So lets just say that you are in Winter Park. And lets just say you can barely walk because you're not as young as you used to be and Drunken Frenchman has been especially rude to you today. And lets just say if you eat one more meal at Hernando's you will dream about being suffocated by customer decorated dollar bills. But you need a drink and food would be a nice bonus. Azteca is a really nice alternative. The staff is very attentive and friendly. And despite the menu being ridiculously large most everything is a solid A. The salsa has a bit of a kick as does the guac and the margaritas are very smooth. To be honest, I can only say that the first two are smooth, the last couple could have been donkey piss and I wouldn't know. So I guess my "smooth" comment is more like an homage to Lee Marvin (Google him - that's a funny joke). Overall its a nice change of pace from that basic fare in the Fraser valley - which is not known as a gourmand mecca. read more

Our dining experience is from the Winter Park location. We had a recommendation to try this from a source in the Denver area and happened to be in WP. Glad we stopped by as we have been on a quest to find good Mexican food in the SE burbs of the Metro area without much success in the past couple of years. I will echo the comments from the other highly rated reviewers. Prompt and attentive service, plenty of tasty chips with great salsa and the two dishes we had were both very good. The service is less than friendly, bordering on rude. The food is mediocre. Too many flies, in fact, the only flies I saw during my stay in Fraser were at Azteca. I kept having to wave my hand over the table to keep them away and I'm pretty sure the kitchen had even more flies, that weren't being waved away. read more

We had an excellent dinner here. The food is expertly prepared, service was quick and personable, the location is very homey and comfortable. The chips and salsa also come with a side of slaw/pico which is unusual and good. The Mrs. said the margarita was perfect. The tab for a full meal for two with drinks was in the mid $30s. read more

This place was literally right down the street from our air b&b.. so we were like awesome! I ordered the pozole & my hubs ordered this monster burrito with beef cooked in a red sauce inside. Both unfortunately lacked flavor.. like not enough spices! Their gold margarita was bomb though!! read more

Damn, this town needs some restaurants...I ate at a Pizza Hut out of sheer desperation! Azteca has good salsa and pico...hot chips and so-so entrees. I had Pork Carnitas that were decent. So, for the area I would give it 3 stars....but overall it's a solid 2. read more

This is the perfect place to visit when you are hungry. The portions are large, and upon being seated you will be greeted with chips, salsa and homemade pico that looks and tastes more like a spicy slaw. The service was also fast and friendly. Absolutely no complaints. The food itself was average-not especially flavorful or interesting, but the menu was HUGE, and in the restaurants defense, I ordered fajitas, which are not always the most flavorful. Our whole party of 4 left full and with plenty of leftovers, and the bill was very reasonably priced. read more

First off I've never written a review once in my life and I've never felt inclined to do so but I am so pissed off at this restaurant that I had to write a review. The service was terrible to start and the staff seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people there. It took forever for the food to come out and it tasted like shit. Not only that I have a deathly allergy to peanuts and I've read the menu 3 times front too back and nowhere does it fucking say that peanuts are in the fucking special sauce. Once I asked to make sure I wasn't just hallucinating and freaking myself out they said it did contain peanuts. Again I'd like to say nowhere in the menu does it even say they use peanuts and the only reason why I went to this shitty restaurant was Bc pepas fish tacos specified in their menu not to come they if you have a peanut allergy which made me even more pissed off but props to pepas. Once I started hiving up and my lips looked like a damn pufferfish all I got was the most nonchalant sorry and they even made me pay for the fucking peanut enchiladas and didn't say anything after that. Just stared at me as my reaction was seriously intensifying to where I had to leave the restaurant and had anaphylaxis (throwing up Bc of the reaction causing your throat and nose to close up so you can't breathe) because of the peanuts which are not mentioned anywhere in the menu. Whoever runs this shithole is a CUNT and has a nice ER bill coming their way! Too bad it makes me even put a star Bc it should be 0. IF YOU HAVE A NUT ALLERGY OR ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY DOES I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT COMING HERE. The food is shit anyways. read more

