Vegan donuts! I stopped by Fry Baby Donuts on a weekday I had off in the morning. This place is hidden conspicuously near Allen and you wouldn't really know it's there unless you are looking. The decor inside is quirky and fun. Fry Baby Donuts has well...donuts and also vegan pizza. From what I gather the flavors and types rotate so you can always try something new! Being dairy-free I'm always on the lookout for something to try and the vegan donuts certainly hit the spot. I got half a dozen of a mix of flavors which were unique and tasty! Oreo cheesecake, chocolate sprinkle and wild berry were my favorites of the bunch. Next time I'll be back to try the pizza and other flavors.
A M A Z I N G !!!! BEST VEGAN PIZZA IN BUFFALO, NY!!! I've never ever had a problem with them, their attitudes never get rude or impatient. They make me feel so welcomed even in their small open area where they have a super cool vcr tv along with tons of tapes they play sometimes. They are very helpful to the community and even partner with local businesses. The iced Yerba mate is good, I had it regular. I can't wait to try more things on the menu such as their ice cream sammys. I really LOVEEEE the pizza tho, I've had almost ever flavor. Ranked Most Liked Buffalo Chicken WITH ranch drizzle Sesame garlic chicken Carmalized onion 3 Cheese breakfast Pickle (wasn't gross, I just like the least)
I want to preface this by saying I am not vegan. I hardly ever eat vegan food. My coworkers and I decided to order lunch, and since two of them are vegan/vegetarian we decided to order Fry Baby. We got 4 QT pies to split between the four of us so we could each try a slice of a different pizza. The slices are huge so we have leftovers which is the best. We ordered a big mac pizza, the frankenstein, the dill pickle, and the buffalo chicken. My favorite was the Frankenstein - which was buffalo chicken on a general tso base. It was sweet, sticky, and spicy. So good. All of the pizzas were packed with flavor and on a doughy crust. I don't know how these pizzas are vegan. SO GOOD. I also got a couple of donuts to save for later. I got a HUGE apple fritter donut and a birthday cake stick donut. I ate my birthday cake one, and it was crispy and delicious on the outside and cakey and moist on the inside. A combination donut/pizza restaurant sounds questionable. A VEGAN donut/pizza place sounds even more suspicious. But this food is AMAZING.
The upside of having a vegan brother in law is that when he visits we end up doing a vegan food tour of Buffalo. On his last visit, we hit up Fry Baby Donuts not once, but twice. Cute little place but it has very limited hours. The donuts are very good, but pricey. Being non-vegans we will stick to less expensive donut joints. Brother in law did say they are one of the top vegan donuts he has had.
Don't be fooled by the exterior if it looks plain and maybe a little unmarked. This is a great spot to grab some donuts (and vegan pizza!) in Buffalo. We went in between some paint jobs on the outside of the building, so we almost didn't see Fry Baby looking right at it. There's not much in-house seating, though that didn't stop my friend and I from setting up in the bar seat adjacent to the window after a 6 hour motorcycle ride to get there. The owner won't pressure you to buy anything, but if you walked in looking for a flavor they don't have that week, get something else instead. You won't be disappointed! For full context, my friend and I aren't even vegan, just sweets lovers who were riding motorcycles from Philly to Canada, and someone recommended this place the week before our trip. Even as non-vegans and residents of a bigger city, we thought the donuts were better than most donut places we have back home in Philly. And that vegan pizza? The bomb! Seems weird but just go for it. Bbq chicken is the flavor we both got, and we were 1000% stoked with it. I was heartbroken we couldn't take dozens of donuts with us both up to our destination and back to Philly on the way home.
This is a donut hole in the wall, you would miss it unless you knew it was there. My daughter is vegan and wanted to try their donuts. We picked out a few different types and they were very good and flavorful. The only down side was the flies buzzing around inside the shop which was a turn off.
If you're looking for doughnuts that are soft and fluffy in texture, this is definitely the place to go - most of the doughnuts here are soft and fluffy. Husband and I got a half-dozen doughnut box (Cinnamon sugar, Raspberry cheesecake, Cronut, chocolate glazed, Orange cream, chocolate), Chocolate glazed cinnamon roll, and Chocolate banana fritter. I'm a fan of cake-ier, chewy doughnuts so these weren't my favorite, but overall, the flavors were delicious.
If you're driving by and see a line, you're at the right place- Fry Baby Donuts. It's a tiny donut shop that makes specialty donuts every morning for $2 per donut. They have chocolate glazed, birthday cake, fruity pebbles, and many other flavors. If you need coffee, they serve drip coffee too! My wife and I ordered the fruity pebble donut and the chocolate donut. They both were good, but not the best we've ever had. They both were intensely sweet. Still, if you love donuts, it's worth a visit when in Buffalo.
