If you want a fun break from skiing, this is it! The simulators are new and there is plenty of room. Good drinks and service!

Good spot to watch sports games too, they have a lot of TVs around. Ordered the double ditch burger with onion rings, and a house marg. The burger was awesome. Definitely messy and was falling apart by the last few bites, but well worth it. The green chiles were a nice touch for some flavor and heat but not overpowering. Definitely filling and the move after a long ski day. The onion rings were good too - nice and crisp. The marg was strong and a fair price. Overall had a great experience here and would recommend and return.

He acted like he hated tourist, which I am sorry but probably your money maker. The second time we arrived and saw it was him, I was like oh great. he started off snarky but as we ordered more food and drinks and relaxed and actually because really nice to us by the time we left. If the weather is nice enough I suggest sitting on the patio. They have a gorgeous view and plenty of seating. We tried the Juantons and they are served with their spicy green chile. It was too spicy for me so we got a side of queso and it was perfect for dipping in. I would get these again. The margs are good here too. Pretty strong.

I originally left a review after a terrible experience at Stoney's about a month ago. Disorganized,…read morelong waits, no system, and staff that could not care less. That part alone earned the review. What happened next is where it goes from bad to embarrassing. Within a day of posting that review, two of their employees, people who have never done business with my company, decided the appropriate response was to go leave fake negative reviews on my business, McAfee Electric. Not a misunderstanding. Not a coincidence. Straight retaliation. So I updated my review with screenshots showing exactly what they did and reached out to management multiple times to give them a chance to fix it. Instead of addressing it, they doubled down. I was told my review was "emotionally based" and that I should be ashamed for including screenshots that show their employees' names and the reviews they chose to post publicly. Think about that for a second. Their employees publicly post fake reviews, and somehow I am the problem for documenting it. That tells you everything you need to know about how this place operates. Bad service is one thing. Every business has an off day. But retaliating against a customer's livelihood and then trying to spin it as the customer being "emotional" is next level unprofessional. If this is how they handle criticism, imagine how they handle anything that actually matters. Plenty of places in Winter Park that know how to run a restaurant and act like professionals. This is not one of them.

We came to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Donna and Brian were so thoughtful and professional. They made sure we had everything we needed and wanted for our stay. Breakfast each morning was so delicious. Donna could have made it as a professional chef! We stayed in a dog friendly cabin, what fun to bring along our pup! Cabin was cozy, warm and the snow was shoveled each day for us.

The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.
