I ordered takeout from Fu Ming on January 15, 2021, having the chicken Mei fun, and the Seven Stars and a Moon platter. The chicken mei fun did have a good taste; however, the chicken was very dry and I also bit into something very hard while eating it. This immediately turned me off from wanting to continue eating this particular dish. Relative to the platter, I thought it was good. The platter consists of fried wontons, 2 fried dumplings, 4 boneless chicken fingers, an egg roll, 2 beef teriyaki sticks, 2 chicken wings, and a piece of egg foo young. All items in this platter were tasty, not dry, and were more than enough to be considered a standalone meal. I was surprised they included a piece of egg foo young as part of this appetizer. I will say that I wish the mei fun was better; perhaps it was a coincidence or an "off-night" for the kitchen, but it is what it is. I would suggest this spot if you are looking to try a new place or if you want a quick bite. I would return here again and give it another shot, but I would probably not get the mei fun. read more

Jade East before this wasn't that great but is so much compared compared to what it is now. I was not impressed. Everything was overly greasy. The Beef Teriyaki was an insult. The best beef teriyaki in RI is right down the street at Red Ginger. Go there. They have real Asian cuisine as well as "American" Chinese. I will never, ever, ever, ever come back to Fu-Ming. Chinese food is a favorite of mine and most of my family and we can be tough critics because we grew up dining on the good, old school, fresh Chinese food from days gone by. That being said - my whole family has been enjoying Fu Ming since they opened up in Johnston. I don't have pictures of what we've ordered so far, but, we've tried dozens of apps and dishes between us - both in the restaurant (friendly staff) and take out (delivery (YAY) - nice and hot) and our list of "favorite foods" has been increasing. Wonton soup, beef/chicken teriyaki, wings all good. Chow mien is fresh, fresh. We're all liking the beef lo mien, I think mostly because of the tender beef they use. The Beef with Peppers and onions is to die for.. TENDER meat, al dente veggies and a great brown gravy. Seems that everyone likes the chicken fingers with gravy - but, who doesn't enjoy some fried food every so often. What else.. the list of what we've tried is long. Also, something should be said about prices being fair, portions being large, service being friendly, and, DELIVERY, too!! AND, they have 1/2 portions of some of my favorite dishes.. which is mighty convenient when dining alone. Keep up the good work Fu Ming and welcome to the neighborhood! read more

Seems to be the place everyone is raving about since China Jade left us but I don't find anything special about it other than it's not overly salty like other places where you find yourself downing bottles of water afterwards. The General TSO isn't mushy or orange like other places and that is a hard item to order. It won't cure a spicy craving though. It's mild but crispy but if I am craving General TSO then I will go elsewhere. The beef Teriyaki has a decent flavor and price and size is consistent with other places. The french fries are on the thick, crispy side and not greasy or soggy. I noticed some reviews complaining about delivery.. I didn't even realize they delivered but come on even a UPS driver can have trouble finding a house the same as a pizza delivery. It's kind of ridiculous to rate somewhere as having bad food because the delivery guy might have gotten stuck in traffic. Not to mention Route5 being closed until 6pm means the guy might have had to take the highway to the other side of town. If you like the food then go get it yourself. read more

Ordered delivery from providence.... They said 45 mins and they came in 30. Food hot. Fried dumplings were good! I like that they have extra sauce. Got the generals chicken... I am really picky when it comes to chicken and I can honestly say this was tasty and didn't taste like cat.. White meat, spicy and sweet. It was not a 10 but not disgusting like every other Chinese delivery that we have ordered. Good service too! Looking forward to trying other items on the menus. read more

ZERO STARS! Worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. I ordered chicken & broccoli with fried rice and my husband ordered chicken wings with fried rice. We ordered IN PERSON and they still screwed it up. Instead of chicken wings and fried rice, my husband got fried rice...a massive container of gross, over cooked, burnt rice. My chicken & broccoli tasted like it had been sitting around for a week; Rubbery and cold. They put the food in the paper bag which was filled with spilled food and sauce upon opening said bag, so there went half our meal. The egg roll tasted like it had spoiled meat in it and I couldn't even choke down more than one bite. Repulsive. All of it. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone actually likes this food!! They can't even blame being too busy because it's 8:00pm on a Tuesday before thanksgiving. Delivery is always punctual, and very fast with friendly and courteous delivery drivers. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large. Everything my friends and I ordered was fresh and tasty. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise in an area of Johnston which is a bit drab. The wait staff were efficient and friendly in a genuine way, as well. Try the lo mein, steamed dumplings, and puffy crab rangoons. The fried rice is quite good, too, and I'm not usually a fan. I sampled from my friends' plates and everything was delicious. Drinks are good and they're not watered down like at some restaurants. There's a nice, casual, family-friendly vibe there, as well, and it's a fun place to go with a group of friends. Make room in the fridge for leftovers. The portions are huge, and I have to say that this place is pretty inexpensive. I'll definitely be heading back, at some point. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Fu Ming was more than a disappointment. I called to place my order, somewhat uncertain of what I wanted and the phone girl was rushing me to finish my order. Also, she gave me a very unnecessary amount of attitude regarding questions I had on the menu. To add on that, when I received my food.. there were FIVE pieces of hair in my food. My sister found 1 or 2 and maybe thought it was her hair.. however the hair is curly and all of us have straight hair. We later found 3 more pieces and immediately threw it away. I called Fu Ming to complain about my order in hopes I will just get a discount on my next order. Seeing as we was just gonna make home food. They responded with my complaint saying they will bring me new food, as long as they see the food that was dropped off but I was trying to explain that I already threw it away and I would just need a discount on my next order and they started yelling and said nothing will be done. Honestly, I'm disappointed in the way they handled a delivery situation we had. We're an office of about 40 people and I introduced everyone to this place since coming here during my college days. Everyone in my office like the food and continue ordering from them on a regular basis. Today, will be the last day my office will order from this establishment again. They made a mistake and didn't take down and deliver one of my coworker food, when my coworker called back they said "well we read the order back to you". & didn't offer any other option but said they're not going to deliver again, so one of my coworker was left with no lunch. Stay away! Went tonight with my family for an easy dinner after a long day. My 2 children always eat boneless chicken whenever we get Chinese. That's what we ordered. The waiter came out with chicken on the bone. Lied to the management/owner, who ever she was saying we changed our minds. We perfectly knew what we ordered. Again management/owner came over to our table accusing us that we ordered the chicken with bones and that's how it comes. She was upset with US!! And approached the table very unprofessionally and unfriendly. The waiter obviously made a mistake, I understand it happens and we were ok with waiting for the proper order to come out. Mistakes happen. It was the way it was addressed and how we were approached. She was clearly upset with us. Food was not good either. Extremely greasy and salty. Rice was cold. Service was slow and it wasn't busy. Only 2 other tables in the place. He forgot our drink, and had to ask him for it again. Never going back. Grossed out and turned off. read more
