I had a good experience at fu manchung. The vibe was nice, the food was good and the service was exceptional. I went to fu manchung for lunch. The restaurant wasn't super busy & parking was plentiful. The food itself was good but not standout. I got the hot and mild wontonic + the crabby egg rolls. The hot and mild wontonic was good, but was lacking a bit of a "wow" factor. The dumplings were good. Nothing really stood out.. The crabby egg rolls were pretty good. They were nice and crispy with a good taste. I personally thought the names were all funny :) Service was really good here. Our waitress was super nice and welcoming. She chatted with us for a while & made sure our food came out super fast. Overall, I thought this was a nice place & I had a good time
We drove over 45 minutes to try Fu Manchung after Yelp released its list of 25 best pho restaurants in the United States, and it did not disappoint! My Vietnamese boyfriend was initially skeptical looking at the menu, but he left feeling satisfied and stuffed! The service at Fu Manchung was fantastic! Everyone we interacted with was exceptional - kind, helpful, and friendly. Our waitress took the time to ask us how our experience was and even walked us to the door when we were finished! The ambiance is pretty typical of a casual Asian-American dining experience - red paper lanterns cover the ceiling. The restaurant was clean and well-kept. The food was very good. We ordered spring rolls as an appetizer- these were made fresh. Tasty but nothing particularly unique. We also ordered the bun thit nuong, which was very tasty with a crown of egg rolls over vermicelli, fresh veggies, and a combination of pork and shrimp. Fu Manchung really makes a name for itself with its delicious pho, however. The broth is the best broth I have had outside my boyfriend's family home. It is cooked for 10-12 hours and boasts no MSG. The pho noodles were soft but did not stick to each other. The meatballs were my boyfriend's favorite meatballs in all of Houston! The tai chin was over-cooked, but we were able to overlook this considering how tasty everything else was! Fu Manchung is among the best pho restaurants in the US for a reason! Would definitely recommend.
Service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean. The food was slightly above average this time, but well-presented. Appetizers were under seasoned yet satisfying, and my noodle dish was simply mediocre. My mom said her soup could have been more flavorful. Perhaps it was an off night? We may give it another shot.
This is one of my favorite places hands down. Not only has my food been good every time, but the service is impeccable and friendly, an understatement. The food has never disappointed me. The process of ordering food is slightly different than most sit-down restaurants, at least it was when I was there. As you walk in you are greeted at the hostess stand and your order and payment are taken there, menus are provided along with large blown-up pictures of the food along with a number that corresponds with the number on the menu. Next, they handed me a number on a stand and told me to sit where ever I like. At the end of the meal, I was asked to sign my credit card receipt where you can leave a tip. This is a great place to eat!
I came here once with my family because I was in the mood for good Vietnamese food. I was coming from Chicago and I knew there is a big Vietnamese population in Houston and surrounding areas. This place was highly rated and it did not disappoint. It was very easy to find parking since they have a good size lot. Service was superb, they took good care of us. We ordered a variety of dishes but I did not taste all of them. We ordered crabby cream rolls, Fu Manchung wings, pho-licious, vermicelli boom cha y'all, and hot and mild wontonic. There was another dish but I forgot the name. Everything was tasty and filling. We actually came here when the old owners were still running this place. Quality wise I'm not sure how it is now but I hope it's the same.
I don't even know where to start! I could give more than 5 stars. Very family oriented place. I always feel so welcomed and can honestly forget life's problems here! I'm always treated with kindness. The food is amazingggggggg! The flavors are everything! My favorite dish is the spicy wontonic. I could eat every thing on menu lol I can promise you will not regret the visit.
This is worth a detour to try. I came here while on a day trip to Houston (since rumor has it best pho in texas is Houston) and was very glad I did! The ambiance was really calming. The hostess was respectful and SUPER friendly. The acoustics were decent so even though others were talking it wasnt loud at all. The food was great. The broth was rich and packed with flavor, the spring rolls were crisp, and the thai tea is a nice beverage offering. You order at the host stand, take a seat, then it comes out when ready. Service was quick. Overall I would highly recommend stopping by!
I was an old school lover of Fu Manchung back before Covid and when Qshi hadn't moved (or later gone out of business). Fu Manchung is still good and still has heart. I used to talk to Paul on the regular before we moved and was sad when it closed. Today, I was back in town and made the call to go to this foodie destination. Chloe worked the front and her father worked the kitchen, the service was good and all our favorites were still there. We got the Pho (still best in the region), Macarolees, Crabby Cream Rolls, Fu Fu Fries and more. All the flavors were right there; there were small differences like Fu Fu Fries sauce was a little more sweet, but my wife liked it more than the old. Guaranteed anytime we come to town, Fu Manchung will be a must-go-to.
3.5/5 My rating of this place is mainly based off the stellar customer service. However, the rave about the vermicelli dish I do not understand. There were 3 people in the establishment but I ended up waiting a long time for my dish. I know the noodles and veggies are usually served cold/room temp but my steak & shrimp coming out luke warm was a no no. I don't know if they forgot my food out or what. It wasn't worth complaining about bcz I was very hungry. If ur in the area & craving Vietnamese the food will do. But don't go out of ur way to come for this dish in particular, I drove a while to get here bcz Of the ratings and was disappointed. It's a standard vermicelli bowl nothing to write home about whatsoever.