Heading home from Grand Lake, my wife and I stopped into Aztecta Mexican restaurant in Fraser. We had heard about this chain from some employees at Tequilas, so finally we broke up our drive and popped in. It is an unassuming place, with a patio a small bar area and a larger dinning area than expected. Great flavor on their salsa and their spicy slaw is more refined than (Not chunky-style) than other places. The food was great, they had a nice lunch menu (the regular menu is gigantic) and the grilled jalapeños were terrific. We tried the house margs on the rocks, no salt. They came out perfect. The green chile was flavorful, the burrito was massive and the flavors were great. Wonderful service, and a new chain will soon open up in Granby. They also have locations in Idaho Springs and in Louisville under the name "Casa Alegre". We will be heading to Louisville to try their sister property. When in Fraser, give it a try. read more

Delicious food and extremely generous portions at great prices! My husband and I ordered a giant chicken burrito to share. I wasn't expecting it to be GIANT. The sauce was really tasty. My son had the grilled chicken with veggies burrito. He didn't like the mushroom, but I thought the grilled mushroom was very tasty. Good food, but on the mild side. If you like a little heat I would advise asking for it. Their crispy version of chile rellenos were really good and I would go back just for those. A major plus is the cleanliness of the entire place, including the restrooms. Nothing special on service but I think we kept them from closing by arriving just before closing time on an otherwise dead night. They have gone to great lengths on some of the decor and on personalizing each table with apparently hand-cut graphics of their logo. read more

We had a late lunch with the kids and it was all fantastic. Enchilada combinations came hot, seasoned and very tasty. Chips and salsa to start. Salsa is potent and comes with a side of slaw. I was silly enough to think that the slaw would help with the heat. No Sir! It packed a serious punch which I actually enjoyed. The kids had taco/enchilada combos. They loved it. We had Enchilada Combos with Beef, Chicken and Cheese. So good that we actually ordered another portion and shared. The server was very nice and accommodating. We had a few requests that were not easy to accommodate, but he quickly gave us alternatives from the vast menu. Margaritas are huge and very good! read more

Me and My family attended on Sunday 01/10/21 right after snow tubing and of course we were all looking for some good Mexican food. However, we all were disappointment with everything. To begin with the service was not great it took about 30 minutes to get our drinks, when i asked for a side of guac and more chips it took another 15 minutes. When asked our server if we can get more drinks he responded with "I will get it when I can". We got our food almost an hour and a half later and it was not good at all the beans tasted bad and to top it off my daughter didn't get her plate granted they removed that from our bill but my daughter had to eat off mine and her dads plate (NOT GOOD AT ALL) definitely not going back! Superb service and delicious food. They had options to dine inside (6 ft apart) and outdoors. I didn't feel comfortable sitting inside so the waitress was super accommodating by allowing us to order food ahead of time and then wait for a table. Everyone's food was delicious. My husband got carne asada which was on point. I got chicken mole which was superb and a huge portion. Kids got quesadillas, tacos and tostada la grande and everyone loved their food. I ordered chicken fajitas, the flavor of the chicken was ok, but the $17 price tag seemed a bit high for the minimal amount of chicken on the plate. Great restaurant just up the road from downtown Winter Park. The food was delicious, and the wait staff super attentive. Go early, as they get very busy very quickly close to the dinner hour. Google maps took us to the wrong location first. I'm thinking they relocated. They are now just across Hwy 40 from the Safeway. - easy to find. Absolutely Awesome, is the best way to describe the food, service and prices. I had the Veggie burrito on the lighter side menu and it was fabulous. I've never had anything like it or as flavorful. Also saved room for their fried ice cream which was a perfect ending to a great meal. The server never lost focus on my simple 2 top party even as she was dealing with a few other table including a 15 top party. Very impressive and excellent personal service. read more
