A Frame was a great, although accidental find! We were headed to another place for drinks before dinner and didn't realize that it was located inside the Winter Park bubble. So, no parking pass meant we stopped at A Frame instead. And, seriously, best decision ever. As soon as you walk in, you know this place is different. We came in during the winter holidays and loved the decorations, the small touches and the festive space. Think minimal elegance with a chill vibe. We headed to the bar and enjoyed some really well made craft cocktails. Staff were awesome - really friendly, attentive and shared some laughs with us. While we only had drinks (that were soooo good!), we were already bookmarking A Frame to return for dinner. If our cocktails were any indication of what's to come, we're in. read more

We absolutely loved this place - both the stay in the cabin and the restaurant were amazing. Its a little pricey for a night but very worth it because you get so much space to yourself and access to the amenities. The restaurant food was awesome - we got the charcuterie, burger and lamb pasta then finished the night with the cookie skillet which was my personal favorite. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home and the ambiance inside was so cozy, a perfect spot for winter. This is a review on the grill only. The service was slow and unprofessional. One of our kids burgers came out frozen. The staff was rude when we told them and then microwaved the same burger and brought it back out. They never apologized for the error. We also ordered the (not good) $45 charcuterie, and asked for more crackers three times. An hour later, they finally arrived with four tiny crackers and charged us $5 extra for them. The salad portion was quite small for the price and had no flavor. Staff was very unhelpful and apathetic. I believe the restaurant was understaffed the night we were there, but for the price of the food/drink, no one apologized or explained what was going on. For what this restaurant charges, there is a ton of improvement needed on the dining and staff experience. We were super disappointed because the grill came recommended by a friend. We will never go back and would not recommend to anyone visiting Winter Park. read more

Winter Park has been waiting for a spot just like this! Elevated dining with a super cool vibe. The mid-century mod decor is super cool and cozy. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. The food, while pricey, is very good; I think you get what you pay for here. We had the bison past, steak, french onion soup, wedge salad, and the baked feta. We probably didn't need the feta because you get a LOT but it was super tasty. The drinks were decent but I would say a little small. We received coup glasses that were about half way full. Overall, I will be back for cozy mountain vibes! read more

I love steak. I love my family. Both were surrounding me at my fabulous dinner table tonight. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve but I already feel spoiled with goodies and treats thanks to A Frame Club! Although there is such a thing as too much fun because too much fun is what killed Bruce Lee. My beautiful family and I arrived at an epic conversation pit style table and immediately perused their delicious cocktails to wet and set our appetites. And ladies let me say mine was set. I got the Midnight Ryder to drink. Not only do I love whiskey but I adore drinks that are served up. ESPECIALLY in a coup. It was just my personality but sippable. I got the NY Strip with the fabulous recommendation of creamy mushroom sauce. I love mush! And shrooms! Tomorrow I am going skiing and I feel like the amount of steak I ate will give me enough energy to bounce back off my behind when I fall down. I think Bruce Lee would feel the same way. The smoky gin cocktail raised me out of my grave. No notes. Our server was friendly, helpful, and laid back! I would have appreciated more goat cheese on my burger. The caesar salad dressing transported me to another dimension, I ordered more for my fries. Had a nice dinner with friends at the Saloon in the A Frame Club, while visiting Winter Park. We had a large group of 11, so they seated us in their private dinning area. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, so we recommend a reservation ahead of time. It's very nicely decorated with a retro-modern, cozy vibe. We started off with drinks and most enjoyed a cocktail. The old fashion was delicious and a group favorite. For food we tried a little bit of everything. A few of the favorites were the Baked Feta, NY Strip, and one of the salads. We really wanted the French Onion Soup, but unfortunately it was sold out. I'd say the menu is more on the upscale, so it may be hard for those picky eaters to find something, but we made it work for our group. The food took some time to come out, so make sure to order a few apps and enjoy the company! read more

We have had the worst experience at the A frame club for Christmas Eve. I will never return. After making a reservation weeks early the management called the day of our reservation and changed it from 7:15 to 8 p.m. They tried to tell us the reservation was for 7:45, which was not true. We sat down at 8:10 our first course was served 45 minutes later. The main course finally showed up around 9:30. When we ordered dessert they were out of most choices, as this was a pre fix menu we had already paid for dessert. It is now 10:15 and the few desserts that were left are finally arriving. Our waiter was wonderful, so we are not really sure what the problem has been. We were given a discount. But only after complaining. The management should have been on top of the problem . I know people have eaten here and had a good meal, this was a huge disappointment read more