I haven't been back to Fu Manchung since the new owners took over. I was a little apprehensive about going back. Sometimes new owners change things up & the food it's not the same quality, but that is definitely not the case! The food was fresh, nicely seasoned & served hot. Each dish was beautifully presented. We started off with the Flying Egg rolls, Vietnamese style. The outside shell was nice and crispy and filled with lots of pork and vegetables. It came with fresh lettuce to roll your eggrolls in and a lot of fish sauce, with shredded carrots to dip it in. I got the stir Fu Mannoodles. Lots of cabbage, broccoli, beef, and crispy noodles with a really nice sauce. I am all about the crunch! My husband got the Beef Boom Cha Y'all. This bowl is filled to the rim with all kinds of goodness. It comes with both beef and shrimp and Vietnamese eggrolls cut in half along the side of the bowl. I highly recommend to come and support this local business. read more

Hot & Mild Wontonic I really couldn't stand the smell of it or eat it. It tasted funny to me and the fact that they didn't have soy sauce made it even worst. The gave me some nasty seasoning sauce. My daughter food was horrible too. Don't be deceived by the food picture... You know it's bad when you have to pay before your even seated and it's not a all you can eat buffet. Good service and good food?! Count me in! I ordered the creamy crab rolls and the wok n' beef! And let me tell ya, I was not disappointed. The creamy crab rolls were hot and steamy, and the filling was melt in your mouth good! They give you a side of sweet and sour sauce, but I didn't even use it because it was flavorful enough by itself . The wok n beef was a fresh spin on the traditional bo luc lac, also known as, the shaking beef at other establishments. In terms of authenticity, the sauce was a lot lighter and they used bell peppers rather than the traditional vegetables. However, it was still tasty and nicely portioned. One of my yelpies told me about this place and after running a couple of errands, I decided to stop here for lunch. The owner greeted me upon arrival and the Lady taking the orders was also very friendly in explaining the menu and some of the items in a little more detail. I ordered a phat thai with beef and a pho rolle, which was a recommendation by the cashier. Phat Thai was their version of pad Thai and it was good. The beef was tender and seasoned pretty well. The noodles weren't clumpy but rather finely cooked and easily to break. The pho rolle was also good as it was a combination of an egg roll and pho crossbred to create a pho rolle. I personally am not a big fan of creating new dishes when they are perfect in their original form, but nonetheless they were good. The waiter and owner came, a couple of times around me to ensure everything was OK and remembered my name, which was a noble thing to do. I see myself going back pretty soon. read more

BEST PHO I've ever had! I visited this place from New York City as I was visiting Houston for the weekend. I found this place from Yelp as it had amazing reviews. I had an elevated expectation from both Google and Yelp reviews and this place met all my expectations. The soup, meats, noodles, and everything was right and tasted amazing. This is a must-visit pho place in Houston. The only downside is that this place only opens on Wednesdays through Saturdays. In any case, I cannot recommend this place enough. I will definitely revisit soon. read more

Really cute place to get a meal! Our server was great, and she was training someone else as well, both girls were really nice. We had to make adjustments to our food as we don't eat pork, and they were very accommodating for your dietary restrictions. Someone else checked on us as well (either the manager or the owner), and he was very kind as well. As for the food, we surprisingly enjoyed it. I say surprisingly because we're not much for Asian food, but we really liked the balance of the food...there were no very strong flavors or anything too salty or sour..just a nice balance. We had plans to go some place else for drinks, otherwise I would like to have tried their boba. It just means we need to stop by again! read more