I absolutely love love love Fry Baby! So happy they're open again. Every time I visit home, I make sure to stop here. No donuts are this good in LA and these donuts are for a fair price! Absolutely fresh and delightful. Even non vegans love them! Make sure to stop in to Fry Baby! Check their Instagram for the daily flavors/hours/what they have in stock.
Day 2 enjoying a fry baby donut, and loving my maple bacon... wait, what?!! I thought these were vegan donuts .... DONUT panic V friends! 1) it *IS* a vegan donut, the maple bacons are maple flavored toasted coconuts - so gooooood! 2) I said day 2 so *some* donuts sat around my kitchen counter BUT it's still fresh like I just got it today See, I made a quick stop in the store yesterday (literally 5 min). There is not a huge selection of flavors so I easily asked for a dozen of *almost* each flavor (see my pic for my picks). Sharing is caring so my group shared the + cronut (thumbs up!) + sweet potato marshmallow (fried, crunchy-ish, interesting flavor... another thumbs up!), + plain glazed (thumbs up) + orange creamsicle (loved the fluffy white I think it's marshmallow -but not really sure- topping...another thumbs up) It's definitely a big donut, and luckily it doesn't sit like a rock after eating a whole one... phew! So far I think the maple bacon is my favorite. However, I'm not a fan of glaze or icing. They ran out of 'plain' ones yesterday so hopefully they will have a small batch next time for my 'old-fashion' heart. I'd love to see more Fry Baby Donuts around the city.... or carried in stores like the Lexington Coop and Wegmans!!
Did not know these donuts were vegan until AFTER I ate the donuts + read some of the reviews. Told my friend after the fact and he was just as shocked. You cannot tell at all! Took a nice walk along the Elmwood and Allentown area on our way to Fry Baby. Compared to what I was expecting, the location seemed very hidden and unexpected. It is a small place with 3-4 stool seats but it's more of a location to grab your donuts to go or eat them quickly. We took two to-go (maple pecan cream and cinnamon apple fritter) and heated them up for 10 sec in the microwave. If you are able, I definitely suggest doing this before devouring them. The maple glaze is what really makes the pecan cream donut special. The cream part didn't really add to it. I could definitely see the pecan pieces just sprinkled on top of the glaze. I enjoyed the apple fritter even more. Reminded me of a super cinnamony-sugary funnel cake with real! pieces of apple sprinkled throughout. Would definitely come again to try their other options since based on other reviews, they switch up their flavors all the time.
Best vegan donuts in Buffalo. Was in town from Los Angeles visiting family in Orchard Park, Fry Baby's was a quick 20minute drive downtown. Donuts are better than LA's vegan donuts, which is shocking. Joan Cusack in High Fidelity *shOCKing*
I love this place. The donuts have literally never been bad. They are always so light and fluffy but crispy and crunchy at the same time does that make sense? Idk I'm coming down from a sugar high after gorging myself on donuts. Anyway, unpopular opinion but these donuts are better than Paula's. I know. Come at me. They're that good. My personal favorite is a simpler one they do the maple glaze. I also LOVE their Boston cream. How do they make vegan custard???? I don't know man it's like witchcraft, they're like flavor mad scientists. I had a new one today the marshmallow fudge and they pack so much delicious flavor into just a little topping? It's mind blowing. I love donuts and specifically these donuts.
Hey, did you know this small business is back??!! After a move and a small interruption, they're back and making the donuts! Gotta make the donuts (IYKYK) ANYWAY, they're on the west side, in the old Quaker Bonnet building sharing space with another small business... You really need to go here and get a donut or 12!! They're vegan if that is your thing but if it isn't, you honestly cannot tell the difference. These are the yummiest and freshest and the proprietor is friendly and engaging as well... it's a win win of you go! You must go eat donuts... go eat donuts, go eat donuts! (Did that work? Are you in your way there?) read more
Love love love these donuts. We brought them to a (non-vegan) friend's house who said they must be Paula's. They are sooo delicious and everyone we have given them to agrees and doesn't even know they are vegan. Get there early because the best ones sometimes go fast. I also love their frozen pizza logs. I usually plan to put them in my freezer for a rainy day but they never end up lasting in there past the day I got them. For anyone else with parking anxieties: they do have a small lot. Although it's small, I've never had an issue pulling right into a spot. read more

