Woo, okay this is going to be a long one.... Bluebird bistro was a rollercoaster ride, starting with a frustrating welcome. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate our group of (14). The "helpful" person on the phone offered two options: 1. We could be seated separately at different tables right away OR 2. Wait about an hour for one large table. We decided to go with option 1. Arrived at the restaurant just 5 mins later (we were literally already down the road), only for that exact person to tell us when arriving a completely different story. She claimed that we didn't call her back to let her know we were on our way... ? .... Therefore she had no wait time for us and didn't know how long it'll be.. uh? Ok? We were all confused, and frustrated. As we talked amongst ourselves in the waiting area, we decided we were going to take our business elsewhere..... well what do you know suddenly a table was ready for us. At this point, it was getting late, chilly and hangry. We decided to stay and give it a try. And honestly I'm happy we did because we were blessed with a waitress named Kendra, who was phenomenal! Kendra transformed our experience, her service was top-notch. When a few people in our group were not happy with their drinks/orders, she quickly took the items off the check and brought out replacements. I had ordered the elote nachos, and they arrived without queso, instead of just bringing a side of cheese, Kendra took the entire plate back and returned with a fresh, hot order made correctly. Let's talk FOOD: Honestly it was mostly a hit. My margarita pizza was delicious. the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the balsamic drizzle was a perfect touch. The others in our group were happy with their pizzas, wings, burgers, and steaks. Even the kids seemed pretty happy with their basic chicken fingers and fries( lol ) .... I was told the only miss were the fish tacos, which were on the dry side, and my elote nachos. While the nachos were good, they didn't have much of the classic "elote" I was hoping for like the crumbles of cheese, sauce etc... Overall, it was a decent spot, and thanks to Kendra, our meal/experience was really SAVED. We love dining at the Blue Bird! I have Celiac disease and often find it difficult to safely enjoy eating in restaurants with my friends & family. The Bluebird offers several gluten-sensitive options, and the friendly staff and chef are well-informed about gluten-free precautions, which makes it a welcoming choice for those with dietary restrictions. Their BBQ is exceptional! A few small changes could make the Blue Bird even more Celiac-friendly. Adding a dedicated fryer or a commercial-grade air fryer for gluten-free fries, wings, and corn chips, as well as a small commercial pizza oven to prepare gluten-free pizzas in a separate space, would be fantastic. A dedicated toaster for gluten-free buns would also help ensure they're served warm and fresh. We'd love to see the menu expand with a daily gluten-free entree special, gluten-free soup options, and even Holidaily gluten-free beer, brewed locally in Golden. Blue Bird has so much potential to be a go-to spot for the gluten-free community, and we look forward to seeing it grow! read more

Our last evening in Granby Colorado we decided for take-out from Bluebird Bristol. My husband said our order was ready as soon as he walked into the cafe, waitress was very accommodating and polite. According to my husband the restaurant was very clean, open & spacious. The food was great, the French dip was very juicy, the nachos were loaded & plentiful. Bluebird Bistro exceeded our expectations! I'm so glad I didn't have breakfast and wanted lunch in between runs in the mountain. My guy wasn't hungry but when we spied a burger headed to another table, he was open to sharing said burger with me. This burger, y'all. So good. This burger was cooked to order and seasoned well - it was also thick and juicy. And the fries. Fresh oil, medium crisp and thick. Yummy. The wait staff were friendly, approachable and even though they were slammed, still made time to chat off and on with us. Def check out the Bluebird Bistro. Even if you don't snowboard or ski, go. Staying at Mountainside neaby. Decided to order takeout. Bartender was helpful & friendly taking orders, and food came out quickly. Tried the French dip (super yum, nice pile of meat, great au jus), fish & chips (a huge piece of fish, nice and crunchy, good flavor, a little dry but still tasty) and the bbq platter (very tasty and a lot of meat). Will definitely be back. PS. They can sell bottles of wine if they open it first. PPS. If you like an interesting pinot noir, ask to take the Arrogant Frog. Love a good light pinot! read more

Bluebird Bistro is formerly the Granby Ranch Grill located at the base of Granby Ranch Ski Area. There is indoor dining, but it's limited due to Covid precautions....level yellow currently. This means that at peak times you may wait 40 minutes to be seated. You can order at the window and find a table outside or go to the other non- table service restaurant upstairs. At least you have options. Pricing is relatively high because it's a ski area....but, think about sharing if you are going back out to ski! I like the choices on everything except the salads: For a restaurant this creative with their other food, the salad choices are kind of blah! However, we have had several things when we have been here. The first time we each had our own barbecue sandwich with a massive amount of fries that we could not finish. It was very good, but would split that next time at $22 per entree. The next time, we ordered pizza, the pizza called the "yard sale". They have a great pizza oven and these are big sellers! They allowed us to swap out red onion for mushrooms and we were really happy with our choice. The next time we split nachos at $14, perfect amount for both of us, and we went back out to ski! The nachos had a green chili queso combined with BBQ brisket, sliced thin. It was a generous amount! The queso had a medium kick, and was perfect. Although it looks heavy, it was a much lighter dish than the sandwich with fries and the pizza. This may be my go-to! Bluebird bistro has craft cocktails as well: we enjoyed the Log Cabin. It was an old fashioned with a strong cinnamon flavor, suspect it had a syrup since it was a little sweeter than a regular old fashioned. They call it an old fashioned with winter spice! We actually did not get a chance to eat there. We had a reservation for this evening: I made it two weeks ago. We pulled up this evening, ready for the prime rib they had advertised...and the place was dark. I called and it went to vm, but the vm assured us they were open and just busy serving customers. I finally found an employee that was off duty and asked where the Bistro was. Her response: "they closed for the off season last weekend". No update to their website, no changing their voicemail. I ordered a Wagyu burger cooked medium. When it came, it was definitely not medium. I should have sent it back, but went ahead and ate it. I'm not sure it was even cooked to medium rare or rare specs. By the time I got home, I was experiencing all of the symptoms you would expect after consuming undercooked beef. Lemonade tasted like water. Cheese pizza was crazy spicy for no good reason. Chilli tasted like Huntz from a can. Even the waitress knew the food was terrible and made fun of the cook. Live music outside drew us to this place for dinner after a day of mountain biking. We were glad we came! The friendly staff seated us quickly, and didn't rush us as we ordered and ate.
