We went here on a Sunday late afternoon, so didn't have to wait long to be seated. The dry and soup ramen was delish but the baked Spaghetti Bolognese could be better. The sauce lacked meat and that ruined it for me. Overall good service and fast.
First time here and it was good, albeit pretty pricey for ramen. It's a later dinner crowd that came here on a Saturday so arriving at 5:15 was just fine. We were seated quickly and our order was taken. Only a couple tables were occupied when we arrived. The fujiwara ramen was flavorful. It came out really hot too. At first, it looked small so I also ordered the fried oysters. As I ate, I realized the bowl had a lot more food and ramen in it than one could see and the oysters had a lot of batter on them. Between these two, I was pretty full afterwards. Beers on tap are inexpensive. Service was quick and the staff was pleasant. By the time we left around 6:30, the place was packed and there was a line outside. Would I come back again? Not sure. It's not that the food is bad - in fact it's good. But it is expensive to take a family of 4 here in the grand scheme of things.
I was in the area and really craving some bomb so I decided to check this place out. Upon entering, it's a mix of Cantonese, Hong Kong Cafe, food and Japanese food. I will say my favorite was the car. The pieces were very large and very filling after eating an entire order I pretty much couldn't eat any of the Ramen anymore. The Ramen that I got was the black garlic tonkatsu, which was definitely heavier and denser. Soup was pretty good, but after a couple bites, especially after eating the chicken I couldn't eat anymore and had to take it back home. My grandpa got a chicken Ramen, and he said there wasn't much flavor. I didn't really try so I'm not exactly sure. Parking took a minute especially in the evening. It is located in a plaza however, there's plenty of businesses there too.
Had their ramen a long time ago, and it was pretty good. However, this review is focused on their Hong Kong cafe items. Sometime in 2024, Fujiwara introduced Hong Kong (HK) style cafe menu. Wifey loves HK food so we had to try. We went with a few Hong Kong folks. The fried chicken wings were legit and the fries were very crispy. The curry fish balls were not bad, but thought the flavor was a tad lacking. I had the baked seafood with white cream sauce and I liked it. I went again recently and tried their curry ox tongue with rice. There were a lot of tongue pieces and tender enough with still some texture for chewing. What made my meal better was the Asahi draft beer. Interesting that they offer both ramen and HK cafe food, but good enough taste for me that I would go back. Still tons of HK food items I would like to try.
This is an interesting place that offers Japanese and Hong Kong cafe fusion dishes. My default dish is their curry ox tongue rice. With a full price menu item, a Hong Kong milk tea can be had for $2. The ox tongue is sliced and tender. Together with curry sauce and rice, each bite is quite heavenly. Surprisingly you can eat all the rice before all the slices of tongue. That's enjoying the dish. It is competitively priced. The wait staff speaks Cantonese and English so nothing will be lost in translation. Service is friendly and accommodating. I definitely be back for more.
Came here a few times after Fujiwara added the HK style food. We have tried many different dishes. Curry ones are always good. Love the curry beef tongue . The curry seafood has very little seafood. Chicken a la king was yummy if you don't like red sauce. Love their HK milk tea too. One time when we wanted more condensed milk, they gave us the whole bottle! LOL! But the next time, we only got a little. French toast is also our favorite too. We have tried to Ovaltine toast as well and liked it. It's not too sweet so it's perfect. My family tried the ramen and said it's good too. Overall, this place is legit for HK cafe styled food!
Really enjoyed the food at Fujiwara. Their menu had a lot of options that can suit a big party with different cravings. The menzame was silky and flavorful. The combination of the fresh veggies and saltiness of the pork makes a great mix. I would recommend ordering this since it is a bit unique for the Dublin area and it feels lighter compared to a full bowl of noodle soup. The agedashi tofu is something I would also recommend. The sauce is flavorful and the tofu has a nice crunch. Taste and texture is on point with it. The service was quick here. We got our food within a few minutes of sitting down, so it is a perfect spot for a quick lunch.
It was a balmy evening and we needed something to eat to warm us up. Ramen sounded like a good idea. We all haven't been to this spot so we decided to try it out. Overall not a bad option for ramen, chashu was fantastic, noodles a good chew, broth a little lack luster, and curry a bit meh, but overall, an okay option for some noods. L O C A T I O N In the Ulferts plaza in Dublin right near Koi Palace Express. They share a parking lot with all the other shops and restaurants. Parking can be challenging during peak dining times. Go closer towards the sides of the plaza to get better parking options. I N S I D E They have a bar seating area in the middle with "larger" tables on the sides. Three large TVs are on each side of the room. M E N U As it is a ramen spot, there is of course ramen. They also have appetizers as well as katsu curry. On the table there is a menu for Mazemen which is a brothless ramen. You can get the ramen with thin or thick noodles. The thick noodle is what I know as "standard" ramen noodles. So if you want thinner than that, then you go with the thin. We got the Fujiwara Ramen with extra noodles, gyoza and pork katsu curry. The gyoza was standard and came with a sweet vinegary sauce. Slight crisp on the bottom, juicy meat inside. The Fujiwara ramen was fine. The broth was okay. The noodles bouncy. The star of this ramen was the chashu. It was thinly sliced, but the flavor on that chashu was *chefs kiss*. The pork katsu curry was okay as well. The curry felt like boxed curry. Not enough veggies in my opinion. The pork was actually moist. S E R V I C E Our waters were definitely filled often which was nice. We had to flag folks when we ended up finally ordered (we had to ask to give us time initially) and then when we were finished to get the check. That's all, but everyone was very friendly and helpful. O V E R A L L I think I would want to try out more ramen here but for now, it's actually not a bad choice. I don't typically get ramen, so did I enjoy myself? Sure. Did it warm my belly? Sure. Was I wowed...not really. Did it have some high points? Yes. Did it have not so great points? Yes. So I kind of fall in the middle in terms of how I feel about this place. So I would say, I'll be back and I invite you to try it out yourself!
Came in for dinner and it was busy as usual. The place is small, and the food is good, so it's to be expected. My party of four waited about 5 minutes for a table to free up, and he cleaned up. We ordered the agedashi tofu with bonito flakes - such a yummy topping! I finally got to try the Nagoya Classic Mazemen, it was delicious! I can't wait to try the other Mazemen flavors. The rest of my party ordered their favorites; Shouyu ramen; Miso Ramen; and Mixed Grilled Steak Sizzling Platter that comes with soup and drink (milk tea was chosen). We all enjoyed our meal and left full & happy!
Came here on a Thursday evening for dinner. Restaurant was about 30% full. Not too big of a place. We were seated right away. The waitress kept the required interactions to a minimum. We were feeling like ramen, but saw that the restaurant offered other items as well. The menu was almost overwhelming. We ended up ordering the following: Black Pepper Chicken 3/5: this was tasty but nothing special. Frozen chicken and sauce served with canned vegetables. Miso Ramen 3/5: this was also tasty but nothing special. Chicken wings 4/5: these were crispy with the right amount of salt. Would order this again. Overall, good place to go to get a weeknight dinner if you didn't feel like cooking. They do have two TVs which allow you to catch the basketball games while you eat.
My coworker and I came here on Thursday past 12 and we we got seated immediately. They took a while to get our order. I got the original ramen and my coworker got the black sesame garlic ramen. My ramen was just okay, tasted like any other ramen I've tasted. The pork was really fatty but that was okay haha my coworker thought the black garlic ramen was okay but it was really really oily. The broth had a strong taste of just oil. Blah. Service was also just okay. They just gave us water, took our order and gave us the bill. Overall, it was just an okay experience. read more