HOW ARE THESE VEGAN?! Stopped in for the first time around 2pm on a Saturday and they were almost out already. I got one of each flavor that was left. They're all amazing!! Can't wait to stop in again to try more flavors! read more
DELICIOUS!!! I'd never had a vegan donut and I'm and I never tried one before! The staff members are extremely friendly and lively and make you feel welcome in this quirky little spot. I got a ghost shaped jelly donut and it was absolutely delicious! I also got some coffee and mixing it with vanilla soy milk was amazing. The perfect little stop for a coffee and donut in a hole in the wall style shop. I'll be back again and this time I'm ordering a dozen! read more

This is the best place to get donuts in town, hands down. I know that's an unpopular opinion with Paulas being the common favorite but Fry Baby is unlike no other with it's unique flavors and cool designs on their donuts! I literally recommend them to everyone I know. They might be vegan but they are delicious for non vegans alike, I'm not vegan and I LOVE them! Please go here if you have the chance while in Buffalo!! read more
Fry baby has the best donuts in my opinion! I love that they have their staple flavors but rotate fun flavors weekly which keep it exciting and makes me want to try them all. My favorite staple is the chocolate donut stick, it's seriously so good. Even my non vegan coworkers had no idea these were vegan. The cinnamon roll is another favorite of mine and is a pretty decent size! Only downside is that you have to get there at least before noon if you want to get one of the special weekly flavors as they seem to sell out sometimes, which has happened to me a few times before. Otherwise I have no qualms about this place! read more

Absolutely LOVE Fry Baby. The donuts are the best my boyfriend and I have ever had (even better that they're vegan) and the vegan pizzas are amazing! The sesame garlic "chicken" is my boyfriends fav and mine is the veggie balsamic. We went today for some pizza and donuts and the woman even threw in a couple extra donuts free since it was close to closing time. So sweet and much appreciated! I didn't get her name, but she had pink hair and was such a sweetheart. I also tried the cold brew for the first time today and that was so yummy! Thanks again! We love supporting you guys read more

We recently took a trip to Portland, OR, and had enjoyed some fancy donuts there, so when we found ourselves missing Portland the other day, I decided to stop here. I bought the raspberry blood orange, chocolate cream pie and lemon cream pie. The donuts are nice and fluffy, and I really can't tell that they're vegan. I was kind of disappointed that the chocolate cream pie and lemon cream pie donuts weren't what I expected. I thought they would be filled donuts with chocolate cream and lemon cream, respectively, but no, they were regular donuts with holes in the middle, except the hole was disguised by whipped cream. The chocolate one just had chocolate glaze on the top, and the lemon had lemon glaze-no chocolate cream or lemon cream. They were still tasty, but not what I expected based on the name or from what I could see when they were behind the counter. The base donut was identical to the raspberry blood orange one I'd also purchased. I get the feeling that most of the donuts here use the same batter for the donut itself, and that the main difference is the glaze. Which is fine, but something to keep in mind if you're trying to get a variety of donuts. I've also tried the apple fritter on another visit, which was different, though I didn't like it as much as the other ones I've eaten. They also seem to have cake donuts, at least on occasion, but I haven't tried those. I'll be back! read more

