little put off by the prices, not that they were outrageous, but just because I wasn't in the mood to spend what I was seeing. I guess I was approaching dinner with the idea of take out counter service eaten at the hotel but, thankfully, my wife had other ideas. She wanted to sit down and she wanted to be served. Who am I to argue? I settled on the butternut and gorgonzola squash ravioli with a curry cream sauce. WOW!! It was easily one of the best things to ever have passed through my lips. I couldn't keep the smile off my face. The color of the meal was a visual delight and the combination of the gorgonzola, butternut and curry was just amazing. Topping it off was the amazing aroma of the curry. I motioned the waiter over and asked him to relay a message to the chef about how happy he'd made one diner that day; that it was one of the best meals I'd ever had. Turns out, my wife's fetuccini alfredo was just as good. I simply had to take the leftovers home. The next night at home, I gently warmed the leftover ravioli, closed my eyes, ate, and was delighted once more. Fulio's Pataria is a winner. If you're in Astoria, don't miss it. I almost forgot to mention, the presentation was so nice, I took a pic and sent it to my best friend to make him jealous. It worked. read more

5 for the great wine. 3 for the average food. My wife and I have been here twice. Once just for wine and once for a full meal. Both times we have been impressed with the quality of the wine. And at ~$6-7 a glass it is fairly reasonable. Our only real issue was the steak we ordered. We ordered it medium, and it did in fact come cooked medium, warm and red in the center. However, I don't think medium includes a coating of black char coving the entire piece of meat. Even after cutting off the char the inside had very little flavor. For $20 you expect to get a steak that was prepared with a little TLC. Fail. They should get rid of the "Tuscan Steakhouse" side of the business and just focus on the Italian food. If you do go, order the spedini. read more

Ordered the fettuccine $10 and added salmon for $4 and only got 4 flakes of salmon. Will not be eating here again. Chocolate cake was good though. read more

Fulio's - Italian Near Me - Astoria, Oregon

I don't know if Fulio's is truly a five-star restaurant but based off my one-time visit this past July, I couldn't find any reason not to give them a perfect score. Located right in the heart of downtown Astoria, we wandered in during lunch time on a weekday. We were totally wishy-washy about whether this was going to be our ultimate destination (we were considering other locales as well) but the host couldn't have been any more generous and welcoming with us, despite our flighty conveyance. Once seated, we were treated to a classy Italian atmosphere and more superb service. To our initial dismay, the food option I selected on the menu had been discontinued. However, our host and cook were quick to offer and find a way to make it work for me anyway (and no, I didn't badger them to do so, they were just legitimately helpful.) TL;DR: Service was quick, food was great, and all was well. We were a little sad to leave. Bonus: I could be making this up, because my memory fails me sometimes, but I swear the men's bathroom had a black toilet. I don't know if that fact alone may drive someone to stop in but I mean, c'mon, it's a black toilet. Or maybe it was just a white toilet with dark colored walls... there's only one way to find out. read more

Warning:they will add food to your table that seems complimentary then charge you at the end like a sneak. I.E.the bread. They must take in a lot for this trick. The food was good, too bad for the ticket issue. I did get an apology and my money back when I went in the next day. The server agreed that the practice is not acceptable. So I added another star. read more

I wouldn't even give it one star! We had reservations for 4. I hadn't seen my husband in a month because he's been up there fishing for work. He wanted to do something nice and romantic for me. Showed up and we forgot our masks. They immediately yelled at us to get out! We apologized for forgetting our masks and asked if they had any. They yelled, NO! They just kept yelling get out like we were trying to rob them or something. The whole restaurant was looking at us. It was so uncalled for and rude. We visited another restaurant and they were happy to get us masks and in to eat without reservations! They lost about $300 minimum from us and I'll never go back and everyone we know we have told not to go back there! We are part of a large fishing community that stays out in Astoria for about 2 months so I hope they get hit in their pocket hard for the way they treat people! read more

I was looking for pasta for my mom and didn't think they would have anything I could eat (because I have a gluten sensitivity) but they did! They even have a specified GF pot to cook the GF noodles in. I decided to order the tacos anyway and they were delicious. Just had the gigantic bowl of clams with Alfredo sauce and linguine and a lovely house salad for $20. There were so many clams I could not finish. We had the caprese salad at our table and the crab pasta besides the spaghetti with meatballs. All were great. It was under $100 for everything for five and our server was amazing in that she gave great advice with prompt service. Sorry I haven't come here before. Saw our friend having the lamb and he said the lamb is worth the wait. Good Job! If you haven't been here in the last six months with the new chef and owners you should come check it out ! read more

Fulio's - Italian Near Me - Astoria, Oregon

The food was good, cioppino and crab pesto pasta. 1.We waited 5+minutes at the front before we saw a waitress or hostess. 2.Shown to a table which was not set with silverware and told it would be set, it never was. 3.Waitress didn't introduce herself as our waitress but poured water. 4.She asked for our order, we weren't told specials. 5.Appetizer never came. No offer to make up for the mistake. 6.After a long wait, food came. 7.We had no silverware to eat it with. 8.Got silverware with No spoon, ate cioppino with a fork because she didn't come back. 9.Our bill was brought and we weren't offered dessert. All the while we were patient and pleasant but we will not recommend or return. read more

This place had great food, nice ambiance. I sat in a window seat with a nice view of the town. The waiter was nice, but was completely absorbed with ONE other table. Got half way through my meal before he returned, then realized he'd forgotten my wine. When I was done, I had to stand at the front to pay as my check was never brought to the table. No one even approached me. I had to go find someone. Then it took another 10 minutes of standing there to get my check. Under staffed? Only 2 tables. Shocked! read more
