Where do I even begin??? First off it says reservations are suggested. Absolutely FALSE! It's not that good and there were plenty of seats. You could even sit at the bar......if you wanted to get sucked into a conversation with a middle aged man that was drunk, baseball hat bill flipped up like he's 18. Oh yeah and he's recently divorced. How do I know all this???? Because he was louder that SHIT, drunk and seated 40' away from me. None of the staff told him to quiet down, NOPE, just kept serving him mimosas. Know I know why he was divorced. Good for the ex-wife!!! Let's get to our waitress.....Marie. Holy hell! She came over and took our drink order, probably high! We ordered drinks and she forgot about us. It took 20 minutes for us to get our drinks and they were delivered by the busboy. She came back 10 minutes after we got our drinks and said....."where did we leave off?" Are you FU@KING KIDDING ME???? Once we reminded the stoner that all we have is drinks and we were ready to order she pulled out her digital ordering pad. First thing we ordered they were out of. Great, she even recommended it? I'm thinking to myself, how the hell did we land the female Spicoli as our waitress??? Shit! Whatever we order, she ain't getting it right. Every time I visit Colorado I have to find Green Chili - and I think I might have found one of the best at Brickhouse. It's very unique and absolutely delicious- perfect in every way. Highly recommended après-ski (or rodeo). read more

Things I loved: *the space! It was open and lovely and modern and really welcoming inside. Tons of different seating options. *the menu -- it was relatively small and I LOVE THAT! Show me what you not only can do, but what you do WELL. Lots of fun options on here. *welcoming staff member. Super friendly and helpful. *it was open on a Monday when so many other places (in Grand Lake) were closed. My husband got the fish and chips and they were phenomenal. The dipping sauce was sooooo good as was the coleslaw! The fish was cooked perfectly and the breading on the fish was wonderful. 10/10 I got the bbq pork tacos and I think my meal stole the show. The medley of flavors between the pork, the bbq sauce, the corn, the crema, and the coleslaw?!? Party in your mouth! Stupid good!!!! 10/10 Things I didn't love: *Pepsi products instead of Coke. (That's a me thing- not a you guys thing! But I had to say it!) I made it through with a consolation prize of Dr. Pepper since there was no Coke! It was great. Can't recommend this place enough! First time in the area, a local recommended this to us. Food was amazing, had the Brickhouse bowl, Brickhouse burger, Hatch smash burger, and Avo-rado chicken sandwich. Every meal we had was fantastic. Would recommend the mac and cheese and brussel sprouts for sides. Service was a little slow considering there were maybe only three other parties there. Went in after a long absence. The firecracker shrimp was always my favorite. It was still good but the slaw was almost all kale Ordered the spinach salad which again, was always fantastic. It came missing the candied walnuts so I asked our server for some. She then went back to the kitchen and delivered some raw walnuts. Bummer as the candied ones really cut through the acidity of the salad. Had a chicken avocado sandwich which was just ok. Bottom bun was all soggy and the top brioche bun was dry as a chip(most likely delivered frozen) Our server was nice enough but the food was just ok. I told her about the walnut's and she said they probably forgot to order them from the food delivery company. To be honest, candied walnuts are super easy to make. I wish that I could give negative stars. My wife and I are visiting from Texas with our friends from New York state (although I was born and raised in Colorado). My friend and I ordered drinks; upon receiving the glass of wine, I asked if it was typical for a $11 glass to be only 1/3 filled (after seeing a patron at the bar with a glass of red wine that was much more filled). I was not happy about this, but said "okay" and continued to sip my wine. We all ordered food. After 25 to 30 minutes of waiting, the server came to the table to advise us that he had not even put the order into the kitchen. The restaurant was not busy at all; there was two 2 top tables [and us] ... that is it. Again, order placed ... wait of 25 - 30 minutes ... told the order was not sent to the kitchen. Ridiculous My wife and I are generally generous to our servers. This is the first time, that I can recall, where we did not leave a tip. We did pay for our drinks ... and left. I wonder if ownership and / or management is aware of these business practices. Staying nearby at the Worldmark and our group of seven was looking for a fun place to go with some vegetarian dish options. Philipe , our server, was very fun, lots of energy and knowledgeable about the menu.. after deciding on drinks and our wine bottle choice, we put in food orders, and the service began to happen very quickly. Nate came over to assist with opening the bottle of wine. and was also super friendly and funny. Three of us decided to share the 20 ounce cowboy cut and it was amazing! After other orders were placed, a few of us asked if we could add extra oyster mushrooms and broccolini. The restaurant served us with no problem. A big bonus in my point of view. I would bet that if I came to this place anytime but spring break, the experience would be pretty doggone good. That being said, I made reservations during spring break, and the experience was subpar. Even though we arrived at 7:25 for our 7:30 reservation, we did not get seated until after eight. They were out of most items we ordered. The waiter announced a few items that they were out of, then my wife ordered chicken piccata as did I, my son ordered burnt endz and, and my daughter ordered a cheeseburger. They were out of chicken, piccata and burnt endz. Our server was nice, but I would've liked to have glass, we were the only customers with no glassware, and I did not love drinking out of plastic cups, I don't mean to sound petty, but wash the dishes and bring me four glasses for my drinks, especially if I notice NOBODY else but us has plastic cups. After we finally got our order put in, it took 40 minutes for our food to come to our table. There were people who arrived after us, yet we receive the last food to be delivered in the restaurant. I wouldn't normally notice this, but I was hungry, and Grumpy. At one point, we saw half our meal sit on the counter under the warmer, and it was still 10 minutes before it was delivered.... which makes no sense since we were the last order. Overall, the places clean, and as I said earlier, I'll bet you this place is awesome when it's not packed during spring break. My steak was actually good, as well as the chicken tenders and fries, and my daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger. Food was outstanding as was the service - this review is for those with celiac; those that need assurance the food, as was labeled on the menu, is actually gluten free. However, this wasn't the case at the Brickhouse - when asked about items labeled GF on the menu we received different answers and ultimately some labeled GF were not GF. Just look out for yourself and ask for "verification" that when the item is designated GF it truly is. read more

When you're basically the only game in town, I guess you don't have to try that hard. These were some terrible burgers. Ordered medium rare, came out well done. I appreciate the attempt at hand tossed, but the patties came out very misshapen. The bacon on the burgers was stringy and virtually inedible. Fries were over salted. Then we were told they were out of ketchup - how can a restaurant that primarily serves burgers be out of ketchup? I would give them a lower rating, but the waitstaff seemed to be trying their best. read more
