I came in and ordered a Paparazzi Roll and it was so good I ordered another one to go. I walked all the way back to my hotel in the heat just to open up my to go box and realize they gave me the incorrect roll. I called the restaurant to see if they had a delivery driver that could drop the roll off at my hotel. They couldn't give me a clear answer on that. Instead they said they would refund my entire order OR call me back later to see what they could do. I never received that call back. I had to call them the next day just to see what the update was. An employee answered and said her manager was on break and when she got off she would have her call me. An hour after her manager was supposed to have gotten back from break I finally got a call, I could tell they weren't prioritizing me or the mistake they made. I missed the call and called them back 3 minutes later. The manager had the WORST attitude. She had my name wrong and asked me why I was calling her phone as if she did not make the phone call to mine first. I reminded her of the situation. She passes me off to the employee that I spoke to in the first place. They then told me they would refund both rolls I purchased then they would call me back for my card information, which I didn't feel 100% comfortable providing over the phone anyways, so I could pay for the one roll I had in the restaurant. UPDATE: The General Manager of the store called me and was very nice. He listened to the entire situation empathetically and apologized on behalf of his employees. He offered a full refund, and sent confirmation of the refund. The sushi itself was really good there are just things that need to be worked on service wise which he said that he would talk to his staff about. It was nice to have someone take ownership of the situation and provide me with some assistance with the issue I was having. read more

We ordered the salmon and rainbow roll with the rainbow roll being my favorite of the two. I also ordered the chicken udon which was delicious but came out almost 25 minutes after the sushi. Have walked past this restaurant for years and never been inside and it was a wonderful surprise. Came with a friend who is also a long time Burbank resident and they had never been here either and it felt like discovering a hidden gem. They got the forbidden roll and sizzling albacore the really enjoyed both and I got the Philly roll which was great (although asparagus in it is an interesting choice) and miso soup which was perfect on a cold night. Would definitely come back here for one of their lunch specials and it's great that it's open later than most restaurants nearby. The portions were plentiful and the sashimi was delectable. My favorites were the shrimp and the salmon. The lemon on the side was a nice touch. There are many sushi restaurants in Burbank, so here's another one marked-off my list. Fujiya has a lot going on at once. The 1st things I noticed in the restaurant were the multiple flatscreen TVs playing various shows. There was loud background club music. The cherry blossom decor was excessive, yet pretty at times. Just a very busy environment, so beware. Would recommend using Yelp to reserve a table; we did and were seated on-time. We ordered various dishes, including the Miso Glazed Salmon Truffle signature plate, Lemon Roll, Salmon Teriyaki dinner special (not pictured), Seafood Udon (not pictured), and 8-pieces sushi combination dinner. I liked the 8-pieces sushi combination dinner the most. The fish was fresh, albeit cut a bit too thickly for my tastes. The combo dinner was $19.95 and came with miso soup and a small salad, which made it a filling and affordable meal. You get to choose between a spicy tuna roll or California roll for the dinner, and I chose the former. Honestly, I thought both the spicy tuna and Lemon rolls were filled thickly with tuna and could've used more rice to balance them out. If I had to return to Fujiya, then I'd only get the sushi - even if they're lacking rice. I tried a bit of the Seafood Udon, which arrived last and was underwhelming in flavor. The dinner special with Salmon Teriyaki was standard (came with rice, miso soup, salad, and mixed tempura); it wasn't super special and you could get a similar bento set at most sushi restaurants for around the same price. So I'm actually really disappointed in tonight's dinner. I've always had good food and tonight just really missed the mark. Started with shrimp gyoza for appetizer. I ordered the baked lobster roll with nori instead of soy paper and a side of eel sauce. And my sister ordered the miso ramen. The gyoza came out way over cooked. The shrimp mixture had no flavor. And the dipping sauce came in a small plastic to-go container. We didn't even get our chopsticks out and they brought my rolls. And soon after the ramen. The baked lobster rolls were cold, just the top was briefly baked. The rice was mushy and again the flavors were not there. Although I do appreciate they could make the rolls with nori (even though the server had no idea what that was... Sigh :\) I never did get my eel sauce and by the time the staff came to check on us, we didn't need it. The ramen was decent. I liked the asparagus and veggies but the broth again lacked flavor. Our bill came via an electronic tablet. I really hate these! The server just stands there waiting while you are looking over the bill. We opted to pay in cash. We just put the money down and the server took it away and we left. Really bummed this place disappointed us. Mediocre food. Adequate service, but not amazing. Fun atmosphere. Beyond disappointed after being a loyal customer. They send warm fish and none of the sauces that the dishes come with. I even called to ask for extra spicy mayo since there was no option to add on. The worker ensured me he would put some and there was nothing. 2 soy sauce packets for several dishes and not one sauce in sight. I don't know who enjoys dry raw fish, but I didn't bother. We decided to stop by for dinner before a movie last night. We walked in and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated right away. The menu options were vast and they even had a selection of keto rolls for those who want to avoid grains. The sashimi was fresh and the Aloha keto roll was nice and tangy. My only complaint is that the waitress came up and asked my husband is he wanted another beer and after he said yes she picked up his mug which was still a quarter full. Sushi came out fresh and full of flavor, we also ordered three different types of sashimi which left us pleased for the evening. More importantly, it has been remodeled and now looks like a bar, dark inside at 12pm even though it used to have great natural light. I mean my go to at most restaurants are lobster rolls, but nothing beats a nice BLCR in my opinion! I tried the Dynamite Lobster Roll to go, and it was quite tasty! They didn't bring out wasabi or soy sauce with our sushi, or katsu sauce with our tonkatsu until we flagged them down. There were only a handful of parties, but they kept ignoring us when they walked by. -Wasabi was left out. It was drying out, and changing color. -Tonkatsu tasted too meaty (hard to describe, but they didn't marinade the meat, and neutralize the smells, as is typical for Korean or Japanese cuisine) -The rice was undersweetened -there was weird super salty green onion it looked like on top of our rolls. -spicy tuna were super small. -specialty rolls only had 6 pieces Overall the sushi is just okay. It's overpriced for what it is, and its easy to get a better experience elsewhere. Fish was fresh, but I haven't seen evidence the chefs know how to bring out the best from the fish. read more