The ramen you get for your money is good. Unfortunately, the black garlic ramen was so different from all the other black garlic ramen's ever, it seemed wrong. The second order of ramen was the original ramen--that was a huge serving of ramen and very yummy egg with runny yolk, nicely done. BUT--At the end of eating, I could see the 1cm height of oil floating on the top of my bowl, this left an unpleasant feel afterwards. The staff was standard, took the order and brought the food soon. Wait wasn't long for a weekday lunch. The decor is clean and modern. It's the new replacement for Osaka Ramen. read more
I have been here two times now and both times I had pretty good ramen and good service. I've been looking for a good ramen place to be my go to on this side of the bay and I think this is it. I've tries the shiro ramen (original tonkostu) and shio (salt) ramen. Both came with a good amount of toppings and a lot of noodles. I've had to take leftovers home both times. I like that they have more than just the regular tonkostu most places have been serving lately. I will need to come back and try the shoyu ramen. read more

I came here by myself on a Saturday night after a gig. I ordered the Fujiwara Ramen and fried calamari; the calamari came out really quickly and the ramen came out shortly after. I really liked the calamari! It was perfectly cooked, the calamari was fresh, and the dipping sauce was really good. The ramen also did not disappoint - creamy and rich broth, chewy noodles, and flavorful chashu. The portions were also really generous, so I was super duper stuffed. It's a nice place to have dinner by yourself or with friends, and the waitstaff is really friendly and nice. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area! read more

