Meh. Food was surprisingly bland. Not much flavor to it at all. I had the chicken quesadillas, and nothing about it seemed like a chicken quesadilla other than the fact there was flour tortilla on the outside, and completely flavorless chicken on the inside. Supposedly there was cheese in there, but I have my doubts. Blended fruit margaritas tasted like they came from a powdered drink mix. It was overall inferior and wasn't even particularly inexpensive. We really loved our food tonight. My husband liked his Pancho Villa fajitas tonight. I had what has become my usual enchiladas with chicken and their fabulous tomatillo sauce. We brought a ski club group of 30 people to Don Julio's for dinner. The service was fast and friendly, the food was hot and delicious, the orders were all correct, and the prices were very reasonable. We highly recommend Don Julio's if you're in Fraser and looking for great Mexican food. read more

OMG we stopped in to this restaurant on Wednesday 4/23/25 & my husband ordered fajitas....there were 3 or 4 combos of fajitas on the menu (I.e. beef & chicken, shrimp "& ?) so my husband said he just wanted chicken only, meaning just chicken fajitas (our definition of fajitas include peppers, onions, etc.) So the waiter brought the hot fajita pan with just dry chicken pieces . We both just stared in disbelief! No peppers no onions, etc. like a normal fajita dish!!! I ordered a chicken taco & out came a dry chicken taco with a few onions on it & a tiny little cup of green salsa which was about the equivalent of about 1 teaspoon ! My husband did get a plate that had sour cream, a little bit of beans & runny guacamole? Anyhow, my husband tried to eat the dry chicken pieces & asked for salsa to go with it...so out comes a small cup of salsa....bigger than my taco salsa, but more like 4 tablespoons worth. We asked the waiter what happened to the fajita peppers, onions, etc. & he said I thought you just wanted chicken !!!!!!!!! And you guessed it...we were charged full price for the fajitas & an extra $1.38 for the little cup of salsa that should have been included with the dry chicken to begin with ! Pretty ridiculous! Needless to say, NOT a good dining experience!!! We won't be going back there again!!!! Very sad! read more

Do not go here if you have allergies. no substitutions. if you have gluten allergy as I do you cannot even swap for corn tortilla. plus it is a bit dark and depressing. This is an underrated place with great food and attentive servers. Their daily specials are amazing and you can't beat the margaritas.

We brought a group of 10 high school kids and sitting in 3 separate booths. We were told that it was "too hard" for the server to give separate checks. When asked for clarification "too hard" meant it would take "too long". There was only 1 other table occupied by 3 men. It wasn't like they were slammed. To top it off they charged me 20% for a party of 6 and the food was sub par... and service was rude, slow, and put out. read more

This is crazy! I got harassed by another customer as the worker is standing at the table of that customer. The worker had to hold the man back from coming at me and when he got kicked out he waited at the car for me to come out and when I told the owner that I felt scared he said "well if something happens then you can call the cops" I asked them about it and they said it was fine and they didn't have control over their drunk customers. The food here is solid. The tortas were huge and fairly priced. I would have preferred if the frank/sausage was seared a little bit for some crunch. The onions would have been better grilled opposed to raw. The food alone I would give a 4/5. I didn't like the extra charge for using a credit card, just seems a little nickel and dimey in this day and age. The bathroom also was not clean as others have mentioned. This was the worst experience of our trip by far. The torta was horrible. It must have been 3 day old bread! The burrito was average at best and the calamari was brought out cold. Obviously frozen and not fresh. They were out of most everything and the wait staff was horribly rude. To top it all off "Julio" was the rudest "owner" I have ever encountered. Copped and attitude instead of owning the poor quality. They both proceeded to insult me when I expressed my dissatisfaction. I paid what I owed. But will never return. I am all about keeping it local and supporting local business. But this place doesn't deserve the support. DO NOT GO HERE! Do not wast your hard earned money. Oh man, the first time we went to Julio's was at least 4 years ago and hands down, best, fresh, cheap, breakfast burrito in Grand County. Perfect to get through a day of skiing or a long morning. Today, however, we had a completely different experience. They've remodeled and added on so the restaurant is bigger instead of the little food counter they had before. Now it has a bar. They charge for chips and salsa. Who does that? We ordered the "queso dip" and just typing that makes me nauseous. It looked like a white poop emoji and it tasted pretty much how it looked. Just thinking of it makes me want to be sick. We ordered a kid's quesadilla to go since we were in a hurry to catch the bus. I can just say I blew 18 bucks on complete crap. When the salsa was brought out it looked like tomato paste, and then the guacamole was even more soupy! I never write reviews but this restaurant deserves one. SO good. Everyone in our group devoured and loved their food, the food along with the dessert was a 20/10. Maybe the best Mexican food i've ever had. The service was great, always making sure we were okay and asking if we needed anything. He even recommended us some activities to do while we were in town. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas, everything about it was delicious but ESPECIALLY the chicken and tomatillo salsa. Slight warning on their hot salsa tho, it is SPICY. I have a very high spice tolerance and that salsa had me sweating but it was delicious. For dessert, i recommend their flan, it's so creamy and sweet but not overly sweet. I was very disappointed in the food and attitude of our server/bartender. He acted like it was a hassle to have to take our order or even answer questions and it wasn't even busy (three tables with customers). Also, I have never been to a Mexican restaurant, where I had to pay for chips and salsa. This restaurant seems to want to charge for every little thing. The chili relleno was soggy and the green chili had no flavor and was runny, pretty sure the refried beans were from a can. This place is the epitome of hole in the wall dining. We were coming in from denver and found amazing choices for a late lunch. They had typical choices and prepared them with super fresh ingredients. I had the veggie tostadas. Mind blown! They start with a homemade shell. It's topped with beans, a medley of cheeses, then veggies galore. Finally guacamole with tomatillo sauce seals the deal. It's a flavor fiesta for your mouth! Server added 20% gratuity and did not saying anything, even when the party size was less than 6, per menu requirements for automatic gratuity. After we said something, he refused to take it off and caused a huge scene by yelling and cursing at us. The owner was there and did absolutely nothing about it. If you're coming from out of town and want to enjoy a nice dinner, you would be better off going to Wendy's in the parking lot. This place was so gross. Woof, where to start... Were in the Fraser area and had a hankering for a Mexican breakfast. Saw the several 5-star reviews and thought lets give it a run. We were so hungry that I missed a lot of red flags. First, no one else was there. Second, it wasn't until we sat down that we realized the place was FILTHY. It looked like there was a party the night before and they never cleaned up the tables. Chip crumbs, dirty napkins, etc dotted nearly every table. When we left, I noticed that the laminate flooring was separated in numerous spots, exposing the padding underneath. Seriously, just a mess. Service was attentive and nice enough. Food was pretty sub par. My chorizo con huevos was pretty bland, while my wife's huevos rancheros was swimming in watery sauce. At least her pico was half way decent. Both our refried beans were room temp or colder. I don't know how one can think 5-stars. Maybe it is a party spot and breakfast is not the time? But still, basic things were well ignored. Perhaps dinner is the time to go, but I couldn't bring myself to come back. If the front was that messy, I can't imagine what the kitchen is like.
