This is my favorite restaurant in Grand County. I'm not sure why other people are complaining (didn't read any of the reviews); because I love it! Ouch for the harsh reviews! We came here after a day of skiing and had no complaints at all. The chips and salsas were yummy and never-ending, the margaritas were large, alcoholic, and affordable, and the service was attentive! We were all really happy with our meals; there was plenty of food all around. They have a huge menu with lots of options, including quite a few veggie ones. They also have a bunch of combination options, which always makes me happy :) I had two enchiladas and a relleno, which I mostly devoured, much to my belly's chagrin. In an area where most of the restaurant are overpriced tourist joints or cheap chains, Azteca is an unexpected surprise! read more

My husband and I stopped there after considering KFC across the street, so happy we chose this place, it was the best Mexican food I have had in a very long time. Weird considering we just came back from Mexico. The service couldn't have been better! I strongly recommend giving this place a try, I would be very surprised if you didn't love the place. Awful! We stopped in for a late lunch and asked to sit outside, shortly after we sat down it started to lightly rain, we asked to sit inside and the lady who buses the tables was extremely rude and acted like we were in the wrong even though there were only 3 other families in the restaurant at the time. This is where it started- the buser rudely reset our table tossing the silverware wrapped in napkins across the tables, they let us know that being ONLY 2 separate families they weren't going to split the check‍?, there was NOTHING authentic about their flavorless food. They did their very best to add the VERY least amount of green chile they could so they could at least say it was somewhere on the plate. I had to stop in to see why this place is busy everyday and honestly I can't understand why. I got the mexican pizza and chicken en mole. The pizza was just a mess of overcooked seafood and cheese. The mole had to be bbq sauce because it didn't taste like chocolate like it should. The margaritas are very strong and come in an extremely heavy glass, difficult to drink. The chip and salsa were good but the chips tasted slightly of burnt fryer grease. Overall, save your money and eat somewhere else. read more

Wow, what happened? We have been coming for years. This place used to have our favorite burritos; chicken and roasted veggies like carrots, cauliflower, etc. Tasty and fresh. However, on our last visit the food took a tremendous downturn. Instead of fresh tasting roasted veggies the burrito contained some clearly sub par frozen versions that were soft and boiled rather than the fresh carmelized versions we loved. The chicken was also downgraded. Altogether a pitiful relative of the burrito we used to crave. Additionally, the service was not good. We saw our waitress twice, once to take our order and once to give us our check. Owners please take note. It is all in the details and customers notice. Take a cue from Chipotle. Finally, the salsas and chips still rock. read more

Been here twice, once with the hubs on a romantic getaway and once with the kids. Both times we received great service and really good food. The soda portions are huge, bottomless chips and slaw to die for. Also the chicken I got was fantastic. Kids were happy with quesadillas and pizza fries. Didn't have alcohol, so can't comment on that, but service is always great. read more

I love to mountain bike in the Experimental Forest outside of Fraser and end a day on the trails with some amazing combos of authentic Mexican food. This place has a great outside eating area with views of the beautiful rockies. I love Mexican food- and this place is top notch for me. read more

We've eaten at several of their locations. If you're in Grand County you really should try Azteca's instead of the other locations. Good food, good service, family owned. I've never had any trouble w service at any of the locations - fast, friendly, and good food at a decent price. So the best way to describe Azteca is this.....its your standard Mexican joint. Like the kid in school who consistently gets C pluses, he's not impressing anyone, but he's still going to pass. Azteca is that kid. If you have a major hankering for Mexican while you're in Winter Park, it'll do the trick. Just don't expect anything to knock your socks off. read more

Where do I start? Both the food and service are sub-par. The salsa tastes like they just added taco seasoning to tomato juice. We had to remind the server several times just get napkins and more chips. Once we ordered, he had to come back and tell us that certain items were no longer available. I was hoping the food would save the experience, but I was sadly mistaken. I ordered a pulled pork burrito that was not pulled (just hunks of pork), and although it tasted ok, it smelled like literal feces which obviously turns you off from the taste. The black beans tasted like they were poured out of a can and microwaved. I would not go back nor recommend to a friend out of fear of losing that friend's trust. read more

The vegetarian options here are so great my husband and I went here two nights in a row on a recent mountain getaway. You aren't stuck with a bean burrito and huevos rancheros as your only vegetarian options. I ordered the spinach and mushroom enchiladas and was blown away. Even the rice and beans here have way more flavor than your typical Mexican restaurant. I also avoid gluten and dairy, and the staff was very accommodating. The prices are quite reasonable and the service was nice. We'll definitely be back here next time we're up in Fraser. read more

This was a great option just outside of Winter Park. It wasn't too busy when we went. The service was killer! We had fajitas and they were amazing. Very well marinated. Very average Mexican food with slow service. Don't get me wrong the food isn't bad, but nothing stands out as excellent. We were seated immediately but then forgotten about for 10 minutes. Then we had chips and salsa and waited another 10 minutes to order our drinks from another waiter because ours was busy. Our waiter finally came with our drinks and we ordered our meal. This place has really Great burritos and salsa but really bad service. I Wouldn't recommend coming here if you have a group bigger than 4.

It's just not Mexican food. My wife and I didn't finish the food it was horrible. The chips and salsa was I guess ok.

As far as food goes, it's not terrible, but it misses the point on every other aspect. There was one small salsa to share amongst a group of 5, checks cannot be split for groups larger than 4, and gratuity is automatically added in (quickest way to snub yourself out of a large tip). read more