Definitely not the first place I'd choose for ramen in the EB but also not a terrible option if you're in the area. Came Tuesday around 7:30pm and it was dead. Not surprising considering the area it's in and the day of week. AKA TONKOTSU (SPICY): 7/10 - noodles: you can choose between thick and thin. i got the thick noodles. they were decently al dente. not the worst showing. - egg: yay, you get an entire egg (which is more than i can say for some places) but it was a tad overcooked. not the biggest deal breaker but will also note that it was plain/unseasoned. no marinade of any sort, which i know matters to some. - broth: i have a high spice tolerance but this was arguably still mild at best. i added the spice powder they had on the table (the type you use for udon, so clearly not the same which muddled flavors). broth was rich, not nauseatingly so, but it created an unappetizing film on top if you didn't touch your bowl for a couple minutes. first time seeing that at a ramen joint. mine was also a tad on the colder side when it arrived. CHICKEN KARA-AGE: 6/10 - batter was pretty light but it had no seasoning so the chicken lacked flavor overall if you don't use the mayo We were the only table in the restaurant so of course service was decent. The waiters checked in and refilled waters regularly, not sure if that level of frequency would remain if they're busier. read more

Came here to give it a try because of the great reviews and I am disappointed actually as the ramen and broth was just another bowl of average eating. The noodle is nothing special and broth was so so. The egg was soft boiled which is great but lacking flavors. Overall it is nothing great to especially come back for, but good enough if I happened to be nearby to grab something quick without a line. read more

Came to Dublin with my family to visit my sister and found this place on yelp to appease their tastes for asian food. Didn't seem to be that many ramen places nearby so my expectations weren't that high. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the spicy ramen which came with a soft boiled egg (they call it tamago which is confusing because tamago is something else) and some pork slices. The pork was tender, and the egg was delicious. The broth wasn't too heavy and had good flavor but contained a giant plop of spicy sauce on the bottom. The flavor and texture of the sauce wasn't great so I avoided mixing it into the soup and it was fine. My family members liked their ramen too but wished there was more meat. Pretty decent place! Especially for the location. read more

I have to give Fujiwara a round of applause.. it's the best ramen I've had in a really long time, and by far the best I've had in the East Bay. I consider myself a bit of a ramen connoisseur. I've tried all the famous spots: HiroNori, Santouka, Orenchi, Ramen Nagi, Ramen Dojo to name a few. When I moved to the East Bay from San Jose, I was a bit heartbroken to move far away from the best ramen shops in the Bay Area... until I found Fujiwara! I ordered the Aka Tonkotsu, which seems to basically be their basic tonkotsu (pork) ramen broth, but with a side of hot chili oil. When you order, you can choose thick or thin noodles and add extra toppings as well. I chose thin noodles and I added an extra egg accidentally (it already comes with one) but I'm not mad about it: the eggs were perfectly cooked with a jammy center. The broth was super delicious, creamy and rich without being too salty or gritty. The hot chili oil was a nice touch on the side without being overly spicy. The thin noodles were perfectly cooked and slightly chewy. But by far the shining star was the pork belly. It's the best I've had at any ramen place, including the famous ones I mentioned earlier. They gave 2 thick slices which were extremely tender and flavorful, no tough pieces at all! Even more impressive is that I ordered it through Doordash, which can really compromise the quality of food. It didn't diminish it here (or maybe it's THAT good, that in person, it's even better if that's possible.) Everything was perfectly packaged and labeled, and the broth was still hot, even though I live 20 mins away. Best of all, the portion was so large that I had leftovers and those were amazing too. Can't wait to order again or try the restaurant in person! TL;DR go to Fujiwara, you won't regret it! read more

Ordered lunch for the very first time here (2 Black Garlic Ramens). It was okay... I was slightly disappointed. Their broth has a very different taste from other black garlic ramen I've had but it wasn't that bad. I would have given them 3 stars but I found this little plastic or aluminum piece that I thought was one of those mini seaweed strips. Definitely was not! Not a good first impression. read more

Great bowls of ramen with rich tasting broth! What an improvement over the previous ramen restaurant. The menu offers a better selection of ramen and dishes, plus their dishes are made well. We tried the Black Garlic Ramen and the Tonkatsu Ramen. Both had flavorful broth, chewy noodles, tender pork and a perfectly cooked egg. My husband did comment that the Black Garlic was just an added oil and wished there were garlic pieces. The chicken karage came with large chunks of crispy well seasoned chicken thighs. We really enjoyed the gyoza with perfect crispy bottoms. I prefer pan fried over completely deep fried dumplings. I like this ramen place and it's a great addition to the Ulfert Center! read more

A surprisingly decent ramen restaurant in Dublin! * * * EXPERIENCE * * * I really like the interior decorations that kind of gave me a Japanese anime feeling, a lot of attention to details like the wall paintings and curtains etc. Service was fast and sincere. * * * FOOD * * * Fried Octopus: B+ It tasted good, but I felt it was not crunchy enough and kind of on the soft side, the breading was pretty thick and it kind of out portioned the octopus. Fujiwara Ramen: A- According to the menu the soup was made with original pork broth with bonito fish dashi - I could definitely taste the bonito fish which added just a hint of bitterness without covering the tonkotsu base, it's obviously different from other ramen joints selling Tonkotsu based ramen. The egg noodles was on the medium-firm side, and the chashu was exceptionally good - it was marinated well and kind of sweet although the original pork taste was still there. The texture was perfect tenderness with slight grilled on the outside. The egg was well-seasoned and sort of sweet too. I have been spoiled by the ramen scene in the bay area, I typically don't go back to big names ramen restaurant coming from Japan like Mensho or Ramen Nagi, but those places usually have long lines and whenever I need a quick ramen fix, Fujiwara is definitely on top of the list. read more