I was happy to find a vegan donut place in Buffalo. Unfortunately I came near closing and they were out of some of their flavors but there were still a number of interesting flavors to try. My favorite was the banana cake donut. It was perfectly textured and I could not tell it was vegan. It had the right amount of banana flavor. This was probably my favorite vegan cake donut I've had. I also got a jam filled donut and a strawberry frosted donut. Both were good but I've had better glazed vegan donuts in LA. Would definitely stop back next time I'm in Buffalo and try to come earlier when there are more options. read more

Love Fry Baby Donuts each week they have fun new exciting flavors and and also some plays on some classics like apple fritters, glazed and sprinkle. I also really enjoy there cream filled donut. The cream is more of the consistency of whipped cream and not heavy. I get excited to check out their IG page each week to see what concoctions have been created. The smell walking up to the door it amazing as well. These have also been approved my my 6 year old and always seem to be asking when we can pick up some donuts from there again. Going is a bit of a drive for me which may be a good thing since we probably shouldn't be eating donuts on the regular. I glad there's a nice vegan treat option in our city. They are a little bit on the pricy side but worth it since I keep coming back! read more

Vegan Donuts in Buffalo, it's about time! I ran in here on Friday because they were open and I was in need of donuts (good enough reason for me). The shop itself is super small but it's not really the kind of place you come to spend a long period of time, you come here to eat as many donuts as possible. Anyway, I ended up giving the chocolate frosting and vanilla frosting donuts a go and they were even better then I could of expected. The donuts are thick and doughy (which means perfect) and the chocloate/vanilla frosting is so so so so good it'll make you buy a dozen just for yourself. I also have to note that my selfish self also finished off one of my girlfriends donut which was whatever one was full of vanilla cream and that was spot on as well. Overall, not only is this the best vegan donut shop in the Buffalo area, it's a contender for the best donut shop period! read more
So SO happy for this little donut shop to open. '5's' all around from me. I have followed Fry Baby's Instagram account for a while now, and I love seeing pictures of these donuts in my feed - they're super fun and colorful and definitely drool worthy. When I found out they were opening an actual store less than a mile from where I live, I was really excited and knew I had to go ASAP once they opened, and I did just that. I visited last Thursday during their opening week and decided to get 4 donuts for my boyfriend and I to share. These are definitely large donuts..$2 each, which I think is fair..and one filled me up for a while (I ate the other one a few hours later though...couldn't resist.) These donuts are freaking delicious and did not disappoint whatsoever. They're definitely my favorite donuts that I've had in Buffalo - much better than Paula's in my opinion. It makes it even better that the ladies running the place are extremely friendly and inviting. I can't wait to go back! Notes** *Vegan friendly! I don't have dietary restrictions, but an FYI if you do, these are all vegan! ...and for those that aren't vegan like myself, these are awesome donuts period, not just good 'vegan' donuts! :) *Street parking only *This isn't a 'sit down' place. The store is very small and is for grab-and-go orders. read more
Their donuts are the best donuts I've literally ever had! They're so fresh and the dough is that really soft and fluffy texture that reminds me of homemade donuts like my nan used to make. There's not a whole lot of variety, but with the half dozen we tried the mojito, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate raspberry, apple fritter, vanilla sprinkle, and toasted coconut. Of all those, the apple fritter was the best one hands down, so if you're gonna be one of those people who only gets one to be 'healthy', I'd recommend the apple fritter. Really wish they had more flavours and location was better, but overall, definitely worth the trip downtown! read more

Very yummy! Fry baby has a good variety of doughnuts, from sprinkles, headlights, strawberry jelly filled, chocolate peanut butter, banana cream pie....Perfectly moist on the inside. The sprinkle doughnuts gave me a hint sense of a Krispy Kreme... not as gooey but the flavor of the icing makes it taste similar. A little pricey.... a dozen of doughnuts costed $22 read more