I'm in TX for business. It's a steamy 95 degrees outside, so typically, I would not want to eat PHO for lunch but the 5 star rating brought me in to give this place a try. Boy I'm glad I did! My meal was delicious but it's not just that, the servers were very attentive. The hostess called me by my name wishing me a good day. Good music and great atmosphere! My first time here, and I already feel like a regular. They treated us like family. Our entire visit, from the service to the food, was an absolute delight!!! It is an intimate dining experience, but warm & laid back too. Our server, Stephanie, was bubbly & enthusiastic, sweet & attentive. "Paul the Busser" (one of the owners, haha) helped take care of us, too. He opened our wine (it's BYOB!), went over the extremely thoughtful & creative menu offerings, and when the food was brought to us he explained the innovative ways of dipping & mixing to customize the flavor profiles. He was also very entertaining lol. He did the same with the other tables, taking the time to walk the floor and care for all the guests. The food was definitely PHO-nomenal!!! They have taken Asian classics and elevated the recipes, fusion-style, to a whole new level!!! It really is so amazing! With only two of us, we decided to sample an appetizer, a soup, and an entree. Paul & Stephanie asked the kitchen to split everything for us, so they plated each dish thoughtfully into separate plates & bowls. Still, the divided portions were hearty!!! Every bite & morsel was outstanding... Happy tastebuds & full tummies, here! We can't wait to come back... We already have our next order mapped out lol. This place did NOT disappoint If you're anything like me you go straight to this app and check out pictures of all the food to see what you're going to order. This place has all the pics right there at the entrance for you to choose from ! Loved it but it also made choosing that much harder ! Both dishes were absolutely delicious, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming & each table had its own hand sanitizer. Doesn't get better than this ! read more

Went as a family for dinner. Gathered the following "star reviews" from the kiddos and hubby: Egg rolls - 5 stars Pad Thai -5 stars Chicken wings - 4 stars Pho - 3 stars Tables are spaced out nicely, waiter takes your order upon entering. You pay and then wait for your table. Once you're seated, they bring you your drinks and a few minutes later your appetizers arrive. Not much later the entrees arrive and before you know it, all that yummy food is gone. Great prices, great food. The service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly. The atmosphere is nice and the place is clean and organized. Lots of customers were arriving for pick up orders so the place was super busy. Yet it felt calm and casual. read more

Best service and amazing food! The setup is a little different as you order coming in, but they fusion ambience is nice and the service was great. They even had Keto pho and stir fry! The owner's attention to detail was well placed and not overbearing by any means. A great venue for family and/or date. Also... it's BYOB!!! Definitely recommend this venue. read more

I really enjoyed the food and customer service here My wife and I walked in and was greeted by the hostess and our waiter. They sat us down and took our drink. Food- I had the pho and my wife had the vermicelli. We also order spring rolls as an app. The spring rolls were ok nothing spectacular about it l. (I'll try something more exciting next time) The pho was very flavorful and tasty. It actually had a good amount of meat to noodle ratio. Most pho places give you more noodles than meat. My wife really enjoyed her dish as well, especially since she isn't a vermicelli type person. Customer service- everyone was so nice and polite to us. Always checking on us and seeing how we enjoyed he meal. My water never went low. It was a very friendly environment. I felt like I knew these people servicing me. I frequent Vietnamese restaurants, so this one didn't make it too high on my list. This restaurant is pretty far from the city and just ok. I don't think the food here is bad at all, just not as comparable and authentic. I do think the service was excellent, and the owner and servers were also very nice and attentive. I got the Pho and my friend got the chicken curry. The pho broth was just average and the meat quality wasn't as good as some other places. It wasn't too salty but it wasn't as flavorful. The chicken curry was on the lighter side which was good. They didn't really give that much rice to go with the curry though. The prices here are a little bit to high compared to other restaurants. I think the bowl of pho was around $12 or more where as you can go into the city and get a bowl for $7. If I really had a pho craving and I'm in this area I wouldn't mind stopping here though. read more

Fu Manchung has tasty food, but almost all of it is some form of noodles. So, if that's not your thing, you'll likely want to go elsewhere. That being said, what they do have is delish! The iced Vietnamese coffee comes like a bubble tea, but it's yummy. I appreciated the free video games for kids. The Vietnamese style flying egg rolls were my fav food item! read more
From the second we walked in we felt welcomed and valued. That was refreshing! We tried the L4, and the basil beef, and a grohaman(spelling?) eggrolls sampler. I was a little unsure about the macaroolies but was quickly converted to a lover. The L4 was fresh and tasty, the basil beef was good and savory. We will definitely be back. read more