This review is for the restaurant, not the hotel. Jan-March 2023: 4 very good meals shortly after they opened and continuing through the ski season. Kids food, salads, appetizers, entrees -- everything was delicious! These were all solid 4+ star meals. July 2023: super disappointing and obvious that something has changed in the kitchen. The menu still sounded good but the salad was swimming in dressing and didn't look or taste fresh; the kids chicken fingers were no longer fresh and delicious but looked like they were straight out of the freezer; and the entrees were not good -- veggies were over sauced and over cooked, as were the fish/meats. Now it's barely 2 stars and we won't be back unless/until they make a change. I confirmed with the waitress that they did change their chef :( Super bummed that this new favorite to town fell down in quality so fast. read more

This review is just for the cabins as we didn't eat in the Saloon. We were mesmerized by this adorable cabin. It was lovely and comfortable. Be aware the stairs to the loft (with the bed and a bit oddly, the soaking tub) were more like a carpeted ladder. It was a little nerve-racking especially at night having to use the bathroom downstairs. My young adult daughter actually fell down them once, it was an awful sound but more like a slide and all as fine but do make sure everyone in your party is comfortable going up them or okay using the pull out sofa downstairs. I believe there were ADA options too. I wish they had used one of the cabins for a general area like laundry, ice, vending etc. but all in all a beautiful and fun, different option. I'm so extremely sad at how downhill A Frame has gone. We are "locals" and spend most winter up in Winter Park, with a few summer visits. This used to be one of our favorite spots but unfortunately after this last visit it will be a while before we return. The menu has completely changed and a lot of the classics are gone (midnight Ryder cocktail, burger, campfire banana split), not to mention the quality is absolutely not the same. The burger used to be amazing, this time it tasted like they went to McDonalds and picked it up. The cocktails used to be fabulous, this time they were just off and odd tasting (way to bitter and unproportionate). Everything is ala carte now as well, which if that's going to be the case the quality and the portions better be right which was not the case. Last summer the patio vibes were so fun! Live music, fun cocktails, this year nothing. It's just so sad. Service seemed confused and had Jo clue how to pace a nice dinner. We waited over an hour for fried chicken and a burger. Apparently there is a new chef, with new vibes and my advice to the owners would be to not mess with a good thing. At this rate you'll never make it through ski season. I'm hopeful this can return but not without some changes. read more

Attended a wedding at A Frame Club this July. Due to their incompetence, the ceremony had to be moved from their grass area to the parking lot! The wedding party had to put down yellow tape at steps to avoid risks. We were very lucky it did not rain. They were very ill equipped to do a wedding. Our group had a great experience for dinner. We started with the polenta fritters and tuna tartar. Our group had the mushroom entree, dry aged strip, short rib and bison pasta, French onion soup and a couple of salads. All of it was fantastic. It was one of the best meals we've had. We tried to stay three nights in the A frame, it didnt work for us, the coffee service was instant coffee made with hot water and served in a tin cup, a huge insult to anyone who likes coffee in the morning, the fully equipped kitchenette had no pots or pans, no way to even fry an egg, or boil water, I can live without a dishwasher, i can live with a two burner range top, but the ridiculous tiny refrigerator would not hold anything important. So the place is cool at a glance, but the cabins are cheaply made and kind when you buy cheap IKEA stuff, and it never lines up. They run discounts and claim it is for all their cabins, but they put you in the ones facing the parking lot, not the river, claiming they were full, yet there were about five cars in the parking lot, and a bunch of the cabins were noticeably empty. On the second night of our stay, the whole cabin was shaking from the Apres party, with about ten people attending with a speaker system for about 500 people. We tried to talk to someone in the office, but we never saw anyone; you were told to call this number, and when you call it, it goes to the bar. The bartender said, and I quote, "I am just a bartender. What do you want me to do about it?" finally, after sitting on hold, I physically moved to a quieter cabin location, which was suddenly open. A-frame is a fake hip, very expensive place as when you take a closer look, it is just cheap. read more
