It took over an hour (70ish minutes) to get our food. Then our 6 meals came out over a period of ten minutes. The first meals looked like they had been under a heat lamp for awhile including filmy green chili. The first batch of tacos that came out were squishy from being made awhile before they came out. My burrito was on a scolding plate but luke warm. The shrimp cocktail had a lack of shrimp which were overcooked and chewy. One of the beef enchiladas was partially Carnitas. All of our water glasses and the pitcher they gave us to fill them sat empty for the last 20 minutes we waited for our food. I rarely of ever complain and when I mentioned my food being cold be offered to reheat it. I didn't feel like waiting any longer so ate it warm just so we could leave. This wasn't my first visit here, I keep hoping it will be tolerable. The best part about this place is the cabbage slaw with chips, stop at that. This was their last chance. No interest in returning. The food is fine but the server was RUDE beyond measure. We were overcharged for our meal and when questioned, he basically told us it wasn't his problem. Now that Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen, it's hard for one to really stand out in my mind. Azteca is delicious! Their homemade salsa and Mexican cole slaw are fantastic. Very reasonably priced- clean but small dining room. On a busy night, it'll get pretty loud and crowded in there but that's because it's the best Mexican food around. I've been to the one in Erie and it just doesn't taste the same as the one in Fraser. Carne Asada is off the charts good as well as Chile Relleno and enchiladas! Of course margaritas have to be brought up- don't go for one of the pre-mixed ones (gross). Order a hand made one- trust me, it's worth the little extra! read more

As far as food goes, it's not terrible, but it misses the point on every other aspect. There was one small salsa to share amongst a group of 5, checks cannot be split for groups larger than 4, and gratuity is automatically added in (quickest way to snub yourself out of a large tip). read more

One day I would have considered a higher rating for Azteca, however, the second experience tanked it! Four of us came off the mountain the first day for tasty margaritas and good service. The next day's experience was quite different. We were back with six people, money in hand, and were treated disrespectfully by, of all people, the owner. The food ended up being below par and they insulted us with a switch up on the margaritas.... we outright saw their feeble attempt to remake the "specialty version" of the drink with the original bottom-shelf ingredients after we specifically asked for the version we had the day before. As if we wouldn't know the difference? And, nearly laughable, the manager on duty had to call the owner for permission (which was denied) to add a side of mole sauce at an upcharge. We were willing to pay and just wanted the food! Needless to say, the owner lost a sizeable tab on that go round and a good rating. I'd encourage you to stay at Winter Park resort and go to Lime. Came here with high hopes since the locals recommended it.... there was a waiting line at the door but since it was just my husband and I we were seated right away at about 6:30 pm. Our server was professional and kind but forgot to list the items that were no longer available before taking our order so I had to quickly change my mind. After one and half hour of wait our food had not showed up while numerous parties that were seated after us received their food. THAT's when I started to get seriously upset!!!! They messed up the order in the kitchen.... 10 other tables were served before us!!!!! I was hoping for the food to be extra delicious and worth the 1 1/2 hr wait....... well NOT SO MUCH. I would rate it less than average Mexican food , probably close to fast food and not freshly made. This Mexican restaurant was a highly disappointment, I would NOT recommend it if you are a foodie like myself and my better half!!! I do not mind waiting for freshly prepared food...... but what I was served WAS NOT freshly prepared!!!! You are better off going to Taco Bell or TACO BUENO will serve you much faster and it will be made to order. I will not go back to this Mexican restaurant. read more

We have been to Azteca many times since we have a home nearby. Tonight we came early (4:45), since we had kids with us. We were seated quickly, but waited over an hour to get our food. There was a large party that was seated before us, so I understand that the kitchen may have been backed up, but someone should have said something to us. Instead we had to flag our waiter down to find out when our food would be coming. I expected the manager to apologize or discount our meal, but that did not happen. Very disappointed with a recent visit. The food was marginal, the restaurant was noisy and we were seated near the restrooms.

Food was pretty good, but didn't blow me away like our friends had told us it would. They had a 36 oz Margarita but even that just tasted okay. We tried several different things (enchiladas, tacos, chili rellano, and tamales) and everything was good but not great. They had several different kids options and service was good. Service is definitely on a downhill spiral. I gave up the place for an entire year after horrible service, but thought I would try it again as I was hoping they would possibly have better service. It took over a hour to get an order of nachos and watched two other parties get their food before us. The waiter knew he screwed up and didn't put in our order and then finally commented and said oh just a few more minutes. When dropping off the check I asked if we get a free drink for forgetting our order and he just laughed. No discount or compensation for his mistake-we should have just left.