Couldn't wait to try this place! It did not disappoint! Super sweet and patient service! I called multiple times to ask questions about the menu and was met with knowledge and a wonderful attitude. I ordered curbside and when I got there my food wasn't quite ready but the server brought out my mango smoothie so I could enjoy that while I waited. And boy did I! I'm Indian and this drink tasted as good as a fresh mango lassi. Better than so many other mango things I've had. When my bag arrived the food smelled delicious! Upon opening I noticed a very nice thank you note on one of my boxes! Everything was amazing! The fried rice was incredible! Moist and flavorful. The chicken curry was lovely. Can't wait to try more things! She also told me that Monday's are buy one get one drinks and Tuesday's are kids eat free! Highly recommend! read more

This Resturant is a place we are willing to drive queue a ways to get too and we are never disappointed we did. From the awesome greeting you receive waking though the door to the awesome service you receive with the ever attentive owner, Paul, checking up on you to insure everything is perfect. You are set for the perfect dining experience with three most awesome food you could ask for. We have never been disappointed and anyways leave with dinner left overs for a mud night snack. FOOD: I had the vermicelli dish in my photo and was so delicious! The beef was tender and such a highlight of that high-temperature wok flavor! The nuoc cham sauce is so balanced, a real umami flavor for the vermicelli. Also had the crab cream cheese rolls, they were crispy and warm. If you like crab ranngoon, I'd suggest these. There is a real dedication to good food here, and it taste like they love the food they put out! EXPERIENCE: I visited this restaurant in the midst of the COVID19 closures. Even though my experience here was very short, I left feeling appreciated. Even through the challenges restaurants were facing at that time, the customer service was A1! This place is awesome! BOTH the food and the staff are great! It was our first visit and we loved it! Will definitely be stopping by again to try more items on the menu. I had the vermicelli bowl and my boyfriend had the fried Vietnamese egg rolls. The vermicelli bowl as served freshly made and to my specifications. (No beef, no peanuts, etc.) All the vegetables were crisp & fresh and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The grilled shrimp was hot and cooked to perfection. I was also given extra fish sauce as requested. The egg rolls were served hot & according to my boyfriend were "damn good". LoL. Both dishes were plentiful and delicious. The staff was exceptionally kind & attentive. The owner himself was working and made it a point to make sure we had a great dining experience. They definitely went above & beyond. The restaurant was very clean and so were the restrooms. Overall a great visit and they definitely made a new long term customer. *Our visit was during the COVID pandemic and they had sanitizer on all the tables as well as plenty of spacing between tables. I hate having to give 3 stars :/ Staff - soooo nice, but slacking hard with a huge waiting line. Two Uber eats driving where just being avoided the whole time so they could seat people. Food taste amazing! Really creative style! My little cousins loved it. However, I myself ordered the keto stir fry and I'm pretty sure it kicked me out of ketosis. It was quite sweet and hard to tell what was in it. They claim it's an amino base but it taste like someone through a dollop of sugar in, not knowing what keto is. I understand, it happens a lot trying to eat out on keto... BUT PLEASE, if you have keto items on your menu... be sure your chefs know what keto means test the items as well on people in ketosis that are willing to see what it does to there Ketone levels. Whoooaaaa!!! This place is SUPER YUMMY & has THE BEST SERVICE! We were treated like a 5 star hotel from the moment you walk into this tiny cozy hidden gem! Atmosphere is a +++! Great date place! This is down home comfy food esp on a cold day. We just ordered what they recommended and we were thrilled! Felt like a place I would run into any time of day but def the evening was great! Eat there to experience the service! When we left, they opened the door for us and wished us a great evening. I have to gush about the service b/c so many places have lost that part of hospitality post covid. Drawback was too many items to choose from so I just let go! read more

Americanized Asian food! Came here on a cold, rainy day and saw good reviews on yelp so I thought I would give it a try. Got the eggroll appetizer, tom yum fried rice, mapo tofu, and spicy wonton soup. Service was good and everyone was pretty polite. Our water was always refilled and our server always came by to check up on us. The best out of all the food we got, to me, personally, was the appetizer. The tom yum fried rice was too sweet for me and the spicy wonton soup wasn't spicy at all. Kind of lacked flavor for the soup and the tofu. Portions are plenty though! I mean I would give five stars for service and cleanliness but the food isn't something I would crave. read more