Came here with a group of friends - it's a small/mid-sized restaurant, but it should be able to accommodate small groups. There's a middle section with some higher bar-type seating as well. It was fairly busy when we visited on a Friday evening, so we had to wait about 15 minutes outside. I love the simplicity of the menu! A handful of ramen options, some appetizers, and some drinks and dessert. It's additionally nice how you can choose the noodles (thick/thin) - my group was split between each option. I loved the thin noodles. I got the black garlic ramen here - while it was delicious in how overwhelming the garlic flavor was, the broth was also extremely heavy on the oil and richness and extremely filling (my friend was less able to stomach all the oiliness). The two pieces of cha-shu pork were also the fattiest pork I've ever had in any ramen bowl, though that meant it was also rather satisfying. (I can see how it would turn off others though.) The soft-boiled egg (a whole egg!) was perfectly done and amazing. In my opinion, it was also nice how the bowl wasn't filled with noodles - sometimes it gets overwhelming and tiresome for a lighter ramen eater like me. (There's also the option of extra noodles for $3, if it's not enough.) My boyfriend's fujiwara ramen (original pork broth with bonito dashi) was delicious and everything I wanted in soup and flavor - so much umami, with the savoriness of the dashi! I probably would opt for the fujiwara next time. Would definitely consider coming here again!! I'm glad this place opened up. read more

Decent ramen spot that just opened up in the Dublin / Pleasanton area. Since this place is new, there can be a bit of a wait if you go during the normal dinner / lunch hours, but (!) they do have a happy hour menu that is a little cheaper on weekdays. Parking - This is in the same plaza as a lot of other Asian restaurants, but there's lots of spaces both in front of and behind the building. Wait Times - We went on a Friday night and had to wait about 15 - 20 minutes for a party of two. The ramen did take a little while to come out, but the place is new and had lots of people in it. Seating - There's about 8 bar seats and 8 tables that seat parties of max 6. Food - The ramen was alright. Nothing super amazing. But, they do let you choose between "thin" and "thick" noodles, which are essentially the same size, but the thin noodles are white and the thicker noodles are the yellow egg noodles. read more

Finally!!! A good ramen place in Dublin/Pleasanton area!! I have been looking for a good ramen place in the area, but haven't found any one until Fujiwara open!! Love love love their black garlic. I can't eat too spicy. My friends love their spicy ramen. But all 6 of us agree that the soup base is the best of the area!! I can even see from the gap that ppl hand making the gyoza in the back. The owner told me that just the soup base itself takes them more than 7 hrs to make and cook. Love the fresh made and their wholehearted works for making good ramens. Ramen: The ramen was not bad, not too salty and had a good amount of meat and other ingredients like egg etc. This is definitely not a traditional Japanese ramen shop, but I thought the food was not bad. Kyoza: The kyoza was decent. The staff was kind enough to offer a replacement due to the over burnt. We thought it was still manageable, so declined it, but it was still nice of the employee. Service: Good service, the employees were nice. Price: $$ reasonable, ramen is around $13 and appetizers is roughy $7 and up. read more

I was thrilled that a new ramen restaurant opened up in Dublin because I'm a ramen lover. Overall, the noodles need to be a bit more firm, I will ask if they can do firm noodles next time. I've been mostly going to Jinya ramen for a quick ramen fix but this place seems more authentic and the portions are a little bigger as well. We ordered: Black garlic ramen - delicious rich broth with a strong garlic flavor. Only minor comment is that it was too oily. Next time I'll ask to see if they can put in less oil. Fujiwara ramen - good, had a slightly sweeter flavor because of the bonito dashi. Tonkatsu ramen - ok, the broth was not as tasty as the Fujiwara or black garlic. Would probably not get this one again. Fried octopus - nicely fried, would order again. read more
Came here for lunch and got the Shoyu ramen with thick noodles and gyoza to share. Our food came out quickly and the portion size was what I expected. Flavor wise, the broth didn't have as much depth as other restaurants, but I liked that it wasn't too salty. The gyoza was crispy and met expectations. Overall, a decent ramen spot in the same plaza as Koi Palace. read more

Hi, We do have our Shouyu (soy sauce) flavor ramen that's with chicken and bonito fish dashi broth. The topping does come with 2pcs of cha chu pork, but you can always order without it. Thanks!
